Sally walked with the older gentleman back to his room as she asked, "Now exactly what is it again?" The man opened his room's door then pointed to the bathroom stating, "There's a whistle from the sink. It started last night shortly after I brushed my teeth." Sally nodded and entered the room. Setting down her small tool bag on the small table near the door. "Alright. Let me just get my paperwork out." She reached into the bag, sorting through some of the things she had brought along. The man stood behind her, waiting. He noticed as she moved a bit something on her lower back. A tattoo. He heard about it but never saw it. It wasn't like he was trying to see it. Just the way the shirt moved with her body gave him a small glimpse. Sally turned around and handed the man the clipboard. "Here. Just fill all of this out. I'm going to check out that faucet." She smiled before walking into the bathroom. The man began his paperwork, hearing the whistling faucet from the distance. He grew a bit curious about that tattoo though and set down the clipboard and wandered into the bathroom where Sally was standing over the sink.
Sally glanced over and nodded, 'Yep. It's whistling. But I don't think it's damaging." "Um.." The man muttered. "I didn't check for any leaks. Maybe you-we should though." He suggested. Sally didn't think that was such a bad idea. She opened the cabinet door under the sink to take a look. She bent over slightly, her ass towards the door. Her shirt lifting more. The man stared straight down at the tattoo. COcking his head a little as he stared. Noticing the way her ass cheeks were held tightly in her black pants. Maybe even a little bit of panty lines going on there. Sally moved a little then knelt on all fours to get a better look underneath at the sink. "Mind turning on the water?" She asked. The man reached over and turned it on. Then went back to staring at the sexy figure of the young woman. Tiny little hips and waistline. "What a view, right?" Asked another man from behind. The customer mumbled, "Hmm?" as he turned to see Lightning McQueen standing behind him with his arms crossed. The customer quickly stepped back and blushed red! LIghtning glared at him and asked, "The view outside Wheel well overlooking the town. You should go check that out before you lose the opportunity to see it clearly." He suggested firmly.
The customer smiled awkwardly and nodded before rushing out and almost slamming the door behind him. Sally stood up and scolded, "YOu don't need to do that. I can handle myself." LIghtning snickered back, "That man was checking out your ass." "NO, he wasn't." "How would you know? YOu were headfirst in the cabinet. He had step-sister porn written all over him." "Step what?" Sally asked. Lightning blushed, staring all wide-eyed at his girl. "Um.." He muttered. "Nothing, don't worry about it. WHat's the complaint?" He asked. Changing the subject quickly. Sally raised a brow before answering, "That the faucet is whistling and it is." "Move the guy to another room and I'll have it taken care of." "I don't have any more rooms." "Tell him to leave." "I can't kick out a customer just because you don't like the way he was looking at me." "I can too." "NO, you can't! Women look at you all of the time and I can't stop it." "THat's different." Lightning argued. Sally crossed her arms and asked, "How so?" LIghtning shrugged, "It just is. I'm famous." "Yeah, famously annoying," Sally growled. LIghtning glared at her for a moment before stepping into the bathroom, closing and locking the door as he husked, "Keep talking to me in that tone, and I"ll bend you over right here."
