It's Dressrosa with picnics and Law getting closure.

Robin gets a grandfather (that's not canon). Luffy tries a dry wine. Luffy will put a hurting on Doffy.

Koby is back! (Canon has left the building).

There is violence. People will die; that's your warning.

Chapter Seven

"I swear, Zoro, I will put you on a leash if you wander off one more time!" Perona hissed gritted teeth as she grabbed the one-eyed swordsman by the arm and led him back towards the shop they had left Luffy with Franky, Kin'emon, and Usopp.

Zoro grumbled about overbearing women. Still, he dutifully followed her towards the center of town, where Robin was to bring Torao before they headed to the palace.

Dressrosa was still as creepy and fucked up as he remembered. Doflamingo was a sick bastard for what he had done to the people of this place. The levity and music couldn't gloss over the tension and fear that seemed to run through the people who laughed and smiled at each other.

Torao was back on the ship because he couldn't play fair with others, mainly Luffy, who was chomping to help the Whitebeards recover their father's Devil Fruit. Law had proposed an alliance like he did in their future/past at Punk Hazard, and then Luffy proceeded to blow the other captain's mind as the boy Yonko brought down both Caesar and stomped Vergo into the mud. Smoker and his clan had been there, and they all learned the truth of the Vice Admiral's betrayal, unlike last time when the G-5 were allowed to think of their former Vice Admiral as a hero.

Smoker's navy girl was still blind and ignorant about the world, the world governing body, and her supposed leaders. Zoro didn't interfere when Perona took the self-righteous little shrew down a peg or ten as she reminded the Marines that they openly supported slavery and everything happening here on Punk Hazard.

Perona was brutal with her honesty and just as deadly with the cane sword she carried in her ever-present pink parasol. It was cute, and Brook was happy to train her while Jinbei and Franky worked with Robin and Nami, much to the Ero-Cook's dismay.

Smoker's navy girl was lucky she walked away without losing a few fingers and not her entire hand. Smoker did lose his arm when he tried to attack Perona to avenge his subordinate.

Everything else was the same as it had been in their future/past, the Marines took the kids from the jungles of Punk Hazard, and the pirates sailed away with their allies and their prisoner for Dressrosa.

When Torao told them his plan to exchange Caesar while the Straw Hats destroyed Doflamingo's S.M.I.L.E. factory, his plan was okay; it still had the same holes that ended with Torao being shot and kidnapped by the lunatic Doflamingo the first time.

Zoro took a perverse pleasure in watching the Surgeon of Death find himself on the backfoot when Luffy, who had finished his breakfast, sat back in his chair with a satisfied groan and said, "Yeah, we are not doing."

Torao looked as if he was going to attack Zoro's captain, but the other man remembered where he was and whom he was facing. Luffy was still a Yonko, and he was considered one of the most powerful captains currently on the seas for a reason, despite his childish disposition, so Torao kept his ass in his seat, and Zoro moved his hand away from Sandai Kitetsu's hilt.

"What do you propose, Strawhat-ya?" Law growled.

Luffy giggled delightedly, "You are gonna love it, Torao. Usopp, tell him the plan."

Torao was still having a hard time accepting that the Straw Hats were allying with Caesar, who was rather afraid of Robin and Perona. He was given back his heart, and he was after a long chat that ended with him agreeing to work with them to take down Doflamingo and then Kaidou.

The plan was rather simple. Luffy was going to kick Doflamingo's ass. The crew was going to take out the factory and the members of Doflamingo's crew.

But first, Luffy had a competition to win.

Koby watched in fascination as Sabo wolfed down another platter of squid ink pasta and squid. After two years of traveling and training with the Revolutionary, Koby still couldn't stop staring at this display before him.

It was worse when Ace was with them.

Supposedly, Sabo was in Dressrosa liaison with his team observers and demolition team, who were sent to take down Doflamingo's weapons manufacturing operation. Sabo was there to help the Straw Hats take down this bastard and restore King Riku Doldo III to his throne.

Koby was the Straw Hats vanguard.

