Lightning waited in his bedroom for Mollie to call. What had just happened didn't make any sense to him and he didn't like what he saw. And Kaleb seemed like a huge jerk! The next day, Lightning and Chad were eating breakfast at the table while Minty cleaned up some dishes in the sink. Kristine walked in and Minty greeted "Mornin. Want some grits?" Kristine grabbed a bowl of the food then went back to her room. Minty sighed muttering "I don't know what I'm gonna do with her... Hey, Chad." She called. Chad looked over with a "Hhmm?" "How you feel about hiring your sister to work for you?" Chad's eyes widened. He swallowed his food then answered "Uh, no. Kristine would be worse that Monty ever was." Minty's brows lowered as she replied "No she wouldn't. Kristine would never take the cars out. She'd probably just stick around on her phone and follow you around." Chad nodded. "Yeah, that's worse." He said. Minty rolled her eyes and continued to wash up the dishes then stopped and stared out the small window above the sink. "Mollie is here." "What?" Lightning asked as he turned towards his Mother. Minty repeated announcing "She just pulled up. Are you stupid?" Minty asked in a growl. Lightning stood up and wiped his face before answering "No, it's not like that. I am still with Sally Mom." He then walked over and opened the front door just as Mollie raised her hand to knock. Mollie and Lightning stared at each other. Mollie didn't look happy. Actually, she looked mad.
"What's up?" Lightning asked with a smile. Mollie grabbed Lightning's shirt and pulled him out onto the porch, shutting the door behind him then just snapped! "What the fuck was that last night!?" Lightning defending with "What do you mean?! You obviously aren't there for any same reason!" "Really!? It's that hard to believe that!?" "Yes! What happened to school!?" "What-EEERRRHHHH! I quit because I wasn't enjoying if you must know Monty!" She yelled! "I just decided to do something different and one of my friends, Marissa, was already working here. Lightning got off the plane and walked through the airport. He made his way outside and looked at his phone real quick. Missed call from Sally. He snickered and smiled seeing her name on his phone. He was so happy that they seem to be getting back on track again. But then suddenly. "IS THAT LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!?" A man screamed. Lightning looked over towards the voice. "IT IS! IT'S LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!" The man announced LOUDLY! Lightning's eyes widened. Because that grabbed a bunch of eyes. He found himself quickly surrounded by a crowd, all asking him about this weekend's race and Sally and the team and the car and the cup race to come and if he would be winning a fourth cup this year or not and what not. It was almost overwhelming, but he did enjoy it at times...
Lightning walked into the motel where his team was staying and where Doc was waiting in the lobby for the young racer. Lightning waved at Doc as he walked over then greeted "Hey Doc." "Enjoy vacation?" Doc asked with a snicker. Lightning shrugged answering "Sure, I guess." "You speak with Sally? Work things out?" "Yeah, I'd say so. Just gotta finish making up." He bragged almost proudly. Doc rolled his eyes and warned "Just don't wear yourself thin.. Feel like putting in some practice tonight?" "Always." "Great." Doc complimented then began to talk strategies about this weekend's race with his racer...
Lightning McQueen holds a good lead for the past three laps today. Oh but here comes Kyle passing Swift in second with ease. Seems that Swift knows better than to mess with Kyle. Lightning blocks the inside. He's not letting Kyle just pass him up. He blocks to the outside, but Kyle finds an opening. He's moving right up alongside Lightning. Those cars are close! Look at that there! Kyle and Lightning, side by side! Kyle tries to get ahead, but Lightning is ahead by a nose! We have contact! The cars have contacted! Kyle or Lightning, one of them has to give. OH! And Lightning hits the wall! Kyle shoots ahead and Swift takes second, followed by Jackals! Lightning drops down to fifth, can he make it back up the pack?

Lightning is right behind Kyle. Can he take back this race?.. Kyle blocks him. You know Kyle won't just let Lightning have this race back. He knows that Lightning is faster than he is. Kyle knows that if he gives up the lead now, he may not get it back. Lightning attempts to make a pass outside, Kyle not letting that happen and OH! OH! Joey just shoots right past the leaders, followed by Swift! Kyle and Lightning both know that they made a mistake there. Kyle guns it hard down the way. Lightning is hot on his tail. They battle out for outside the turn here. Lightning seems to have it. He might pass Kyle up! He just might and OH into the wall again! That car just took its second swipe against the wall tonight folks!.. Looks like we have fluids leaking underneath the 95 car there. Let's tune in and see what's going on.
"You okay?" Ask Doc. Lightning nods answering "Yeah.. The Bolt took a hard hit. Losing oil pressure." "Looks like you have some minor damage. You're losing more than just oil. Don't be stupid, bring it in kid. We can get you back out in time to take the lead back." "Ten four."
Well you heard folks. The 95.. Losing oil and maybe some fuel.. Let's hope that Crew Chief Doc Hudson is right and the 95 team can get the car back out there.. Fairly quickly...
Lightning makes his way back up to the leaders. We have Kyle in first, followed by Tony and Swift. Lightning passes Swift and Tony is one swift move. He is chasing Kyle down folks. Kyle doesn't even seem to try and block him this time. We only have thirteen laps left. If Lightning chokes this time, he probably won't make it back up. Kyle and Lightning, side by side! And Kyle slams Lighting into the wall again! You can see the sparks here folks! That 95 just took one hell of a hit. You see the replay there. Oh.. Man that had gotta hurt. That car's front base just bounced. Look at the force of that hit man. You know he's pitting again now. That might have just cause Team 95 the race folks. (5 car leaking oil again. Maybe fuel as it's.. Driven into the pits. Ans we have some sparks flying out by the right rear there and Oh look at that! We have fire!
