Chapter 16: Peacemain
Kisame smacked Asuka with the flat of his blade and swung a fierce horizontal slash that Asuka dodged, he skipped forward and slammed his fist into Kisame's chest. They exchanged rapid blows and Kisame kicked Asuka in the side and slammed his fist into his head. Kisame moved quickly and slammed a savage strike into Asuka's chest, "Two Hundred Brick Fist!" Asuka was blasted back and he landed off balance, coughing blood.
Asuka hurled a Chop-Chop Rocket that struck Kisame in the face and the two collided again, Asuka barraged a flurry of strikes that struck Kisame's gut and Kisame kicked him back. Kisame struck Asuka in the face with a solid punch and kicked him hard in the chest.
Kisame laughed and wiped his mouth, "I haven't had this much fun in a long time but you're getting really annoying."
"Yeah well, I'm just getting started." Asuka said and smiled widely at Kisame.
"What's your name, kid?" Kisame asked suddenly.
"Senju D. Asuka." Asuka answered.
"Heh heh hahahahaha. No wonder you're so tough!" Kisame exclaimed and pointed his sword at Asuka, "Let's finish this up."
Shuhei picked Lola up and laid her down next to Yasui. He looked down the bridge and saw Asuka and Kisame engaged in battle and Zika and Mugen sitting off to the side. Bulma crouched down next to Yasui and dug through her bag for a minute. She pulled out smelling salts and roused Yasui.
Yasui sat up suddenly and shook his head, "What happened?" He looked at Lola.
"She's out cold and Asuka is still fighting the Fishman." Shuhei explained.
"There's a ship." Yasui said.
"What?" Bulma asked.
Yasui pointed and they turned around to see a ship sailing toward the bridge. The ship was flying Gato's Jolly Roger and was fast approaching.
Kisame stabbed his sword down into the bridge again and pulled moisture from the air, he hurled a Water Shot from both hands and they blasted into Asuka wickedly. Kisame hurled more and more Water Shots as Asuka Shaved around to dodge them. Asuka aimed and shot both of his elbows and they struck Kisame in the chest and he yanked his elbows back. Asuka dashed forward and launched a Chop-Chop Rocket that Kisame evaded and he struck Asuka with a swift punch.
They exchanged savage strikes, both of them feeling pain washing over them. Kisame barraged heavy punches into Asuka's chest and struck him in the face with a palm strike. Asuka jumped back and hurled a Chop-Chop Rocket that struck Kisame in the gut and he hurled another that struck him in the face. Kisame charged forward as Asuka yanked his arms back and Kisame kicked him in the chest.
Kisame pulled moisture into his palm and hurled a Water Shot and struck Asuka hard in the chest. Asuka stumbled back and the image of the smiling blonde woman flashed through his mind. He Shaved at Kisame and barraged a mad flurry of savage strikes that rocked Kisame hard and sent him reeling back. Kisame stumbled around and grabbed the hilt of his sword to steady himself.
Bulma, Yasui and Shuhei walked closer to the fight, Lola floating along with them on the Flying Nimbus. Kisame looked around at all of them and smirked.
"Gato is here." Yasui said, aiming his thumb over his shoulder.
Everyone looked down the bridge and saw a large group of people unloading from the ship and walking down the bridge. There were about forty men in total, each of them brandishing weapons and jeering as they marched down the bridge.
At the head of the party was a broad shouldered man with thick brown hair smoking a cigar, presumably Gato. He pointed at Kisame and said, "You stupid god damn Fishman, you can't even handle these kids?!"
Kisame stared menacingly at the man and turned to Asuka, "Ya know, if my employer were to be eliminated then I would no longer have business here in the Wave Chain."
Asuka, Bulma, Shuhei, Yasui, Zika, Mugen and Kisame stood side-by-side as the group of pirates stepped closer to them. All of them were battered and near empty of energy.
"Aww, you're joining the kids' side?" Gato said with a laugh.
"We're gonna kick your ass, Gato!" Asuka called out to him.
Gato and his group laughed and stood about ten meters from the group of misfits standing in their way. Asuka smiled and looked at the group in front of them, ready to keep fighting.
"Yah!" Dozens of voices called at once as the villagers of Onda charged through the worksite and stood with them, Tazuna and Rinku leading them.
"We're not gonna let you bully these islands anymore!" Rinku shouted at Gato.
"Your reign of terror is over!" Tazuna shouted with a nod.
The villagers stood behind the seven of them and Gato looked worried for a moment. Asuka, Shuhei, Mugen and Kisame charged forward at the pirates and the others followed behind them! Kisame and Mugen sliced into pirates as Asuka and Shuhei beat through them. Rinku shot strengthened chilly powder balls into the center of the group of pirates and screams echoed out as the battle erupted.
Gato tried to run away but couldn't get passed the wall of bodies behind him. Asuka charged at him and slammed a vicious punch into the back of his head and knocked him down as a gale of wind blasted the pirates.
The pirates began running away and jumping back onto their ship in a panic as the tide of the battle changed almost instantly. Gato was restrained as the pirates fled and the villagers cheered and laughed joyous laughs as Gato lay defeated.
Kisame strapped his sword to his back and picked Lola up off the nimbus, "We're outta here."
"I want to fight you again." Asuka said to him as he walked away.
"Next time, for sure." Kisame said as he walked off and disappeared into the woods.
Asuka, Mugen and Zika hit the ground unconscious and Yasui and Shuhei laid down beside them. Bulma breathed deeply and jumped onto the nimbus and laid still.
"You kids alright?" Tazuna asked, looking at each of them.
"You all look terrible." Rinku added.
