"Yes, thank you very much Doc" said the Patient with gratitude and walked out.
"Take care of yourself." said the Doctor, while closing the patient's name on his checkerboard. "Ok next patient." asked the Doctor only for the patient that just left to be launched back into his office with a pained grunt.
"Ugk, please help me." pleaded the man who was at death's door sporting the diagonal slashes on his chest.
"Knock knock. I see the Doctor is in" said a large man wearing a light yellow tuxedo with a red undershirt and a grey tie with a vine pattern.
"Yamori!" exclaimed the Doctor with shock.
"You remember the 'what's it' you made for me before?" said Yamori as he clicked his index finger with his thumb resulting in a sickening crack which made the Doctor flinch a bit. "I seem to have misplaced it, so I'm gonna need you to make me another one." Yamori demanded.
"Ok" stuttered out the Doctor while hearing Yamori click his middle finger resulting in a louder crack, Yamori smiled at this.
"Thanks Doc, I'll be back soon." said Yamori while walking out of his office.
"What now dear?" asked a voice as the curtain to one of the other hospital beds opened relieving a beautiful woman with a child that looked to be the age of 11-12.
~ Anteiku ~
At Anteiku Yoshimura was teaching Kaneki how to make coffee.
"Just take it slow, there's no rush, and keep pouring in circles." said Yoshimura as he watched Kaneki brew his first cup of coffee.
"Yes sir," said Kaneki, doing as instructed. After he finished his coffee he poured him a cup and decided to give it a taste.
"How is it?" asked Yoshimura with a smile and his arms behind his back.
"I'd like to say it's as good as yours but that's not the case," said Kaneki sadly.
"Remember, coffee is different depending on the effort put into it, so take your time and you'll always have a perfect cup." said Yoshimura with a smile.
"Ok" said Kaneki with a smile.
"There's one thing to keep in mind, Anteiku isn't just an ordinary coffee house, it's a place where the ghouls of the 20th ward can come together, a safe haven of some sorts. Though there will be times where we get human customers to come in as well, just as you did once." said Yoshimura with the same smile.
"But I thought ghouls were meant to hide themselves from the world? So why are we still serving human customers?" Kaneki asked, confused.
"Because we need to study them, it's our only way to blend into their society, when it comes to it humans are like living books to us ghouls. That said I suppose the simplest answer is…I like them." said the Manager with a bright smile.
"Oh?" Kaneki inquired.
"So do you think you can go down stairs and give Naruto a hand?" asked Yoshimura.
"Ah yes sir" replied Kaneki while walking down the stairs. 'He likes humans, in what sense exactly?' thought Kaneki while opening the door outside the coffee area only to see Naruto talking to Hide.
Noticing the door opening Naruto and Hide looked at the door for the staff only, only to see Kaneki.
"Kaneki! What's up?" asked Hide with a raised hand in greeting towards Kaneki, looking surprised Kaneki had to ask.
"Hide? What are you doing here?" asked Kaneki with confusion.
"Well that should be obvious of course, I'm here to thank Naruto." said Hide while giving a wink and a two finger salute to which Naruto did the same.
"For what?" asked Kaneki to which Hide looked dumbfounded.
"You don't remember? Naruto was the one that found us after the accident." said Hide with a smile, Kaneki still looked confused.
"Wha-ugk" exclaimed Kaneki as he was elbowed in the side by Naruto who was smiling.
"I guess he hasn't fully recovered yet huh" laughed Naruto while retracting his elbow to his side.
"So how are you feeling?" asked Hide with a smile, to which Kaneki gave a forced smile while holding his side.
"Good, yeah." was the simple reply from Kaneki.
"Well I'm glad. I heard Nishio was in the hospital, we're really lucky you found us when you did, I mean the fact that we only got off with a few scratches is all thanks to you, we owe you one." said Hide while putting on a rain jacket and walking out. "See you guys later." and with that Hide was out the shop.
"Yeah see ya." said Kaneki with a wave and Naruto just waved and the door shut with the doorbell chiming.
"Be wary around him, you can't let him find out you're a ghoul." said Naruto with a serious tone to which Kaneki went to clean Hide's leftovers.
"I know, thanks." said Kaneki with a smile, Naruto looked at him more seriously and said with a sharp tone.
