Chapter 1
Lenetta walked through the forest she was in, the sun beating down on her pale skin. Her golden eyes widened as she heard the sounds of Firebending and battle sounds. She immediately took off running towards the source of the sound. She leapt behind a bush and watched the battle as it unfolded.
What she saw shocked her: There was a teenage boy with short black hair and a horrible burn scar on his face, he wore Earth Kingdom clothing. There was an elderly man with him who had gray long hair and also wore Earth Kingdom clothing. They were fighting some Fire Nation soldiers and a teenage girl who wore fancy Fire Nation clothing. The two men appeared to be losing.
Lenetta winced as the two flew backwards after being hit by a powerful blue fireblast. The girl was about to generate some lightning before Lenetta drew her swords and jumped from behind the bush. She stood in front of the fallen men and threw her sword to block the lightning. The sword exploded on impact. The Fire Nation soldiers flung fireballs at her which she deflected with her sword. The girl walked up to her and fire kicked the sword out of her hand and threw a powerful fire blast at Lenetta.
Lenetta hadn't bended in three years and yet here she was having to bend. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath recalling the knowledge she had gained from reading scrolls for all four nations and bending forms. She put as much power as she could into this. She punched and a powerful fireblast went toward the girl's blast and they met in an explosion.
They held the blast for a minute and stopped. The girl stopped and stared at the panting girl before her. No one has ever matched me in power before, who does this girl think she is!, the girl thought.
" Who are you", the girl asked in anger. " Lenetta", she replied with a growl. Lenetta stood up proudly in the face of her opponent. " Who are you" Lenetta asked with anger. " I am Princess Azula of the Fire Nation, and these little imbeciles you just protected are my brother Zuko and Uncle Iroh, how dare you protect them when I'm supposed to capture them!", Azula shouted.
" Why would you try to capture your family, you're supposed to protect them, and why would the Fire Lord send his daughter to capture his son and brother?", Lenetta asked with confusion in her voice, she was still in a defensive stance.
" Because they are traitors to the Fire Nation, now if you know what's good for you, you will hand them over and step aside." Azula replied, her golden eyes glinted dangerously as she bended some blue fire in her fists.
Lenetta thought it over, Why would the Fire Lord pronounce his son and brother traitors...well whatever reason I won't let Azula take them, I have a bad feeling about what would happen to them. " Never!", Lenetta shouted, she went into a Firebending stance and prepared herself for battle.
" Wrong choice!", Azula screamed and sent the fireballs her way. Lenetta deflected them and threw her own fireblast.
This sent Azula flying back. She screamed as she landed on the ground. " You're gonna regret this, I will be back!", Azula screamed and stomped away, her soldiers following behind her.
Lenetta turned around and ran to Zuko and Iroh. She helped them up and asked them if they were alright. " Were alright thank you dear.", replied Iroh as he dusted off his clothes. " Yeah thanks for the save.", Zuko said. " It was no problem, I was happy to help.", Lenetta said with a small smile.
" Why was Princess Azula after you, if you don't mind me asking?", asked Lenetta, she was genuinely curious but hoped she wasn't hitting a sore spot.
" It's because we fought against Zhao during the Siege of the North, he was trying to destroy the Moon Spirit but their princess saved it,"Iroh replied, Lenetta hoped the princess was at peace now.
" What happened to her?", Lenetta asked.
" She turned into the Moon Spirit, whenever she was a baby she was dying so her parents prayed to the spirits, they placed her in the spirit oasis pool and the Moon Spirit touched giving her part of its life force.", said Iroh.
" Wow.", replied Lenetta, she was astonished by this story.
She looked up at the sky and saw the moon and noticed the sun was setting so she told her companions, " I have a camp, nearby you guys can spend the night there if you wan,", Lenetta offered.
" Thank you very much Lenetta, my nephew and I are grateful for your hospitality to us.", replied Iroh, Zuko nodded at her and smiled slightly signifying his gratitude.
" Great right this way.", Lenetta said, she lead them through the forest to her campsite.
