Chapter 24: Showdown
"You attacked a World Noble?!" Yasui exclaimed.
"He shot a kid." Mugen stated.
"But I was identified by the marines." Bulma said slowly, "We could be in trouble."
"We've gotta go tell Master Roshi and Asuka." Zika said quickly.
"Asuka won't wanna leave." Shuhei stated.
The group of them sat in Shuhei's suite, Hisoka's fight had ended and Mugen and Bulma arrived back at the tower. They met up and filled each other in on what happened over the past few hours.
"I bought these in town." Bulma said as she handed Baby Transponder Snails to each of the boys, "I bought a snail for the ship and babies for each of us."
"Good thinking." Shuhei said and tucked his snail into his pocket.
Master Roshi locked his floor as Asuka and Renji walked toward the elevator.
"I can't believe you were hiding a Devil Fruit." Renji said with a smile.
"Back at you." Asuka said and he smiled too.
"We've still got a lot of work to do." Roshi said as he approached them.
The three of them entered the elevator and rode it down to the suites. "Want to come by for some juice?" Asuka asked Renji.
"Sure."
They walked down the hall and entered Asuka's suite to find the other Misfits there waiting for them. Roshi closed the door behind them and said, "What're you kids doing?"
"We have a problem." Zika said and Hama barked.
"Oh?" Asuka said as he poured Renji and himself a glass of juice.
"A Celestial Dragon and a lot of marines are here on the island." Bulma explained.
"They attacked the Celestial Dragon." Yasui stated.
"What?!" Master Roshi exclaimed.
"He shot a kid." Mugen said and shrugged.
"They know we're here too. They identified me." Bulma said slowly.
"Yeah, some cyborg marine named Francis." Mugen said and nodded.
"That's some serious shit." Renji said and took a drink of his juice.
"You're Renji, right?" Shuhei asked.
"Yes, hello, nice to meet you all." Renji said and waved awkwardly.
"What are you gonna do?" Roshi asked the group of them.
"We need to leave the island." Yasui and Bulma said in unison.
"Okay." Asuka said, "We can leave the island after I fight Hisoka."
"I knew you were gonna say that." Shuhei said and chuckled.
"Asuka, you and Bulma both have bounties. You could be spotted." Zika stated.
"And you're known associates." Yasui added.
"The longer you stay, the more danger you'll be in." Roshi said and nodded.
"Listen, I told Renji that we'd give him a lift to Yorknew City. The auction starts in a month and a half so we've got enough time." Asuka grinned and said, "I'll fight Hisoka as soon as possible and then we'll make a break for it and sail outta here."
"Sounds like a plan." Mugen grinned, "I call dibs on that cyborg bastard."
"Here, Asuka, I got you a Baby Transponder Snail." Bulma said and handed it to him.
Asuka smiled and said, "Thanks. I'm gonna go register for my fight with Hisoka."
Asuka made his way down to a receptionist and asked her for the number for Hisoka's suite. She gave him the information and he called the suit on his Baby Transponder Snail.
"Hello." A casual answer came from the snail.
"This is Senju D. Asuka! Let's fight tomorrow!" Asuka shouted.
"Asuka? Tomorrow? Alright, what time?" Hisoka asked.
"Ten in the morning, I have to leave this place as soon as the fight is over." Asuka stated.
"Oh? This will be your last fight at Heaven's Arena, then?"
"For now, do you agree to fight tomorrow at ten?" Asuka asked.
"Yes." Hisoka answered.
Asuka smiled and said, "Alright, see you then."
Commodore Francis fixed himself up and reported to Vice-Admiral Norrington at the docks. Seven Navy ships and a whole army of marines sat stationed on the island acting as Saint Douglas' escort.
"You're sure it was the Nefeltari girl?" Vice-Admiral Norrington asked.
"Oh yeah, no doubt about it." Commodore Francis said and nodded.
"We're sure they haven't escaped the island yet?" Norrington asked.
"Yes sir, we've been checking every ship that leaves." Francis answered.
"Good. Continue the search of the island and I want you to personally sweep the Heaven's Arena tower with your men." Norrington said sternly.
"Yes sir!" Francis bellowed and marched away to gather his men.
Vice-Admiral Norrington smiled and looked up at the night sky. Norrington stood at nine feet tall and had dark brown hair in a ponytail on his head. He had dark skin and a large square face. "Bulma my love, I've come for you." Norrington cackled as he looked up at the sky.
The next morning at ten o'clock, Asuka made his way to Arena E on the two-hundred-and-thirteenth floor. He sat in his waiting area going over the plan in his head. Immediately after his fight he'll meet up with the others and dash to the docks. He was ushered out of the waiting area and walked down the narrow hallway toward the arena.
