Chapter 14: Battle on the Bridge
The man whipped his chain at Mugen, he dodged out of the way and clashed his sword against the man's claws. The man swung his chain horizontally and Mugen hit the ground and ducked beneath it. He spun in his break dancing style and slashed the man up his left calf. The man yelled out in pain and scratched Mugen in the back as he jumped back to his feet.
Mugen Shaved suddenly and appeared behind the man, he swung his sword and slashed through the back of his skull! The man hit the ground and Mugen wiped his sword off on the man's coat.
He sheathed his sword and groaned, "Do I go to the house or the bridge?"
Yasui and Lola exchanged blows and she used Iron Body and kicked him in the gut. Yasui gritted his teeth and swept her leg. Lola stumbled back and dodged out of the way as he kicked at her. Tazuna ran down the bridge and Lola Shaved at Yasui and feigned an attack, as he moved to block her she dashed passed Yasui and after Tazuna!
Lola Shaved in front of Tazuna and he came to a stop, staring at her. Lola moved to strike him down but a gale force of wind blasted her in the back and knocked her forward. Yasui sped up and slammed a kick into Lola's side. Bulma stepped over her unconscious opponent and charged toward them.
A thick mist swallowed the bridge and the surrounding area and blinded everyone as they looked around the bridge. Yasui's feet were currently wheels, he rolled his left wheel back and his right wheel forward and spun rapidly as the mist was dragged into a vortex of air he had created. He stopped spinning and a massive mist tornado flew off the bridge and spun across the water.
Lola appeared behind Yasui and struck him in the back with three Finger Pistols, he staggered forward and she hit him in the back with Electro. Bulma dashed at them and blasted a gale of wind that Lola dodged. Yasui stumbled and fell to his hands and knees, Bulma stood beside him and twirled her baton as she stared at Lola.
"Fang Over Fang!" Zika and Hama bulleted at Lola and struck into the bridge as she skipped back and Bulma blasted wind at her. Lola stumbled back and dodged away from Zika and Hama as they continued their attack.
Lola dodged away from Zika and dashed at Tazuna. Smoke pellets erupted all around Lola and she lost sight of Tazuna, Hama bounded through the smoke and pounced at Lola and struck her down. She hit Hama with Electro and he yelped loudly, she jumped up and used Iron Body as Zika hit her with his Wolf Fang Fist.
Yasui jumped up and sped through the smoke and saw a blue spark flash as Lola hit Zika with Electro. Yasui sped up and spun fast as he slammed a kick into Lola's chest. She jumped back and took a stance as Yasui chased after her. "Fishman Karate: Hundred Brick Fist!" Lola slammed a punch into Yasui's chest and sent him flying backward as he called out in pain.
Bulma twirled her Climate Baton and thunder clouds began to pout from each end of it. The clouds floated up above the bridge as Zika and Hama attacked Lola, she dodged most of their attacks but Zika struck her in the gut with a swift punch and jumped back with Hama. Lola ran Electro through her hand and dashed at Zika. The thunderclouds sparked and Bulma directed electricity to attract to Lola's Electro and struck her with a bolt of lightning! Lola cried out ducked under Zika as he kicked. She jumped back and patted her fur down.
Lola pulled moisture from the air and grabbed the water, she hurled a spear of water that struck Bulma and blasted her back with a powerful force. Zika charged forward and exchanged blows with her as Hama bounded around and pounced at Lola from behind. Lola Shaved behind Zika to dodge Hama and she pierced his lower back with two Finger Pistols! Zika spun around and threw a kick that Lola blocked with her arm and she hit him with Electro as he grabbed his leg. Hama bounded around Zika and slammed into Lola's chest and knocked her back.
Tazuna reached the end of the bridge and ran through the worksite when Kisame appeared in front of him. The Fishman flashed a wicked grin at Tazuna as he pulled his massive blade from his back. The blade had two cut outs on it, a circle close to the tip and a semi-circular one near the handle. He swung his sword horizontally at Tazuna and Mugen appeared beside him and stopped the swing with his own sword! Mugen slid back an inch or two as he blocked the attack.
"Ah ha, who are you?" Kisame asked with a chuckle.
"Mugen, the man who will become the World's Greatest Swordsman." Mugen answered and attacked, clashing blades quickly with the Fishman.
They leapt back away from each other and the Fishman introduced himself to Mugen, "I am Hoshigaki Kisame, the man who will shatter your dream."