Koby had scouted the country, and he found the S.M.I.L.E. factory. He contacted the fairies, who were more willing to help the pirates who would rescue their Princess and kill Sugar. All parties involved were vested in killing Sugar. She was a demon in the flesh, and her Devil Fruit needed to drop into the sea just like Blackbeard.

When Sabo reached for another bowl, Koby directed his gaze elsewhere. Elsewhere meant seeing all the pirates milling around, waiting for the line at the coliseum to open so they could register for the battle royale.

Doflamingo had gotten his hands on Whitebeard's Devil Fruit and invited the world to fight in the coliseum for it. It was an open taunt meant to draw out Marco the Phoenix or maybe even Ace, but Marco knew Luffy was coming to Dressrosa to stomp a hole in Doflamingo's ass; therefore, he asked Luffy if he could save the Whitebeard's last bit of their father. Luffy promised, and if what Sabo said was true, by the end of the day, every pirate crew and the affiliated nations would band together under the Straw Hats' flag to form the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

"Luffy should have arrived by now," Sabo said quietly from behind his napkin as he cleaned the scattered remains of his meal from his face. "We should head out." He signaled their server for the check.

"We should head off to the Colosseum then?" Koby said. He lowered the adjusted his pageboy cap over his hidden pink hair.

"Let's go, Pinky. It's finally time to return you to your captain." Sabo put down enough to cover their lunch, and then they headed toward the Colosseum to meet up with Luffy.

Robin landed the Flying Sunny on Flower Hill smoothly. She ignored the sulking Torao as she pulled the reflective cover over the plane that the assault team would use to fly to Zou and meet up with Sanji and Jinbei's team.

She grabbed the pack filled with Luffy's Pirate lunch boxes and the medical kit Chopper prepared for the crew. She pushed her sunglasses up into her hair and then started down the hill and toward the center of town, where they were to meet up with Zoro and Perona.

Since they were early, they decided to have lunch and then head to the Colosseum to watch Luffy fighting before taking down the Doflamingo family.

After they found the One Piece, Robin hoped to return to Dressrosa and spend more than a day in the beautiful, rustic kingdom. It would be nice to visit when they weren't planning to overthrow a tyrant.

"Well, come along, Torao," Robin called over her shoulder to the other pirate. "You may not believe it, but we are on a tight schedule."

"We are going to watch your Captain fight in Doflamingo's stupid competition," Torao growled, but he still followed Robin down the side of Flower Hill. "I don't see the need to rush, Nico-ya."

"We are going to have lunch at a lovely restaurant my captain's brother recommended before watching my captain have his fun before the battle." She said with a pleasant smile.

A short while later, Robin was seated beside Perona in the stands of Corrida Colosseum, waiting for the first match to start. She had sent a clone in to see Luffy in the catacombs, and she praised her captain appropriately for his first outfit choice. The clone took a picture before Luffy reluctantly changed his outfit for the one he had famously worn in their future/past. Before her clone left Luffy, she gave Luffy a lunch box, and then she went to find Sabo.

Koby had already infiltrated the underground port and should have left the bombs in the Executive Tower. Their attack would kick off in the final match after Sabo nicked the Gura-Gura no mi. There were Marines throughout the Kingdom, but Doflamingo hosted an Admiral. Fujitora, the gravity-manipulating Admiral, was currently in the stands, completely ignorant of the Straw Hats, Law, and the Revolutionary Army's presence within the country.

There was very little that the world government was willing to do at that moment. Or even if they cared for anything other than the status quo.

While Luffy enjoyed his snack, he told Robin that Sabo had found him earlier to check in and to wish him luck. So Robin went to find Sabo in the lower corridors, where he decided to watch the fights.

"Robin," Sabo greeted her warmly, "Have you come to watch the battle royale with me?"

"Hello, Sabo," Robin's clone greeted with a pleasant smile, "I am afraid not. I just wanted to wish both of you and Luffy good luck." She handed him the bag with Luffy's lunches. "Sanji packed a lunch for you as well."

Sabo smiled brightly as he eagerly reached into the pack and found the box with his name on it. "Obrigado, irmã,"

Much to Robin's amused delight, she had been adopted by the Monkey D. family. It started with Garp-san insisting that she call him 'Jichan.' He reasoned that Saul was her friend and trying to save her. It made no sense, but Robin found it easy to indulge the odd older man, especially when he spoke so highly and affectionately of one of her dearest ones. She became Garp's eldest and only granddaughter and her captain's sister.

