Friend or Foe arc Episode twenty: Flare's Determination and Claw's Redemption Part Three

Claw's perspective was shown in first person as he awoke with Flare trying to wake him up in the self destructing generator room shortly after, showing that the blast briefly knocked him out. "Claw! Come on Claw, please!" Claw was then shown rubbing his head as he sat up, noticing Marshall keeping Sunshine tied up while carrying him. "Oh, thank God! Are you okay!?"

Claw could at least say he was awake, but he didn't know so much about how he could walk. "I hope so." Claw was about to stand up, only to wince as he did. This worried Flare immensely, and it was made clear that Claw took the blast the worst out of all of them. He wouldn't be able to walk all that well, and i was clear in his eyes that if any of the pups died on this mission, it would be him. "Hehe. Never thought I'd face burns this badly."

Flare looked to Chase and Marshall, who found themselves unable to help the adult dragon, leaving Chase to give Marshall a command. "Take Sunshine and run Marshall! I'll take care of Flare and Claw!"

Marshall nodded in response and rushed off, leaving Claw to tell Flare not to bother as he started carrying him to the elevator. "Leave me here Flare! I'll only slow you down!"

"No! I'm not leaving you behind!" Flare assured Claw, moving as fast as he could before Chase came out from the other shoulder and smiled to them both. Flare appreciated this and smiled back, and Claw was left astounded. The pups really did want him to make it out alive. Flare and Chase then ran as fast as they could to get to the elevator in time, and Marshall was just getting Sunshine in and holding it open. It was persistent, but so was Marshall. He refused to let the elevator close early.

As Marshall kept the elevator door open, Flare and Chase threw Claw in, having him land next to Sunshine as Flare then jumped in. He then helped Chase in with the explosions leading right up to the elevator door just as it was closing. Thankfully, no more serious injuries were met, and the elevator rose, in spite of it's damages.

Claw had no idea what to say as he was sitting up. The pups he betrayed risked their lives for him just now. Did he really mean that much to them? If so, then maybe he DID deserve a home that cared about him. Maybe he DID deserve a happy life after all. And he didn't have to resort to immoral moves to make it happen. He started crying when he thought about this, which caught the attention of everyone else. Marshall spoke up first, hoping Claw was okay. "Claw... what's wrong? Besides... everything we just endured."

Claw then revealed these to be happy tears when looking up at Marshall and answering his question. "I just realized... I DO deserve a happy life."

Flare, Marshall, and Chase could tell that Claw was past the worst of his pain now. Seeing as they had a quiet moment now, Flare looked to Marshall with immense guilt in his eyes and hugged him. Marshall wrapped his arms around his younger brother, who knew he wanted to say this before it was too late. His sadness was made clear in the tone of his voice. "Oh Marshall. I'm sorry I said I hated you."

"Trust me. I'm more concerned about the fact that you came up here on your own." Marshall assured Flare, having already forgiven him for his harsh words. There was still the talk they wanted to have after this, and Marshall knew it wasn't going to be easy.

Everyone else was taking on Charm and the remaining dragons outside his base with Ryder trying once again to get into contact with Chase. "Chase!?" Ryder dodged the strike of the female teenage dragon, knocking her out with a swift karate chop as he filled the others in. "Guys! I lost contact with Chase!"

"WHAT!?" Skye shouted, being horrified at the thought of her friends, especially her boyfriend, having died down there. "Y-y-you don't think they..."

Everest made sure to comfort Skye just in case, knowing that this would be hard for her if it did. "Let's keep our heads up Skye. The base is still standing; maybe they're on their way now."

Snow, who was fighting with one paw, assisted Richie against Charm by using her taser to try and stun him. This failed however, as he dodged the taser and grabbed the lines before pulling her in. Snow used this to her advantage and picked up a nearby rock while grabbing the taser with her mouth just before he pulled. She waited until just the right moment and used the rock to slash at him as fast as she could. He closed his eyes when this happened, and on Charm, was landed a scar on his right eye, leaving Snow to tumble as she flew past Charm.