"I'm warning you, if he ever finds out about us I'll have no choice, I'll have to end him right on the spot." said Naruto to which Kaneki did a 360 degree turn and looked scared.
"You'll what?" exclaimed Kaneki while spilling Hide's coffee staining the floor.
"If you don't want anything to happen then don't tell him anything." said Naruto when the doorbell rang and a woman and a child came in.
"Hi, welcome to Anteiku." said Naruto lazily but became serious about who came into the shop.
"Hello Naruto," said the woman.
"Ryouko, get some towels Kaneki!" exclaimed Naruto while stepping towards Ryouko.
"Ok!" Kaneki went to get towels.
~ 2 minutes later ~
"Sorry, I don't mean to bother you." said Ryouko while drying the little girl's hair.
"Don't be silly, you two are welcome anytime." said Naruto while drying the girls back. "Hey long time no see huh." said Naruto while smiling at the girl. "Hinami." Naruto exclaimed while looking sadly at Hinami.
"Where's Yoshimura?" asked Ryouko while wiping the water from Hinami's hair.
"He's inside." said Naruto seriously. "Kaneki another." exclaimed Naruto seriously but you could detect the sense of humour in his voice to which Kaneki gave Ryouko another towel.
"I'm sorry," said Kaneki, giving Hinami a smile as she looked away.
After Ryouko and Hinami were dry they left into the staff area.
"Their ghoul's too?" asked Kaneki to which Naruto tossed him a wet towel.
"That's Hinami and Ryouko Fueguchi, we're gonna be looking after them from now on." said Naruto while making him a cup of coffee.
"Why did they come here?" asked Kaneki with a raised eyebrow.
"I'd tell you but it's a long story." said Naruto, watering his coffee slowly.
"Then tell me we have time," said Kaneki.
"I'll tell you later, it's too troublesome to explain it all in one day." said Naruto with a laugh.
"Ok maybe later," said Kaneki, a bit downcasted. Seeing this Naruto didn't want him to be sad.
"You want some coffee Ken." asked Naruto hoping to brighten his spirits.
"Yes please, I'd love a cup." said Kaneki with a smile.
After Naruto brewed the coffee he poured himself a cup along with Kaneki.
"Here, there is something we have to talk about aside from Hinami's life." Naruto said seriously which in turn got Kaneki frightened. "Did the Manager tell you about the box carriers?" asked Naruto to which Kaneki looked confused.
"About what." Kaneki said, still confused, Naruto sighed at this.
"Did he warn you about the guys who carry the arasha cases?" asked Naruto more seriously.
~ CCG Headquarters ~
"This map shows the current status of the 11th ward. As you can see they are starting to demonstrate organised movement. I hate to say it but I think it's only a matter of time until we have a war on our hands. Well that's all I got. I don't suppose there's somebody else with something to report." said Itsuki Marude, at this somebody raised their hand.
"Kotaro Amon detective first class, I'll start with this. I'm sure everyone here is aware that 3 months ago the 13th wards Jason Yamori came in contact with an S-rated binge eater from the 20th ward, who was left behind at the crime scene." summarised Amon as a photo appeared on the screen in the CCG base, on the screen was a pair of golden rusty pliers.
"And may I ask what that is?" asked Marude while scratching the side of his head.
"Believe that is a ghoul medical apparatus, that may sound hard to believe but we analysed it and discovered that it is made out of Quinque steel." said Amon.
"Oh really." said Marude, but Amon continued.
"While Jason's objective is still unknown, there is one thing that is certain, ever since his meeting with the S-rank binge eater all appearance's of binge activity has come to a stop." finished Amon while sitting down.
"It sounds like there is something fishy going on in the 20th ward huh, I see why you head of your class at the academy Amon. Aren't you lucky Mado, I think having a smart partner would give you lots of time to play with your toys?" asked Marude while smirking towards the only man wearing his white jacket.
"Yeah lucky, hey I don't mean to be rude but can we wrap this up, I can think of lots of ways to spend my time." asked Mado while opening his right eye.
"I'd throw you out if you weren't such a great investigator. Alright Amon and Mado, I'm putting you two in charge of the investigation of the 20th ward. " said Marude.