Sally stared up at him and slowly a sexy and devious smile appeared on her face. "With what tone now, jerk? As far as I see it, I can talk to you in whatever tone I want." Giving a bit of attitude. Lightning enjoyed it. "OH really?" "Yes. You may technically own the motel, but I'm in charge of it." Sally snarled. LIghtning chuckled slightly under his breath before asking, "Is that so?" Sally nodded, "It is so. And while you are on this property, you will not boss me around." Lightning shook his head, grabbing her hips and twisting her around, making her face the mirror as he shoved his pelvis against her ass. He slowly caressed his hand up her stomach, breasts, to her neck where he gently grabbed her throat and forced her to look up at him as he spoke, "Keep it up, and I'll fuck you right here and make you watch." His voice was so sexy and deep and only made Sally wet between her legs. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she grabbed ahold of herself for sanity's sake. Sally reached up and removed his hand from her neck and cleared her throat. "The customer may walk in any moment. As fun as this is, we need to wait until we are
home." Lightning rolled his eyes and kissed her cheek. "YOu are such a tease." "I know." "Kind of a bitch." He added playfully. Sally raised a brow and asked, "YOu call me that to your friends?" "Of course not. But I kind of like the attitude. Fine. I'll wait until we are home. But you can't work late that means." "I make no promises, Light," Sally warned. LIghtning sighed and unlocked the door and opened it. A little upset that he didn't get Sally to give in to his needs. He then asked a question cautiously, "Think we could try something a little more.. Rough tonight?" Sally stared at her fiance a moment before answering shyly, "I.. I don't know. I know you want those things but I just don't think I can give you those sorts of... Pleasures.." She frowned. LIghtning shrugged and brushed it off assuring, "That's fine. You are enough for me just the way you are." He assured with a smile. Sally snickered as he left. Hat sort of made her fall in love with him just a little bit more if that was possible right now.
Lightning walked out and saw the customer he caught staring at his girl outside. He and the customer made eye contact from a distance. The man cleared his throat, grabbed his keys, and announced, "I think I'll head to the diner while Miss-Your um-Sa-um she-the owner does whatever-or-she-yeah.. Sorry." Then walked off to a blue sedan, got in, and drove off. LIghtning scoffed happily before heading out himself...
Sally pulled the Porsche into the garage and closed the door behind her. She locked up her car as she headed inside the house. It was quiet and late. She set her keys, phone, purse on the kitchen counter before making her way to the bedroom. The lights were still on. "Stickers." She called softly. Walking into the bedroom she stopped and leaned on the frame. Her love was passed out asleep in bed. She sighed before making her way into the room. SLipping her shoes off and sat on the end of the bed near Lightning. "Sorry.. I know you wanted to spend time together." She whispered. He was already in his deep sleep by now though. So Sally quietly gathered her things and made her way into the bathroom to shower, closing the door behind her. Lightning slowly opened his eyes. He was exhausted. But for the first time. IT hurt. How busy she was. It was not jealousy, but heartache. It made him feel sad and empty and forgotten. SO much so, he didn't have the energy to even stay up and wait for her. SO he rolled over and fell back to sleep...
LIghtning and Bobby walked through the garage area. Making their way over to Bobby's garage. Bobby asking "SO how are you actually doing sense the shooting?" Lightning shrugged, "I'm alright. Better than I have been." As he smoked his cigarette. Bobby snickered, "Well besides taking some mints and smoking more than usual." Lightning glared and defended, "I'm stressed." "UNderstandable. How is Sally? This must be stressful for her too." "I don't know. She doesn't talk about it." "Really?" "Yea, really. Why you ask?" "Just care about ya'll. YOu two have been through a lot lately." "I guess so." Mumbled Lightning. "I've been avoiding home and people for the most part. I've been out and about more this last week than I have in what feels like forever." He admitted. BObby stopped them and asked, "Wait? Are you still isolating yourself?" LIghtning just shrugged. SMoking his cigarette when a familiar, "Monty?" Called from behind. LIghtning's eyes widened as he heard his Mother's voice. Bobby looked over at the woman walking over then asked, "You know her?" Lightning turned around answering, "That's my mother."
