''Where has Kagome gone?'' Raven questioned. ''I swear that child will be the death of me.''
''I'll go look for her momma,'' Rin offered. ''Don't worry.''
Rin walked outside to the backyard just in time to see Kagome run back inside. Rin looked towards where her sister ran past her in confusion before looking out into the yard and seeing Sesshomaru standing a few feet away, watching her.
Rin felt like he was stealing her breath away.
They continued to stare at each other until Sesshomaru walked away, looking back once to make sure Rin knew to follow.
Kagome wiped her tears away before heading to the living room where everyone was waiting. Kyo immediately ran up to her.
''What's wrong, my princess? You aren't having a good time?'' Kyo questioned.
''Of course I am. I've never been happier,'' Kagome sighed.
''Sure. Do you think I believe you? Come on. Kyo would love to know what's going on,'' Kyo smirked.
''Kyo, please. Remember our deal. No questions,'' Kagome reminded him.
''Okay. Fine. I agree, but I still worry about you. We're engaged after all,'' Kyo teased her.
Kagome whimpered and pulled Kyo in for an embrace . ''Then hold me, you idiot.''
Sango paced in the kitchen nonstop for the past twenty minutes.
''Why didn't I interrupt? Why didn't I interrupt? They're probably still in there,'' Sango wiped the tears she had running down her face just as Rin walked in from outside.
''Hey,'' Rin greeted her.
''Where were you?'' Sango immediately asked. ''I was looking for you.''
''What's with the tone? What's wrong?'' Rin questioned.
Sango laughed. ''Me? Nothing. I'm just great. But you are right. I don't know what's wrong. Can you explain it to me? Where were you?''
''I was out,'' Rin laughed a little. ''What's wrong with that?''
Sango scoffed. ''Liar.''
Rin shot around to look at her younger sister. ''What is wrong with you? Why are you talking to me like this?''
''I've never seen you do something so wrong,'' Sango said.
''Explain yourself. What are you talking about, please?'' Rin pleaded.
''I saw you with Sesshomaru,'' Sango revealed. ''You're shameless.''
Rin's eyes widened. ''Wait a second. You have no right-'' ''You have no right to be messing around with the construction worker like some whore!'' Sango yelled. ''Now I understand why you were so nervous this morning. How could you?''
Rin shrugged. ''Sesshomaru is the love of my life.''
Sango shook her head. ''No. No. It's not love if you have to sneak around like some tramp!''
''Enough!'' Rin snapped. ''I won't let you insult me, and much less question my feelings. Do you understand?''
''Rin..you're cheating on your husband,'' Sango reminded her.
''I already signed the divorce papers!'' Rin exclaimed. ''Believe it or not, Naraku won't sign them! I'm going to court because I've had enough.''
''That gives you no right to get involved with a man who doesn't deserve you! I really looked up to you, but that's long gone now,'' Sango whimpered.
Rin swallowed. ''Good. I don't want you to see me as an example. I want you to look at the life I've lived and do the opposite! Meet someone you genuinely care for and love and marry them so you don't have to hide like I do. Don't marry someone who you can't stand to even look at. And most importantly, don't do everything momma wants you to.'' Rin left Sango in the kitchen and ran upstairs.
The next morning, Kagome and Rin returned from riding their horses.
''Hey, girl. Don't get mad,'' Rin suddenly voiced. ''Are you and Kyo for real? Do you really love him?''
''What are you insinuating? Don't tell me you agree with Sango,'' Kagome rolled her eyes.
Rin sat down in front of her baby sister. ''I'm just worried. I don't want you to make a mistake like me.''
Kagome sighed. ''I don't understand, Rinny. First you warn me to stay away from Inuyasha. Now that I do what everyone wants me to, you lecture me?''
''I don't want you to be unhappy. And you will be if you're only marrying Kyo to get all your privileges back and to get momma off your case,'' Rin warned her. ''Seriously. Are you in love with Kyo?''
''I'm engaged because I am. Seriously. I swear,'' Kagome promised.
''Okay,'' Rin sighed.
Kagome noticed. ''Oh no. Is there something else you want to talk about? Spit it out! Come on!''