Charm felt the scar for a moment before after blocking Richie's dash kick, being impressed that Snow was able to land a blow on him. He couldn't help grinning as Snow then stood up and declared what that was for. "And that, was for imprisoning my sister!"

Charm dodged Richie's sword slash just as Trickery appeared to give the group double trouble, and Ryder was fighting off against the adult dragon with Rocky and Zuma, who were trying their best not to kill it as Ryder spoke up. "If I can get on his back, maybe I can knock him out with a neck chop!" Rocky and Zuma nodded to each other and acted as an assist, diving down at the dragon's legs and slashing at it with a duo claw scratch. Their claws were strong enough to make the dragon fall thanks to Rocky, and he fell on his stomach in pain.

Ryder then took the chance to karate chop his neck, knocking him out and managing to avoid killing him. Zuma then knocked the female child dragon out as Ryder praised them for that move. "Nice work you too." Rocky and Zuma gave two thumb up, just as explosions were heard from nearby. This made everyone except for Charm and Trickery fear what could be happening to Flare, Marshall, Chase, and Claw.

Inside the base, Flare and the others were rushing out of the base at full speed, rushing down the hallway to the front door as the generator explosions got to the main building. They saw the front door in their sights after the first turn, and they pups all nodded to each other, knowing they had to get out of there. Flare and Chase kept running while carrying Claw, and Marshall made sure Sunshine was tightly in his arms. Chase kicked the door open, and just as he did, all five of them got out of the base. And just in time too, as they were then blown forward by a massive...

BOOOOOOOM

...Charm's base exploded. Adventure Bay was safe, and the energy he stole was now going back to Adventure Bay. It was at the cost of two other dragons, but they couldn't loom on that for now, Richie glared to Charm and Trickery, only for his demonic powers to wear off. He fell to his knee and started breathing heavily with his hair turning back to white. As Flare and the others were getting back up, Flare was the first to notice Richie's condition. "Oh no, Richie!"

Ryder and Rocky helped Richie with Charm smirking as he took out his knife, ready to kill whoever he had to. "Such a shame. That's what he gets for prioritizing his human half." A bullet was fired at Charm's foot, making him flinch as he then looked to see Snow shooting at him. "Ha! Have fun believing you can stop me! My base may be gone, but at least I can make one of you die!" The adult dragon woke up and glared at Snow upon Charm's command. "As if anyone could knock you out for long. Kill the younger Husky!"

As soon as the dragon started doing this, Caiohme looked at the Dragon's Tooth and knew she had to at least try to stop the attack. Even if it didn't work, she could at least make an attempt to stop Snow's demise. She rose the Dragon's Tooth as high as she could, and then slammed it onto Chase's car door. Amazingly, this smashed the tooth to bits, leading to the dragon turning back to normal, and needing to regain his surroundings a bit after recovering. Caiohme was amazed that worked, and so were everyone else once they took notice to it.

The dragon then set his sights on Charm, who wasn't scared in the slightest before reminding the dragon of who he was up against. "Don't forget buddy. I killed some of your friends last year without any struggle." The dragon backed down upon remembering Charm, who looked around and saw how outnumbered he was. And almost everyone in his army was now dead. He knew his chances of winning were too low to risk taking, and he looked to Trickery after sighing in defeat, knowing fighting onward would be pointless. "Trickery. Do the thing."

Trickery nodded and took his card out, surprising everyone as Claw called over to them in as his rage towards Charm intensified. "No, you do NOT get to quit now!" Charm looked at Claw and signaled Trickery to wait, walking over to him as Claw ripped into everything he did. "Is that how you want to end things!? Almost ruining my life, using me, endangering my family, trying to destroy Adventure Bay, and injuring my friends!?" Charm knelt down to Claw, who shouted at him as loud as he could. "YOU DON'T GET TO JUST WALK AWAY FROM THAT!"