"Yes sir," said Amon.
"I find it suspicious that the ghouls of this ward is suddenly becoming more active, I can't help but think its a harbinger of things to come, but we can not lose sight of our role in CCG, it's our duty to drive every ghoul out of tokyo no matter what trials we face in the oncoming future that will always be our top priority. This meeting is now over dismiss." finished Marude with the room saluting towards him.
After leaving the room Amon and Mado can be seen walking in the main hall of the CCG HQ.
"Well on the bright side at least we're free to investigate the 20th ward as we please" said Mado Amon nodding.
"Yes, but unfortunately this is the only lead to our investigation." said a somewhat downcasted Amon while holding the pair of golden pliers.
"It's enough, you see we've caught one end of the thread, all we have to do is root them out, and I'm sure it won't be long till we reach the other end," said Mado.
"Yes sir," said Amon with Mado looking out the CCG window in somewhat of a daze.
"The 20th ward? "said Mado with a sadistic smile.
"What about it?" asked Amon
"Oh nothing, a binge eater, a gourmet and then there's Jason, exciting." said Mado creepily.
~ Anteiku ~
Kaneki can be seen in the staff room with Yoshimura in front of a plate of delicious sandwiches.
"Give it a try Kaneki." said Yoshimura with Kaneki hesitantly taking a bite and instantly spitting the remains out in the trash.
"I'm sorry sir but there's no way I could do it," said Kaneki while spitting in the bin.
"Are you alright?" asked Yoshimura with a frown.
"The bread is so bland it's like I took a bite out of a sponge, the cheese smells rancid and it has a nasty texture like clay." said Kaneki while poking his tongue out.
"Ahaha if only you could see the ridiculous look on your face." said Yoshimura while picking up a sandwich and taking a bite.
"Hmmm hmmm the trick is not to eat it but to swallow it whole then you have to pretend to chew it about 10 times hmmm hmmm if you make chewing sounds it will make your proformance more believable. You just have to throw it up before your body starts to digest it, skip that step and you could jeopardise your health." said Yoshimura while placing the bitten sandwich on the plate.
"I'll keep trying," said Kaneki with a smile.
"Oh one more thing I have a present for you" said Yoshimura while pulling out a jar with brown colored sugar clubs.
"What are these? Sugar clubs?" asked Kaneki while holding a club with his index finger and thumb.
"Yes but there a bit different on the inside, dissolve a couple of these in your next cup of coffee and it will help to keep your hunger under control." said Yoshimura with a smile, Kaneki opened his mouth to give a 'thank you' but shut it thinking to himself and had to ask.
"What are they made of sir?" asked Kaneki with a frown.
"It's probably best that you don't know," said Yoshimura with a smile.
"Thanks, these will help out a lot," said Kaneki with a smile.
"I'd hate to ask but do you think you could stay late today Kaneki?" asked Yoshimura with a smile.
"No, I don't mind at all, sir," replied Kaneki.
"Normally I'd ask Touka or Naruto for this but you see Touka is studying for an important exam and Naruto is in the 17th yard talking to some important contacts to insure Anteiku's survival. If you're up for it I'd like to send food shopping in their place." said Yoshimura with the ever grandfatherly smile.
"Me go food shopping, b-but I can't kill anybody" said Kaneki eyes shut.
"It's not what you think you don't have to harm anyone, here at Anteiku we provide food for our brethren who aren't able to provide for themselves, I'm sure you can understand why that's necessary " said Yoshimura with a frown.
"Yes sir but if we're not hurting anyone then how?" asked Kaneki with confusion.
"Go see Yomo, he'd be happy to answer any question you may have." said Yoshimura
Kaneki can be seen in a car with a rather handsome white haired man as the driver, he supposed this was Yomo.
"Um excuse me Mr Yomo, I get that we're going food shopping but what exactly does that mean?" Kaneki got no response. 'Ghoul incapable of hunting humans? I wonder if Hinami and Mrs Fueguchi are like me?' thought Kaneki looking out the window.
After arriving at the destination the car they were travelling in stopped behind a red car that looked abandoned.
"Ok get out." said Yomo, taking his seat belt off and opening the car door Kaneki followed the instructions.