There was a small sake ceremony that the brothers insisted that she do with them. It was done privately when everyone met to celebrate Sabo's twenty-first birthday.

Since then, the brothers have taken it upon themselves to teach her their native language and protect her from their grandfather's crazy training.

Robin found it adorable. Her little brothers were so sweet and kind to her that it made her very protective of them and their happiness.

She bid Sabo a fond goodbye before she released her clone. In the stands, Robin relayed her findings to her crew. Robin could see that Torao was finally beginning to understand his allied crew. Yes, they indulged their boy captain in all his whims, but Luffy allowed them to do what they did best, which ensured Luffy could do what he did best. And that was winning the hearts and minds of everyone he met.

Luffy, as Lucy, ended his match with Don Chinjao, a battle between two powerful Haki users in legendary fashion.

Robin made sure to take plenty of pictures for Luffy's photo album. She had promised the crew plenty of photos and a few gifts for Chopper.

While everyone was distracted by Luffy's wild victory, Robin and Zoro left the stands and went to the catacombs, where they met up with their captain, Sabo and Bartolomeo.

Bartolomeo was still as starstruck by their captain as he was last time, and he nearly died from joy when he met not just Luffy but Robin, Zoro, and Sabo. He was happy to participate in the brother's deception, and he promised to look after the young Princess Rebecca after being asked by Luffy.

Outside Robin met Koby. Usopp had gone to Green Bit to meet the Tontatta Tribe and offer the Straw Hat's aid to their cause. So Koby wasn't alone, waiting with him two members of the Tontatta Tribe; One would escort him and Robin to the underground port where the Executive Tower was hidden, and the other was to take Luffy and Zoro to the palace.

This time Robin avoided being turned into a toy. Poor Usopp decided earlier that he would allow Trebol to capture him, which allowed Usopp to get close to Sugar.

Trebol and Sugar died in Executive Tower, and Usopp earned his moniker "God."

Diamante fell under the crushing pressure of Sabo's dragon claw as soon as they landed beneath the ruins of the Colosseum. He came to find Robin soon after, and then they all left the underground port and rushed to join the battle to Dressrosa.

Luffy didn't think he would have fun repeating an adventure. But he was having the time of his life-fighting in the ring and not having to hold back.

In the Colosseum, Luffy found Rebecca, then Cabbage found him. Luffy watched Crest Head fight with other commanders of the Straw Fleet, and then Luffy had fun in his fight. Old man Chinjao was great fun, and their battle was better than the last time because he knew his crew and family were watching him. In the end, Luffy fixed Chinjao's head and won again. But like last time, Luffy couldn't stay for his final match, so Sabo was there to pick up for Luffy to get the fruit while Luffy went off to beat Mingo's ass.

Perona brought Torao and Kin'emon (in disguise) to the palace ramparts, so they were waiting for Luffy and Zoro when the pair arrived. Also waiting with them was Rebecca's aunt, Viola.

Luffy told Viola how nice Rebecca was to have bought him two bentos after his match and that he was impressed by her fighting skills. Luffy was enjoying the picnic supper Perona had picked up on her way to the palace. There was cold chicken, roasted beef, and ham with local cheese, bread, pickled peppers, and olives to munch on while they waited for things to kick off. Luffy even tried the bread salad Perona thought was a bit spicy. Zoro seemed to like the wine he was drinking. He gave Luffy a small sample, which was too bitter, so Viola mixed it with some of the fruit juice in the basket, and it tasted much better.

Torao was still worried but relaxed enough to enjoy his lunch and talk with them. He understood that they were waiting for things to get wild, but he didn't know the signal until the screaming began.

Robin called to report soon after, and Luffy assured Rebecca that he would defeat Doflamingo for her. He wanted her to stay with his friends, and everything would be all right. He promised.

Perona wished them luck as they started for the palace. Luffy rushed in, giggling madly when she promised him a surprise awaited him inside the castle.

