A/N: I did not forget about this fan fic. I just have been having.. a major writers block for it. So I went back and reread the chapters and now I know what this chapter is going to be about. I think you all are going to like it.
Chapter Twenty
The wedding day was finally here. Everyone was rushing around. Frantically trying to scrape together last minute things. It was stressful for all, but especially for the bride and the groom. Thoughts kept zooming through their minds as others rushed around them trying to get them ready.
Molly and Hermione were constantly prodding at Ginny and rearranging her hair. Ginny was happy, even though Hermione, her maid of honor, couldn't fit into her dress dueto her rapidly growing belly.Hermione and Ginny had picked out a different one that would fit Hermione comfortably.
It was a light blue color just like the other bridesmaids dresses were, but unlike the others it had wide satin straps. The other dresses were eloquent, andstrapless and shorter than Hermione's by just a small amount.
Ginny, like most brides, was overly nervous and excited in most respects. She felt a slight tinge of nausea as Hermione helped her with her makeup. Molly had left the room saying she had forgotten something or another. Hermione carefully applied a small amount of makeup, not really wanting to hide Ginny's features. Ginny, in most people's eyes, was much prettier without makeup caked onto her face.
"Aw, Gin, you are so beautiful," Hermione gasped after Ginny had put on her wedding dress. It was a dazzling dress with spaghetti straps. At Ginny's waist line it puffed out, like a ballroom dress, and went down past her feet, dragging along the floor. The waist line and below was covered by a spectacular lace.
"You think so?" Ginny asked unsure.
"I know so," Hermione said squatting to fix the bottom of Ginny's dress, right as Molly walked in carrying a small box. Molly sat down on the bed that was in the room and signaled the two girls over to sit with her. Ginny sat down carefully trying not to ruin her dress, while Hermione plopped down.
Molly quietly opened the box while saying," Amidst all the wedding plans and Hermione and Ron's news of expecting a baby and hospital trips, I had almost forgotten something you were missing. Seeing as our family has never done muggle weddings, for some reason that I really am unsure of, I don't really know how I know this, but I do. Hermione is the one who reminded me of this and she helped me with it tremendously. These simple things I am about to give you will hopefully help you through this grand day and perhaps guide you through."
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue," Hermione said reaching into her purse and grabbing a small box of her own. Ginny now had a tear streaming down her face. Yeah maybe her mom was the wedding Nazi, maybe she a little overbearing, but she loved with her whole heart not just a part of it. The thing that really and truly touched Ginny was that even though her mother was perhaps dying and the fact that she had to carry her LVAD around with her at all times, she still thought of Ginny first. She thought of everything and Ginny couldn't bear to think that this woman, her mother, that she loved so so so much was had a very little chance of living longer that two years. Just long enough to see the grandchild she would be receiving from Ron and Hermione grow to be one.
So, as Molly, pulled a small item out of the box that was plain, but seemed to glow with love, Ginny pulled her mother into a huge hug. Hermione sat there awkwardly, but suddenly she was dragged into the hug too, and before everything was said and done they were all crying.
"Something old," Molly said as she pulled out a crystal wineglass. It looked old and dinged up, but perhaps that didn't matter," it was your great great grandmothers."
"Something new," Molly said pulling out another small object out of the box. It was a plain silver locket, and inside it had pictures of her and Harry, but behind the pictures of Harry and her there was pictures of her mum and dad and behind that was her grandparents… and so on. Ginny felt more tears threatening to pour but she held them in.
"Something borrowed," Hermione stepped in, and Ginny suddenly turned to her with a broad smile on her face. Hermione slowly pulled something out of her purse, instead of the box. It was considerably too big to have fit in the small box that Hermione held.
"You didn't," Ginny squealed. It was a wedding veil. Ginny of course already had one, but she had begged Hermione to use this one. Hermione had had it in her closet for some reason and Ginny fell in love with the thing. It was considerably longer than her own and much more beautiful.
"It was my mums," Hermione started," so be careful with it."
"I will," Ginny said hugging her friend tightly.
"And lastly… something blue," Hermione said pulling a small ring out of the box. It was a silver ring, but it had blue gems in it.
"This was my ring that I was given when I was a sixteen. My grandmother gave it to me. She thought it was mybirthstone, but it isn't. But it turns out that is yours."
Ginny slipped the ring onto her pinky and stood up, as did Hermione and Molly.
"Thank you both so much. You thought of everything. I love you both so much. I don't know what I would do without you," Ginny said pulling them into another big hug.
