A/N: Another one about Albel and Fayt...aren't you all shocked? XD okay...not really…anyway…this is from Fayt's viewpoint...I did one from Albel's so now I have to do one form Fayt's…although the two stories have no connection at all…anyway…you can still read Your Pain is My Betrayal if you want... it's not necessary...but if you do you had better review it! I shake my first in your general direction. Reviews! I love them!
Disclaimer: This is kind of based on my attitude...but I gave it to Fayt. XD
There is more than one way to say thank you. A lot of those ways don't require saying anything at all. I know my parents have always demanded that I say thank you when people give me presents, but I don't think it's really necessary. As long as I find some way to express my gratitude, I think that pretty much covers it.
I think Albel and I have the same philosophy. Getting him to say thank you to anybody, even me, is more of a hassle than it's worth. Forcing him to say thank you usually ends up with Albel in a foul mood and ready to kill the person that is forcing him to show gratitude and the person that gave him the present for creating the situation that forced him to show gratitude. All in all, not the way gift giving should be done.
Occasionally, Albel will give me a grudging thanks for something, especially if other people are watching and they are thee type who will force him to say thank you anyway. Sometimes Albel just isn't in the mood to kill people. Shocking, I know. But most of the time, Albel finds other ways to express his gratitude.
Personally, I don't care if he never says thank you. The words don't matter. The attitude is what really matters. If Albel likes something I give him, he'll either smile or say, "I can use this" and grin wickedly at either Nel or Cliff, his least favorite people. Man, I need to find something besides weapons and clothes to give him. Clothes, not too bad, but boring. Weapons, bad. He's already violent enough and doesn't need encouragement.
Anyway, seeing Albel use whatever I give him is usually all the thanks I need. Especially since whatever I give him to wear looks good on him. Damn, I wish I could do that. That's just the way Albel likes to be thanked also. He doesn't appreciate hugs and fountains of happiness. He would just roll his eyes and get annoyed. But sometimes, very rarely, and only when we're alone, he'll wrap his arms around me and whisper, "I'm glad you got that for me. It's one of the best presents I ever had." That blush on my face? I'm just telling him that he's welcome, very welcome.