Charm swatted Chase's gun out of his paw before he could aim it at him, explaining to Claw why he was retreating. "You can't expect me to try and take you all on with just two beings to fight Claw. And even if you did, I have to rebuild my army. Perhaps for my next attack, I can have my soldiers not be so incompetent." Charm gave a smug grin as he pointed out how Claw just missed a big chance in his life. "It's just a shame I can't start with someone as brain dead as you."

Claw spat in Charm's face, showing just how much he despised him now. As Charm wiped the spit from his face, Claw gave him the most scathing comment he could think of. "I hope you die. I hope you die, so I can spit on your grave, and smash the tombstone, just like you deserve!" Charm wasn't at all bothered by these comments, whereas with Claw, he was more than satisfied to end his life in Charm's army. "The next time I see you will end with a knife in your neck!" Charm walked off after that with Claw making one last comment towards him. "DROP! DEAD!"

Charm snapped his fingers, leading to Trickery using one of his cards to send him and Charm off, allowing Chase to take down the barrier on his car. As Snow walked over to Flare, the Dalmatian asked her something that shocked her when he saw his arm and expressed immense concern over. It was a question she didn't even think he'd want an answer to. "Are you okay?"

Snow couldn't believe that Flare still worried about her after that. She practically abused him, and he still wanted to make sure she was alright. Did she really deserve a friend this amazing? After she physically hurt him? All she could do now was answer his question as honestly as she could. "Outside of my broken arm... yeah. Consider this my karma."

Flare and the others went over to the vehicles, leaving the four inside to burst out and call to the pups.

"Flare! Marshall!"

"Claw!"

Flare and Marshall hugged their mother and sister instantly, feeling the warm embrace as they made it clear how happy they were that they made it out. They had a lot they needed to talk about, but for now, they were just relieved to see each other again. As for Sweetie and Caiohme, they happily embraced Claw, who couldn't help crying tears of joy before wrapping his arms around them. They really did forgive him. He still had those he could love and grow up with. After all of that, the pups got what they needed. A moment of peace and love.

Chase also went over to Skye, being immensely worried about her, especially after seeing her broken leg. She smiled to him before he kissed her gently on the cheek, wanting to get her medical help as fast as possible. Thankfully, they did have one more stop to make before they went home, and it would give her the attention she needed.

After waiting a few more seconds, Ryder spoke up about what they had to do with the other dragons. "I hate to interrupt the moment, but we have to get these dragons back to Dragon's Hamlet. The cold temperatures could kill them." The pups all nodded in response, ready to get the dragons back the best they could. The adult male dragon offered to help by lifting up the teenage dragon Ryder knocked out. He smiled and gave a thumbs up, appreciative of the help he was offering.

On the way to Dragon's Hamlet, Snow was shown to be feeling horrible about the way she treated Flare. Rocky, Zuma, and Skye were as well, but it was a whole other level for Snow. She couldn't help wondering if she still deserved to have Flare as a friend after that. She knew for sure that friends never physically hurt each other like that out of anger. And right before his birthday too. Snow put her car on auto-drive to cleanse her thoughts. It was a good thing she did though, because she couldn't help having a flash back to when she talked to Flare after they saved Everest.

The flashback began with Flare looking at Snow with immense guilt after making her worry so much about him during the mission. After a few seconds, he spoke up. "I'm so sorry Snow." Snow let Flare speak, and as he explained himself, she understood further what his motives were. "My mom always told me that a promise was a form of building trust. And if you break it, you let down the one you make the promise to." Flare sighed, knowing that he took his dedication to the promise too far. "I never even considered that there was a limit to that. It was really messed up of me to make you fear for my life, and I'm so, sorry Snow. I never wanted to hurt you."

Snow was surprised by that last part. Sure she was upset with Flare over the stunt she pulled, but she wouldn't say she was 'hurt' by it. She just couldn't understand why Flare would risk his life for her. "You never hurt me Flare." Flare was surprised to hear that, and then Snow spoke about what she meant. "I just hated that you put your life in danger just to keep some dumb promise that, while I appreciate more than anything, I never asked for. (Rubs arm) I never wanted you to risk your life just to help me. I'm... I'm not worth it."

