The three doctors began laughing, "He seriously believe that I wasn't here?" Cameron couldn't stop, by now they had left House's apartment and were sitting at a nearby café laughing over coffee.
"Yes, only moments after I had told him you weren't there, it's as if he had followed me there!" Wilson replied, "Oh that reminds me!" Wilson dialed Chase, "Chase, its Wilson…yes the case of the missing doctor is solved! No actually she was at the mall, shopping of course! She said she forgot about last night, some family thing came up and she was distracted and out of town last night…yea I know go figure! So anyway she says to say she's sorry and next time she'll remember to call, no she's having coffee with me and House, what can't we go shopping? Yea ok, I'll pass it on, bye"
House glared at Wilson, "You said we were shopping?"
"Yes otherwise her alibi wouldn't stick, oh and by the way, Chase wants to know if drinks tonight are possible?" Wilson asked
"He wants to go out tonight? I can't my holidays start Monday and I promised my mum I'd go home this time!" Cameron answered
"You don't have holidays coming up" House replied
"Yes I do, I went to Cuddy, I knew you wouldn't let me" Cameron smirked
"I like her" Wilson stated, "She knows how to get time off!"
"Cuddy only gave her time because she's a female" House grumbled
"No she gave me time off because you've refused my last four attempts! I've been working flat out for the last 8 months House!" Cameron snapped
"And we're back to last night" House mumbled
"You're the one initiating it again, damn it House can't we get along for longer than a day?" Cameron sighed, "Now I'm leaving tonight, and I won't be back for two weeks, end of story"
Wilson glanced between the two shaking his head, "I swear if I didn't know you two so damn well I'd think you were married!"
House sat in contemplation, "Can I come?"
Cameron's mouth opened and closed in silence, "You what?"
"I want to come, is that so hard for you to decipher?" House snarled, "Everyone thinks I have ulterior motives with everything I say or do!"
"That's because you usually do" Wilson replied
"The reality is irrelevant, it's just so annoying. Yes I want to come with you; you heard my sordid past, now I want to know yours! It's a fair swap" House sculled the rest of his coffee
Wilson's jaw dropped, "You told her?"
"Oh don't act surprised, she saw the box" House looked away, pain evident on his face
"I guess it will be ok" Cameron piped up, the awkwardness of the situation lessening, "I'll just tell mum to expect one more"
"I'll call Cuddy" House opened his phone, "Ah Doctor Cuddy; yes it's me…what makes you think I'm in trouble? Actually Dr. Cameron has invited me to her parents place…ok so I invited myself! We're playing alls far in telling truths…she saw the box. Why is this a big deal with everyone? So can I have the same amount off? They will be fine, let Wilson run them, he'll be lonely…thank you bye" Looking back at Cameron and Wilson, "I can go, mummy said so!"
Alright I'll just call mine" Cameron smiled softly dialing home, "Hey mum, no I'm still coming; actually that's what I need to talk to you about…no his fine with the break, actually he wants to come if that's ok? Are you sure? Well ok then, I'll see you tonight ok? Ok love you bye" Clicking the phone shut, "You've got half and hour to pack before I start driving down" Cameron took a sip of her coffee, "Well go on, shoo"
"Ok, Ok mummy" House pulled a face, before walking back across the street.
Cameron's phone went off, "Dr. Cameron, hey Chase. No actually I have a family thing on; no seriously I'm driving down tonight…no I don't think he'll be there Monday, just a hunch. Ok well I have to go, ok bye Chase"
"The ever persistent work colleague; so do you think it's a wise decision letting House meet the folks? He doesn't even see his parents if her can help it!" Wilson tried to sound like he was looking out for both sides
"I don't know, he asked himself along…I guess I'll see how it goes" Cameron replied
A smile graced her lips when she saw her boss walk, well limp, across the road with a few bags and his cane, "Ok mum I'm ready can we go now?"
Wilson glanced at Cameron giving her a slight nod, "You two go; I'll be fine"
Cameron gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, "I'll see you in a few weeks"
"Ok, have fun, oh and House behave yourself!" Wilson laughed at their retreating backs.

They had been on the road for about three; maybe four hours before House got agitated, "What?" Cameron asked looking over
"It's nothing" House mumbled trying to dull the pain in his leg by biting his tongue, it was not working!
