I DO NOT OWN ANYONE OR ANYTHING IN THIS STORY BESIDES THE OC'S.
Melanie's Point of View-
Corey parked the car in the pier parking garage that was reserved for him, it was awesome to see his name on a spot but I didn't want to show that I was weird for being amused by that.
"Will my bag be okay in your trunk?"
"Yeah, no one will break in nor know it is there." He said as I nodded a I grabbed my smaller bag that was meant for the boat as he grabbed a bag himself seeing his towel on top of the open top bag.
"Lead the way." I said as he smirked, he reached for my hand interlocking his fingers with mine again as he led me towards whichever boat was his as we got to this nice boat, it wasn't what I expected to be but I wasn't sure exactly what I was expecting. Corey handed me his bag as I held onto it for him as he reached up pulling the ladder down for us to climb up.
"Anything fragile in your bag?" He asked.
"No, why?" I asked as he smiled.
"Then don't hate me." He said as he tossed my bag up onto the ship followed by his bag, I just rolled my eyes and chuckled, "It's easier to climb up without a bag weighing you down." Corey explained as I rolled my eyes. I then began climbing up the ladder already feeling it rocking with that of the boat, it wasn't a heavy rock but more of a subtle rocking with that of the waves of the ocean, I just hope that I was one that would get sea sick but I don't think I would and my stomach was pretty much settled by now. I climbed onto the boat and looked down overboard seeing Corey starting to climb up as well, it didn't take him long to get aboard the ship. "I'll go get this baby started, and pull the anchor up if you want to take our bags below deck, the steps are over there." He said pointing with his two fingers where the stairs would be and I nodded as I did just that. I looked around that deck, it was nice in there. There was a tiny kitchen with a sink, fridge, microwave, a tiny stove top that seemed to be installed after he bought it, with a few cabinets, a tiny table that could seat at least four people. I walked further in after setting the two bags down on the table not sure where else to put them as I found the bathroom, it was a small bathroom but it would do for the time being and as bad as I felt for being nosey but I had opened the last door at the end of the walkway and inside was a king sized bed, it was a freaking bedroom with a small closet space and very little furnished. I turned around shutting the door behind me as I headed back up to the upper deck, as I was walking up the steps I gripped a hold onto the railing when the boat jerked into motion as I was finally able to move up the last couple of steps before I moved around seeing Corey shirtless, his shirt resting on the chair behind him as he had took post at the steering wheel thing for the boat.
"This is a really nice boat you have." I said to Corey to get him to look over his shoulder at me and he smirked.
"Thanks." He said as I walked further claiming the other seat up there watching him being the captain.
"Do you ever sleep on here or anything?" I asked curiously.
"Once or twice, usually if I decide to make the boat trip down to Florida or back instead of flying." He answered.
"I bet it is beautiful sail from here to there and vice versa."
"Very much so, but it is a long trip needless to say so if you want it just done and over with I would suggest flying."
"Why have you done the sailing thing?"
"I don't know, I wanted to be alone and clear my head, some odd reason sailing really clears ones head." Corey said as I nodded as I looked out into the ocean and can see what he is talking about per say, the sites alone were beautiful.
"You have any favorite spots out here? How do you even remember where the spots are?" I asked as he chuckled.
"I do have a couple of favorite spots, as to finding where they are or remembering, there is a gps in the boat where it tells you the latitude and longitude so as long as you jet those down you will never get lost or forget those particular spots."
"That must come in handy for sure, are you taking me to one of those today?" I asked.
"Nowhere else would compare." He said with a smirk as I smiled as well as I relaxed letting him do the sailing, I couldn't help but to glance over at him and oddly it was a beautiful site seeing him take charge not to mention that body of his, kind of glad he removed that shirt. Gah, I need to calm down. It was nice times just getting to chat, what better way to get to know each other honestly? I felt the boat slowing down and he smirked, "Can you hold onto this as still as you possibly can?" He asked as I stood up moving over to where he stood and grasped the wheel holding it as still as I could as I tried to watch what he was doing or where he was going, but due to the amount of sounds I could tell it was him dropping the anchor, so this was the spot he was taking me? It was a nice spot and could see why he wanted to pick this spot. "Alright, we are anchored so no worries on holding onto that…you ready to go in?" He asked as I let out an 'uh' before I followed him to the back of the boat where I slid my shoes off and began to pull the pants off to show the bottom half of my one piece. "You not taking off the shirt?" He asked as he was rubbing some sunblock onto his skin. I looked down noticing all the marks on my legs, he hadn't said anything about but knew that my upper body was far worse than that and wasn't ready to bare that to him.
"Uh, no…I am more comfortable with it on." I said as I bit at my bottom lip and he shrugged.
"Whatever you are comfortable with sweetie." He said as he handed me the sunblock he had just been using and began to rub that on the skin that was exposed before I walked over to the edge we would use to get off the boat. "You ever did diving?"