Flare instantly put his paws on Snow's shoulders after hearing that, wanting her to know how much she meant to him in the time they've known each other. "Don't say that! You're more than worth it!" Snow looked into Flare's eyes. She saw that his words were sincere, and that his care for her was genuine. "Maybe not out of the stupidity I showed today, but if I had to choose between saving my own life or yours, or anyone I cared for... I would choose to save your life." Snow was touched by those words, and Flare then finished what he had to say. "So don't ever, ever tell me, that you're not worth it."

Snow couldn't help but smile upon hearing that. She knew Flare would be someone she could always trust no matter what. "If you really mean that... then I'll honor that request." Flare was glad to hear that, and then he became surprised when Snow kissed his right cheek, which made him blush softly as she then explained it. "That's for being the sweetest thing ever." Snow then punched Flare's right cheek; it wasn't very hard, but Flare could still feel it. "And that's for being stupid. (Smirks) Next time you risk your life for me, at least make sure you can fight back."

Snow walked off and left Flare to think about the talk they had with Flare not being sure what to make of the kiss. As he watched Snow walk off, he thought about what she could've been trying to tell him with that kiss, and as Snow walked off, she smiled with relief. She was glad to be able to talk to Flare about what happened, and she couldn't be happier to have him in her life. What he did was reckless, of course, but it was also a clear sign of just how far he was willing to go to help those he cared about.

Snow's remorse was undeniable, and she looked to Flare, who was sitting beside the window of Marshall's fire truck as he contemplated what happened. Another question entered Snow's mind as she saw him in Marshall's truck. Would he even want to stay after how the others treated him?

The Paw Patrol were now in Dragon's Hamlet, and Flare was sitting beside Sunshine on his bed, with the others in the hospital with them, and the others who were injured. Ryder was explaining to Sunshine everything that'd happened, and he was absolutely devastated. He couldn't believe that he'd lost two of his fellow dragons in the event that took place earlier that day. The fact that he was being brainwashed by the Dragon's Tooth made it even more harsh for him. He wasn't crying, thanks to Flare hugging him, but he definitely felt like he would later.

Sunshine pulled Flare away with Ryder apologizing for what happened, wishing he could've saved the dragons who died. "I'm sorry things happened the way they did Sunshine."

Claw then stepped up, feeling that he should be the one to apologize instead of Ryder. "I'm sorry too. It's my fault Charm had the Dragon's Tooth in the first place." It was clear that Claw felt awful for getting some of Sunshine's fellow dragons killed. That was another thing he wished he could've taken back. "If any of us should be blamed for the deaths of your friends... it should be me."

Sweetie couldn't lie; she was impressed by what she saw. Claw had seriously matured since he started living with the Paw Patrol. That was further shown as Sunshine responded to Claw's apology. "You said he used you, right? While you guys were telling me what happened." Claw nodded his head yes in response. That was enough for Sunshine to forgive him. "I don't know anything about this stuff, but that sounds a lot like brainwashing to me. Without the Dragon's Tooth, of course."

Claw was glad to see that Sunshine didn't hold him accountable for the deaths of his friends. Flare was also quick to assure Sunshine that the team was there if he needed them. "We plan on staying for a bit before we head back to Adventure Bay. Maybe we can have some fun before I talk to my family." Sunshine still needed time to grieve, but right now, all he could really think about was playing. It's a good thing Flare was there for him to do that with. Snow grabbed Everest's paw and signaled her to to talk in private, leading to the two Huskies heading off.

Snow and Everest were behind the Dragon's Hamlet hospital with Everest wondering what Snow wanted to talk about. Luckily, Snow was ready to get straight to the point to avoid wasting time. "I'm not sure if you noticed, but Skye, Rocky, Zuma and I are dealing with a lot of regret right now."

"Yeah, I did notice something while we were getting ready to leave Jake's Mountain." Everest admitted, and then she assured Snow that she would be able to fix whatever was going on. "Don't worry though. Whatever happened, I'm sure it's nothing you can't fix."

