Ch.53 Overeating
POV: Third Person
When Rose was twelve, Mason challenged her to an eating contest. Alberta had shaken her head in bemusement, but still granted Mason's request for the both of them to have unlimited food that night - the entire novice population turned up to watch Hathaway Junior and the redhead go at it. Both had reputations for eating so much, even at that age and for dhampir. And both never backed down from a challenge.
Needless to say, Mason lost (spectacularly), and Rose spent the night throwing up in the toilet. Eddie had been the one to hold her hair back, watching amusedly when she groaned and cursed his friend.
She swore to never participate in an eating contest again.
But then Christian challenged her to out-eat Mathew, one of Lissa's other guardians (who ate probably as much as she did), and that was how she ended puking her guts out in her apartment. Only this time, it's Dimitri taking care of her.
"So what's the lesson learnt today, Roza?" He tied her hair back up into its ponytail after it had become messy only a second ago.
She only whimpered back. "To never -" she hurled again. A few seconds passed with the sounds of her retching - "accept an eating challenge again." She puked again.
He only smiled, wiping her sweat off her forehead.
