"I can't live outside them Allison, people get hurt too easily" House tried once more to dissuade her
"No you mean you get hurt to easily. Outside in the real world, everyone gets hurt and they move on. But you! You stay stuck Greg, you don't want someone to love you because then you can't be miserable anymore, you can't have the upper hand with everyone. Only you don't realise that even if you are happy and with someone, you don't have to change, you don't have to be romantic and loveable. You can be you, only with someone else as well" Cameron sat up this time glaring at him
"Who would want a miserable, crippled bastard?" House growled
"ME!" Cameron cried, "I want you, the miserable, crippled bastard that you are!"
'Come off it, you only said moments ago now or never, what happened to that?' "Iloveyouwillyoumarryme" he blurted
Cameron faltered, "What?"
"I said…iloveyouwillyoumarryme" once again running the words together
"One word at a time please" she could see House going red
House shuffled in his seat next to her, "I said…I lo..love you"
Cameron's jaw dropped, "There was more to that sentence"
House took a deep breath, "I also said, well asked if you would…if you would…ah…ma…will you marry me?" he asked let go of his breath.
Cameron just sat there staring at him, "Are you crazy?"
"Some have said that yes" his usually bright grin was fading, "I'm not joking around, I mean it…that's what Stacey and I were arguing about earlier. I don't have a ring on me, but if you want we can go buy one…that's if you say yes" House stopped, he was babbling. This holiday wasn't meant to go like this, they were supposed to come here, him find information and go back, single, alone and still angry at each other for some reason or another.
"I…er…well…yes" she replied, her words sounding foreign to even herself.
"Yes? You said yes" House's face lit up like a Christmas tree
"I guess…yea, I mean yes" Cameron smiled, "Are you sure?"
"Yea, I'm sure…not like me but I'm sure" House grinned at her, watching as she dropped her body back onto the couch, before he knew what he was still doing, he lent down and gently kissed her lips, "Thank you"
Cameron was shocked at first, "For what?"
"Giving me life again" he stated simply, "I don't think I would ever have had the guts to do that ever…especially to you"
"Why me though? Stacey was obviously willing to come back" Cameron asked looking at him.
"I don't know, it wouldn't have worked with Stacey, we're too different now…always were but it never seemed to be a problem until now"
"What's Wilson going to say?" Cameron thought out loud, "What's the hospital going to think?"
"I gave up caring what they thought years ago, they will more than likely think I knocked you up over the time away and need to get married because of religion…which then wouldn't work because you're an atheist. Besides, I'm more worried about what your family is going to say when they come back and find I asked their 'golden girl' to marry me…without asking your dad…oh shit I'm dead"
"How do you know about 'Golden Girl'?" Cameron asked
"First night interrogation" House replied, "Asked about new boyfriends, explained that you haven't laughed since Brian died, which by the way isn't true. Then accused me of being the reason for the laughter"
The front door opened, "Oh my lord, Allison what happened here?" Harriet called
"Crap, forgot to throw it out" Cameron cursed, "I dropped a plate, fainted and woke up in there" Cameron replied walking into the kitchen.
"Oh sweetheart, are you ok? How's Greg doing?"
"I cut my leg with the knife somehow and he's fine. In the lounge actually" Cameron answered, "Where have you been?"
"Shopping, need food to feed you while you're here"
"We've been here for a week already mum, and you're just getting food?" Cameron asked, "What's going on?"
"Nothing, just some family coming over" Harriet grinned
"Why is the family coming over mum?"
"No reason, just you're in town, they're in town…seemed natural to have a sit down meal" Harriet was still grinning
"No it's not, they live here, they all live here…how's Greg supposed to handle all of them? He is still stiff you know" Cameron whispered tersely
"I don't know, I just thought it would be nice" Harriet's grin dropped
"Ok mum, we can have the dinner, but ext time please, give warning" Cameron hugged her.

John entered the lounge, "Greg, how you feeling?"
"I less sore, Al…Cameron gave me a massage to get rid of some tension" House replied, "You?"
"I'm good, just been shopping, we've got family coming around tonight again, but this time there will be more" John began, "If you need anything important done, we better get it done now"
House stared at his feet, "Mr Cameron…John…I need to ask you something, is there a policy with asking your family members to marry?"
"Not strictly no, why?" John grinned slightly at House
"Well…I was, I just asked Allison to marry me" House decided it was best to get it out now, rather than later, "So I have an important thing to get from town"
"You did what?" John was shocked, he knew Harriet was right, but this…"Oh my, did she say yes?"
"I think that was the general consensus yes" House was holding his breath
"Well I guess there is only one thing to do" John rose, "Harriet, Greg and I are going into town to make sure we've got enough beer for the boys when they come"
"Ok dear, just be careful with Greg won't you" Harriet smiled as they walked through the kitchen, Cameron's hand set alight when House brushed his past hers.
"Oh and Ally can I borrow your ring? Michael was going to propose to Kelly and I said you have the same size finger" John covered
"Sure dad, just be sure to give it back, it's the one you gave me…"
"For graduating, I know" he smiled at his daughter, "See you soon, come on Greg"