"Well..." Snow began, getting to the biggest part of her explanation so Everest had the full picture. "After we found out what was going on... we all got super stressed and angry. And we took it out on Flare." Everest was shocked by that, leaving Snow to clarify something else. "Chase and Marshall didn't for the record. Neither did Ryder." Everest listened closely as Snow told her exactly what she and the others did. "Skye was too scared to do or say anything... Rocky blurted out an apparent secret Marshall was keeping... and Zuma snapped at Flare for convincing us to trust Claw."

Everest took a step closer with concern, hoping that Snow wasn't about to say she did anything worse. "That all sounds pretty uncalled for. You said you took it out on Flare too. How did you do it?"

Snow's heart ached as she thought about how she hurt Flare again. She looked to Everest with eyes of clear remorse and fear, not wanting to lose her best friend. "I slapped him." Everest couldn't believe the words that came from Snow's mouth. She never would've expected her to do that to anyone she cared about. Snow made it as clear as day that she regretted it more than anything. "It was just like dad. A fit of rage taken to the extreme with one smack across the face." Snow clenched her fists as she almost started crying from her remorse. "How do I even apologize to someone for hurting them like that?"

Everest knew that Snow wasn't like their father, and she didn't want her having those thoughts either. She wiped the tears that started forming and assured her that she was better than their dad. "You're nothing like him Snow. Your regret alone proves that." Snow looked to Everest, who gave her a supportive smile to assure her that it'll all be okay. "Trust me. After we get home, Flare will at least let you speak about what happened. Hopefully that also leads to him forgiving you, along with the others."

Snow nodded in response, wanting that more than anything now that Charm was stopped again. "It's the one thing I want more than anything right now." Everest offered Snow a hug, which she happily accepted while holding her tears back. She knew Everest wanted her to stay strong, and that she would have to for when Flare confronted her over what she did. Flare was the greatest thing that ever happened to her ever since Everest was captured by Charm. And the last thing she ever wanted was to drive him away because her anger went too far.

Flare was talking to Ryder outside the hospital, where he was filling him in on what he wanted to do as the others were getting ready to leave. "I think it's only fair that I let my family talk about this before talking to everyone else. Then, I wanna talk to you on the way home, in private with our pup pads. I'll talk to the others when I get back."

Ryder took note of all of that, glad to see that Flare was at least willing to talk to the others about this. He hoped he was willing to at least try to forgive them. "I can't tell you how to feel about this Flare, but I hope you know that the others still care about you."

Flare nodded in response, knowing that Ryder would know that better than everyone. "I've already made my decision. You'll know when we talk later." Ryder rubbed Flare's head for comfort, and Flare then allowed him to get back to the others so he could talk to his family. "You should head back with the others. God knows they need some rest after the day we've had."

Ryder laughed a bit, knowing just how right Flare was about that. "You don't have to tell ME twice." Ryder then stood up, waving to the Munroe family before hopping onto his ATV and heading off with the others. After they headed off, Flare looked back at his family, knowing that he had a lot to say to them.

Flare walked over to Marshall, Margareth, and Wave, who all waited patiently for what he had to say. Flare didn't want any awkward silences, so he started the conversation. "I'm sorry I drove up to Charm's base on my own. It was stupid, and if I hadn't remembered my training with the Paw Patrol, I could've gotten myself killed. I should've at least tried to talk to you Marshall. I shouldn't have snapped like that and stolen your fire truck after-" Flare felt a massive gut punch upon remembering the part he mentioned most as he looked to Marshall with intense guilt. "...saying I hated you."

Marshall didn't hold any ill will towards Flare for that, and he showed that by being the first to hug him. Margareth looked to Wave, who nodded to let her know that this was Marshall's time. Marshall made it clear that above everything else, Flare was his top priority, no matter what. "I shouldn't have gone behind your back." Flare let Marshall speak, wishing he'd done that earlier. "I got so scared that dad's time with Slash would've made you a target for Charm." Marshall then pulled Flare away to finish what he had to say. "But that's no excuse for what I did."

