Chapter 26: Dirty Deeds
Five days after escaping the chaos at the docks of Heaven's Arena, the Misfits continued sailing north and east on their damaged ship. The marines had done a number on the Whore's Pocket Watch and the ship needed repairs. Yasui had fixed up what he could with the materials at hand but they needed to stop somewhere for supplies.
"How do we plan on getting to Yorknew City?" Shuhei asked.
Asuka shrugged and said, "We'll ask for directions on the next island."
"Yorknew City is on an island somewhat nearby and we have over a month until the auction begins." Renji said, "We have time."
"When does the auction start?" Zika asked.
"The newspaper said September twentieth." Yasui answered as he climbed down from the crow's nest. "There's an island coming up to the north and east."
Bulma stared off and spotted the island. She aimed the ship for the island and they sailed quickly toward it. As they approached the island they saw a Navy base on the southeastern shore, they sailed around the west side of the island and docked away from the marines. The dock had a large sign that read 'Welcome to Karakura Town!'.
"I need to go buy stuff to fix up the Whore." Yasui said to the others.
"We'll come with you." Zika said with a smile and Hama barked happily.
"I'm gonna hit a bar." Mugen said with a grin.
"I'm in." Renji said.
"Me too." Asuka said with a smile.
"I think I'm gonna stay on the ship and take a shower." Bulma said and walked below deck.
"Well then, I'll stay here until she's done." Shuhei said and yawned.
"What are you gonna peek at her in the shower?" Asuka asked and laughed.
"What? No!" Shuhei's cheeks flushed, "I'm just gonna guard the ship. Bulma is wanted by the World Government after all."
"Yeah, sure." The boys chuckled and hopped off the ship.
"Assholes." Shuhei muttered to himself.
Across Karakura Town in a large white mansion, a unit of marines were escorted inside by thugs in black clothes. The thugs led the marines up three flights of stairs and to an office. The thugs led the marines inside the office and stood against the wall as the marines approached a desk with a large chair behind it.
The chair spun around and revealed a grinning man with golden blond hair. He wore fine blue clothes and had a cigar in his mouth, "Hello, Ensign Holf. What do you have for me?" The man asked.
Ensign Holf pulled a stack of papers from his satchel and placed them on the desk, "These individuals may arrive on this island and we'd like your men to keep an eye out for them, Teru sir."
Teru laughed and said, "Sure thing. I won't have any trouble makers on my island."
"Excellent, sir, thank you." Ensign Holf said slowly.
Teru opened a drawer and pulled out an envelope, he handed it to Holf and said, "Here's the hush money for you boys."
Ensign Holf took the money awkwardly and left the mansions with his marines, the thugs showing them out.
Teru puffed on his cigar and chuckled as he looked down at the papers the Ensign had given him. They were bounty posters, seven of them. He carefully flipped through and read them.
Senju D. Asuka, Dead or Alive. 30,000,000 Beli Bounty.
Nefeltari Bulma, Only Alive. 30,000,000 Beli Bounty.
"Vagabond" Mugen, Dead or Alive. 20,000,000 Beli Bounty.
Zoldyk Shuhei, Dead or Alive. 15,000,000 Beli Bounty.
Inuzuka Zika, Dead or Alive. 10,000,000 Beli Bounty.
Yasui, Dead or Alive. 10,000,000 Beli Bounty.
Kurta Renji, Dead or Alive. 10,000,000 Beli Bounty.
"Hey! I recognize some of these kids from Heaven's Arena." Teru laughed and puffed on his cigar, "I watched their fights on my Projector Snail." He stood up and grabbed all of the bounty posters, he walked out of his office laughing.
Yasui, Zika and Hama walked down the street hauling their supplies on the Flying Nimbus. They both were rich after Heaven's Arena so they were able to buy more than enough lumber, nails and other necessities. They continued walking when they heard shouts and gunshots echo out.
They ran around the corner and saw a group of marines getting their asses kicked by a weird looking man. The man wore a black and orange helmet with a black visor on it as well as a flowing red cape and a green ki over a black bodysuit. He struck down the marines with swift strikes and dashed down an alley as more marines arrived on the scene.
