With all the remaining strength that he had, Jonas wrapped his frozen arms around Gabriel, and smiled at his little brother with all the tenderness that he now felt inside. "We're safe now," he gently said to the newchild, "We're safe." And as he spoke, a new strength had taken over him. He didn't notice when the sled stopped moving, and that they had finally reached the bottom of the giant snow-covered hill. A new feeling burned deep inside him, and it was the feeling of love…the deepest feeling that could ever be felt. It hung around them, with the blinking of the colored lights strung to the trees, and the patches of heavy snow packed all around them.

The coldness did not bother him anymore, neither did the hunger, but instead he felt used to it, as if he had felt it his entire life. As he looked up, large snowflakes fell down on his chilled face. He now saw clouds, and stars, and treetops for the first time that he could ever remember. These were the first of his memories-the ones that marked the beginning a new life…his new life.

He laughed as he stood up on what were once weak, trembling legs, and felt as if he could sprint through the small village with ease. As he did, at first, he didn't notice the faces of people who had caught sight of the both them and were now watching them with an immense curiosity. Who were these strangers with light colored eyes, they had thought to themselves…they seem to have come a long way. The young and the old had congregated together, and gazed in amazement at the newcomers. Jonas had never before witnessed the young and the old together like this.

This must be a family, he thought, and smiled with awe and amazement at the scene before him. It was in an instant, that he knew this was where they were meant to be. This was the end of their mission...the thing they had searched many months for. This was Elsewhere.

And so it was, the two children spent the remainder of their lives learning the ways of the village, and Jonas had even taken it upon himself to share memories of his own with the other villagers. He was known throughout the entire land that he called Elsewhere, and its many villages and provinces, for his great tales and teachings. No one knew much about the two brothers' past, but had only assumed that they were out to save the world, and unite its villages.

And so, the tale of the great and wise young boy with sparkling light eyes, and his caring little brother would be handed down for many generations to come.