Minty walked up to her son greeting, "Hey, Monty! HIt's good to see you." She leaned in for a hug but stopped as she saw the cigarette and asked, "You're smoking?" Lightning stared. Bobby tried saving his friend by taking the cigarette and thanking him for holding that for a sec, then he smoked the bud before greeting, "Hey there, Mrs. McQueen." Minty glared and asked, "Bobby, right?" Bobby nodded. MInty crossed her arms then asked her son, "Does Sally know you're smoking?" Boby sighed. Lightning took the cigarette back as he answered, "NO, and don't plan on telling her. It's just for stress, for today." He smoked once then tossed it on the ground and stepped on it, twisting his toes over it to put it out. "What are you doing here?" He asked his MOther. Minty hugged her son. "I wanted to see my baby boy and check up on you." She answered. BObby snickered at that. Lightning sighed as they separated, "I'm fine, Mom. IS Chad with you?" "No, he had to stay behind. How is Sally?" "Good. I bet she'd love to see you back home. She's been emotional about dress shopping since she doesn't have her mother." "OH, I'D LOVE TO GO WITH HER!" MInty exclaimed. "Would she want that though?" "Yeah, I think so. I'll get you a room and you can come back home with me if you'd like?" "I would love to, Mon."
BObby then cleared his throat to grab Lightning's attention. When Lightning looked over he saw Tiffany coming over. She looked angry. LIghtning grew nervous. But before he could do much else the young woman marched over and asked, "Why on earth did you fire me?" Lightning quickly corrected, "I never fired you. I can't fire you. I simply asked that you be reassigned to a new racer." "Why?" Tiffany asked rudely. "My Father personally asked for you!" She reminded. LIghtning sighed, "Things came up." "You mean you are afraid." She snarled. Minty raised her hand and asked, "Mon, what's going on?" Lightning hesitated to answer, "NOthing... Tiffany was my rookie for the season but I asked for her to be reassigned to someone else for the rest of the season." Tiffany crossed her arms, pouting as she asked, "And why did you do that? IS it because of what happened in the garage?" Lightning blushed! Bobby then asked, "What happened in the garage?" LIghtning had to think of an excuse quick! "Um.." HE began, "No. It's because I'm going through a lot right now after what happened.. I need.. I'm not in a good place. I'm sorry.. just won't be useful to you as a rookie in my condition, Tiff.." Did that sound believable? Think so. Tiffany's expression changed. She seemed to believe that. "Oh.." She mumbled. "I guess I can understand that. I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry I thought that"-"It's alright. Just... Circumstances out of ou control kind of got between the idea of me helping you this season." Lightning said with a smile. Tiffany smiled back and nodded before wishing Lightning the best of luck and walking away.
Minty then asked, "Is everything really okay, Mon?" BObby then stepped in with, "We should really be getting ready for the race." Lightning nodded then asked his MOther if she had a pass. She nodded. Lightning then smiled, "Great. I'll.." He paused and stared out in the distance. Minty raised a brow. Staring at her blanked-out son. "Mon?" She muttered. She then turned and looked to see the familiar redhead afar. Lightning smiled a little and shyly waved at her. The redhead smiled back and waved in return. Minty glared and snapped, "Mon!" LIghtning snapped out of it and continued, "What! Mom! I.. I"ll catch up with you after the race, Mom." Then he and Bobby walked on. Making their way to Bobby's garage, Bobby asked, "So what was Tiffany talking about?" LIghtning sighed. Waiting until they were inside Bobby's garage. "Well.." He hesitated as Bobby's crew was inside prepping. BObby glanced at his team and motioned for them to go. Once alone, Lightning confessed to his friend, "Tiffany and I made out. Only a little and it didn't go past that." "WHAT!?" Bobby exclaimed with a smile! "Man, I can not believe that little whore. How was it? She's good. Am I right?" Bobby asked with a smirk, nudging his friend with his elbow.
Lightning seemed disgusted and snarled, "I'm engaged." "OOOooohh! So that's why you were asking about cheating." Said Bobby. Lightning nodded. Bobby sighed and thought a moment before replying, "I think it's fine. You just made out?" HE asked. LIghtning nodded. Bobby thought again for a few seconds before asking, "How long you two make out?" "I don't know. Maybe a minute, max." "DO you like her? Love her?" "NO! It's never happening again!" Assured Lightning. Bobby shrugged with a smile, "Then you didn't cheat. But I still wouldn't go tellin' Sally about it. Being a lawyer and all." "Right, right.." Mumbled Lightning. BObby placed an arm around his best friend and asked, "Have you talked to Sally about an open marriage? Sounds like you need a bit of an outlet. Is she putting out for you?" LIghtning glared and pushed Bobby's arm off him, answering "Sally and I haven't even talked about the whole not taking birth control thing again." "OH, yea! I forget about all that. She still not taking it?" Asked Bobby. Lightning shook his head, "Not that I know of..." "Dude! She is trying hard for a little LIghtning junior!" He laughed.