Flare refrained from speaking in case Marshall had more to say, which he did. This time, it was about what Flare said before he ran off. "And even after our fight... the thing I worried about most was whether or not you'd be get out of Charm's base alive." Flare saw that Marshall was being genuine. The look in his eyes made that clear from the start. "Sorry doesn't even begin to show how much I regret being a part in the pressure you were hit with to go up there on your own, as dumb of a move as it was."

"It was still stupid! I should've at least told Ryder so he knew to act upon it!" Flare responded, knowing that nothing could make what he did okay. Especially with the last thing he said to Marshall before he made that move. "And we lost two dragons in the process. If I didn't run off like that, we might've saved them too."

Marshall didn't want Flare blaming himself, especially since they didn't know for sure what would've happened if he didn't run off. "We don't know that for sure Flare." Flare's look of remorse and sadness didn't fade, making it clear to Marshall that this was the most emotional he'd ever been before. "And if I didn't break my promise to you, you would've never gone out of your way to save the others yourself in the first place. And things wouldn't have gotten as heated as they did."

Flare held back his tears again, not wanting to bring all of the attention to himself. He knew he needed to say these things to Marshall before they went home. "I felt horrible for saying I hated you as soon as I ran off. That's not something anyone should ever feel the need to say to their own families." Marshall, Margareth, and Wave could feel Flare's emotions in this moment. It was clear that he wanted with all of his heart to let Marshall know he loved him. "I almost lost you. Before I could take it back."

Marshall put his paws on Flare's shoulders and looked to him with a loving smile. No matter what happened, Flare was always Marshall's top priority over everything else. "As much as what you said hurt me... the only thing I cared about was bringing you home." Flare looked at Marshall, who then clarified what he meant for him. "And this time, when I say it's up to you... I mean it." Flare felt better when he heard that, and Wave signaled Marshall to let someone else have a turn with a tap of his shoulder, which made him laugh a bit. "Oh, right."

Marshall stepped back to Wave with Margareth walking over to Flare and hugging him as tightly as she could. Being the protective big sister she was, she was horrified the very moment she heard Flare was in danger. "Please Flare; don't ever do anything that stupid again!" Flare was struggling a bit to breathe thanks to Margareth's hug, but he was still breathing well enough to hug her back. "Mom and I were worried sick about you. I wanted to charge into Charm's base and bust you out of there myself!"

"I'm glad you didn't." Flare responded with a light chuckle, knowing that Margareth going in there would've been even dumber. He still felt awful for worrying her though, and empathized with the fear she had for his safety. "The last thing I ever wanted was to put you guys in danger."

"Just promise me you'll never put yourself in danger like that again!" Margareth begged before pulling Flare away, not wanting to lose him or Marshall to the likes of Charm. "You deserve to live a full life. You and Marshall both deserve to live full lives. I don't want that sociopath taking that away from you."

Flare understood that completely, as he felt the same way regarding his friends and family. That was a big part of why he wanted to join the Paw Patrol after he moved to Adventure Bay with Marshall. And he knew the other pups felt that way too, despite what happened right before his fight with Marshall. "I don't want that either Margareth." Flare looked to Margareth while giving the sincerest apology he could for how much he scared them. "I'm sorry I made you worry about me. (Looks at Wave) That goes for you too mom."

Margareth signaled Wave that she could have her turn now, and when the two swapped places, Wave knelt down to Flare and gave him a loving smile in response to his apology. "I certainly wasn't expecting you to put your life at risk so suddenly three days before your birthday." Flare couldn't help feeling remorse as he heard that, looking at the ground as he did. But when he felt his mother's paw on his head, he looked back up and saw that she wasn't upset with him at all. "Then again, you have your father in you as well."

Wave obviously wasn't happy about what Flare did, but she was so happy to see him safe that all she could do was talk about how brave he was. "Believe it or not, your father had a habit of sometimes rushing in blind during missions. He was either driven by a desire to protect us, and the residents of Twin Flame Island, or just excited to see what he was going up against that day." Flare had to admit. As bad as he felt, knowing he had something in common with his father certainly helped. "He said luck was on his side after some of his missions. Hehe. Shame I don't believe in that."