"Oh wow we're so high up," said Kaneki.
"Don't lean on that, you'll fall." said Yomo calmly and watched Kaneki fall off the cliff screaming, while falling Kaneki closed in and his Kagune came out and stopped him from hitting the ground.
"Oh wow I'm still alive." said Kaneki then looked to the side and saw a corpse and screamed. Yomo landed beside Kaneki and walked to the corpse and started packing the corpse in the big blue bag he had, not before praying for the lost soul.
~ Unknown location ~
In an alley was a man in a purple hoodie with tattoos and piercings all over his face and the man was lurking the alley trailing behind a ghoul investigator who had white hair. The man most likely a ghoul leaped into the air and came down with his mouth wide so he could chomp down on the investigator's shoulder only for the investigator to throw his suitcase in the direction the ghoul was coming from cutting him in half from the waist down.
"You ok, I'm sorry I didn't catch up in time." said Amon while running to his superior.
"Don't worry Amon I'm fine, you however need to rely more on your senses. Tell me something. Do you happen to know what this is?" asked Mado while pointing to the gadget in Amons hand.
"W-what?" the ghoul asked with confusion.
"I asked you about this gadget, so you better tell me what it is or you'll regret it" said Mado with a creepy look.
"T-that I-I don't know, I-I swear." pleaded the ghoul while Mado came closer with his quinque in hand and brought it down and beheaded the ghoul with a chuckle.
~ Anteiku ~
"So I need a mask?" asked Kaneki while drying some plates with a cloth.
"Yes, I think it would be a good idea for you to have one." said Yoshimura with a smile.
"Ok." said Kaneki.
"Touka." said the manager with the same smile plastered to his face.
"Yes sir." said Touka with the coffee dish in her hand.
"Kaneki here needs a mask done so do you think you can take him to Uta's tomorrow?" asked Yoshimura while smiling.
"Wha-, but it's my one day off and the last person I want to spend it with is this loser," said Touka while looking away.
"I'd send him on his own but I'm afraid he might get lost and as you know that area isn't exactly the safest part of town, and Naruto is still out on his assignment." said Yoshimura.
"I understand why you want me to go with him, but I don't think that moron deserves a mask yet." said Touka while slamming her hands down on the counter frightening Kaneki at the display.
Yoshimura lost his smile and turned serious. "Touka. There are two investigators in the 20th ward." said Yoshimura with a serious frown.
"Not the 'Doves'." said Touka with a frightened look.
"The what?" asked Kaneki.
"They're already doing damage, that's why I think it would be good for Kaneki to have one just in case." said Yoshimura.
"Yeah you got it. Listen up eye patch." said Touka while she gained a scary purple aura around her and it was as if light illuminated her face. "2:30 tomorrow at the train station, show up late and you're dead." said Touka with a tone that clearly says 'Your life is in the palm of my hand.
"Right," said Kaneki nervously.
~ 17th Ward ~
A figure can be seen jumping from building to building but stopped on one building and leaned on a wall with his arms crossed. The figure had a black coat with a popped up collar and short sleeves. He wore black cargo pants that were tucked into his black boots, he had black arm sleeves that covered his whole hand but his fingers, and to finish off the attire the figure wore a mask that was a fox mask that had red markings going from the eyes to the ears.
"What do you know about Aogiri tree plans for the 20th wards Binge eater?" asked the figure with an altered voice.
"Aogiri is going to track down Rize and experiment on her, well more specifically Dr Kanou will experiment on her." said a voice on the other corner of the building.
"Why does he want Rize specifically? It doesn't make sense." said the figure.
"That's all the info I have on Aogiri until next time Kitsune, farewell." said the voice and disappeared. The now named Kitsune sighs and takes his mask off showing red hair, blue eyes and 6 whisker marks.
"Damn it." said Naruto with his tone returned, he put his mask back on and activated his kakugan and disappeared into the night sky.
~ Next morning ~
Touka can be seen walking down a road to the train station with a green short sleeved jacket, pink stockings and black shorts with a purple undershirt. Touka was in an angry mood, so you may be asking why, well the reason why was because her sleep pillow wasn't there last night so she was in a bad mood.
