A/N: Originally, I wanted to add in a different prompt I've written for this AU but decided to slot it in later. I think it's best if it stays in a somewhat chronological order compared to the Dark Adrien AU; especially since there's quite a lot more content for the former.

But that aside, welcome back my fellow peasants ,':D

Thank you all for your delicious comments last chapter and I hope the payments shall continue as I continue editing the prompts and drabbles for Kiss AU! It's a fair price, wouldn't you say? A wonderful equivalent exchange except my one singular brain cell is trying to English her way through the editing process lol?

Without further ado, enjoy~

The day starts off with Marinette, Nino and Alya spamming Adrien with birthday wishes texts on his phone- the boy consecutively sending them since midnight just because he can, much to the blonde's elation. Marinette's messages incorporate plenty of heart emojis and jokes catered to his 'punny' taste, making Adrien's heart melt merrily.

"I'm telling ya Plagg, she's wife material...WIFE MATERIAL!"

"She sent you a horrifying pun about cats, kid."

"A-aaaah~ My future wife~~~!"

"...ugh..."

He still doesn't accept the smelly camembert from Plagg and the latter simply shrugged and devoured the wedge instead like a vacuum, much to Adrien's horror.

Marinette does in fact make the scarf for him as well as some handmade passion-fruit macarons, a recipe she perfected all night just for him. She has some doubts, however, wondering if these gifts were too much or too little (since they've only known each other for less than a week) and if she'll ruin the team dynamic or scare him off- cue an overthinking Marinette and a tired Alya trying to calm her down.

Every time she attempts to give the precious gifts, Marinette dumbly chickens out and avoids Adrien like the plague, much to his dismay. He was already really upset that his father didn't even see him or even acknowledge him today, also refusing his request for a party so seeing Marinette run off every time he's nearby really crushed him.

He wondered if he was doing anything wrong or if he did anything to offend her lately, reaching far-fetched conclusions like the dramatic fool he was.

"Plagg! What if she moves away to London or Shanghai or even Hawaii just so that she never has to see my face again? Then I'll be alone forever, Le Papillon will take over Paris, Chloé will be insufferable and I'll be ALONE FOREVER!"

"You said that twice,"

"I'M DESTINED TO MARRY LONELINESS!"

Luckily, Nino was quick to console the brooding blonde, telling him that perhaps Marinette is up to something, maybe even planning a pleasant surprise. Something for Adrien's birthday. The model smiles at this, building up some hope and deciding to patiently wait for the love of his life to come around.

Things go similarly to canon; Nino tries convincing Adrien's father for a party but gets rejected instantly and deemed as a bad influence, banned from entering the residence ever again. (Gabriel is very cold at the beginning of the AU but slowly warms up so bear with him for a sec).

Nino gets akumatised the next moment.

When Le Bubbleur announces his presence along with their troubled classmates, Adrien debates on whether to call Marinette for the transformation or to listen to Plagg and enjoy what's possibly the only party he'd ever get to enjoy in his lifetime. (Though his intentions for his kitten was somewhat good, the little God of destruction eyed the cheese platter at the venue and was simultaneously fuelled with greed).

Adrien makes the rash decision in going to the party, still misunderstood and hurt by Marinette's avoidance today. Who knows? Maybe Le Bubbleur won't hurt anyone as long as everyone's partying!

Poor Marinette on the other hand was running through Paris like a mad woman, adrenaline fuelling her veins, following the giant bubble trail with Adrien's present in hand in hopes of finding him.

As soon as Chloé's request for a slow, 'romantic' dance gets granted, Adrien immediately scrambles away like his namesake, out of the party with a big "NOPE!", promptly calling Marinette to alert her of the akuma's location. He was hidden outside the mansion in one of the many CCTV's blindspots.

"So what made you think it's a good idea to tell me this half an hour after he came to your house whilst I was scouring the other side of Paris like a headless chicken?" Her deadpanned tone sent a figurative arrow through Adrien's body, sagging with so much guilt and shame and he wanted the ground to swallow him up so badly.

How could he have let his selfishness get to him?

"I know, I'm sorry. I messed up- I just thought that I'd enjoy it whilst it lasts because it'll never happen again. Ughhhhh...I'm such a spoilt brat..." The model was now hitting his head against the wall, hoping it'd knock some sense into him. "And you were acting all jumpy today, running away from me. I thought I did something to offend you or you that hated me-"

"I could never hate you! Minou! It's impossible to hate you." Marinette's voice turned affectionately soft and Adrien could tell that she was furrowing her eyebrows right now right this second. "I'm so sorry I made you think that! I was planning something in all honesty but couldn't help but keep chickening out..."

"Oh? Don't apologise, My Lady. You know how I can get dramatic sometimes...hehe. And what are you planning? Something special for me?"

