Chapter 30: Family Flames

*It is high noon at the council building. Each council member is sitting in their respective seats and Roxina is in the center*

Erza speaks first, "Are you ready to give your report Roxina?" Roxina nods, "On our last mission, several groups were sent to investigate what we believed to be random incidents. Each group had several mages from different guilds teamed up. We told them it was because they were the best combinations when in fact it was to judge the wizards' strengths and weaknesses. We were shocked to learn that each of the incidents were connected in that they were keys to opening a portal to the world we now refer to as The Underworld. It is thanks to Hikari and the deal she made with a mysterious man in a purple suit that we were able to return home and close the portal."

Jerzern raises his hand, "So we have no clue who this man was, who organized these events, what they are planning next, or how strong they are. Is there any useful information you did find?" Roxina looks up from the paper, "I was able to confirm that Gray Fullbuster's experiment with God Slayer Lacrima was successful. However, neither are strong enough to face Natsu Dragneel." Bacchus sighs, "So the fire breather is still the strongest in the land, what a shame."

"That… I'm not sure about," Roxina responds.

The group sits at attention.

Roxina rolls her eyes at their eagerness, "I'm not exactly sure how, but while we were in The Underworld, it was only for a second, but there was definitely a power that at least matched Natsu and if it was who I think it was then we need to be paying close attention to this festival."

*Next day*

The streets of Magnolia are filled with people. Vendors are selling food, decorations are all over the buildings, music is coming from… somewhere, and everyone is having a wonderful time. In the center of town, we see Gin Fullbuster, Kaiser Dragneel, Namika Serinta, Lokore Thonin, Jania Price, and Brazz Fullbuster watching awkwardly.

Namika looks around in surprise, "Well this place is vastly different from the last time we were here. A lot livelier." Kaiser turns a page in the book he is reading, "It happens every time Natsu returns home from a trip. The town throws a festival centered around a tournament to show how strong the members have gotten. However…"

*Flashback*

"WHAT!?"

All the teams are in the council room getting medical treatment with Erza standing in the center, "I said with Natsu being home and you guys successfully completing your mission, I feel you all deserve to celebrate. I cleared it with your guild masters and Freed is handling the paperwork; you can all participate in the Fairy Festival, if you're up to it of course. You can just watch."

Kaiser sweat drops, "What if you want to skip it all together?" Erza slowly turns her head and gives him a terrifying smile, "Not an option." Everyone in the room squeaks in fear and nods.

*Flashback ends*

"This is the first time they've allowed other guilds to participate, wonder why?"

"BIG BROTHER!"

Kaiser flinches as the group looks behind him. Coming towards them is the group of Duo, Hikari, and Silvia. Leading the pack is a little kid that looks just like Kaiser and on Duo's shoulders is a little girl that looks like Akiko. Kaiser turns to see the group, "Rieku! Lily! I'm surprised to se- oof!"

Rieku jumps up and tackles Kaiser, sending both to the ground. Lily starts to wiggle around; understanding what she wants, Duo puts her down and she runs over and jumps on her two brothers. Kaiser smiles, for the first time his guildmates have seen in a long time.

"It's good to see you both; it has been quite some time. Gosh you two have gotten big," Kaiser turns to Hikari, "Where is the rest of my family?" Hikari smiles, "Oh, Akiko wanted some alone time with your parents, so we took the little ones and Rieku said he smelled you. Naturally, we followed him." Kaiser raises an eyebrow, "I hope everything is alright."

*Meanwhile in the forest not too far from the guild*

Akiko and Raiu are holding hands in front of Lucy and Natsu, who has a confused look on his face. Natsu raises his hand, "Um what's a lesbian?" Lucy whispers in Natsu's ear. Natsu's face shows a look of realization, "Oh! So does that mean they do that thing you have me do every Tuesday instead of the thing on Thursday or-?" Lucy punches him into the ground, "Not in front of the kids!"

Lucy turns to them, "Well, isn't this lovely; we're very happy for you two." Akiko looks at Raiu in surprise, "I thought that would be harder." Lucy tilts her head slightly, "Well when you fight giant monsters and have saved the world several times, your child's sexuality is kind of not that big of a deal, hehe." Natsu nods his head, "Right! Now Luce, can you move your fist? I can't move." The girls look at him and laugh.

*Back in town*

Rieku and Lily are running around a fountain that Duo and Kaiser are sitting on. A few feet away, Hikari is talking to Namika and Jania. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" Kaiser turns and looks at Duo with a questioning look. Duo continues, "Since you've seen them. I just assumed you had been back while we were on missions, but that doesn't seem to be the case." Kaiser looks down at his hand, "I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't return 'til I was strong enough to beat Natsu. I thought I was when we had our guild battle, but seeing him in The Underworld… I definitely have a lot of work to do."

Duo smirks, "Why do you think us Fairy Tail wizards are so strong?" Kaiser looks up at him confused, "It's because you have your friends behind you, right? I used to be one too, remember?" Duo shakes his head, "That might have been the older generation's reason, but not ours. We are strong and get stronger for the same reason you left: to escape the shadows of the past generation. We all have our resentments, but to beat someone like Natsu… you need more."

Namika and Jania walk away; Hikari turns and waves at the two. Duo stands, stretching, "Well that's my cue. Hope you didn't have any plans." Kaiser looks at him then his siblings, "You mean…" Duo nods, "Yup they're all yours; if you need anything, me and Hikari will be at my parents book shop." "But, but, but-" Duo smacks him on the head, "You'll be fine, they're only kids." Duo starts walking then stops, "Oh and I hope you'll be joining the tournament." He looks over his shoulder, eyes glowing red, "If you make it to me, it'll be just like the good old days." Duo joins Hikari and they head towards their parents' shop. Kaiser looks up at the sky.

*Throughout Magnolia*

Junshi, Marco and Tia are walking down the street. Jarvan, the twins Chrissy & Rose, and Jasper are setting up a stage. Gin, Silvia, and Brazz are getting ice cream. Yuka, Aria, and Roagan are in a hotel room relaxing. Roxina is accompanying Erza in a dress store when Namika and Jania walk in. Akiko, Raiu, Lucy and Natsu are eating a meal at a cafe.

*Back to Kaiser*

"Big brother!" Kaiser looks at his siblings who are running towards him, "Can we get something to eat?" Kaiser gets up and reaches out for them to take his hands, "Alright, let's see what we can find for you guys."

N/N: One chapter down, and before a year passed. Neat. (I finished this in like February and never uploaded it, hahahahaha everything is fine.)
