You weren't supposed to be here. You know that. She knows that. But, alas, here you are, in her bed, in her arms, in her warm embrace.
You KNOW this is wrong. She knows it's wrong. But you can't keep from coming here.
Every time she looks at you, every time she laughs, or smiles, it just sends shivers down your spine.
And you both have someone. She has Alex, and you have Zach. But they're nothing compared to the both of you.
They don't know what it's been like. They haven't been there throughout the years. They weren't there when she almost OD'd. They weren't there when you almost lost Seth to Anna. They don't know anything. They haven't cried the tears, or kicked any asses, or fought for love, or pride.
You look at her and smile when she tells you she loves you. You know she doesn't mean it the way you wish she did. She just says it so you won't feel empty. You know she loves Alex, and when you wake up she'll be gone. She'll be back in Alex's bed, back in Alex's arms, making love to Alex.
But that's okay. You've gotten used to it. You know that she'll never be yours. But you both have each other to crawl to when you need to escape.
And that's all you need. That's all this is; an escape.
It's just a simple escape, right?