"We need a Doctor." Yasui said.
"Hey, we need Doctors over here!" Rinku shouted suddenly.
There was a murmur from the villagers as another group of people approached the worksite. Five men walked up to the group of them, Bulma looked over at them and smiled widely, "My hero!"
Fawkes the Phoenix and four of his crew stood there in front of them. Fawkes smiled and said, "Pretty lady, you're hurt. Let me take care of you."
"Oooooh yes please!" Bulma squealed with delight.
Fawkes placed his hand on Bulma's stomach and mystical blue flames burst from his hand and spread slowly over her injuries and fixed them up.
Bulma sat up and checked her now healed wounds, "Wow, thank you! Can you heal my friends too?"
"Anything for you, pretty lady." Fawkes gestured to his crew, "Let's fix these guys up."
Fawkes waved his blue flames over the others and his crewmates helped tend to their wounds. They got everyone patched up and they sat on the bridge together as Asuka, Mugen and Zika slept.
"What are you guys doing here?" Bulma asked Fawkes.
"Our Log Pose led us here." Fawkes explained. "By the way, these guys are my friends and crew."
"Yo, I'm Ziggy." A short man with black and white hair said.
"I'm Avdal." A tall man with dark skin said.
"Polnareff." A tall muscular man with white hair said.
"I'm Darby." A slender guy in a brown jacket said.
"Looks like we missed the action." Fawkes said and smiled at Bulma.
"We had it under control." Shuhei said with a grin.
"That's good to hear, looks like you all had fun." Fawkes said with a laugh.
"So what happened back at Domino? You and Captain Scream were going at it." Yasui said.
"Yeah, I traded blows with the loud Captain and made my escape back to our ship. Nothing crazy." Fawkes answered.
"So, are you pirates?" Bulma asked.
Fawks nodded with a smile, "We're the Fossil Pirates."
"Fossil?" Bulma asked, "Like dinosaurs?"
"Exactly like dinosaurs." Ziggy answered with a chuckle.
"We're all dinosaurs." Darby added.
"Uh huh." Bulma scratched her head.
"You see, we've hunted for ancient and mythical Zoan type Devil Fruits. That's our goal as a crew." Fawkes explained.
"So you all ate dinosaur Devil Fruits?" Shuhei asked them.
"My grandpa was a pirate and he and his crew had the Devil Fruits that we currently possess." Fawkes smiled, "They all reincarnated on the same island, lucky for us."
"What do you mean?" Bulma asked, "They reincarnate?"
"That's how Devil Fruit encyclopedias have been written. When a Devil Fruit user dies, their soul moves on but the Devil Fruit comes back into circulation and can be eaten by another person." Fawkes explained, "So I want a crew of dinosaurs." He laughed.
"That's so cool!" Yasui exclaimed.
"That's very interesting." Bulma said.
"We'll let you rest up after your fights." Fawkes said with a smile, "I hope we meet again soon." Fawkes and his crewmates turned and walked away from the worksite.
Later that night, back at Tazuna's house, everyone ate and celebrated their victory. They feasted and drank merrily as the hours passed. Gato was locked in a cell and the marines would arrive for him in a day or two.
"Thank you kids. Thank you so much!" Tazuna called out and raised his glass in the air.
Everyone clinked their glasses together and downed their drinks. They refilled their cups and continued celebrating long into the night. They cleaned up the kitchen and decided to turn in for the night.
Asuka sat down beside Shuhei and smiled, "Join my crew." He said.
Shuhei smiled, "I thought you'd never ask!"
They both laughed and Asuka said, "You're a Misfit for sure."
Shuhei smiled and said, "Being a Peacemain doesn't seem so bad."
"We're sailing off tomorrow morning." Asuka stated, "We gotta leave before the Navy shows up for Gato."
"Where are we heading next?" Shuhei asked.
"Dunno, Bulma has the Log Pose. We'll find out when we leave." Asuka answered.
The morning came and the Misfits packed up their things and ate breakfast in the house.
"Can I join your crew?" Rinku asked with a laugh.
"Give yourself a few years." Asuka said with a smile.
"Where will you go now?" Rem asked them.
"The Log Pose is pointing southeast." Bulma answered, "I'm sure whatever we find will be crazy."
"I wish you kids the best." Tazuna said with a nod, "It's dangerous out there and I hope you don't get into too much trouble"
"No chance of that." Mugen said between bites of his breakfast.
"Trouble will always find us." Zika said and they all laughed.
The Misfits gathered their things and said goodbye to Tazuna, Rem and Rinku. The villagers thanked them as they passed through and they waved at them. They came to the pathway to the secret dock and began walking.
They eventually came back into the secret dock and found the Whore's Pocket Watch waiting for them. The Misfits hopped on board and prepared to sail away from the Wave Chain islands.
"Are we ready to sail off?" Asuka asked.
"Ready whenever, Captain." Bulma said with a smile.
The Misfits finished their preparations and sailed off in a south easterly direction, following the Log Pose.
Somewhere on the Grand Line on the island of Maltese, the Revolutionary Army has set up their secret headquarters. Men and women trained and kept watch all over the island, a man stood watching them from the roof of a ragged looking building.
"Siegfried." A female voice said from behind him.
Siegfried turned around to see his right hand woman standing with a stack of papers in her hand. "Good day, Kalifa." He said.
"We have reports on both Navy and pirate movements and plans." She flipped through her papers and grabbed one, handing it to him.
Siegfried grabbed the paper and looked down at a bounty poster of his son, Senju D. Asuka. Siegfried smiled as he looked at it, "Asuka, good luck on your journey."