"No, you?" I asked as he smiled as he jumped off the boat backwards doing a backflip and landing into the water feet first as I rolled my eyes waiting for him to resurface.
"You show off!" I yelled down at him as he smiled and chuckled as I began to climb down and jumped rest of the way when I got to the end of the ladder. I swam to the surface gasping for air as he smiled.
"You trust me?" He asked as I looked at him questionably.
"Why" I asked as he smiled.
"Come on." He said as he began to swim and I began to swim behind him towards wherever he wanted to take me, unsure where we were going nor what he wanted to show me. I stopped when he stopped, he reached over grabbing my hand and his other hand pointing, "Watch over there." He said as I did so seeing what he was talking about when I saw dolphins jumping in the distance and I couldn't help but to smile, "Sometimes I like going to that spot and getting down so I could swim with them but not today….I can take you into the cave if you want to go back to the cave." He said as I smirked.
"Sounds great." I said as he did just that, we went into the cave seeing things sparkle off the wall and we walked up the edge so we can walk along the sides of the cave. He sat down on the edge and I sat down beside him, it was magical and beautiful in here, I couldn't help but to look around and observe everything. "This is nice Corey, thank you for bringing me here." I said as he smiled and I smiled too.
"I should get you back to the boat so we can begin drying off by the sun…" Corey answered as I nodded as I stood up following his lead as we headed back to his boat, he was a ninja climbing back onto the boat, and he got to where the ladder began before he turned around offering a hand helping pull me up to that ledge.
"Thanks." I said as he smirked and chuckled,
"No problem, you need to stop saying thank you." He said with a chuckle as he began to climb up the ladder and I was right behind him, he helped me over the side and get onto the boat itself. "I'll go get the towels and some drinks, you can stay out here if you want." He said as I nodded as I walked aside to where my pants were and didn't want to sit on the couch that wrapped around the back of his boat until I had a towel to sit on because I didn't want the seat to get wet. Corey returned with our towels along with two bottles of water, "A towel and a water." He said handing me just that as I stopped myself from saying thank you to him. I wrapped the towel around my lower half so I could finally sit down, and he did practically the same thing as I opened the water to take a big drink from it because I was thirsty. We spent rest of the time either sitting there, but somehow we moved to lay down on the floor letting the sun rays dry the wetness from the ocean. "You want to change, or do you think you are fine in these clothes until we get back to my place?" Corey asked as he was squinting just to stare at me due to the sun.
"I'll be fine until we get back to your place." I answered as I scooted closer oddly, "Now you don't have to squint so hard to see me." I said as he chuckled and smiled.
"I like this." He said as he wrapped an arm around me to hold me tight to him.
"Are we going to leave now?" I asked.
"Nah, I was planning on making lunch real quick on board before I begin the travels back to the dock." He said as I nodded.
"Chef Corey I think that will be a nice side."
"Don't get used to it, and it isn't much."
"I am sure it is great whatever it is, and I don't expect much. I am used to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because that is practically all that Jack eats." I said as him and I both got a good laugh out of it.
"I may not be better than that but I think I can cook more than just peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so be fortunate on that."
"But you aren't the mister Betty Crocker?"
"Far from it, I would be Guy Ferrari where I can just go places and eat than actually cook the food." He said as I just laughed even harder, "I'm just saying, when was the last time have we seen him actually cook something?"
"I'm laughing because you got a point on that." I said as I smiled and he was smiling, he brushed his fingers through my hair and I bit my lip nervously as I broke the eye contact then glanced back up at him. Before I knew it, it was like magnetic and our heads were moving closer as our lips met in a soft kiss, it was romantic to an extent and even after it broke, I was blushing and biting at my bottom lip, his fingers returning to my hair which felt nice.
"I hope that kiss wasn't too much, your lips just looked appealing." He said as I just smiled.
"Never."
"Does that mean I may be able to get a kiss later?"
"Anytime considering I am your girlfriend." I said as he smiled and he leant forward giving me another kiss.
"Now the food, don't want to fill up on your kisses…you want to come keep me company?" He asked as I smiled and nodded as I got up with him walking down to the kitchen sliding into the little booth table he had as I watched him cook whatever it was he was cooking in the small kitchen that was aboard the boat. "Are you allergic to anything?" He asked as he began to pull some gloves on.
"No, what are you cooking?"
"Do you mind getting a little messy?"
"No, now I'm officially afraid."
"Don't be, trust me you'll like it." He said as I nodded as I was just trusting him in this as I watched him cut some onions and some green peppers up before he put some ground beef into a pan.
"You didn't have to cook a fancy meal for me."
"It's not going to be all that fancy because they are going to be made into sandwiches." He said as I began to question what it was he was cooking. The beef broth and the steak sauce made me question him more as to what it was he had in mind.
"Do you cook big meals or stuff like this for yourself?" I asked curiously.
