Smoke.
Smoke filled his lungs
Smoke stung his eyes
Smoke surrounded him
Hid him, choked him, smothered the life out of him.
Slowly
Surly
Completely
And all he could do was lay there.
Letting the warm flames lick him, bite him, consume the flesh shell that holds him.
But in amongst the haze, confusion, exhaustion and last but not least the pain and sorrow,
Lay hope
Hope that this is all a dream,
Hope that this will end,
Hope that his blue-eyed, blond-hair angel will rescue him
Hope he will survive.
