Well, here is the finale, there may be one more chapter as the epilogue but yeah, in this story Don is gonna have to have his memory wiped of the events because otherwise it would contradict the things they learn in the Mutant Riots stories given this story is a prequel and given the time this story takes place between seasons 2 and 3 I don't think the Turtles would be ready to take on Feral.

The feeling of near weightlessness filled Don and Arctica they could jump and they would float for a long time before they finally landed, feeling the giddy feeling they felt when they were small children they began laughing and decided to race each other to the peek of the mountain, which because of this strange magic they could actually do! They leapfrogged up the mountain...

When they finally reached the peek, the mist finally began to thin out, and the magic began to lift, and Don and Arctica had their senses return to them and they realized just how strange they had been acting they had suddenly become like cats who had been given catnip!

"Whoa!" Don said rubbing his head as he sat down to ease the dizziness "Did we seriously just...Prance our way up the mountain in just a few minutes?"

"I think we did..." Arctica said "...Everytime we jumped we floated several feet before we finally landed, like in my dreams...Many a time I had a dream where I would jump and float, I would even flap my arms like I have seen the bird and bat people do quite a few times I would become self aware and ask...If I can fly now how come I don't remember doing this before?"

And then came the unmistable sound a train...It nearly made Don and Arctica jump out of their skins!

But instead of a train appearing, some of the remaining mist began to take shape, walking toward them on all fours was a polar bear made out of mist, the Conductor's true form as a fey ursine spirit.

"Welcome Arctica..." The Mist Bear said "...You have both learned your lesson and completed the task you were sent to this world to do, for you see if there wasn't someone in that Lab willing to help Donatello out he would have never been able to escape in time and Feral would have dissected him for sure! And Donatello is too needed in this world to let that happen...You have completed your penance and earned your redemption..."

Don's jaw dropped! "You mean...She was sent to this world...To save my life?!" He was practically squeaking

"Yes..." The Mist-Bear said nodding his head "...But unfortunatly Donatello, now is the time for your memory to be wiped of this whole unpleasant experience, you will only remember what you need to remember..."

Incensed both Don and Arctica exclaimed "What?! Why?!"

"Because it is not yet time..." The Mist-Bear said "...Too soon for you to know the truth about Feral, I tell you Donatello he is in some ways a trhousand times more dangerous than the Shredder because Feral believes himself to be good...Very few things more dangerous than self righteousness...We will also put a hypnotic suggestion in Feral and his henchmen's minds causing them to forget they ever captured you and any thought of catching you and your family again will be countered by a hypnotic suggestion saying 'You don't want to do that'

The Bear's misty hands Reached over and removed the bandage around Don's neck "I'm sorry..." The Bear said softly "But it really is for your own protection...It is...Not yet time..."And as he said that his misty touch completely erased the scars on his neck, no one would ever know they were there...

Don closed his eyes and collpased on the ground, sweetly asleep,

"You will keep your memories of this experience..." The Mist-Bear said as he began to soliify and transform into his Anthropomorphic Conductor Form "...For you need to have the story to tell to explain how you regained your normal form and learned your lesson, I'm sure the Shamans will be pleased that Humanimals who begin to turn into hideous beasts are not nessicarily doomed and are capable of reforming themselves back to normal."

As the Twilight Express rose into the sky, Arctica looked to the mountain below and thought 'Goodbye Donatello, I'll never forget you...' A blew a sentimental kiss out the window...

I like to think while she still feels attraction to Don she's learned her lesson and it was a purely platonic kiss, while thinking about this chapter I began imagining how the other Turtles would react to Arctica's story since AU's seem to be all the rage (Though I do think 'Other Character Aus' may be misguided as they don't seem to realize part of story craft is 'X Character has X Qualities that allowed X Events to happen' that with some stories pull one thread loose the whole thing falls apart)but thinking about how the other Turtles would react obviously Leo the most honorable Turtle would be downright disgusted by the story of Arctica's attempted betrayal and for such a petty reason as wanting luxury I imagine he would say something along the lines of 'I'm half tempted to just abandon you here and leave you to fend for yourself but then I remember the reason you did it is because you're just a stupid bratty kid' I imagine Leo would treat her very cooly for the rest of the journey Arctica would not attempt to make a pass at him then and if she did he would be incensed! Thinking about Raph or Mikey I actually think Raph would be more forgiving remembering Mikey's worship of Superheroes AND in The Darkness Within episode it is revealed his greatest fear is betrayal Mikey would be like 'Hey I like nice things too, but not so much to betray my family! If the choice was between pizza and betraying my bros I'd be like I'd rather starve to death!' and I think all three Turtles might push on the fact that Arctica had been a slave for at least two years and never made friends with any of her fellow slaves she just looked down her nosr at all of them because they weren't Fellow Arctic Wolves showing she was quite the racist and she only was willing to befriend other species in Feral's Lab because she was at the absolute end of her ropes
