"Hey, Rita! Hey !" Scarlet has just walked into the MEGTAF lab.

"Well good morning sunshine! Heard you had an eventful day yesterday," commented.

Scratching her head the young Kaiju could only agree. Rita rolled over to her in her wheeled chair, "What're you doing here so early?"

"Well, I actually had a few questions."

"Like what?" Rita asked.

"Like this," Scarlet showed her the shiny gem that hung around her neck.

The lab assistants eyes lit up, "Can I touch it?"

"You're the first one to ask so yes."

She twisted and turned it about as she eyeballed the rock. It seemed to fascinate her quite a bit as she had a small smile on her face. Riat touched it, tapped it, and even banged it just slightly on the metal piece of her chair, "Well that's definitely a diamond, but it feels like it's engraved."

"That's because it is," Scarlet blew a small bit of flames on the spot and showed her the bizarre writing.

Rita then took the rock and sat it under a very odd-looking machine. She goes over to the computer section of this machine explaining, "It's just a big, expensive camera. If you could just give that thing a few more flames I can get a clear picture for you."

Scarlet blew on it again and a small clicking noise was heard. It wasn't even a second later that Rita pulled up a clear image of these glowing symbols on the screen. Scarlet, Rita, and all turned their heads over it as this was something none of them recognized.

"Well, this is quite the discovery." says, "I've never seen anything like this at all, but it does somewhat look like hieroglyphics."

"Hm," goes Scarlet, "can I get that printed out?"

Eagerly Rita says, "I'm on it!"

"I had another question . I had this weird feeling in the back of my head the other day. It was like a tickle, but intense."

"Oh, I've seen that before with your brother. Think of it as your Kaiju sixth sense. I found with your brother that it's basically just a response to a new Kaiju's scent."

"Good to know," she said, but inside she thought, 'I didn't get that feeling around Jun…'

She bid the two scientists a farewell as she headed to her next stop Sam's Snack Shack. There she met with Garnet and Finn for some much needed snowcones. The three sat down at a picnic table when Finn started the conversation, "Why weren't you at school today?"

"Because," she scratched the back of her head, "I didn't wanna see Piper...and don't tell Duncan either!"

"Why not she seems nice?" The boy asked his comment receiving a noticeable side-eye from Garnet.

"Because she's...she's my cousin…"

Finn started to choke a little at those words, "You're kidding?!"

"Well..."

"Oh boy, you better tell us what happened to you after school the other day," Garnet demanded.

Scarlet then gave them a quick run down of the other day and the only response was Finn's, "Woah."

Garnet then asked, "Wait, so there's a whole island full of Kaiju?"

"No, no, no," Scarlet shook her head, "Monster Island is more like an intersecting point between all of them. The book I have told me that Kaiju are only found in America, Eritrea, Korea, and Norway."

"So then why is your dad king?" Finn asked.

"The way Duncan explained it is that they're each royalty among their specific group, but they all make decisions together when it comes to the Kaiju community as a whole. Belloc is considered king among humans because he shows himself to them and king of the Kaiju if you're talking about overall success over the years."

Garnet points at her friends jewelry, "And everyone wants that rock?"

"Yeah, and unfortunately I need to talk to him and see if he can answer some of my questions, but…" her voice went off into the wind, "I wish things were easier with him."

Her two friends noticed her downtrodden look and gave each other a knowing glare. Garnet then changed the subject, "I've been thinking about trying out for the spirit squad."

This time Scarlet choked, "What Garnet why?"

"Well," she shrugged, "maybe if I made some social leaps I wouldn't get bullied so much."

"Why would you want to be liked by a bunch of jerks though?" Asked Finn.

"I don't, but wouldn't you like to not be tortured every other day of the year? Besides it's not like I'm becoming a cheerleader."

"That's what it leads up to, " Finn sounded annoyed.

"Look," Scarlet began, "if that's really what you wanna do then go for it. I...we just don't want you getting caught up in that craziness. It just doesn't seem like you."

"Maybe change is in the air."

"There!" The young Kaiju said surrounded by her taken down enemies; twelve of them in total. She turned around to look the king in the eyes, "Double digits! Now, can we talk?"

Reluctantly the king agreed and they headed back to, one of, his hoards. He laid down on a rather massive pile of gold coins as Scarlet thought to her, 'Does he even know how much money he just sits on?'

Realizing how uncomfortable the solid gold would be she took her seat on the ground instead. She looked at him and he looked down on her with that unamused looked as always. He then took a large breath before asking her first question, "Who were those other Kaiju?"

"They're the other rulers of the other Kaiju groups. The one who called himself your uncle, Jun, is the ruler of the Water Kaiju and his daughter Mi-suk. Then there's Afa ruler of the Earth Kaiju and her son Aho'eitu. Finally, there's Aither of the Sky Kaiju. My turn," he swiftly said, "why did they want you?"

"Jun said you've been acting differently." She tried not to hesitate, "He said you were around when Duncan was younger. Like before he was sixteen."

"Scarlet before your brother was even alive there was an ongoing battle with the humans. How could I possibly afford to be there steadily before that age? Jun knows that."

"Ok then next question," she said a little frustrated with that answer. "What's the writing on the stone?"

"They're what the humans call Kaijuglyphs. Ancient Kaiju text that has yet to be figured out by humans and modern Kaiju alike."

Scarlet looked in his round, golden eyes that seemed to have no end. The princess just took a deep breath and replied, "Ok father."