'How dare that cute tomato fucker not be there, I missed my cuddle bunny.' thought angrily while fiddling with a ring on her index finger, the ring was a fox with nine tails swirling around the fox.
Touka saw Kaneki standing in the middle of a crowd looking lost. She got a mischievous idea and she walked behind Kaneki and kicked him in the back.
"What the hell-oh it's you." said Kaneki while looking at Touka and with her walking away in a random direction. They both passed run down buildings and heard a commotion with a woman throwing a bottle at a man.
"Uta!" exclaimed rather loudly to get Uta's attention. "Hello? What gives? Is he sleeping at work?" asked Touka to herself. Kaneki sees something rather interesting and goes to investigate, he sees a cloth over a rack where a manikin should be. Getting curious Kaneki decides to remove the cover to see its confines, what he saw under the cover was….strange.
"Boo." exclaimed a man with a monotone voice and sporting piercings on his eyelid, lip and ears.
"AHHHHH!" Kaneki screamed and fell back with the cover still in his hand.
"What are you doing Uta?" asked Touka with a small smile.
"Oh wow, I went out of my way to pleasantly surprise you." said Uta with the same monotone.
"This is Uta, he'll make a mask for you." said Touka while taking off her jacket.
"Sup I'm Uta." said Uta while quirking his head slightly.
"U-um hi my name is Ken Kaneki nice to m-" said Kaneki but was interrupted by Uta who pulled him forward by the collar and started to sniff him.
"You smell….odd." inquired Uta while taking a big whiff of Kaneki's scent. "Touka, I heard the 'Doves' are on the prowl." asked Uta.
"Yeah." replied Touka with arms crossed.
"The 20th ward is nice and quiet, no one ever bothers to check us out." said Uta while still holding Kaneki's collar when he tried to pull away. "I'm guessing it has something to do with Rize?" asked Uta. Getting curious Kaneki had to ask.
"Um, is the 20th ward more peaceful than all the others? I wouldn't know." said Kaneki.
"Live somewhere else for a bit, and the difference will be obvious. If you're up to it, you can stay over for the night. And if you're lucky then you'll be able to experience some cannibalism. That's always exciting" said Uta with a creepy look in his eyes.
"Ah no thanks." said Kaneki frightened.
"Having a home like Anteiku must be great for you huh." said Uta "Go sit over there. I'll take your measurements." said Uta while pointing towards a lone chair in the middle of the room. "Do you have any allergies?" asked Uta with a sketch pad in his hand.
"No," said Kaneki.
"Which do you prefer, metal or rubber?" asked Uta rather quickly.
"They're fine-" said Kaneki but was cut off.
"You want a full mask?" asked Uta.
"Well, it is your first time. Maybe a half-mask instead." said Uta while rubbing his chin.
"S-sure," replied Kaneki.
"Cute eyepatch. Are you a fan of it?" asked Uta while inspecting the eyepatch.
"Oh well, when I get hungry this eye turns red whether I want it to or not." said Kaneki while moving the white cotton eye patch.
"You could always just eat, you know. Speaking of, you want a snack?" asked Uta while offering Kaneki an eyeball.
"N-no thanks" said Kaneki frightened.
"So Kaneki, do you have a 'love interest'?" asked Uta.
"Ah not at the moment no." said Kaneki confused.
"I see you're one of those. A guy who gets more attention from older women then girls his age." said Uta while licking the eyeball.
"Excuse me but what do all of these questions have to do with anything?" asked Kaneki, a bit annoyed at Uta's last remark.
"A lot really, the more I know you the better your mask will look." said Uta who put his sketchbook down. "You're not interested in Touka?" asked Uta, grabbing a measuring tape.
"She's cute but she's also pretty scary," said Kaneki with a shiver.
"Scary huh? I wouldn't say that, I'd just say she's misunderstood because she's a really hard worker." said Uta while measuring Kaneki's head. "In order to blend into society we have to wear a metaphorical mask. One that we never remove. We're forced to live on the outskirts of their world. We can't get too close because if anyone were to suspect us we'd be dead. She knows she's at risk but she doesn't affect her life. She works at Anteiku serving humans, hell she even goes to school with one of them." explained Uta.
"But why would a ghoul like her wanna be so involved with people?" asked Kaneki with a perplexed look.