"What the hell?" Zika asked as the marines chased after the man.
"As long as the marines aren't chasing us, I don't care." Yasui said and shrugged.
"Fair enough."
Asuka, Mugen and Renji sat at a table in a bar drinking. Mugen had grog. Asuka had juice. And Renji had wine. They sat at their table as a large man loudly ate at the table beside them, a pile of food in front of him.
Asuka stood up from the table and walked over to the bar. "Another juice, please. Oh, and how do I get to Yorknew City?"
The bartender placed a juice on the bar and asked, "What do you want to go there for?"
"It's the next stop on the adventure." Asuka said with a smile and took a drink of his juice.
The bartender glanced at the large man loudly eating and then back to Asuka, "He may be able to help you."
Asuka turned around and walked over to the large man, "Excuse me."
The man glanced at Asuka and kept eating. "Wwhut?" He asked with a mouth full of food.
"I need directions to Yorknew City." Asuka said simply.
The man swallowed and said, "My big brother has an Eternal Pose to get there."
"Can I have it?" Asuka asked.
"No." The man said and continued eating loudly.
A group of marines walked into the bar and looked around. They spotted the trio and said, "There they are!"
"Huh?" Mugen sighed.
"You three! You're all under arrest!" A marine shouted.
"Take this outside!" The bartender shouted.
Asuka Shaved at the marines and struck one hard through the door, he dashed outside and the marines followed after him. Mugen and Renji stood up and finished their drinks. They dashed outside and slammed into the marines.
The trio beat them down easily enough and stood in the street as thugs in black clothes brandishing weapons ran at them. The large man walked out of the bar and picked up the swords and guns from the fallen marines. He munched on the weapons and ate them smoothly.
"What the fuck?!" Mugen exclaimed.
Renji pulled out his staff and struck down two of the thugs as Asuka struck another one down with a Chop-Chop Rocket. The trio clashed against the thugs and the large man shouted, "Stop!"
The trio and the thugs looked at him and the thugs ran away. The large man's left hand morphed so his fingers became swords and his right hand turned into five pistol barrels. He aimed his right arm and blasted bullets at the trio as they jumped around dodging. Mugen skipped at the man and swung his sword up and he blocked with his sword hand. They clashed their blades and Asuka struck the man in the chin with a Chop-Chop Rocket. Renji used his staff to pole vault up in the air and he struck the man in the head with a heavy kick.
The man jumped back and a cannon protruded from his chest, he fired his chest cannon and it blasted the ground between the three boys and sent them sprawling. The thugs who ran away returned with reinforcements and charged at the trio as they jumped up on their feet.
Shuhei stood on the deck looking out at the dock and the town. He yawned and heard a door open and close behind him. He turned around to see Bulma walking toward him. She wore black tights and a pink jacket with a yellow shirt underneath.
"Wanna go into town?" She asked him.
"Sure." Shuhei said and nodded.
"I need to buy some more DynoCaps." Bulma said and jumped off the ship and onto the dock.
Shuhei followed after her and they walked across the dock and down the street. They heard gunshots off in the distance and ignored them as they went on their way.
Yasui, Zika and Hama returned to the ship and found nobody there. Yasui got to work repairing the ship and Zika helped him as much as he could. Hama barked and growled as they worked and the duo spun around to see a unit of marines approaching them.
"Yasui. Zika." The marine at their head said, "You're under arrest."
"For what?" Zika asked.
"You're wanted pirates." The marine said and nodded, "You're aiding and abetting Nefeltari Bulma."
"We're wanted?" Yasui asked and cocked his head to the side.
"Like we have bounties?" Zika asked.
"Yes. Like I said, you're wanted."
"But why? We haven't done anything too crazy, have we?" Yasui asked Zika.
Zika shrugged.
The marines stepped closer to them and Yasui struck a swift kick into the jaw of a marine and dropped him. Zika and Hama pounced at the marines and a skirmish broke out on the dock.
Mugen and the large man clashed their blades together and the cannon in the man's chest fired, Mugen ducked below the cannonball and it erupted into a crowd of thugs. Asuka and Renji struck down thugs and turned to help Mugen. The large man fired his pistol fingers and chest cannon as the trio dodged around in the street.