Much to Luffy's delight, Perona had set her Negative Hollows loose over the palace plateau, which added to the chaos. Not even Doflamingo was immune to her ghosts; Luffy discovered Mingo down on the ground, saying he was lower than dirt in his study with Rebecca's grandpa when they finally reached them.

Rebecca's dad showed up soon, and they got tossed out of the palace again. Mingo created his stupid cage and then announced his stupid game.

Luffy called Robin to laugh about Usopp's high bounty as he waited for the high voice rock guy to appear. He did, and of course, the rock guy's super high voice sent Luffy into hysterics again. But unlike last time, Luffy didn't allow him to punch anything.

"Zoro!" Luffy called out.

"Aye, Captain," Luffy's swordsman replied with a vicious grin, "I have him."

The people running and the screaming stopped when they saw Zoro cut the mountain in half. And then, with another blow, Zoro reduced the mountain into rubble.

The rock guy ran from Zoro.

Moocy appeared! And that's great. Then, of course, Cabbage just had to show up, and the rest of the weirdos. Luffy and Zoro hopped on Moocy's back to chase down the rock guy.

Zoro left to go finish off the rock guy. Luffy and Law went to take down Mingo.

Dangerous

Zoro defeated Pica easily. He managed to recruit the same guys who helped him do it again, but the results were better this time.

Pica was killed, and the King was saved. It took everything within him not to slit Kanjuro's throat when he saw him, but Zoro knew that traitor would get his comeuppance very soon. Zoro went into the city to help save people while Luffy and Law fought Doflamingo.

Franky found him, and he looked like hell. Señor Pink had been defeated. Franky happily relayed the details of his fight with Pink while they worked on saving as many people as possible, and Zoro thought he would also like to have a drink with the old man one day.

All around them, the Dressrosans were calling for the fall of Doflamingo and the restoration of the Riku line. Zoro wasn't as invested in Dressrosa, not like Alabasta, but in a way, it was the same. A good man was being called on to lead, and Luffy would destroy their nightmare.

Luffy didn't disappoint.

Luffy brought Doflamingo down from his throne and beat him in the streets and the skies of Dressrosa.

Everyone knew that Luffy had killed three Tenryubito with a single punch. He had fought and defeated two warlords and CP9.

When Doflamingo's body hit the ground the last time, the birdcage was nearly gone. Doflamingo's face was swollen beyond recognition. Luffy landed beside the body, looking slightly roughed up but not suffering any serious damage.

The Colosseum announcer, who had been providing a play-by-play of the battle since Luffy kicked Doflamingo off the palace grounds, proclaimed Luffy the victor.

This time Luffy meant to kill a Tenryubito, and when he did, Torao spat on Mingo's corpse and then ripped Mingo's heart out of his chest and stabbed it repeatedly. Luffy walked away to give Torao privacy because the other man was crying.

Bellamy was nearby, defeated but free. Luffy sat down and waited for Torao to finish. But suddenly found his arms filled with a crying Rebecca.

"Lucy, thank you. Thank you, thank you so much." She sobbed into his chest. "Lucy…"

The Straw Hats and their ally only stayed the night. Luffy ensured the Solider stayed with Rebecca, and the old King accepted the Straw Hats flag.

Luffy accepted the sake cup from his fleet commanders. It was a moment of great solemnity and humility for him. Standing beside his little brother, Sabo made Luffy accept this honor, but he understood when Luffy told his fleet they were still free. Freedom was still the most important in the world to him.

Luckily, the country wasn't trashed as badly as it had been the last time they were here. Sabo assured Luffy that he would be in Wano to participate in the Raid before he left them. He left a small group to function as the liaison between the Royal Family and the Revolutionary Army before he left. Luffy overheard Robin asking Koala what Sabo had in such a rush and why he left a liaison on the island, but Koala didn't have an answer for the first part, but the second was rather simple. Garp had insisted on the overture.

Before the sun fully rose over the island, the Straw Hats had left Dressrosa. Franky was turned on the jet engines of the Flying Sunny, and now they were speeding across the sky, headed directly towards the Nika.

Luffy would have liked to have stayed longer in Dressrosa, but Wano was calling, and he would kick Kaidou's ass.