"That's a good question. Well, you see I know my pulse always races when I get a human customer, I can't explain it. But when it comes to Naruto and Touka, they stay cool." said Uta with a smile remembering the times when Naruto helped him with the shot as a child. After the measurements were done Touka and Kaneki left the shop and could be seen walking on a footpath with Touka in front and Kaneki at the back.
'She is a hard worker, where i'm nothing.' thought Kaneki with sadness. "Hey Touka, I have a question," said Kaneki.
"Well what do you want?" said Touka with a lazy tone.
"I was just wondering, what happened to Hinami?" asked Kaneki.
"Why should I tell you, it doesn't concern you." said Touka with an angry tone.
"Please you gotta tell me. Because I want to help her. There has to be something I can do." announced Kaneki. At this Touka turns around to look at Kaneki.
"In that case, she was forced to leave her family home and leave her father behind. I'm sure she's anxious, I've never seen her so scared in a while." said Touka with her arms crossed and a sad face.
"Yeah, that's gotta be tough."? said Kaneki sadly. "Hey Touka, what's the purpose for having a mask?" asked Kaneki.
"WHAT! Nobody bothered to explain that to you." said Touka rather angrily.
"Ah no." said Kaneki confused at her sudden outburst.
"Some manager he is, so the 'Doves' or ghoul investigators are hanging around our ward. They're causing havoc like no other if you ever run into any of them you don't want them to see your face. They're just looking to cause chaos." said Touka coldly.
~ Scene break ~
In an alley Amon and Mado are seen investigating some ghouls.
"AHHHHH!" screamed both ghouls. One ghoul had vibrant red hair whereas the other had plain brown hair.
"Step back." announced Amon while swinging his suitcase at the offending ghouls, slamming them into the wall in the process.
"Do either of you know of this Item" asked Amon holding the evidence from the 'Binge eater' and Jason crime scene.
"How should I know you no good batar-ugkkk" said the brown haired ghoul only to get decapitated.
"What about huh." said Amon to the only living ghoul at the moment.
"Nah dude I've never seen it before." said the red head.
"You're not lying are you?" asked Mado with his quinque out but it wasn't visible to the ghoul.
"No way, why would I li-AHHH '' screamed the redhead in agony.
"Thank you for your time answering our questions," said Mado sarcastically. "Oh well looks like we'll have to hit up another alley huh?" asked Mado. He looked down at the red head for a little bit as the mop of red hair looked like someone familiar.
"Yeah I guess," said Amon.
~ Anteiku ~
Kaneki could be seen standing outside one of the guest bedrooms with a wry smile.
"Here it goes." said Kaneki confidently while reaching for the door handle he could hear something on the other side of the door, it sounded like…..a woman?
~ Inside the room ~

"Oh Naruto." moaned Touka while she was on the guestroom bed with a shirtless Naruto with his head in the crook of Touka's neck sucking on her neck and giving her a hickey seeing the hickey he licked it lovingly.
Feeling Naruto's tongue on her neck Touka grabbed the back of Naruto's head and pulled him closer with her left hand and used her right hand to feel Naruto's impressive back muscles and she touched a sensitive muscle that made him moan, when she heard this she grinned at the idea she had in mind.
With her hand on his deltoid she started rubbing it lightly gaining another moan from him, she decided to up the ante and rubbed it harder getting a louder moan from Naruto who tried to back away but was halted by Touka who hooked her legs around the back of Naruto knees keeping him in place.
"Let me go or you'll regret it." moaned Naruto while he buried his head in her neck harder.
"No way." said Touka who was having the time of her life, Touka widened her eyes and moaned rather loudly and squeezed Naruto deltoid harder getting another moan from him but he grinned and spoke.
"I told you'll regret it didn't I." said Naruto with a victorious smirk as he started to grope and rub her perky breasts through her purple shirt. Touka let go of Naruto's shoulder in defeat and moved her hand back to his head and pulled him into a sloppy kiss that he accepted wholeheartedly. Not letting go of Touka's breasts he kissed her and played with her breasts.
"F-fuck, I hate you, you fucking sexy motherfucker!" growled Touka saying everything on her mind when it came to her red stud.