Asuka launched a Chop-Chop Rocket and struck the man in the chin and Mugen slashed him up the side. Asuka yanked his arm back as Renji extended his Power Pole and he struck the man in the chest with it. The man stumbled back and fell on his ass.
"Let's get out of here!" Renji called out, "There are more coming this way!"
Crowds of thugs and marines ran down either end of the street toward them. Asuka looked around at them and the large man jumped back up to his feet. The large man glared at the trio and blasted his cannon at them, they leapt away as it erupted against the ground. The thugs and marines came to a stop and aimed their weapons at the trio.
"I'm gonna kill these guys!" The large man screamed.
"Squash em, Duey!" The thugs called out and laughed.
Asuka Shaved and slammed a savage strike into Duey's stomach, "Stay down!"
Duey hit the ground with a satisfying thud and his body returned to normal. The marines and thugs raised their guns and fired at the trio as they dashed to the side and down an alley. The marines chased after them as the thugs checked on Duey, who jumped up to his feet and shook his head violently.
Bulma and Shuhei walked down a street together after purchasing more DynoCaps. Bulma's Baby Transponder Snail began ringing and she answered, "Hello?"
"Bulma, it's Zika. We just got attacked by marines at the dock. You guys be careful out there." Came the response.
"There's something weird going on." Bulma said through the snail, "There have been lots of shouts and gunshots."
Six thugs in black clothes stood in the middle of the street and blocked the duo's path as they walked. "Let me call you back." Bulma hung up the call and stared at the thugs.
Shuhei suddenly turned around and ducked beneath a savage kick from a man in a hybrid hawk form! The birdman flapped his wings and landed in the street beside the thugs.
"Who the hell are you?" Shuhei asked angrily.
"I am Shin Huey." The birdman said with a smile, "And you're fresh meat."
Bulma pulled out her Climate Baton and belated a gale of wind that the birdman, Huey, flew over and the thugs were blasted back. Huey sliced through the air and exchanged a flurry of blows with Shuhei. Huey latched his feet onto Shuhei and flapped off wickedly, flying away from Bulma as the thugs jumped up to their feet.
The thugs charged at Bulma and she twirled her baton, shooting hot and cold bubbles that collided and erupted all around them. More thugs arrived when a man wearing a black and orange helmet with a black visor on it and; a flowing red cape and a green ki over a black bodysuit underneath. The man Shaved at the thugs and struck them down with a flurry of furious blows.
The man ran over to Bulma and grabbed her by the hand, "Come with me." He said as he pulled Bulma down an alley.
"Who are you?" She asked as they ran.
"I'm the Great Saiyaman!" He answered pridefully.
He led her to a tall red building and they snuck inside. She followed him up the stairs to a room that appeared to be his lair or home base.
"You and your friends are in danger." Great Saiyaman informed Bulma.
"We always are." Bulma said and sighed.
He handed her a stack of bounty posters and Bulma flipped through them to see that the whole crew and Renji were wanted! She stared at the papers and said, "They seem to want us very badly."
"Listen, the marines here are in league with a crime family that runs Karakura Town. I've been trying to take them down and I could use your help while you're here." Great Saiyaman said and nodded.
"The marines have been chasing me for a long time." Bulma said and sighed, "I wouldn't be surprised if my friends have already picked a fight with the crime family." Bulma nodded and said, "Some birdman attacked me and Shuhei and carried Shuhei away."
"Huey the Hawk?" Great Saiyaman asked.
Bulma nodded.
Yasui continued working on the Whore as Zika and Hama watched the unconscious marines on the dock. They sat there waiting to hear back from the others when Hama barked.
"Yasui." Zika said.
Yasui turned around to see thugs in black clothes approaching them. The man leading the thugs stood over six feet tall and had a barrel chest. His hair and eyes were black and he smiled as he looked at them.
"Can we help you?" Zika asked.
"My name is Shin Luey, I'm here to capture you two." The barrel chested man said.
"Oh." Yasui said as he popped his back.
"Let's go then." Zika said and smiled.
