I bit my lower lip as I watched Paul talking to Brady from afar. So far I hadn't seen Embry or Nicole and I was glad that Paul hadn't seen me yet. I hid my face behind my history book when he looked my way. That was close. I ignored the tension in the cafeteria. I pretended to read when someone grabbed my book.

"Hey, what are you doing cupcake?" Paul was amused when he saw me.

"Nothing." I grabbed my book back and put it into my bag.

"You know if you wanted to talk to me so badly you could have just said so."

"I don't wanna talk."

"Listen, I know you don't wanna hear it but just so you know, Nicole and Embry are together for a while now and she's just very possessive and dominating but she shouldn't have said that to you."

"Paul, let it go, okay. Everything's fine now."

"If you say so but don't say I didn't warn you about Nicole. She thinks she loves Embry but she's just into his looks." I didn't answer him as I didn't know Nicole that well and as for Embry, well, I didn't know him either. He was just a boy who I ran into. Sure, I had this warm fuzzy feeling in my chest whenever he was around but I know for sure that he didn't feel anything. He was rude, arrogant, and had a girlfriend. I sighed when turning away from Paul. But Embry's deep voice made me shiver with anticipation an amazing feeling came up when we looked into each other's eyes.

"Don't look now cupcake they're coming this way." Paul's voice from right beside me startled me. I had no idea who he meant but then I saw them. Their hands were intertwined and a cute smile was plastered all over her face. Nicole had her boyfriend wrapped around her little finger.

"Don't hate me for this." Paul grabbed my warm hand and intertwined our fingers. The hot sensation made me gasp for a second. He was hot. Like really hot.

"Paul, what are you doing?"

"Relax, cupcake. I just want to prove something." He leaned forward to kiss me on the cheek just as Embry and Nicole stood in front of the table.

"What the hell is she doing here? That's our table."

"Nicole, always a pleasure seeing you." Nicole was fuming, I could see it in her beautiful eyes.

"I should have known that this was your idea, Paul. I don't want her here."

"Too bad she will stay. Why don't you and lover boy leave and find another place to eat?"

"Embry, come on, I want to leave. Maybe we should skip math and find a nice place where we can be alone." She send me an enormous smirk while Embry didn't look at me. He didn't say a word since he knew I was there. I had enough of this. What was Nicole's problem? Just as I was about to leave, Paul grabbed my arm and then he pressed his lips to the corner of my mouth. It wasn't a real kiss but for anyone else, it sure looked like it.

"Embry, just let us leave. They are perfectly fine without us."

"Not now, Nicole." Embry pushed Nicole softly away from him. His eyes were closed when he approached Paul.

"Don't touch her." Paul stood up from the chair. Everyone was looking at us by now. when Embry's eyes opened all hell broke loose.

"What are you going to do about it, Call?" Embry punched Paul square in the face. Some of the girls screamed while the guys were cheering. I jumped out of my seat in a second and ran over to Brady who was watching the scene with an amused smile on his lips.

"Do something." Brady shrugged his broad shoulders.

"They fight all the time. Nothing new here." I didn't know what to do. He was my only hope. He knew them and could talk some sense into them. Nicole screamed bloody murder as Paul and Embry rolled on the dirty floor. I turned to Brady once again and pleaded with my eyes. Brady stared at me for a long moment before finally nodding his head. He strode towards them.

"Guys, the fight is over. Get a grip." They didn't end the fight. I already had tears in my eyes when Paul hit Embry with all his might in the stomach. I couldn't breathe. My lungs were aching for air. It felt as if Paul had beat me. I could no longer stand on my own two feet. I almost fell to the floor but Brady caught me in his strong arms.

"Guys, let it go. It's Rileigh." I heard Brady's concerned voice over me as I sank down.

"What have you dump-asses done?" He held me in his arms, whispering that everything was going to be okay before I passed out from shock.