Doc quickly pointed out the situation to Lightning, "You have flames behind you. Get it to the pits and get out to be safe. We have the firefighters on their way." Lighting growled furiously and hit the car's wheel. He turned into his pits and kill switched the car. The flames died down, but the firemen put them out completely. Lightning got out of the car and took off his helmet. Staring at the car that was not on fire anymore. Doc placed a hand on Lightning's shoulder saying "It's alright. You're safe and that's what matters." Lightning only yelled "Get me back out there!" Doc and the team stared at the driver with shock. "The car isn't on fire anymore! Patch her up and get me back out there now!" Lightning ordered the team.. The team quickly ran to the Bolt and lifted her up and began fixing it up enough so that Lightning could attempt to finish the race. Doc and Lightning stared at each other for a few seconds. Doc was surprised and impressed too. The kid was determined. Doc nodded saying "Alright, yeah. You be easy on her and we just might finish this race in the top twenty." "I can make the top ten Doc." Kyle began walking to his pits along with his team after getting a few photos taken. He won first this race. Lightning marched right up behind the racer and snapped "You race dirty Kyle!" Kyle turned around, shaking his head and corrected. "No, I just race hard. I'm just a little more seasoned than you Lightning." "You pinballed me against the wall over and over. You fucked my car!" "And I heard that she liked it." Lightning jumped at Kyle! Punching him right in the jaw! BAM! Kyle fought back by trying to grab Lightning's shoulders, but then team members stepped in and separated the two racers. "I'll get you next time Kyle!" Lightning yelled as his team pulled him away. If Lightning wants to look around than he might as well cheat, right?" She asked. Megan shrugged answering "No.. I'm with Jesse this time Sal. I mean... Jesse then began again with "Well back to the subject.. This is my wedding and this is what I want. No wedding really. I don't care about all that stuff girls. Really. I just want to marry the man I love." Jesse explained. Megan awed replying "That is sweet Jess.. Okay. If that's what you want." "I do. Bobby and I already talked about it. We just want to invite his parents and close friends." "That's us right?" Megan asked jokingly. Jesse laughed answering "Of course! But I still want the bachelorette party. Sally glanced at her calendar then replied "Should be okay. Looks like the boys will have the weekend off that week." "Exactly! Bobby and I are going to get married and then go straight to Florida for our honeymoon and then back to the race by the weekend." Jesse announced. Megan giggled and joked "Good. He'll be all worn out and will be handing the race to Cal." Jesse rolled her eyes. Sally then said "Don't forget about Lightning now Megan." Megan laughed saying "It will be an interesting race between Cal and Lightning." Jesse then reminded the girls about Kyle. "Yeah.. He's a jerk.." Sally growled. "Did you girls see what he did to Lightning this weekend!?" She asked. "Yeah, he's just aggressive." Megan replied. Sally snickered rudely replying "More like deadly.." Jesse sighed then said "Well.. I'm going to get off here and call Bobby. Think he should be back in his trailer by now. But I'll text you girls about it more this week, no worries." "Of course Jess." Replied Meg. "Night, talk later." She then hung up. Sally then said night and bye to her friend as well.

Bobby and Jesse had only been dating for a little over a year and Sally and Lightning had been dating forever! About five years coming late November! How could playboy Bobby feel more for Jesse than Lightning felt for her? That kind of hurt. It sort of made her tear up some. It just didn't seem fair. Shouldn't Lightning feel that way for her? She began to wonder if he would ever be ready. He gave her a promise ring and they lived together. Why not ask her to marry him already? What was she doing wrong?...
Lightning pulled up the vette to the house and grabbed his suitcase. He walked up to the front door and took out his keys, but then the door opened. Sally smiled, greeting "Hey." Lightning smiled and put his keys in his pocket as he greeted "Hey beautiful." Sally reached over and took his suitcase saying "I missed you a lot Stickers." "I missed you." he replied as they walked in together. Lightning shut the door behind him. Sally put his suitcase on the floor then the couple stared at each other. "You know you scared me this weekend." Sally announced. Lightning shrugged saying "I don't see how. I mean I chose you over any and every girl that's ever come onto me." "What? No, I meant at the race. Your car caught on fire!" She reminded. Lightning smiled a bit saying "Yeah, that did happen." Almost as if he found it funny. Sally's brows lowered "Is that funny or something?" She asked. "What if the thing blew up!?" She asked. Lightning sighed answering "It didn't. It wouldn't have. It's pretty normal for those kinds of fires Sally. It wasn't really a fire, it was more like... Like a little.. uh.." "It was fire! The tank could have"-"Stop. I'm fine. She mumbled into his chest. Lightning kissed the top of her head and apologized himself. "I'm sorry Sal.. I shouldn't have done what I did to you without talking about it first and asking permission.." Sally then pulled away and smiled at him deviously. "That reminds me.. Don't I have full control over you now?" She asked. Lightning's brows raised and his eyes widened. "Uh.. Not exactly, but.. I mean sort of.. I mean you have control over the situation.. The.. Green light rule and... Well... What I'm.." He paused and tried to think of any other word but 'allowed'. It was like he would puke having to say allowed. "Um.. Allowed..." He said it. "To do to you.. I guess.." He sounded unsure and he hated saying it. Sally snickered then thought about Bobby and Jesse. "Jesse called and told me that she and Bobby are getting married." Lightning nodded replying "Oh yeah. So Bobby finally proposed huh?" He asked as he set his keys on the entrance table now.
The fact that he said finally kind of hurt Sally more. Like.. When would Lightning finally ask? "They plan on getting married in a few weeks." She announced. Lightning raised a brow asking "Really? Isn't that a little fast? Even for Bobby." Well isn't Lightning being a little slow. Sally nodded quietly. Lightning could see it on her face. She was thinking hard and she looked a little upset.