Lightning glared harder, "Not until we are married. That's what she has said." "That may be what she said, but you are getting married in like three months, man. Baby bumps don't grow until like.. Um.. LIke five or six, right? She could be trying to get pregnant beforehand and you not even know it." "Don't put that kind of stuff in my head right now. I'm already stressed out. A baby is not something I want right now." "Doesn't sound like you have much of a choice." "OH, I do. I'll make sure of it." "How?" "I don't know!" "Alright, alright. Calm down." Softened Bobby. Lightning sighed. Trying to think. Trying not to overthink. "What can I do to keep us from getting pregnant?" Asked the worried champion. BObby thought a moment before answering, "Condoms. If that doesn't work. Always use plan b. Just slip in water or something." "Does that work?" Bobby just shrugged. "Google it." He replied. Lightning rolled his eyes then glanced at the time. "I gotta go set up." He said. BObby smiled and wished his friend good luck before the two parted ways for now...
Lightning returned to his trailer. Laughing as he walked with two of the other racers. Not Cal or Bobby, but other racers. He opened the door to his trailer and he called, "Yeah, I'll see ya next week." THen walked in. The door suddenly closed behind him! "Monty." Snarled his Mother. Lightning jumped as he faced her and scolded, "Sheesh! Mom! Don't do that!" "I talked with Mack." SHe announced. Lightning just giggled some, "OKay." "I wanted to know more about the redhead." "Josephine?" He asked with a smile. "She's cute. Just an old fling." He assured with a bubbly smile. Minty grabbed her son's face and looked into his eyes before asking, "Are you drunk?" "NO! Gah!" He shoved away. "Why did you even come to check on me? I"m fine, this is fine, the car is fine, the track is safe." "You are buzzed!" Minty scoffed. Lightning rolled his eyes and growled, "SO what if some of the guys and I had a few celebratory beers. I should celebrate." Lightning said proudly as he plopped down on the couch. "I won third. Best race I've had in a while." He added. Minty sighed and sat next to her son. "How are things with Sally?" She was probing. Lightning shrugged, "Good." "No, how are things? Before this incident, the two of you were fighting a little and you had some serious doubts, honey."
LIghtning stared at his MOther. As if that question sobered him up fast. He sighed, staring at his feet below. "We haven't addressed that issue since. Not yet. I plan to... But things were getting better now and we are planning the wedding and I don't want to be the one to screw things up by starting a fight." "It's not starting a fight unless you make it one. YOu two would just be talking. And what about this Josephine and Tiffany?" "What about them?" Asked Lightning. MInty raised a brow, "Well Mack says Josephine keeps coming up and that Tiffany and you might have had a little spat in the garage? I know it's not my business, but"-"Then stop. If you know better then just leave it all be. Nothing is going on. I don't know what Mack told you, but he walked in on an awkward moment that Tiffany and I had and he doesn't know anything. It's over now anyway. Tiffany is no longer my racer." He assured firmly. Minty only worried more though. "You said it's over now, Monty.. What does that mean exactly? Have you?... Were you sleeping with her?" "NO! NO, never!" LIghtning said as he stood up defensively. "ENough! I don't want to talk about it." He growled. Minty fell silent. Not sure what to think right now. SO she nodded with an "ALright." Then smiled, "I can't wait to help Sally and you with the wedding back in Radiator Springs anyway. Should be nice." LIghtning stared at his Mother. He nodded. Still upset about that little feud they had just had. But yeah, planning the wedding would be good for them all. That and he and Sally needed a night out just the two of them...