Mugen dashed forward and swung wicked slashes that Kisame blocked with his massive blade. He smacked Mugen in the chest with the flat of his sword and knocked him back, Kisame swung his sword down at Mugen and he dodged to the right. The sword struck the ground and Kisame launched himself up and slammed a kick into Mugen's chest. They clashed blades again and Mugen slashed Kisame down his side as they collided.
Rinku sat in the living room working on more ammunition when he heard his mom scream from outside. He charged outside and saw his mom laying on the ground and the two large men that killed his dad stood above her! The two men brandished large swords and chuckled at Rem.
One of them pointed at Rinku, "Should we kill the kid?"
The other man smiled, "Yeah, who cares?"
"No!" Rem cried out, "Please don't hurt my son." She begged.
The two men laughed at Rem and said, "How about this, lady? We drag you into the bedroom and have some fun and we'll leave the kid alone."
Rem burst into tears, "Do whatever you want just don't hurt him."
"Looks like it's your lucky day, kid." One of the men snickered.
Rinku pulled a metal ball from his satchel and pulled it back in his slingshot, "More-More Thirtyfold Strength!" He fired his slingshot and struck one of the men in the chin with the metal ball and sent him reeling back. The other man charged at him and he pulled a special ball from his satchel, "More-More Fortyfold Size!" He fired a chilli pepper ball that expanded and exploded as it struck the man. He screamed as he hit the ground and rolled around in pain.
The other man dashed and swung his sword down at Rinku. Shuhei grabbed him and leapt out of the way and Asuka struck the man in the chest with a solid strike! The man fell on top of the other one and Rinku ran over to Rem.
"Are you okay, mom?" Rinku asked.
Rem hugged him tightly and said, "I'm so happy you're alright!" She cried, "You were so brave."
"Yeah, you were. Good job, Rinku." Asuka said and patted him on the shoulder.
"Asuka, let's get to the bridge." Shuhei said and cracked his knuckles.
"Rinku, c'mon!" Asuka said as he and Shuhei took off running. Rinku grinned at Rem and chased after them.
Lola slammed Hama down to the ground with a swift kick and struck Zika in the chest with two Finger Pistols. Zika stumbled back and she kicked him down. Lola turned and saw Kisame and Mugen in their clash and walked toward them. Bulma and Yasui dashed over and blocked her path.
Yasui sped forward and Bulma blasted a gust of wind that propelled him forward, he spun and sent a savage kick that Lola barely dodged. She struck him in the chest with a swift punch and Bulma blasted her back with a gale of wind. Yasui and Lola exchanged blows and she used Iron Body as he slammed a kick into her side. Bulma dashed up and shocked her with her Climate Baton. Lola kicked her in the chest and jumped away from them.
Bulma twirled her baton in her hands and Yasui dashed at Lola and sent a flurry of kicks at her. Lola dipped away from each strike and Shaved behind him, "Fishman Karate: Forearm Sledge!" She slammed her arm into the back of his neck and sent him hurdling over the side of the bridge and into the water below. Bulma dashed quickly and dove off the bridge after him.
"Fang Over Fang!" Zika and Hama slammed into Lola and knocked her down hard and sent her skipping across the bridge. She jumped up and dodged Hama and exchanged blows with Zika. He struck her in the face with a swift punch and she kicked him in the gut. They clashed in a mad flurry of blows!
Mugen danced around as he dodged Kisame's slashes and he swung his blade into his chest but Kisame prevented any damage from occurring by using Iron Body. He slammed his fist into Mugen's chin and spun around quickly and slashed a vicious horizontal strike. Mugen blocked with his sword and was knocked back as the swords collided. Mugen twirled his sword in his hand and charged at Kisame, they clashed blades and leapt around wildly.
Mugen heard Master Roshi's explanation play through his mind as they collided. "Haki or Ki is a power that lies dormant in all the creatures in the world. Animals and people have a 'presence' or a 'fighting spirit', things that can be felt or exerted. It is a synchronization of mind, body and spirit that can be manifested to aid oneself in battle. For example, Mugen, you could cut through certain things you normally wouldn't be able to.'
Kisame lunged forward and Mugen launched himself up and twisted himself similar to how Zika and Hama do, "Iron Reaper Soul Stealer!" He slashed Kisame across the chest as he twisted and landed on his feet behind him. Kisame spun around and swung his sword quickly at Mugen he ducked beneath the swing and Kisame kicked him in the head with a solid blow.