Cameron watched him out of the corner of her eye and saw him repeatedly rub his thigh, seeing a roadhouse ahead she pulled over, "Why are we stopping?"
"I'm hungry, besides I figured we could use a leg stretch" She smiled walking into the small building
He couldn't help but smirk at her abnormal ability to judge him, after dry swallowing two vicoden he followed her in. She was seated at a booth near the back, talking animatedly to a waitress.
"House" she called, "What do you want?"
"Anything" he replied making his way over, "I'm not fussed at this point"
"Make that two then Betty, thanks"
"Anytime Ally" the elderly waitress smiled down at Cameron
House gave her a weird look, "What?"
"Come here much?" he smirked for the second time
"Yea, a lot actually; my dad used to take me on his runs when I was little, this was our first and last stop every time" Cameron reminisced
"So your dads a truck driver?" House queried
"Oh no, his the local sheriff and ranger; its easier being both when apprehending wrong doers in the forest around here"
"So you live around here then?"
"About 5miles down the road, this is my district" Cameron smiled proudly, "It's only a small area in the middle of no where, but it's been home most of my life"
"Interesting, you're a country bumpkin; now everything makes sense!" House exclaimed, "You're always so nice and caring because it was your childhood…the puzzle of Allison Cameron is complete!"
Cameron looked at him weirdly, "You think because I live out here that I'm nice and caring because of it? Wow, you really do have a lot to learn" Cameron shot him down as their meal arrived
"Well now Cameron, you really did pick a stunner!" Betty exclaimed, "You know we're all so happy that you've finally been able to place Brian's death in the past, there is no way he'd want you to be that sad" she smiled softly before walking away muttering about Cameron and her former husband
"So I take it I'm the new thing?" House puffed up his chest
"Oh stop it would you, my mum just misunderstood my words" Cameron hushed him
The Roadhouse doors opened and a rowdy group of men walked in, "The usual Betty" They called as they took a table; one of them stopped and stared at House and Cameron, "Shoot me dead, is that you? Ally Cameron?"
Cameron looked up, "Jordan?" Cameron's eye went wide
The man in question came over sliding in next to Cameron, House gave him a death glare but he ignored it, "Yep, how you been Ally? Found a new man yet?"
"Actually…" Cameron began
House cut her off, "Allison dear we should get going"
Cameron stared at him as if she'd seen a ghost, "So I take that as a yes to my question" Jordan sighed, "Jordan Muttle" He produced a dirty hand to House
"Dr. Greg House" Hose took his hand easily before motioning for Cameron to leave with him, "Sorry to cut this reunion short, but Allison we're already late"
Cameron shook her head riding it of the images of House from the past few minutes, "Yes, oh crap you're right; well I'll see you around ok?" Cameron motioned to move, Jordan complied letting her out. It was then that he noticed House's cane.
"Man what happened to you?" He couldn't help but burst
"Simple terms?" Jordan nodded, "It's strain from this one" House pointed at Cameron, who hit him, "Come on you, move it"
"Loving couple" Jordan whispered as they left.
Once inside the car Cameron exploded, "What was that in there?"
"What was what?"
"Does 'Allison dear' ring a bell?"
"You can thank me later, if I hadn't done that you would have spent your entire break avoiding him"
"Oh really, well thank you! Word travels faster than cars in this town" Cameron sighed head hitting the steering wheel, "By the time I get home my whole family will think I've gotten married or something without telling them!"
"Oh calm down, I said dear! For all they know I could be gay!" House placed a hand on her shoulder
"Oh I supposed you forgot your reasoning for your bum leg too!"
"Oh, yea that; lets just get to your place and deal with what comes"
"Fine" Cameron started the engine, speeding off down the highway, within minutes they had reached the driveway. Cameron stopped once again, "What if they think there's more to us?"
"Then we set them straight"
"Ok, you set them straight, you got us into this"
Taking a deep breath Cameron drove up the drive parking outside the front door. Immediately it opened and a red faced women came running out.
A/N: Just a little note, the updates might be as slow as they have been…it's only because I don't have access to the net at my new house yet, but I'm working on using the school system as often as I can…Hope you enjoy this update. Sorry for any delays that will come with my fictions, it's unintentional and hard to get around.