Minty looked through the planner that Sally had made for the wedding. Seeing the theme that Lightning helped with. "OH my goodness.. It's so beautiful!" SHe exclaimed with a smile. Looking up from the planner at the table. Sally grabbed her coffee and sat next to Minty with a huge smile on her face. "Isn't it?" She asked. "Lightning really surprised me with the things he picked out." She then looked up at Lightning across the kitchen. Such a loving, happy, satisfying gaze. LIghtning gazed back, smiling. Minty looked at Sally and asked, "So three months is not long. Have you rented out the motel?" Sally nodded, "Yeah, I already set it up. Wheel Well will be completely guest-free for the week of the wedding." "OH good. ANd invitations?" Minty asked. Sally happily answered, "Already sent out." Minty looked at Lightning then back at Sally and asked, "Well where is mine?" Sally snickered and walked over to the microwave were on top were some other wedding invites. Sally sorted through them. Lightning noticed the names and one caught his eye. Sally took one that said MINTY from the pile and walked back over, handing it to Minty. "Thought best this be in person." She smiled.
Minty's eyes sparkled as she took the invite. "OH, it is just beautiful!" Sally giggled and proudly bragged, "Lightning picked them out." Minty glanced at her son before opening the letter. Meanwhile, LIghtning grabbed the small stack of invites and asked, "What are all these?" Sally looked up answering, "In-person invites. Mostly family, townsfolk and"-"Ben?" Lightning questioned as he held one up that read BENTWHEEL. Minty and Sally stared at Lightning. Sally turned a bit pale as she stuttered, "I.. I h-haven't d-de-decided if I'm inviting him y-yet." LIghtning set down the invites loudly onto the countertop then angrily walked out f the room and into the garage. closing the door loudly behind him. Minty sighed and asked, "Isn't Ben your ex-husband?..." Softly. Sally looked at her future Mother-in-law and nodded without a word. Sally stood up and excused herself before walking to the garage. Lightning was sitting on the hood of his Vette. Arms crossed and obviously in deep thought. Sally closed the door and asked, "Are you mad?" Lightning looked up at her and stared a moment before answering. "No."
Sally walked closer and asked, "Is it okay if I invite him?" "I guess. It's not like you gave me much of a choice." "That's not true. That's why the invite was up there." "So you could give it to him in person?" LIghtning asked in a growl of jealousy. Sally sighed, biting her lips before answering, "No... TO ask you first." LIghtning stared at Sally. Not sure if that was the real reason or not. He nodded and said, "I guess it's fine. NOt like I have anything to worry about, right?" Sally's eyes widened! "OH, Stickers." She began. Walking up to him and took his hands in hers. "You have absolutely nothing to worry about! I love you. Only you. IT's why I'm marrying you, goofball!" She giggled. Lightning smiled a little but then stood up and randomly pulled her close and hugged her tightly. As if it were the last time. It made Sally nervous. He didn't let go. WHich only scared her more. "Lightning?.." She cooed. "Everything okay?" She asked. Lightning buried his face into the crook of her neck and inhaled loudly before answering, "Yeah, yes." Pulling away and smiled at his bride. "I just don't want to lose you." "Why would you lose me?" Sally asked. Lightning shook his head. "NO, just.. IT's been a tough couple of weeks.. With everything going on and..." He stopped.