"Oh don't deny it, you love me." said Naruto with a grin, and continued his ministrations.
"Don't fucking stop you adorable fucker." growled Touka as she moved her hand back to his deltoid.

All Kaneki heard was moaning thinking it was different workers, doing a 180 turn he left the door and went down to the coffee shop with a red face.
Calming down from the whole 'incident' Kaneki brews a coffee for Hinami. Kaneki walks up the stairs to Hinami and her moms room only to see a tray with a plate, a knife and fork, stepping over it he knocks on the door to Hinami's room.
"Hinami, can I come in?" asked Kaneki at the door in front of him.
"Yes, come in." said Hinami on the other side of the door. Opening the door Kaneki walks to see Hinami and gives her a coffee.
"Hello Hinami, my name is Ken Kaneki. It's nice to meet you." said Kaneki politely.
"Hello Kaneki, it's nice to meet you too." said Hinami politely.
"I brought you a cup of coffee, I'll just leave it here." said Kaneki, placing the coffee cup on the table Hinami was sitting on.
"Wait, mister," said Hinami. Hearing her calling him, Kaneki stopped in his tracks and turned to face Hinami.
"Yes Hinami, do you need something?" asked Kaneki with a smile.
"I don't mean to intrude but….what are you?" asked Hinami with a raised eyebrow and a confused look etched on her face.
"Oh" replied Kaneki contemplating on what to say.
"It's just…you're different from other humans and if you like us I'd be able to tell even from far away." said Hinami while looking down, at this Kaneki smiled and decided to enlighten her.
"Well a lot has happened to me in the past few months but I'd say I'm a bit of both." said Kaneki, surprising Hinami. "It's like my body is turning into a ghoul but I still have the mind of a human hehe." Kaneki chuckled as Hinami looked down.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to embarrass you." Hinami said sincerely, not wanting to make Hinami and Kaneki see something that intrigued him.
"No, it's fine. Hey, did you draw that all by yourself? Is that a teddy bear?" asked Kaneki, seeing a green bear with a scarf and no arms.
"No, it's my dad," said Hinami with a lost look.
"Oh yeah I see that now." said Kaneki waving the other thought of a teddy bear away. "Your dad, hm I hope you'll be together soon." said Kaneki brightening up Hinami's day.
"Me too." said Hinami with a smile. Seeing something that looked familiar Kaneki was surprised to see a book he used to read.
"Is that Monochrome of rainbows?" asked Kaneki with a bright look.
"It is, have you heard of it?" asked Hinami with a quivering eyebrow.
"I can't believe you're reading Takatsuki, her books are a bit hard for someone your age, but that book is full of short stories so I guess it's easier to read. So hey what's your favourite story, Hinami." asked Kaneki with a bright smile, at this Hinami thought over the question and came to an answer.
"I think it's called little night and rain type?" said Hinami, not sure about the story's name.
"Oh wait, you mean 'Showers at sunset' ? That story inspired her book Egg of the black sheep." Kaneki said brightly.
"Oh wow, you know so much you're really smart. Oh hold on, do you know what this word is?" asked Hinami, showing a word that she could never get right.
"Yeah, that's hydrangea," Kaneki said to Hinami.
"Ok what about this one?" asked Himani as she flipped through a few more pages.
"That word basically means thin Ice but it's pronounced 'hakuhyou'." said Kaneki.
" That's pretty," said Hinami with a mesmerised look.
"I suppose but there's another word for it that I like better. Have you heard of 'glazing' ? I think it's prettier." said Kaneki with an eye smile.
"Yeah!" Hinami nearly screamed.
Kaneki and Hinami get to know each other and become close like siblings and mid way through the conversation Kaneki asked if Hinami goes to school where she says 'no' saying because of her situation she doesn't go to school because of her 'situation' so she writes what she learns in her note book. Kaneki came up with a perfect idea asking if she wanted to learn new words every now and then for her education.
~ In an unknown alley way ~
"Box carriers in the 20th ward, sounds like you had one hell of a day." said a brown-haired man with a plaster on his face.
"No shit, I just don't get why they're hanging around here you feel me." said the red haired ghoul that was 'cut down' by Mado. "Damn it this really hurts." said the red head holding the slash on his chest.