"With seven victories and zero losses, it's Hisoka!" The audience cheered wildly as Hisoka jumped into the ring. "And with two victories and zero losses, it's Asuka!" The audience cheered a little quieter as Asuka jumped into the ring.
Asuka stared at Hisoka and grinned.
"First to ten points, is this agreeable?" The referee asked.
"Yeah, that's fine." Asuka said and nodded.
"Okay." Hisoka said and smiled slyly.
"Then, let the battle begin!"
Asuka dashed forward and sent a kick at Hisoka's right side and Hisoka blocked with his left arm. Hisoka swung his right hand forward and Asuka ducked beneath the strike and tried to sweep Hisoka's legs out. Hisoka leapt above his leg and kicked outward at Asuka's head; he stepped out of the way and lunged at Hisoka as he landed on his feet.
They exchanged a flurry of heavy blows and Hisoka slammed a punch into Asuka's chest. Asuka skipped back as the referee shouted, "Clean hit! Point Hisoka!"
Hisoka smiled widely and Asuka Shaved forward and used Iron Body as he barraged punches that Hisoka blocked with his hands. Hisoka jabbed Asuka in the chest with four Finger Pistols to no effect! Hisoka was momentarily confused and Asuka slammed an uppercut into his chin.
Hiskoka stumbled back a few steps and smiled devilishly at Asuka. "Critical hit! Two points to Asuka!" The referee shouted.
Asuka smiled and put his fists up as he stared at Hisoka. Shuhei's words replayed in his mind, "He can control gum or something. Be careful."
Hisoka wiped blood from his lip and licked it off his hand. He pointed his finger at Asuka and a rope of pink gum shot at him. Asuka dodged to his right and Shaved at Hisoka, he skipped up and slammed a savage strike into Hisoka's chest and slammed a kick into his side. He barraged a flurry of punches that rocked Hisoka back hard.
"Critical hit! Two points to Asuka!" The referee called out.
Hisoka caught Asuka's wrist and struck him in the gut with a heavy strike. Asuka skipped back and coughed, pink gum was wrapped around his wrist and stretched back to Hisoka's fingertip.
"Critical hit! Two points to Hisoka!"
Hisoka grinned and yanked his hand back and Asuka slid across the arena towards Hisoka. Asuka split his arm below the gum and it shot at Hisoka, he caught the hand and looked at Asuka in amazement. Asuka dashed forward and slammed his fist into Hisoka's chin. Hisoka kicked Asuka in the side and knocked him back.
"Clean hit, both fighters!" The referee shouted.
Hisoka threw Asuka's hand on the ground and the gum struck it in place. He made a circle with his fingers and blew pink and blue bubbles through it, they floated slowly toward Asuka. Asuka dashed and Shaved around the bubbles and Hisoka snapped his fingers, the bubbles popped and the pink ones flung gum around as the blue ones erupted with the force of a grenade!
"Clean hit! Point Hisoka!"
Asuka's upper body zoomed through the air and his lower body was glued in place by the gum. He launched a Chop-Chop Rocket that struck Hisoka in the chest, he yanked his arm back and Hisoka struck him in the chest with his Bungee Gum.
"Clean hit! Point Asuka!"
Hisoka yanked Asuka's upper body forward and Shaved quickly, he slammed a kick into Asuka's back and he struck the ground hard.
"Critical hit and a down! Three points to Hisoka!"
Asuka floated up off the ground and Hisoka landed beside him and kicked him in the chest, he floated back and Hisoka yanked him back and punched him hard in the forehead. Asuka hit the ground again and groaned loudly.
"Critical hit and a down! The winner is Hisoka!" The referee shouted and the audience erupted into cheers and screams.
Hisoka undid his gum and Asuka reassembled himself. He breathed heavily as Hisoka stared down at him with a grin on his face. "I hope we meet again, Asuka." Hisoka said and turned around to walk away.
"We will!" Asuka called after him.
Hisoka jumped out of the ring and looked over his shoulder, "Next time, we'll fight in the real world with no rules."
Asuka turned and saw eight marines march out of the narrow hallway and toward the arena. Asuka sighed and stared at them as they marched forward. "Senju D. Asuka, you are under arrest!"
Asuka hopped out of the ring and smiled at the marines, "You'd better get out of my way."
Master Roshi, Mugen, Zika and Hama sat on one side of the stadium and Shuhei, Bulma, Yasui and Renji sat on the other side. They all stood up quickly as the marines marched toward the arena. Units of marines stood at every exit of the stadium and they all moved into action as Asuka clashed against the eight marines near the arena.
Zika and Hama bounded at three marines and struck them down with their Fang Over Fang. Roshi smacked down marines with his staff and Mugen dashed down the steps toward the arena. People in the audience began to panic as the marines and the Misfits clashed.