He almost broke and opened up to her. He didn't mind opening up to Sally but he did not want to the reason wedding plans and her happiness was set aside. HE smiled and took her hands in his continuing, "I had a bad dream where I lost you. The Grand Prix." NOt a complete lie. He did have nightmares occasionally still. Sally smiled and leaned in, kissing the side of his face softly. "I miss you." Lightning added. Sally raised a brow and reminded, "I'm in front of you." LIghtning snickered, "But you are always working. I miss you, hanging out with you, and going for drives and dinners. Sex. I miss sex." Sally giggled. "Okay, yeah, me too." She admitted. The two gazed at each other before Sally reminded, "Your Mom is in the kitchen." "RIght. Wedding plans." "Yup." "Do you want her to go dress shopping with you?" "Yes!" "Ask her. SHe'd love that." "I will actually. Right now." Sally said with a smile before taking off to the door. She stopped and asked, "Are you coming?" Lightning smiled, "IN a moment." SO Sally scurried back inside the house. Lightning sighed as he stood there alone. He could faintly hear Sally and his Mother talking. His smile faded. Pain. The pain was inside him and he had to swallow it down for Sally. Taking a moment to breathe so he wouldn't fall apart...
Sally and Minty were sitting on the couch, Lightning in the recliner. watching tv and watching the women go over Sally's checklist. Sally read off, "Okay, so we have the date, venue, theme, I've booked the photographer, videographer, and have a caterer coming in next week for choosing cakes." "No meal?" Asked MInty. Sally shook her head and explained, "Lightning and I want a small, shorter wedding." Minty looked over at her son and asked, "Why is that? Don't you want to cherish it for as long as possible?" Lightning looked over answering, "We have the rest of our lives to cherish that. I just don't want to stand around forever." MInty snickered at that. Sally looked back at her list and continued, "NOw even though Wheel Well will be guest free, I've rented rooms out for you (Minty) and MY Father, and The Weathers and Swifts. We have color palettes and suits for Lightning's party. Still need to know your best man, Stickers." Lightning looked over and answered, "Mater. Sort of." "You trust Mater with the rings?" Questioned the bride. Lightning laughed, "No. Not one bit. Bobby is the best man just.. Mater gets the title." Sally snickered with a smile and rolled her eyes before continuing, "I have a make-up artist coming for me and the girls, Flo wants to do my hair which I have agreed to. Already have the gift registry done, sent out the invites Lightning picked out, I sent out rehearsal dates to Megen, Jesse, My Dad, in your invite Minty, Chad, and my siblings too."
Lightning then asked, "What about the townsfolk?" "Yup. They know when." Sally assured. "And I've had my bachelorette party which.. LEads me to ask. When is your bachelor party again?" LIghtning shrugged answering, "I don't know. Kind of not sure if it's a party or just us guys hanging out." Sally snickered, "If it's anything like mine, it will be a hell of one." "What did you do?" LIghtning asked with a curious smile. Sally blushed. "Rode around in the limo you surprised me with." LIghtning smiled prouder now. Sally rolled her eyes and continued, "We meet with the officiant in two weeks as well. And we still have to buy rings, Light." LIghtning nodded and sighed, mumbling, "Where am I going to get this time?" "OH, I made the time for you." "What?" "Yeah, I've made you a schedule so that way we have no worries." "Oh.." LIghtning muttered. Felt weird having Sally make a schedule for him for their wedding. Sally continued, "I'm working with Luigi and Guido on flowers. They are perfect for the job. I've made a playlist for the music that I emailed to you, Lightning. Have you had a chance to go over it?" She asked.
Lightning chuckled and reminded, "I never even went over the guest list you sent." Sally glared. Not find that very funny at all. LIghtning's smile disappeared as cleared his throat and corrected, "I'll go over it in the morning." Sally then slowly looked back at her list. "I"ve already purchased the lighting to make the setup similar to what you did in the house. I" ve made an order of the ceremony that I'll go over with the officiant when we meet with him. I've written my vows already but I may make some changes." "Wait-hold on. You already wrote your vows?" Lightning asked. MInty and Sally stared at the racer. "YOu haven't?" Sally asked. The couple stared at each other a moment before Lightning muttered, "NO, I.. I have started to.. But.. Need to finish.. SOon.." He lied. He lied and by Sally's expression she knew he did. She just continued though, "I"ve ordered gifts for the bridal party and parents." MInty quickly stepped in with, "You did not need to buy me anything." "OH shoosh. Of course, I did." Sally said with a smile. "Decor, check. Need to figure out seating arrangements, I still need a dress, programs need to be made still, I have the thank you cards but we will need to handwrite names afterward. Um.. I have an appointment for my nails and a waxing in California closer to the date. About a week. I'll probably spend the week with my sister then come back for the wedding."
