Hope looked toward Evelyn with an amused expression. "I thought I told you to leave me alone. That didn't last very long, did it?"

"I just wanted to make sure you weren't doing anything you'd regret," Evelyn said, peering over at the bartender. "Looks like I may have been too late."

"Don't worry, I was just peckish. I may be emotionless, but I'm not a thoughtless killer," Hope said, turning back to the bartender, getting him to meet her gaze. "You're going to go home, rest, and take yourself a vacation using the money I gave you. You enjoyed yourself, but you know it was a one-time thing and will never come looking for me again."

"I will never come looking," he mumbled.

The bartender stumbled past Hope and Evelyn, pushing his way through the front door. Once he was out of view, Hope turned her attention back to Evelyn, crossing her arms. "So, does the Scooby Gang know you're here or was this all on your own accord?"

"I came alone," Evelyn said, taking a step forward. "Hope, I know killing Landon hurt you, but I'm begging you to turn your emotions back on. Come back to the school with me, so I can help you through this."

"That's a tempting offer, Evelyn," Hope said, jumping up on one of the tables. "But I'm honestly enjoying myself. Emotions are draining and hold people back. I have never felt more free than I do right now. Go back to the school and don't come looking for me again."

"Hope, I care about you," Evelyn said. "It's only been a short while but I consider you my friend and I hate to see my friends suffering, so please come back with me so we can fix this."

Hope jumped down from the table and used her speed to appear in front of Evelyn. Her hand moved forward, grasping a strand of Evelyn's hair and twirling it in her fingers.

"We? That's a heartwarming thought," Hope muttered.

"It can be reality. You just have to turn your emotions back on and come with me," Evelyn said, her hand rising to grab Hope's. "Please."

"What would you do if I did this?" Hope asked, looking Evelyn intently in the eyes. "How far would you go?"

Without moving her gaze, Evelyn lifted her wrist near Hope's face. A look of hunger and interest filled Hope's gaze. "I'd do anything, even if it means bribing you with my blood."

Hope's eyes went to Evelyn's wrist before returning to her eyes. It was the same emotionless expression she had seen the other night, but there was something else behind Hope's eyes. Evelyn could see that Hope was seriously considering her offer. That she may agree to return.

Then her ears perked up at a sound Evelyn couldn't hear. That look in Hope's eyes vanished as she appeared behind Evelyn, wrapping her arm around her neck and putting her in a chokehold.

"If only you'd come alone as you said, I may have listened," Hope whispered, moving her head to look at the front door. "Come out and say hello!"

Silence followed for several moments before the doors swung open to reveal Lizzie, Josie, MG, Jed, Wade, and Alaric. Each came to stand a few feet from the pair, weapons held tight in their hands. The group's looks remained determined, but there was worry behind those stares.

Hope looked toward each of them with an amused expression. "Wow, you brought the whole gang … even Wade."

"Hey, I'm pretty strong!" Wade whined, noticing the glares from the others as he shrunk back. "I am…"

"Hope, we just want to bring you back," MG said.

"Is that so?" Hope questioned, peering at the weapons they held. "Packing quite a lot of heat if that's true."

"It's only if you fight back. If you come willingly we won't have to ruin that awesome leather jacket," Lizzie said, motioning with her crossbow.

"You guys just don't quit, do you? Is it so hard to understand that I want to be left alone?" Hope sighed. "I killed my boyfriend and the pain hurt so bad I wanted to feel nothing, so I made that a reality. I haven't done anything to concern you, except have a meal, but do you see a dead body … no you don't."

Alaric huffed. "It's only been a few days, Hope. Leaving it off will make you do bad things. Don't become…"

"My father?" Hope finished with an amused smile. "Alaric, I thought you'd have more faith in me."

"Hope, I do, but I worry about you. I just want you to be okay. Come back with us and we can figure this out together," Alaric pleaded.

Hope bit her lip, shaking her head. "There's that 'we' again. I appreciate that you care, even when I can't feel anything. I do not need to be fixed. I'm going to figure this out on my own and if I turn my emotions back on it's my choice and mine alone."

Evelyn squeezed Hope's arm, catching her attention. "Please listen to them."

Hope looked toward Evelyn and then back at the others. She knew they wouldn't stop until she came back and turned her emotions back on, but she wasn't ready. Hope was stubborn and hated being told what to do and when people tried, she wanted to do the exact opposite.

Hope made her decision. "I'm not coming with you. Go back to the school and leave me alone. When I am ready, I will return, but not until then."

"We aren't leaving without you," Josie said.

"Too bad."

Hope threw Evelyn to the floor as she pointed her hands at the others. With a whisper, she threw them all into the wall with a loud boom. MG, Wade, and Lizzie had been thrown through the door, so Hope quickly locked it; wood planks appeared across the entrance.

Banging could be heard on the other side as Jed, Josie, and Alaric rose to their feet. Evelyn tried to scramble up to help, but Hope quickly pushed her back down with a shaking head. Jed dropped his weapons and ran with his claws out; aimed at Hope's face.

He swiped at her head, but Hope was already gone, appearing behind him. She placed a hand on his shoulder, whispering beneath her breath as he collapsed to the floor. Once he made an impact, Hope screeched, turning to find Josie had staked her in the back. Hope turned around, reaching behind her as she grabbed the stake and ripped it from her skin.

She threw the stake across the bar, embedding it in the wall. "You missed."

"I know."

Josie moved her hands around and shot them back at Hope, flinging her into the bar, shattering the booze she collided with. Meanwhile, Alaric grabbed Evelyn's hand and helped her to her feet. A woosh could be heard as the pair looked back to find Josie being thrown in their direction.

Alaric pushed Evelyn out of the way as an unconscious Josie collided with him. His back slammed into the floor, the air knocked from his lungs. He slid Josie off and began to push himself onto his elbows as Hope appeared above him, putting her foot on his chest and pushing him back onto the floor.

"You should've left me alone, Alaric," Hope said, slowly shaking her head.

"I'm going to bring you back to us Hope … no matter how long it takes."

She smiled herself. "They may be a while."

"I'm willing to wait."

"Then I'll be seeing you soon."

Hope's foot rose into the air and slammed down on Alaric's head. Not hard enough to cause any real damage, but he'd be out for the count long enough for Hope to escape. She stepped back, turning toward the exit, when she realized Evelyn was still here and conscious.

"Now what am I…" Hope began, appearing in front of Evelyn, causing her to jump. "Going to do with you."

"Probably throw me around like you did the rest of them," Evelyn muttered.

"That'd be the smart move, wouldn't it? Knock you out and run for the hills before any of them have time to follow, but that's boring and I don't do boring," Hope thought aloud.

Hope looked Evelyn up and down, a smile slowly forming on her lips. Her hand moved toward Evelyn, resting on the side of her neck. Hope could feel Evelyn's racing heart under her palm, which made the idea even more tempting.

"I'm leaving and you're coming with me."