A chuckle escaped from his scaly lips, "You don't believe me, daughter?"

"No, I don't," she looked down to hide her guilty smirk, "but I can't prove you're wrong yet."

She felt a touch underneath her chin as Belloc lifted her gaze to his. Their eyes locking his endless gaze seemed to soften just a little as he said, "Stay that way."

"Hey!"

Scarlet had closed her locker to find exactly who she didn't want to see, "Oh hi….Piper?"

"You can call me Mi-suk if you want. Piper's my unofficial middle name."

"Oh," Scarlet was visibly nervous, "was there something you needed?"

"Actually yeah, can we talk?"

With a bit of hesitancy, Scarlet shook her head yes and lead them to the empty gym where they sat behind the bleachers. Sensing the tension the other Kaiju goes, "You can relax. I just wanted to apologize for the whole kidnapping your brother thing."

"Oh," Scarlet was a little shocked, "apology accepted. Why is the necklace so special?"

"We think it can fill in a lot of blanks for everyone. You remember when my dad told you that Uncle Belloc was there before Duncan was sixteen?"

"Yeah, but that doesn't make any sense."

"Does Duncan remember it like this?"

"No, neither of them do."

"Everyone else remembers it like that."

'Everyone else? That doesn't make any sense. I have to know what she's talking about.' Scarlet looked at Mi-suk and asked, "Can you take me to Monster Island?"

The young water Kaiju's face went from shock to happiness, "Yeah I can!"

She grabbed her hand with joy, but Scarlet remained seated trying to slow Mi-suk down saying, "After school! After school!"

"Oh...right sorry."

The pair of teens were making their way through the underwater tunnels. They hadn't spoken since they'd gotten there. Scarlet couldn't help but think, 'Should I say something to her? What would I even say? For all I know she's planning an ambush when i get there. Maybe I should just try to her.'

"So…" she sounded so hesitant, "I'm guessing you're not actually fifteen?"

"Well technically no. I'm 17,449 in human years."

"That means you've lived through a lot."

"Well, I guess compared to humans yeah. Ahbuhji said they use to live a lot longer though."

"Ahbuhji?"

"Oh, I'm sorry that's father in Korean."

"What's mother?" She innocently asked.

"Um…" she went silent for a moment, "I'm sorry I don't use that word much. It's eomeoni."

Scarlet could feel the atmosphere had changed after that and figured it'd be best to not ask anymore questions. They continued on their way through the cave until they made it to the same opening as last time. Coming up to the surface the island was still as magnificent as it was before. The sand was white and the trees shook in the cooling breeze. Mi-suk looked back at her with a small smile and said, "You get use to it, unfortunately. Come on let's find Aho'eitu."

They went through the thick jungle full of fruit-bearing trees, small deer, and primates. It was a lot different from her California town with dust and concrete. Then she scraped her foot on something and to Scarlets surprise she heard a small whimper. She looked down to find would looked like a small rock with a mouth and small eyes with tears built in its eyes. "Oh no," Mi-suk picked up the creature, "this is one of the wuhp (wup) kiupqi (q-ee-up-quee). Be glad it's a young one you can calm him down."

Scarlet didn't understand much of what she meant except calming down the creature. Mi-suk passed him off to her and she honestly wasn't sure what to do. She just started rubbing the top of his hard head saying, "Ssshhhh, it's ok. I'm so sorry."

There were still tears in his eyes and Mi-suk said, "Maybe try speaking in Kaiju."

"I never learned any of that."

"Your dad never…" she stopped realizing what she was saying, "that's ok. I can teach you. Tell him, itiwdymosl (it-ew-dee-moz-el) boqq (bow-kuh) gi (gee) eqwolmy (ek-wall-my)."

"Itiwdymosl (it-ew-dee-moz-el) boqq (bow-kuh) gi (gee) eqwolmy (ek-wall-my)," Scarlet repeated still rubbing his head and he seemed to calm down.

"Mi-suk," a male voice came from behind. They turned to find a green-skinned young man with dreads down to his back, "What is she doing here?"

"Aho'eitu," Mi-suk began to respond.

Scarlet set down the little rock and spoke up, "I wanted to come here."

He raised his eyebrows, "Really? You came back to what is basically enemy territory for you?"

"Well when you say it like that it sounds stupid," Scarlet made a face back at him.

A grin appeared on his face, "Come on I'll show you to the falls and Mi-suk change back before someone sees you."

"Yeah, yeah I know," she then shifts into her kaiju form with ease.

They continued through the jungle for sometime until they reached a picturesque waterfall. It's crystal blue waters rushing down into a large, shallow pool. He guided them into the knee-deep waters and through the falls to reveal a cave. There sat a white scaled kaiju with platinum blonde hair. He laid upon a set of rocks playing what looked like a wooden flute.

"Hey guys," the stranger said in a smooth voice.

"Aither, what are you doing here?" Aho'eitu asked.

"We're done with most of the planning for the Leri (Lee-ree) uk (uh-k) Iqirinsyx (eh-ker-ren-sicks). Figured I'd take a break."

He stood up and walked over to Scarlet to where she could see just how tall he was. She looked up at him and said, "So, you're Aither."

"And you're Scarlet. Daddy dearest know you're here?"

"He doesn't need to know."

"Well, certainly there's a reason why you came here?"

"I can't just stop by for a visit?" She gave a voice of fake disappointment.

The Sky Kaiju grinned, "I like her already."