"Eh, sometimes if I felt like it and had time…sometimes I don't like making big meals especially since it is just me and I will have a lot of left overs and I know I will have left over food from this but it's something for us to eat for dinner or tomorrow." He said with a shrug.
"Where'd you learn this recipe?"
"My mother." He said as I smiled.
"You close to your parents?"
"You can say that."
"Where do they live? Around here or in Florida?"
"Neither." He said as he glanced over with a smile as I looked at him questionably.
"Any siblings?"
"One, and it's a brother…"
"Poor parents, having two boys."
"What about you?"
"I have one of each, I was the middle child but the rebel…"
"What was the worst thing you did to your parents?" He asked as he leant against the tiny counter as I presumed he was waiting for the meat to brown.
"I kind of ran away for a month or two while I was in high school and because of it I almost didn't graduate…" I stated as I bit at my bottom lip.
"Why in the world did you do that?"
"Because of my ex, I thought I was in love and my parents hated him, thought he was wrong and bad for me in all the right reasons but I didn't see it that way so I ran away."
"Were you at his house?"
"No but yes. I would come over for dinner some nights but when his parents went to sleep was when he would sneak me in through the window and he would go down for what he told his parents as a midnight snack as he was doing his homework they presumed but he was really heating up some food for me and I would leave before they would come check on him in the morning." I said.
"How long ago did you two break up? I am assuming he was your only ex and high school sweethearts."
"We broke up about a year plus ago, but sometimes it seems less due to other circumstances and it is still very fresh in my mind."
"I kind of figured from what happened at the mall, what exactly happened to cause that reaction or you two to really break up?"
"That is a story for a different time and date."
"Same with my other career." He said as I nodded as I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Whatever it is you are cooking smells really good." I said.
"Thanks, you know how to cook anything?"
"A few things, do you want me to cook you something tonight or something?"
"Yeah, I'll even take you to the store to pick up whatever it is you will need."
"You're on, so you allergic to anything?"
"Nope…besides bull shit."
"Of course, we are all allergic to that." I said as he and I both chuckled. "You need help with anything?" I asked curiously as he shook his head as he reached into a different cupboard grabbing those Hawaiian roll type buns. "I've never had the buns of those."
"Do you like their rolls?"
"Yes."
"It's just like their rolls but like in gigantic form."
"Rolls on steroids?"
"Yep. Way better analogy than what I had." He said as I smiled as he pulled down two paper plates and putting a bun on each one before he added the last of the ingredients I saw him portion and pull out only to stir that for a few minutes.
"I can get used to a man that can cook."
"But you shouldn't…so what do you think of a man that isn't home every night?"
"Well I understand, you work in Florida so it will be ridiculous for you to come home every night if you are working a couple nights there." I said truthfully, "Would you expect your girl to go with you?"
"On occasion because with that job I would need to bring a plus one."
"Really?" I asked quite curious as to what these things were for his job that he needed a plus one for.
"Yeah, but it's nothing anytime soon so relax."
"I just hope I can live up to the standards of your job."
"Trust me, you are beyond the standards because there are some girls…" He said as he shook his head as I couldn't help but to chuckle because that is all he had to do.
"Note took." I said with a chuckle as he turned off the stove and began to scoop some of the contents from the pan onto the buns before he walked over with the two plates.
"I don't have much to drink besides water, and I think I may have milk."
"Water is fine…" I said as he grabbed us some new water bottles before he officially sat down across from where I sat. "This looks delicious." I said as I looked at the plate in front of me, "What do you call this?"
"It's a philly cheesesteak sloppy joe." He answered.
"Hmm…interesting." I said as I put the top bun on top of the sandwich before I picked it up to try to take a bite of it with some of the contents falling out of the sandwich. "Well…I hope I still have some on my sandwich and sorry if I become a really disgusting eater."
"No worries, I'm going to be just as messy and disgusting…"
"Why even make this if you knew that was going to happen?" I asked with a chuckle.
"To make sure you aren't some prude that won't eat this type of food…" He said as he took a bite as I smiled and took a bite myself. It was actually quite good, I covered my mouth as I slowly chewed and swallowed it.
"Prude? For not eating this? You had previous relationships that won't eat this?"
"Well, not this per say but were afraid to get a little messy with their food. There was one that won't eat anything with her hands, she HAD to have silverware, even for pizza and sandwiches she ate with forks."
"Yeah, no…I don't mind using my hands especially for pizza and sandwiches, how would she eat ribs?"
"You eat ribs? Girl, I like you even more." He said with a smile as he took another bite and I smiled as I did the same, "Speaking of ribs, well…it's a bar-be-que food, does Kevin still do that annual BBQ thing?" He asked as I nodded.
"Yeah, it's next week I believe. You coming?" I asked as I crossed my legs.
"Am I invited?"
"I'm officially inviting you as my plus one…this is the only time I will be able to do a whole plus one thing…" I said with a shrug as he smiled.
"Consider me your plus one." He said with a smile as we continued eating our meal.
