NerdAlert101- I was glad that I came up with the name myself. I understand how you feel about the reboots and Cartoon Network as a whole. The only thing is I hate how Go treats the characters. I would have been fine if it was just a bunch of shorts that they used in place of commercials every now and again. Glad you get to experience the original season in all its glory.
Glad I could deliver on your view of the Titans. I was especially proud of how I designed Starfire's new outfit. I happen to really like the ships displayed and I figured it would be best to stay to form on it. I'm also glad that I could give you a good story to read in spite of it being a chat fic. GhostWatcher: "…When I was 14, my parents built the machine that caused Amity Park to become haunted in the first place. They called it the Fenton Ghost Portal, able to open a wormhole to the world where spirits and ghosts live. They tried to turn it on, but it wouldn't power on for anything. They gave up and walked back to the kitchen, but I wanted to figure out what went wrong. Sam and Tucker, if you haven't guessed they're Tuck and GQueen, where there at the time and Sam encouraged me to check inside."
LadyTigress16: "Danny, I don't like where this is going. Please tell me you didn't…"
GhostWatcher: "Sorry to say Jules but I did. I put on a spare hazmat suit my size and walked inside the ghost portal. I rubbed my hand along the wall in order to brace myself in case I tripped. That's when I felt something click."
LadyTigress16: "They didn't…"
GhostWatcher: "My Dad was so excited about finishing the portal that he accidentally installed the on switch inside it. I found out too late as the portal turned on, zapping me with electricity and the ectoplasm of the portal. That day I should have died, but only went half way there. I looked like a ghost down to my eye color, but I turned back by the time my parents ran down to see what happened. That day, I became Phantom."
LadyTigress16: "So you're telling me that your parents' invention killed you. This whole time you've been a living corpse?"
GhostWatcher: "A morbid way to think about it but, again, you're only half right. Another being like me coined the term halfa for what we are, but you could see us as metahumans. Half dead and half alive. We have all the powers of a ghost and the ability to take on a ghost form. At first I tried to go back to a normal life, but I decided to use these powers to help people after the ghost fight that became my debut as Phantom."
LadyTigress16: "And your parents? The anti-ghost maniacs. What did they think of all this?"
GhostWatcher: "They have no idea what happened. That first day they were more excited that the portal was working than they were worried about my health. Every day that I tried to tell them I would hear Dad say how he'd love nothing more than to 'tear that ghost boy apart, molecule by molecule.' I don't keep my identity secret to protect my parents. I keep it because I'm scared of what they'd do if they ever find out that I was the ghost child they've been hunting for years now."
LadyTigress16: "Oh Danny. I didn't know that things were that bad. If I knew how serious they were I wouldn't have asked you while you're at home."
GhostWatcher: "Actually part of my absence was me flying somewhere so they wouldn't hear me. I may be foolish at times but I know how to keep my identity secret. So, now you know my biggest secret. It… honestly feels good to get it off my chest. Now I won't force you into anything so if you just want to hop off and never speak again I…"
LadyTigress16: "Danny, would you stop that? Leaving is the last thing that's on my mind right now. I'm just worried that you're putting yourself in danger by telling a complete stranger like me about this."
GhostWatcher: "You're not a total stranger Juleka. We've talked together, stepped out of our comfort zones together… You've even shown genuine concern when something was bothering me. You're one of my closest friends and I'm happy to have you in my life."
LadyTigress16: "Danny… I…" sniffle.
GhostWatcher: "Oh crap! Did I make you cry somehow!? Did I do something wrong!?"
LadyTigress16: "No just… just give me a minute…" sigh. "Sorry. It's just… I'm not used to people holding me in that high of a regard. I'm happy to have you too Danny."
GhostWatcher: "That actually means a lot to me. I promise I'll tell the rest of the guild when I feel ready to. I know you hate secrets but… could we keep this between us until then?"
LadyTigress16: "As long as you promise to actually come to us when something bothers you, I think I can handle keeping your secret. The last thing I want is for you to be hurt because word got out. When you're ready to tell them, I'll be there by your side. Just realize that I probably won't get along with your parents if we ever meet."
GhostWatcher: "Trust me, I can understand that completely. Hey, do you think we can stay on call for a bit? I don't wanna head home yet because my parents are working on new security measures late into the night. I'd also like it if we… maybe found time to just talk to each other over DMs. I'm kind of tired of…"
LadyTigress16: "Sam hopping on and accusing us of flirting?" Shared laughter. "I have time for it. I'm actually hoping we could work on trading version exclusives between Scarlet and Violet. You game?"
GhostWatcher: "I'd like that. I'd like that very much Jules. Oh! That reminds me! I actually caught a shiny Ghastly recently."
LadyTigress16: "No way! Now you have to show me! Hurry up and hop on! Oh, and we'll probably want to let the guild know we're hopping off. That way they don't start worrying about us."
GhostWatcher: "Good plan. I'm lucky I have hotspot set up for my Switch. Just give me a second and... Done! Now, let's be the very best like no one ever was."
Inkaliber: And there's the chapter! I was planning on having Juleka find out about Danny later in the story, but the story flowed more naturally this way. I tried to write this interaction as best as I could to make up for the sudden event. Their friendship has grown even more and they're now communicating in private with each other. Sam really isn't going to like this.
Sabrina: If you ask me I think Juleka and Danny make an adorable couple. I know Sam isn't like this normally but this version of her is a jerk. If ya want a relationship with a normally oblivious guy then you gotta ask them directly.
Meowth: You tell'em sister!
Inkaliber: Is Meowth actually letting you hold him? And letting you pet him?
Meowth: Don't judge me chief. This redhead's meeting all my standards. I like dis.
Inkaliber: Well I'm glad you two are getting along. I got a chapter to end so why don't you guys find a board game to play?