"I heard that gourmet guy has been on the CCG's neck lately, maybe he's the one that's attracting them?" assumed the brown-haired man.
"Did a 'dove' do that to you?" asked the red head.
"Nah these injuries are from someone else." said the brunette.
"Ahh! This sucks!" cried the red head clutching his wound.
"Quit being a baby, why don't you let doctor Fueguchi give you a diagnosis?" asked the brunette with a confused look, but turned into a horrified look when he heard a clash behind his red-haired friend.
"Kenshin, take Hibiki and leave for the Manager!" shouted a hooded figure who looked at them wearing a fox mask.
"Ahhh the SSS Kitsune it's been awhile hasn't it?" asked Mado with a crazed look.
"Kureo Mado it sure has been awhile, I guess this time I'll kill your new partner huh." said Kitsune with a calm voice, at this Amon stiffened but cooled himself remembering Mado's advice.
Kitsune was wearing a black zipped down hoodie with baggy black pants with leather boots and a white undershirt, He was holding Mado's green quinque with one hand and the other hand was in a position to protect Kenshin and Hibiki.
"Kitsune, thank you." asked Kenshin with a thankful look, he grabbed Hibiki by the arm, gaining a grunt of pain from him and they ran out the alley.
"That was our catch, Kitsune, not yours." said Mado with a twitching eye.
"Does it look like I care Mado?" asked Kitsune with a chuckle.
"Fucking bastard." Mado nearly shouted but was silenced by Kitsune who kicked Mado's leg from under him making Mado drop to one knee and Kitsune kicked him in the face launching him back into Amon's open arms who skidded back from the impact.
"Damn you." grunted Mado who got out of Amon's arms and twerked his arm wondering where his quinque was. Looking down he found his quinque was gone.
"Looking for something?" asked Kitsune from the other side of the alley who was holding Mado's green quinque from the middle.
"Be a lad and give me my quinque please." demanded Mado with a creepy smile.
"Let me think hmmm nah." said Kitsune, crushing the quinque in his hand and watching the rest of Mado's quinque dissolve into green and red smoke.
"Bastard." said Mado to Kitsune who smiled and rushed to them. Seeing Kistune approaching them Amon stepped in front of Mado unsealing his quinque which was a staff with a big cylinder on the end to fend off enemy ghoul's.
Sensing an incoming attack Kitsune stopped his charge. "Ahhh you have a Doujima quinque." said Kistune with a tone that showed praise. "But who cares, because frankly I don't give a crap." said Kitsune, resuming his charge to Amon and Mado.
Amon seeing Kitsune charging at him steeled himself and positioned himself where his right foot was placed behind him for support and left leg in front of him for balance and his quinque was positioned so he can swing his quinque in a horizontal line.
Seeing the obvious attack Kitsune ducked the attack and threw four fast punches into Amon's stomach who spat out blood and was launched into the air and Kitsune finished the combo with a 540 kick to Amon's ribs breaking a few in the process.
"Amon!" Mado shouted and saw Amon unconscious and turned to see Kitsune gone. "Don't get too comfortable, Kitsune, Because soon I'll kill you and that One eyed bastard." promised Mado throwing Amon over his shoulder and grabbing his Doujima and walking out of the alley.
~ Next morning ~
~ Anteiku ~
The door to the shop opens and walks in Hinami and Ryouko Fueguchi. "Morning I hope you all have a great day." said Hinami brightly.
"Good morning." said Touka while waving a hand.
"Hey Kaneki good morning." said Hinami and jumped at Naruto who caught her in his arms. "Good morning Big brother." said Hinami as she shed a tear.
"Hehe I've been waiting for my hug Hina." said Naruto releasing Hinami from the embrace who wiped the tear away and waved goodbye to Naruto, Touka and Kaneki and left for the staff area with Ryouko in tow.
"Ok everyone, time for work." said Enji Koma with a laugh and bright smile, seeing Hinami happy again.
Just when the Anteiku workers were about to go to work when a handsome man stepped into the shop wearing an overly bright red suit with purple hair.
The man inhaled the aroma of the shop and sighed in satisfaction. "Oh my, my. What an aroma. For some reason I feel much more relaxed." said the man smiling towards the coffee workers.