Rin bit down on her bottom lip before moving to sit right next to her sister. ''It's just that..Sango saw Sesshomaru and I making love. She's really angry.''
Kagome's eyes widened and she covered her mouth. ''I am dying. Do you think she'd tell momma?''
Rin shrugged.
A couple weeks passed and the girls were preparing for a party.
''They say Julia's arrogant and she thinks the world revolves around her, but she'd better be ready. We'll see who stands out more,'' Kagome grinned as she rubbed lotion onto her legs while talking with her sisters.
''That's why I was going to ask you for some advice,'' Sango laid out several pairs of dress pants out onto Kagome's bed. ''Which of these do you like better for tonight?''
''Sango...none!'' Kagome burst out into laughter. ''I don't know which one is worse!''
''You're so mean! Why can't you help me?'' Sango whined.
''Because they're ugly!'' Kagome continued to laugh. ''They look like some old lady's-'' ''That's enough. I'm going shopping. Want to come? I'll help you pick something out,'' Rin offered.
''No, I'm sorry,'' Sango declined and gathered her clothes. ''There's one thing I'm sure about. Our tastes are very different.''
''That's for sure!'' Kagome giggled.
''I want you looking beautiful, my girls,'' Their grandfather wheeled himself into Kagome's room. ''I want the party to start already. I want to drink some tequila with my brave soldiers.''
Kagome looked up. ''The workers are coming to the party?''
''Momma gave them permission to take care of grandpa, right?'' Rin looked at Sango. ''Yes, Miroku's coming too. The hospital discharged him.''
Jaken nodded. ''Sesshomaru told me Miroku is all better, so we're going to celebrate.''
''I should go. I don't want to be late,'' Rin kissed Kagome on the cheek and stood.
''Rin..'' Sango stopped her. ''I'll go with you to find something new. But I will pick out what I'm wearing!''
''Sure, and throw those pants away while you're at it!'' Kagome laughed again.
''What's wrong with Inuyasha?'' Miroku asked his oldest brother while he was folding laundry. ''He seems really angry. Did you get in a fight or what?''
''He's been like that since Kagome and Kyo Michi got engaged,'' Sesshomaru answered.
''Why are you both up so early? It's sunday,'' Inuyasha came out from his room.
''We have to go to the ranch. Raven wants us taking care of Mr. Jaken at the party,'' Sesshomaru explained.
Miroku chuckled. ''You mean she wants us entertaining him to keep him out of trouble.''
''How convenient,'' Inuyasha sneered. ''We came to avenge our sister's death and instead we're serving the woman who drove her to her death.''
''We're not anyone's servants,'' Sesshomaru snapped. ''We're taking care of a friend. There's no problem.''
''There is a problem. I have no place at that party, house, or it's surroundings. That's why I won't be returning to the Higurashi ranch,'' Inuyasha revealed.
''I've never seen so many stuck up people in one place at the same time,'' Kagome whispered to Rin while she faked a smile and waved.
Rin giggled. ''Easy baby sister.''
''Good evening,'' Sesshomaru came up behind Rin.
''Good evening,'' Rin smiled.
Kagome and Inuyasha stared at each other.
''Good evening, Miss Rin. Miss Kagome,'' Miroku greeted them.
''Good evening, Miroku,'' Sango appeared.
Miroku's eyes widened at the sight of Sango wearing a tight black dress that ended right above her knees. ''Miss Sango? I didn't recognize you. You look so...so..nice.''
Sango smiled. ''I'm glad to see you out of the hospital.''
''Thank you,'' Miroku replied with his own smile.
''Where is your grandfather?'' Sesshomaru asked.
''He's over there just waiting to cause trouble,'' Rin answered. ''Please, take good care of him.''
Sesshomaru nodded. ''Of course.''
''Excuse us,'' Miroku said and left with his brother towards Jaken.
''My boys!'' Jaken exclaimed. ''Raven told all the waiters not to serve me alcohol so I brought my own.''
''Julia is here!'' Someone announced.
The boys looked and their eyes widened.
''It's her..'' Miroku whispered.
''Sayo..'' Sesshomaru finished for his brother.
''She's identical,'' Inuyasha voiced.
