A/N: I was going to update sooner … but I thought that perhaps if I waited I could get sniffle more reviews. I guess this story is going down the drain. Sigh oh well. Grrr…I will you give you a conclusion to the previous chapter anyway…
Chapter Ten
Previously…
Ron moved closer to her not exactly knowing why he was doing this, but he had his ulterior motives. He didn't even know what was drawing him closer to Hermione, but he knew one thing: he couldn't stand watching another man hold her in his arms, no matter who it was.
OOOOOOOOOOO
Karolyn was mad… madder than mad. Ron left her and hanging and now he would pay even more because she saw him moving towards Hermione.
"Ron what are you doing?" Karolyn asked stepping in front of him stopping him from making his way to Hermione. Ron simply pushed her out of the way knocking her on the ground and then stood right in front of John and Hermione not sure exactly what to do next so he just tapped on John's should while Karolyn watched angrily. John turned slowly….
OOOOOOOOOOO
John turned slowly looking as if Ron had lost his mind, and Hermione stood clueless behind John hoping that the familiar red head that she saw only a glimpse of was just some type of coincidence, but she new fate wasn't that kind.
Even though Hermione truly loved Ron deep down she didn't know if she was ready to accept that yet especially since she wouldn't just be putting just her heart on the line, John's and Ron's would both be strung there too hanging by a thread and she was the one who would decide which one to break.
So, there she was standing behind John like a coward not knowing what was going on until John turned to her and gave her a reassuring smile then he walked off the dance floor and left Ron and Hermione there… alone… together…
Hermione twiddled her thumbs and looked down at the ground as if it were some type of moral support, but it wasn't, all it did was make her feel foolish. She suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder and instantly she knew it was Ron, or at least she thought it was Ron until she looked up completely to see it was Karolyn. Karolyn looked like she was about to beat Hermione to a pulp.
"Hermione what do you think you are doing? Ron is mine. I got to him first… you left him because you didn't trust him so just back off."
"Um… Karolyn Ron isn't property so why do you treat him like this? He is an honorable loving man and he deserves someone great who can respect him and be everything he needs. He doesn't deserve a headstrong whore who thinks it is okay to treat someone as if they are some kind of cockroach."
"You mean he deserves somebody like you?" Karolyn asked with a condescending smirk on her face.
"No, I don't deserve him… he is wonderful… I'm... I didn't trust him… he deserves someone who can trust him."
Hermione didn't know that Ron was listening to the conversation. She didn't know he was standing right behind her and Karolyn, she thought he was still standing five feet away.
"'Mione, what are you talking about? You are wonderful. You are so wonderful that when I hurt you… unintentionally… I still felt dire about it. If anything I don't deserve you, but I know that you and I deserve another chance and we deserve forgiveness from each other. I had tried to forget about you 'Mione, but how can I possibly throw away thirteen, almost fourteen years of my life? I saw you here tonight with that man and I felt and still feel jealous… I am jealous. I talked to him right now and he is a good man and I see why you like and maybe even love him, but can you forget about us like this?"
"No, I can't." Hermione said moving directly in front of Ron. Getting so close to him she felt his body press up against hers, and without warning they became completely oblivious to everything and everyone around them, not really caring about who was watching Ron lifted Hermione up so they were eye level and started kissing her in a way that made her heart flutter away to a distant fairy tale.
They soon became earthbound again and began dancing. Hermione placed her arms around his broad shoulders as he placed his arms around her waist pulling her closer.
There
is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the
deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are
lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're
traveling with me
Hey
now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the
world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between
us
We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car, there's a
hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but
there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But
you turn right over to the T.V. page
Hey now, hey now
Don't
dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They
come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't
win
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm
counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only the shadows
ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of
liberation and relief
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's
over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come,
they come
To build a wall between us
Don't ever let them win
Three dances and roughly five alcoholic beverages later they left hand in hand and walked to a nearby bench and began to talk. They talked for hours. They both now felt complete, like the hole missing in their hearts was now filled. It wasn't going to be the easiest relationship, because there still was a lot of pain inside both of them and there are some things time just doesn't fix.
A/N: There you go… now please review I know this is a short chapter, but it is a conclusion and the next chapters will be there normal length. Okay and the song… um I know I didn't have to include that but it seemed like it fit. It is called Don't Dream It's Over by Sixpence None the Richer. I hope you like this chapter just give me some feedback, positive and negative.