LIghtning then remembered and had to ask, "Are we still spending the week or so before it apart?" Sally shrugged, "Maybe. We'll see." Lightning sighed. Sally then asked, "What about the honeymoon? I know we only get about a week because of racing but have you booked it?" LIghtning's face turned red. He didn't. Sally sighed and wrote something on her checklist. Lightning quickly said, "DOn't worry about the honeymoon. I got it. I'm on it right now. I will take care of that, okay?" Sally stared a moment before looking back at her list and marking out whatever she had just written. Lightning began to feel a bit bad. He was busy racing and here Sally was working three jobs and planning their wedding basically alone! He needed to get on the honeymoon, vows, and figure out if he and the boys were going to do anything or not...
Sally closed the planner and sighed with a smile. "Thanks for the help, Minty. I love that you are here to help me." Sally said. Minty smiled and placed her hand on Sally's, patting it gently. "Of course, dear. I love you. You are family." She then yawned. Sally yawned in response then looked at her phone. 11.42. "Oh wow. It's really late. We better get to bed, Stickers. I have so much to do in the morning so that I'll have free time tomorrow evening for us." She said as she stood up. But Lightning didn't reply. Sally looked over to see him passed out asleep in the chair. She sighed. "Oh.." Minty stood up and stretched saying, "Just throw a blanket on him. He'll probably come to bed at some point in the night." Sally nodded with a disappointing look. Minty noticed and asked, "Something wrong." Sally looked at her answering, "Not really. We're just so busy... No time for us anymore.. If we aren't both apart, I'm working and he's practicing or.. Sleeping.." SHe muttered. Minty sighed, "Maybe one of you should consider less work." Patting Sally on the shoulder then announcing she was heading to the guest room. Sally grabbed a blanket and tossed it over to her future husband. Leaning over him and kissing his forehead softly, tucking him in before making her way to bed herself...
Lightning sat in the chair in the tent of the doctor's at the track. Shirt off as the doctor listened to his heart rate. The man pulled back and asked, "How have you been feeling?" THen began to look at Lightning's scar. "Good." "Just good?" "Better than last week." Assured the racer. The doctor nodded then pulled out his clipboard. "YOu can put on your shirt." He said as he made notes. "I"m going to lower your dosage now. I think it's time to wean you off." He said with a smile. Lightning nodded but wasn't so sure about that really. "But you may have some mood swings. IT's normal though. You will be going through some slight withdrawal for the next few weeks." "Weeks?" "About two." "Okay. SO I'm good?" Asked the racer. The Doctor nodded. SO Lightning left the tent to head back to his garage. He needed to get a good practice in before qualifying today. He stopped suddenly as he noticed Josephine near the Dinico tent. Smiling beautifully as she was talking to a group of dancers. Lightning stared. He couldn't help it. And if he were struck by lightning suddenly! It hit him. A flashback of the ride to the hospital that day!...