"Well~ considering how you partied with your akumatised best friend instead of calling me right away, I think you can make do without the special macarons I made."

"NO! MARINETTE! YOU CANNOT TREAT YOUR ELDERS LIKE THAT! Talk about disrespectful..."

"Looks like Tikki is in for a treat tonight, isn't that right?" The high pitched giggle from the red kwami in the background from Marinette's side was like torture to the boy as he pictured the delicious treats slipping out of his grasps.

"I'd do anything for your forgiveness, please, ANYTHING. Just don't give my macarons to Tikki, my sweet, dear, amazing, wonderful, princess, knightress in shining polka dots!" Plagg was close to gagging at his charge's silly theatrics. Why was he always stuck with the sappy ones?

"Hahahah! Alright then, I just need you to turn around,"

"Turn around? Why-"

Suddenly, silken, familiar pair of lips crashed into his whilst the small body collided into him. Slender arms wrapped around his neck so romantically that Adrien couldn't help but internally swoon. He was quick to respond, clasping his arms around Marinette's waist and tilting his head ever so slightly to deepen the wonderful kiss, ignorant to their bodies transforming into their iconic heroic gears.

Supple cotton was replaced with a flexible yet cool material. Gelled up blonde locks were replaced with fluffy, untamed treses. The feel of their lips against each other transformed into an indescribable awareness that only comes along when they're guised as their vigilant personas.

Ladybug was the first to pull away, eyes still fluttered closed and lips cutely pursed. Her gloss was tastefully smudged, leaving a sparkling residue on his lips and the boy couldn't help but smirk victoriously.

"Happy Birthday, Adrien," She breathed out like a prayer. This broke whatever sense Chat's mind had because before they knew it, his legs decided to convert into jelly, causing him to melt into Ladybug's arms like he was made of liquid.

Literally.

"Best. Birthday. EVER." Chat purred out dreamily, causing his lover to laugh heartily and set him back on his feet. Then, he saw the pale, wrapped up present that Marinette placed on the side along with a box with the boulangerie logo branded. Ladybug turned to see where he was staring, only to charmingly blush and look away, putting two pointer fingers together.

"T-T-There's more stuff to give you but we really need to get to the akuma. Otherwise, all the adults in Paris will be floating in space." The words spilt out of her mouth faster than she could process, anxious once again and the urge to run off with her hands covering her face increasing every second.

The anxiety was soon tempered away by the touch of his gloved hand resting on her reddened cheek, making Ladybug look back towards him. A beautiful, loving smile was resting on his lips, eyelids lowered with fondness and unconditional devotion as his head shifted ever so slightly to the side.

Chat Noir brought their lips together once more, not deterred at all by Ladybug's surprised squeak. This kiss was much shorter than the one beforehand but it carried an enticing sweetness that could rival the fresh macarons in the box. Chat let his hand caress her cheek once more, claws delicately grazing her milky skin before pulling away. His warm, tender gaze never left his face whilst Ladybug felt her heart skip way too many beats for it to be healthy.

Their love grew for each other even more.

"Thank you, Marinette,"

So, they easily defeat Le Bubbleur, their trust and feelings for each other having grown, impacted their dynamic positively. Their moves were much more fluid and adaptable and their gestures and non-verbal communications were much easier for each other to read.

After the battle, before everyone could go home, Gabriel steps out.

His face was stern and Nathalie wore a matching expression, the duo marching towards the teens. Everyone held their breaths but Adrien simply kept a protective arm in front of both Nino and Marinette with as much bravery as he could muster.

Much to his surprise as well as the rest of the class, Gabriel's lips turned into a small, honest smile, handing a present into Adrien's hands. He wishes his son a happy birthday, apologises to Nino for the way he reacted and clears Adrien's schedule for the rest of the day so that he can party or have fun with his friends.

Giddy and delighted, Adrien embraces his father, tears of happiness running down his cheeks as he repeated "Thank you Father!" over and over again.

Everyone melts at this scene and even Gabriel embraces him back after shoving hesitation aside. The gift turned out to be a gorgeous hand-sewn cardigan to which Agreste senior quips with: "The amount of cat related jackets you own is appalling,".

Adrien makes the most of this, introducing his father to his friends properly whilst everyone else mingles at the party. When Gabriel saw the happiness and joy on Adrien's face when he opened Marinette's gifts, he knew at that moment that that's his future daughter-in-law.

Operation Adrinette commenced.

(He made Nathalie write that down, much to the secretary's silent laughter).

Being a weeb at heart, Adrien wraps the scarf around both his neck and Marinette's to match the couple in the last anime he watched, their hands clasped and cheeks flushed. Everyone took pictures of them like that and even Adrien has one framed in his room after bribing Alya for it (when she was about to offer it for free- but who would turn down an interview with THE Chat Noir if proposed? Being friends with rich boys have its perks, especially if they have contacts with superheroes).