Mugen skipped back and twirled his sword. This guy is one tough bastard, he thought.
Kisame pulled moisture from the air and covered his arm in water. He swung his arm fiercely and hurled water droplets, the kinetic force causing them to strike Mugen like bullets and knocking him back. Mugen cried out in pain and Kisame dashed at him and swung a vicious horizontal strike at him!
Asuka suddenly hurled his left arm and caught the inside of the cutout near the tip of the massive sword and completely stopped the strike! Mugen stepped forward and swung his sword upward and slashed Kisame in the side. Kisame kicked Mugen back and yanked his sword away from Asuka's arm as the rest of his body Shaved up and slammed a heavy punch into Kisame's chest. Asuka barraged heavy punches at him and Kisame swung his sword and cut Asuka in half at the waist. His upper body floated up and his lower body kicked him hard in the gut.
Lola and Zika exchanged rapid blows and she jabbed him in the chest with a Finger Pistol and kicked him down hard. She moved to finish him off when Shuhei Shaved up and struck her square in the face with a heavy punch! She stumbled back and he slammed another punch into her chest. She blocked his next attack and hit him with Electro, he gritted his teeth and jabbed her in the arm with two Finger Pistols. She jumped back and grabbed her arm, grimacing.
"Electro didn't phase you like the others?" Lola questioned.
"My entire family was tortured with shock therapy and microdoses of poison to build up resistances and immunities." Shuhei grinned, "That won't work on me."
Lola Shaved at him and they exchanged blows rapidly. She kicked him in the side and he struck her in the chest with a series of quick punches. She Shaved around quickly and slammed a kick into his back, she Shaved in front of him and jabbed him three times in the chest with Finger Pistols. He grimaced and slammed a fierce punch into her jaw. She Shaved around and went to strike him in the back of the neck but he ducked under the attack and popped up and slammed an uppercut into her chin.
Shuhei struck Lola in the chest with a fierce kick and struck his fist into her jaw. Lola ducked under a punch and slashed her claws up his chest and kicked him in the genitals! He howled and she struck him in the chest with a Hundred Brick Fist and blasted him back with the savage strike. She Shaved after him and they exchanged a flurry of blows. Shuhei punched her in the right boob and kicked her in the crotch!
They jumped away from each other and Shuhei grinned, "How was that, you bitch?"
Lola pulled moisture from the air and coated her arm with water, she swung her arm and blasted a flurry of Shark Arrows that sliced into Shuhei as they struck into him. Shuhei covered his face and Lola dashed forward and sent a powerful kick into his arms and hit him with Electro, "Even if I can't stun you, it'll still hurt."
Kisame smacked Asuka's lower body with the flat of his sword and spun around, slashing Mugen down his body with a swift slice. Asuka reassembled himself and hurled a Chop-Chop Rocket, Kisame stuck his palm out and deflected the flying arm!
"Haki is like an invisible armor which you can draw on to shield yourself from attacks or make your own attacks stronger. It will even allow you to strike a Devil Fruit user's true body." Master Roshi's words ran through Asuka's mind and he yanked his arm back to him.
"Hidden Mist Jutsu!" Kisame shouted as he drew in moisture and blanketed the surrounding area with a dense mist.
Asuka dashed through the mist toward Mugen and sensed movement coming at him, he jumped to his right and the edge of Kisame's blade slashed his side and actually cut him! Asuka screamed out as he felt the pain of being cut for the first time in a long time. Kisame swung down at Asuka and he Shaved away and launched a Chop-Chop Rocket that missed. He yanked his arm back and heard Mugen and Kisame clashing blades in the mist.
"Rinku, blast the mist away!" Asuka shouted.
"More-More Twentyfold Strength!" Rinku shouted from afar and an explosion rocked the bridge and blasted the mist away and revealed Mugen and Kisame clashing their blades.
Asuka used Iron Body and hurled a Chop-Chop Rocket that Kisame blocked with his sword and he smacked Mugen with the flat side of his blade. Kisame Shaved and kicked Asuka in the chest. He swung his sword and Asuka jumped over the strike and slammed a punch into Kisame's face.
Kisame stabbed his sword down into the bridge and exchanged rapid blows with Asuka. They jumped away from each other and Asuka yanked his arm back. He Shaved at Kisame and they collided in a mad flurry of blows. Kisame kicked Asuka back and struck him in the chest with a savage strike, "Two Hundred Brick Fist!" The blow struck Asuka hard and blasted him back and he hit the ground unconscious!