The medics put Lightning in the helicopter. The last medic hopped in and about shut the door when "WAIT!" Josie shouted as she ran up to the machine. "I need to be with him!" SHe yelled in panic! One of the medics replied, "Family only! There's barely any room!" Josie showed the man her ring and announced, "I'm his wife!" The medic glanced at Lightning who was breathing heavily, looking up at the ceiling of the copter. The Medic nodded then helped Josie in Josie sat next to Lightning and grabbed his hand. LIghtning clenched his grip around Josie's hand in fear. Fear he was going to die! He looked at Josie, lips shaking. Josie smiled with tears in her eyes. She still loved him and still cared. Lightning's body shivered as if he were cold as he barely muttered, "IT burns..." One Medic replied, "Then this is really going to hurt." And poured something over his wound. LIghtning shouted in pain, fighting the medic a bit. The other one pushed LIghtning down and tried calming the racer, "Sir! Calm down! We need you to be still so we can address the damage!" LIghtning's every move only made the pain worse! He shouted and whined in pain, shaking and moving around. Not keeping still as blood pulled. One medic told the other, "Sedate him or something or he's going to kill himself.. We have to get the bleeding under control..." Josie heard this and grabbed LIghtning's face firmly then kissed his lips! FOrcing him to at least try and calm down. A long and bittersweet kiss. As if, because it could indeed be the last. The last woman he ever touched, ever kissed, ever saw! The kiss broke and the two locked eyes. Lightning's breathing slowed his heart rate slowing. Medics working hard to save his life as he and Josie stared into each other's eyes before LIghtning's vision went dark and he felt like he couldn't breathe.
LIghtning stared at Josie. She noticed finally and stared back. Waving cutely and subtly. Josie said something more to the dinico girl then began to make her way to Lightning. Lightning stood frozen. Remembering that day, that moment he saw Josie and he realized something. Watching Josie make her way closer.. That this is what Sally spoke of. When she said she loved Ben still. That she would always love him. Before Sally and Josie, Lighting thought you could only love one person. And that if you left them, then you never really loved them but.. As Josie approached. He loved her. This is what love and painful love felt like. IT was a rather confusing feeling. Not exactly grief, not exactly heartache, but.. Somewhere between. Josie stood in front of him and asked, "How are you doing?" Lightning blinked a few times as he stared at this amazing and beautiful woman. "I'm alright." HE answered softly. Josie smiled replying, "I'm glad. And Third. YOu are doing better." LIghtning nodded, agreeing. Josie took a step closer to him and hugged him. He could smell her hair.
Sending memories flooding. If he were the man he was now with Josie, he would have married her. Josie pulled back and asked, "How is Sally?" LIghtning nodded answering, "Good. We are.. Planning the wedding nowadays." "That's great, baby. I'm happy for you." She added. LIghtning nodded once more and asked, "How are you? Are you?.. Okay?" Josie nodded, "I am, thanks for asking. Does it hurt a lot?" She asked, looking down at his stomach. LIghtning glanced down before answering, "Only when I move certain ways." "Sally being gentle with you?" "WHat-yes." He blushed. Josie snickered seeing that. "Can I see it?" She asked. LIghtning blushed more before nodding. Josie took the hem of his shirt and lifted it slightly. Take a look at the small scar. She brushed her hand over it, making LIghtning inhale suddenly. She giggled assuring, "I'm not going to hurt you." Smiling up at him as she took a closer look. She then straightened his shirt back down and looked into his eyes. "Thanks. For not dying on me." She joked. A little. LIghtning smiled at her. Then a man called for her, "Josephine!" Josie and Lightning looked his way. The model smiled and said, "That's my husband. Probably wanting to make his way to the food stands." She giggled. Lightning hated seeing the man. Not sure why he did, but he did.
Josie took Lightning's hands and sighed announcing, "I'm coming to a few more raced but then I'm afraid you won't be seeing me anymore." "What? Why?" Asked Lightning. Josie frowned answering, "I have a new job in London." "London? Wow. That's impressive." "I know! I'm excited!" Josie exclaimed with a perfect and wide smile. It made Lightning smile seeing her so happy. "We should get dinner sometime before you leave the states." Lightning suggested. Josie nodded agreeing, "I'd like that very much, baby." "Josie!" Her husband called and waved. Josie sighed, "I better go." Then took off to her new love. Lightning watched her go. Josie would never trick him and not tell him she stopped taking birth control. Josie would have made time for them. Probably. After all, she didn't work near as much as Sally did. Maybe it was time he tried asking Sally to give up one or two of her jobs for them. But he was worried she would just push retirement on him if he did. But he wouldn't truly know unless he tried...
