*Getting late by Slander begins to play.*

"Slowly, I feel something inside me change

It can't just be me

Faking my truth so I believe my lies

Nothing feels concrete

When did we let the time do the talking?

What will it take? How can we stop it? (Stop it)

It's pullin' us down

How can I make you hear what I'm saying?

'Cause when there's clouds, you're already leaving (leavin')

Make it all slow down

'Cause it's getting late

And I wish, and I wish that maybe you would stay

Is it almost too late?

There's so much, there's so much that I want the chance to say

But it's getting late, is it too late?

Is it too late?

But it's getting late, is it too late?"

Screams echoed in the walls of the darkness she was engulfed in. No matter where she turned there was nothing. Nothing but the ever fading echo of her beloved friend Terra. The screams bounced around as if it were a vast forest of objects, yet there was nothing. She aimlessly followed the faint screams for what seemed like hours. The quietness of the place she had wandered was eriee and calm.

The voice began to get closer and closer. Slowly she pulled her feet one foot in front of the other. It felt as if she was walking in cement. Her feet were heavy and cold. The voice changed directions as a crack began to form under Raven's feet. She gasped and stepped back as the ground tore open with the force of and explosion. Beneath the ground there was a pool of violent lava. As the ground split below her feet, the souls of the dead began to pour out into the abyss. She was in hell...Above she heard the voice screaming for help. Raven looked up to see Terra falling helplessly. Raven could not move. She was frozen in time. She watched as Terra fell closer and closer into the chasm. Her eyes grew big and filled with tears.

The blackness began to fade.

"Noooooo!" Raven screamed desperately

Her eyes shot open.

"Ughhh" " What the hell happened?"

The room was spinning around her. The sun beaming into her face.

"Fuck..."

She had realized that she blacked out once again on the living room floor. This was a often occurrence for Raven. Coping with the stresses of her mind made it difficult for her to be sober for very long.

The dream was familiar to her. As every time she turned to stone as if to remind her of Terra's frozen state.

Her breathing was heavy and staggered. She composed herself for a minute before she began to pull herself off the floor. Beside her sat Terra's hair clip. She was reminded of the dream. Her hands were shaking and her breath was trembling. For what seemed like an eternity she stared at the hair clip.

"...this...has to be it..." She mumbled.

"I have to do this. I can't take another FUCKING dream like this!!" She desperately screamed.

"If I can do anything right in this lifetime, this would be the one thing." She said to herself as she stared at the floor. She walked over to grab her notes, a few books, and then she took one more sip out of her bottle which was not too far from her reach.

She took a deep breath and flew out of the tower to the sight of where Terra was turned to stone. Once she reached the cave, she floated slowly down to the ground. Her feet gently touching the cold ground was enough to put her on edge. The wind was gently grazing her cheeks as her hair danced gracefully in its presence. It was calm and silent. Only the echos of the cave and the sound of the slight breeze filled the air. Chills instantly took over her body.

She was nervous, not sure if her plan would even work, or what the outcome would be. She didn't think that she would make it out alive, if they both walked out of the cave alive, she would have her wishes. The spell she was about to cast would take more energy than she had ever been able to exert. She was unsteady and unsure if she even had enough strength in her body to complete this task. This is a moment she had been waiting years for. She had done much research. But such a simple task was well safeguarded for all the right reasons. Things turned to stone were typically not meant to be brought out of the stone slumber. This, of course, was one exception. One that Raven could justify using a forbidden spell on.

"Terra never deserved all this. It should have been me in there...the world would have been a better place with her in it, and me out of it. Terra..." Her voice began to crack. "I hope this is it."

Raven often wondered if Terra was still even alive under her cement blanket. Could she hear? What does she feel? What pain would this cause her if she wasn't encased in stone?

Her heart began to pound as she took her first step towards the stone Titan. Her feet felt as if they were cement, they were heavy, each step had emotionally drained her the closer to Terra that she got. When she finally reached the fallen Titan, she had taken a few strands of hair out of the clip and placed one hand on the cold body and one hand on her book.

She was numb and determined. She could not turn back now. She closed her eyes.

She began to channel her energy to the palms of her hands. The ground began to shake from the energy that she was focusing. Her eyes became red, her hands became black. She felt the anger, pain, and sorrow build up. She had channeled all her darkest emotions to give her the strength that she needed. She had let out one of the most painful screams that she had ever let out. Her voice was shaky and filled with all her emotions. She channeled her emotions into a large burst of energy, enveloping the cave in its wake. She let out another piercing scream before she began to chant her spell. She began to float above the fallen Titan's stone body as she continued to chat,

"Ut ille qui frigidi facti sunt, haec navitas et ego dabo te sicut fragmen commutationem pro anima. Surge in vitam. esse liberum de somno surgere."

"When the cold, they shall be, these things I will give you, just as a piece of energy and, in exchange for his soul. Rise in life. To be free from sleep."

With every piece of energy and strength she could muster, she let out one final scream after chanting the spell and sent a large blast of energy that exploded through the cave with unrelenting force. The ground was shaking, and the cave had started to crack and collapse. The rocks began falling around her and Terra, crashing into the ground with force. The ground had cracked beneath where she was floating, and with a sudden flash of light and one final release of energy, the life had surged from her body. Her eyes were fixed on the blue aura that had surrounded Terra's body, as she began to fall, her eyes slowly started to close, her body became lifeless, and slammed into the rubble beneath her. She had opened her eyes as much as she could to see the lifeless body of her friend laying just a few inches from her body, out of its stone slumber, she lifted her hand slowly and shakily. With the last bit of strength, she placed her hand on Terra's cold hand.

As the rubble began to settle, the air was blanketed in a thick fog, the cave had become calm once more, not a sound could be heard minus the faint echoes traveling through the cave and a distant rumble.

"Terra" Raven whispered in a weak voice.

Her eyes became heavy, she found herself slipping away into the darkness as her eyes began to shut.