Flare laughed a bit, making it clear that the talk with his family was working. Wave wasn't done yet, making it clear how she felt about Flare's situation. "Listen closely Flare. What you did was insanely risky, if not deadly." Flare waited for his mom to finish, which she did with an uplifting note to end her words on. "Even so, you've proven that you have what it takes to be a hero, just like your father." Wave then looked back to Marshall, who smiled after she said what she did to add him into that one. "You and your brother both."

After that, the Munroe family came together for a group hug, one that they desperately needed after they day they had. The warm embrace lifted their spirits just as much as the words they all said would for each other. They were always full of love an support, even when it looked like they weren't. Flare broke up the hug to announce that he was ready for the next part of his plan. "Let's head back to the Lookout. And I'll call Ryder on the way there." Marshall, Margareth, and Wave were on board with that, and they headed to Marshall's fire truck with Flare.

When they got there, Marshall filled Flare on something that he felt he needed to hear. "And Flare... when we get back there, just remember that your feelings matter. You can express them however you want, so long as you don't hurt anyone." Flare knew that was in regards to his sadness and anger, which he rarely did express, if ever. "Don't be afraid to speak how you feel." Flare nodded in response, smiling as he picked up Marshall's Pup-Pad to talk to Ryder. He knew that with this clarify, he'd be more comfortable during the last part of his plan.

Back at the Lookout, everyone else was waiting for the Munroe family to get back, and Chase was doing what he could to help Skye feel better about her broken leg. "Believe it or not, there is an upside to this Skye." Skye looked at Chase, who filled her in on the upside she was talking about. "We all know how much you love flying. And after Ryder fixes your wings, this injury will give you the perfect excuse to fly around more often. Maybe even for designing Flare's birthday party. God knows that'll be safer than a ladder with you doing the flying."

Skye smiled softly, being grateful for the support from Chase, despite the lingering tension in the room. "Thanks for that Chase. I definitely need some positivity after what's been going on today."

Just then, Ryder got a call on his Pup-Pad and filled the others in on it as he headed outside. "Flare's calling for his private chat. Richie, you're in charge."

"Noted." Richie assured Ryder, and then Richie decided to bring up another positive to Skye's injury with a sly grin. "You can also have Chase be your slave until you heal." Chase snorted upon hearing that, knowing that Richie's words were more than true, despite it being a joke.

Ryder was outside the Lookout, answering Flare's call to let him talk about what happened. "Hey there Munroe family. Hope everything's going better than before."

"Oh, it is Ryder. Don't worry." Flare assured Ryder, and then he started talking about what was going to happen now that everything was out in the open. "Marshall and I talked more about why he told you not to let me join. Did he tell you that our dad worked with Slash before he met our mom?"

Ryder knew that name sounded familiar, and why it was familiar as soon as he heard it. "He did. That's Charm and Rocky's father, right?"

"Yep." Flare confirmed with a head nod, and now that everyone had that context, Flare spoke up more about his plans. "The plan is still gonna go the way I wanted it to from the start. After I end the call, I'm gonna get ready to talk to the others at the Lookout. Whatever happens... I know they at least deserve closure on what happened." Ryder gave a thumbs up in response, seeing that Flare was still thinking about everyone the best he could. "Even though you can probably tell what's gonna happen... I think I should let you see it for yourself."

"Fair enough." Ryder responded, and then he had a question in mind for Flare, which he hoped he'd be willing to answer. "Actually, there is something I'd like to know before that." Flare listened closely, and Ryder gave a sincere look to him as he asked what was on his mind. "Do you still want to join the Paw Patrol?"

To be continued.

The title Paw Patrol X came onto the screen with the words Paw Patrol linked in blue with read outlines as Flare then spoke over the words that came underneath it as an instrumental version of the main theme played. "Don't worry everyone; we have one more chapter for this season! Tune in next time for the season two epilogue chapter: Flare's Decision!"
