Greetings, dear readers, and welcome back to All I Want For Christmas is a Pokémon. Quite fitting that I'm updating this now, given that we're approaching the holiday season. Speaking of holidays, I hope everyone that celebrates it had a great Thanksgiving last week.
Now, onto the chapter! Last time saw AJ getting ready for her first ever day of training with Pikachu. And it looks like our Electric boi is feeling pretty excited about training too. So, how will the duo's first day of training go? Read on to find out, my dolls, and I hope you all enjoy this. =)
"Now. First thing we gotta do is figure out just what we're working with here."
"And what do you mean by that exactly?" AJ asked, feeling a bit confused with Pikachu asking "Pika?" in a similar tone.
"What I mean is figuring out just what Pikachu's moveset is. If we can find just which moves he already knows and can potentially learn, that can all be something we can use as a starting point in your big training journey!" Kaitlyn said with a grand flourish of her hands and Bulby mimicking her Trainer's movements to the best of her abilities with her vines, not really caring about the looks she had gotten from some of the other Trainers and their Pokémon there.
Doing her best to hold back the laughs threatening to escape her, AJ cleared her throat before saying "OK, Kait, that all sounds like a plan to me. Where do we begin?"
"Well, first thing's first. As we've already talked about, we have to figure out just what Pikachu's moveset is as of now. Then, from there, we can work on helping him better hone those moves and his inner strength," Kaitlyn explained.
"Sounds like a plan to me. But, how do we do that exactly?"
"Well, there are machines here that are pretty helpful with assessing a Pokémon's potential in regards to moves they already know and can learn. Using one of these, we can figure out just which moves Pikachu already knows," Kaitlyn explained.
"OK, that sounds like a plan," AJ nodded as she and her friend went over to where the bank of machines was.
An attendant sitting near the bank, a woman with blonde hair halfway dyed blue, and her Pokémon, a four-legged Pokémon with what looked like green spikes around its neck and a big leaf sprouting out of its head, stood from her seat and went to assist this incoming group. "Hello, and welcome to the Pokémon Training Center. My name is Kelsey, this is my partner Chikorita, and I'm one of the Move Tutors here. How may I help you?"
"Ko Chik Chiko," the Grass-type Pokémon greeted with a wave of one of his vines.
"Hi, Kelsey. My name's Kaitlyn and this down here is my partner Bulby," the two-toned woman said, making the needed introductions.
"Sa Bul Bulbasaur!" Bulby greeted with a wave of one of her own vines.
"And, hi. My name's AJ and this here is my partner Pikachu," the brunette said, holding up the Electric mouse.
"Ch-Ch-Chu," Pikachu said with a slight wave, feeling a bit nervous as he looked at this new human.
"Nice to meet you all. So, how can I help you today? Which of your Pokémon wants to learn a move?"
Taking this as her opportunity to step forward-that, and a slight nudge from Kaitlyn-AJ said "Actually, I was wondering if there's any way you could help find out moves a Pokémon may already know."
"OK, sure. I'd be glad to help you find something like that out. I'm guessing the Pokémon you need to know all this for is for this cutie here?" Kelsey asked with a grin as she scratched Pikachu behind one of his ears, something that drew a content "Kaaaaa" from the Pokémon.
A light laugh escaping her, AJ said "Yeah. You see, I just recently caught him, and I'm not sure just which moves he may already know."
"Well, no problem, AJ, I'll help you out with that. If you and Pikachu would just follow us to one of the booths, we can get started," the attendant said.
"OK," AJ nodded. Following behind the woman and her Pokémon, the brunette began to feel a bit nervous. She wasn't quite sure what to expect as far as finding out Pikachu's potential moveset went, but she knew this had to be done. 'It's to help me and Pikachu get stronger. That way, we can face whatever it is Stephanie has planned for us next week.'
Reaching an available booth, Kelsey said "OK, AJ. Now, if you two will just come inside with me" before pushing open a curtain.
Following the woman into the booth, both AJ and Pikachu felt surprised by what they were seeing as shown by AJ's "Whoa" and Pikachu's "Pikaaaaa". The booth was spacious enough, as it seemed like it could hold a small crowd-or say, a Trainer's large Pokémon-and had a few chairs, a bookshelf filled with a number of books, a few posters decorating the walls, a table, and what appeared to be a computer of some sort. Walking over to Kelsey as she watched the attendant do something on the computerlike device, AJ stood in wait of what was next.
Finishing what she had to do on the computerlike device, Kelsey went out pulling some cords before saying "OK, AJ. Now, just bring Pikachu over here to the table, please."
'Bring Pikachu over here'? He didn't like that. Pikachu had no idea just what it was the human named Kelsey had in store for him, but he couldn't help but have a sudden urge to want to try to run away. It wasn't until he heard the human named AJ say "Relax, Pikachu, it's okay. Kelsey's just doing this so that she can help us find out which moves you know. Just be calm, and it'll go smoothly." Feeling a bit calmer upon hearing this, the Electric mouse managed to relax enough for the human named AJ to sit him on the table and for the human named Kelsey to place two strange sticky things on the sides of his head.
"OK, now to find out Pikachu's moves," Kelsey said before pressing a button, causing the devices on Pikachu's temples to glow and the machine's screen to display a few lines of text along with a picture of Pikachu. This went on for a few minutes more before an electronic voice could be heard "Process complete. Pikachu's moves analyzed." Then another machine sound, that sound being a printer, could be heard as it soon produced a piece of paper which Kelsey grabbed once it was fully out. "Here you go, AJ. A complete list of the moves Pikachu currently knows. And it looks like a good list."
Taking the paper from the attendant as she took the devices off of Pikachu, AJ looked down at the paper and was surprised by what she saw. "Whoa" was all she could say as she read over the paper.
Laughing a bit, Kelsey said "You sound pretty surprised. Almost like you didn't expect Pikachu to know most of the moves there" as she went about saving the recent move scan and exiting out of it.
"Yeah, well, I had a feeling he knew moves like Thunderbolt and Spark. I just didn't think he knew something like Iron Tail. I didn't even think Electric-types could learn Steel-type moves," AJ said, pointing out one of the Electric mouse's moves.
"Don't worry. It's totally normal to feel surprised when it comes to learning about just what moves a Pokémon can do. Just make sure to do your best with helping Pikachu master the moves he knows, and I have a feeling you two'll go far as a team," Kelsey smiled.
"Chiko," Chikorita agreed with a nod.
'I can only hope you two are right,' AJ thought as she said "Thanks, Kelsey. I guess I've got training jitters. Um, is there anywhere I can take Pikachu so that we can start trying out some of these moves?"
"Of course. If you both would just follow me, I can take you to one of the Training Zones we have here," Kelsey said as she and Chikorita began to walk out of the booth.
"OK," AJ said as she followed Kelsey out of the booth. Looking down at the Electric mouse, the brunette asked "So, Pikachu. You ready to go to the Training Zone?"
'Training Zone'. Just from the sound of this, it sounded like something that would help in his and the human named AJ's quest to get stronger. Nodding as he looked up at the human named AJ, Pikachu said "Pika."
Smiling at how he said that, AJ said "OK then, Pikachu, let's go. The Training Zone awaits."
Well, it would appear as though Pikachu has some pretty good moves in his arsenal. And now comes the fun part. Now, AJ and her potential future Poképartner get to test out his moves. And just how will this go? We shall see about that...next time. Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, warm, and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