Bulma blasted marines down with a gale of wind and dashed toward an exit as more marines charged into the stadium. Yasui zoomed up the steps and slammed heavy kicks into the marines as Renji struck them down with his staff. Gunshots rang out and screams echoed across the stadium as people began running toward the exits.
Asuka barraged heavy punches at the marines and struck them down swiftly. He looked around the stadium and saw Mugen lead over the wall and land beside him. They dashed down the narrow hallway to the waiting area and called the elevator. They entered the elevator and rode it down.
They stepped out on the two hundredth floor and ran out into the large hallway. A dozen marines charged at the duo and they clashed against them. Asuka launched Chop-Chop Rockets that struck into the marines as Mugen cut others down with swift strikes of his sword. The duo ripped through the marines and ran down the hallway toward the elevators as more marines charged at them.
Roshi, Zika and Hama charged through marines as other people panicked and ran with them. Roshi smacked down two marines and opened an elevator. He jumped in with Zika and Hama and quickly closed the doors. They pressed the button and rode down to the two hundredth floor.
They charged out to find Asuka and Mugen fighting marines near the elevators. Roshi Shaved up to three marines and struck them down with heavy punches and his staff. Zika and Hama slammed into others as Asuka and Mugen crushed through the last of the marines in the area.
"Where are the others?" Mugen asked.
"Dunno." Zika responded.
"Hold the floor until they get here!" Asuka shouted as groups of marines charged at them from either side.
Bulma, Renji and Yasui dashed down the stairs as a flood of people charged behind them. Four marines ran up the steps toward the trio and Bulma blasted them down with a powerful gust of wind. They rushed down the stairs and bursted through the doors on the two hundredth floor.
Renji and Yasui slammed crushing blows into marines near the stairs and they aimed their guns at the trio. Bulma blasted the marines back with a gust of wind and the trio dashed down the wide hallway toward the elevators. They met up with the others and helped beat down the remaining marines in the hall. They called two elevators and waited for them to arrive.
Master Roshi, Bulma, Asuka and Mugen stepped into one elevator as Shuhei, Renji, Yasui, Zika and Hama stepped into the other as they arrived and opened up. Both groups pressed the button for the lobby and the elevators closed and descended.
The elevators opened and the group of them rushed out into the lobby and were faced by twenty armed marines. Yasui, Shuhei, Zika and Hama launched forward and slammed into the marines as Bulma blasted gales of wind at them. Asuka and Mugen dashed forward and struck down marines with swift strikes. The group of them stomped through the marines in the lobby and ran outside.
Outside waiting for them were just over fifty marines brandishing guns and swords. They pointed their weapons at the group as they dashed out of the tower and stopped on the front steps. The group of them stared out at the marines and thought about their next move.
"Stay put." Master Roshi told them and began walking toward the Navy war party.
"Stop right there!" A marine shouted at Roshi.
There was a sudden pressure in the air and wind blew wildly in every direction as a majority of the surrounding marines foamed at the mouth and fell to the ground unconscious.
"Whoa!" Asuka laughed and grinned. "Let's go!"
The marines that were still standing aimed their guns and fired at the Misfits as they charged forward. Yasui zoomed at two marines and spun rapidly, kicking both of them down with savage kicks. Asuka launched Chop-Chop Rockets and struck marines down as he dashed forward.
Renji and Roshi charged onward with the Misfits as they headed toward the southwest portion of the ringed port. More marines appeared to clash against them as they charged and the Misfits fought against them. Explosions rocked the ground around them and stone rubble flew all around. Commodore Francis appeared in the street with another unit of marines behind him.
"Stop right there you little shits!" Commodore Francis shouted at them.
Asuka cracked his knuckles and took a few steps forward but Mugen stopped him and said, "I called dibs on him."
"What?" Asuka cocked his head to the side. "Hm. I thought you called dibs on the cyborg?"
"He is a cyborg, idiot." Mugen stated.
"He doesn't look like a cyborg." Asuka said.
"He has metal arms." Yasui pointed at Francis.
"Not the time, guys." Bulma scolded them.
"You can all give up and come easily or die in the street like dogs." Commodore Francis said to the group of them.
"Listen up asshole, we don't care what you have to say." Mugen said and pointed his sword at the Commodore, "I'm gonna cut you down while my friends get out of here."
Commodore Francis laughed and aimed his right arm at Mugen and fired a machine gun from his wrist. Mugen deflected bullets and skipped around quickly as Commodore Francis fired at him.
Asuka, Shuhei, Renji, Yasui, Bulma, Roshi, Zika and Hama dashed onward and attacked the unit of marines in the street as Mugen and Commodore Francis clashed behind them.
