Ceci Masters remained blissfully ignorant of the crisis going on in the world beyond her own. Currently, the fetching teen was getting herself ready for her double date.

According to Denise, they're five rules to being perfect for a date. One: being squeaky clean. Two: the perfect outfit. Three: hair, nails, and makeup. 4. perfume. Five: Already have conversation topics in mind.

She'd already completed numbers one-three. Selecting an alluring aroma wasn't easy. She'd never been one to care about fragrances. First, however, Denise insisted one had to heighten their natural pheromones.

Ceci only had three fragrances to select from. Given her mother didn't possess any perfume either. Maddie Masters wasn't big into cosmetics. Ultimately the teenage half-ghost picked lavender. Ceci wasn't even worried regarding conversations. Her favorite subjects were, of course, schoolwork, business, and current events.

She then glanced at herself in the mirror. She'd selected a low-cut raspberry top, skinny jeans, and wedge sandals. In addition, she'd decided on silver hoops, a simple chain, and a single bangle for accessories—all in all, a good look.

As she descended the stairs, she could make out Denise confirming with her parents the details of their double date. She went to the ground floor to see Denise in her date outfit.

She'd chosen a tangerine crop top with a chartreuse skort with matching ankle boots. Evelyn had done an ideal job with the cheerleader's beauty treatment. The cheerleader then clicked off her smartphone before noticing her girlfriend's ensemble. "Nicely done, Ceci. I'm sure you'll be turning Cory's head tonight."

Her friend frowned a bit. "Denise, do not try to kid me. I know how you love to play matchmaker. You insisted on this double date because you hope I'll fall for Cory, thus putting Diego out of my mind, and don't deny it either! Whenever it comes to matchmaking, you can't deceive me. So admit it already," Ceci said in an annoyed tone.

Denise flushed for a second, then replied. "Okay, you're right, girlfriend. But you've got to get that boy out of your mind. Did you forget how he wants to obliterate your other half? Not the smartest move to be crushing on your sworn enemy. So let's get going. The twins will be here in ten minutes!"

She sighed. "Fine, let me say goodbye to my parents, then we can leave," as she sprinted to the kitchen. Inside the kitchen, she uncovered her mother doing the dishes while her father read the newspaper.

"Hey, Mom, Dad. I'm heading out on my double date. You two going to be alright?"

Maddie turned to look at her eldest child. "We'll be fine. The question is will you be fine?"

"Mom! I already know your guys' rules for my dating life. I've not forgotten any of them! As I told you, we're going to Waverly Gyros and then to the drive-in. We'll be back by ten, I promise. I already know no funny business. I just wanted to let you know that you don't need to worry. Also, Mom, you've instructed me in self-defense. So I know how to defend myself if need be. So don't stress!"

"Alright, but call us if you need anything or if the movie runs late," her mother replied before returning to the dishes.

"Yes, I promise. See you guys later!" as she headed out the door. But instead, she found Denise outside as the Martin twins pulled up in their turquoise 1969 Pontiac GTO. The twins' father was a car guy. Therefore, it wasn't uncommon for the twins to have classically restored automobiles.

Then the twins got out, and they're both drop-dead gorgeous. They're of medium height and build. They'd thick curly caramel hair with enormous amber eyes, and their skin was the color of brown sugar. Each twin had a different dress style.

The older twin Randy was dressed in a faded black T-shirt with the emblem for "Goldie and the Bears" (This world's favorite band.) Jeans with the ripped look, leather ankle boots. His younger brother Cory? He wore a long-sleeved navy blue shirt, khakis, and dress shoes.

Each of them held out a single pink rose for their dates. The girls were flattered by the gesture. Then they got in the car before driving to the local teen hangout. As they drove, they heard a deafening rumble. Plus, the ground trembled, too, for a few moments. They stopped the car to look around, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky. So it wasn't thunder, and Wisconsin isn't known for tremors.

Putting it out of their mind, they proceeded on with their date. The gyros were fine, but it wasn't till they got to the movies that things turned sour. They see the latest Marvel film. Everything went well, and then a wisp of magenta escaped Ceci's lips. Oh, no! Not now!

Five seconds later, there was screaming. People were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The twins immediately seized their dates' hands and dragged them.

Ceci made her hand intangible. The twins would think she'd gotten lost in the stampede of people. Instead, she found a quiet corner behind the snack bar. Then yelled, "Spirit Up!"

Ceci Masters transformed into Ceci Spirit. Flying up, she started scanning the location for which of her ghostly foes had ruined her double date. Then she was startled that it seemed her otherworldly enemy, the Huntress, was also on a date!

The Huntress looked like a supernatural version of Laura Croft from Tomb Raider. Except for her bone-white skin, luminous orange flaming hair and eyes, and her tank top and shorts were black and neon green. Other then that? She was a perfect match. However, her motorcycle was a carbon copy of Ghost Rider's. The same one Nick Cage drove in the movie of the same name.

The other ghost Huntress was with she'd never seen before. There were a few similarities between them. He, too, looked like a hunter with flaming hair. Only his body was metal, and he'd used a jet pack.

"Oh great! Why do I have to deal with a pair of ghosts out on a date night?!" she moaned loudly before heading into battle. She planned to do her usual thing of utilizing her ecto-manipulation to conjure something up to suck them into the clicker. Then hopefully get back to her date. However, given she hadn't seen the male hunter before, she was caught off guard by his fighting style.

"Well, another halfa, I can put their pelt on my wall!" snickered the male ghost.

"Not so fast, lover boy. I know you're new to this town. But be careful of this one. She's extremely skilled at illusions," cautioned Huntress as she revved her bike.

"Ha! Give me one second," as he typed something into a PDA on his wrist. There was a computer sound, and he smiled darkly. "Okay, now my suit can see through the light spectrum! That includes even ghostly energies! So I'll be able to tell what's fake and real!"

"Excellent, Skulker, but we split the spoils. This is still my hunting grounds!" hissed Huntress. However, she did give him a sickly romantic look as she said that. He also gazed lovingly at her before answering.

"Fine, babe! I'm delighted to find the perfect woman finally. Who knew falling through a black hole would lead to such a dream date?"

Spirit didn't like anything she was hearing. She did attempt her standard tactics, but nothing worked. Not with this 'Skulker' guy, at least. He also seemed too familiar with hunting half ghosts.

Suddenly she heard a second jet pack as Diego, aka The Blue Baron, came in. Great! Now things had gotten even worse! Oh! Why did her crush have to be a ghost hunter?!

It quickly became unmistakable that he was out of his league with the unknown hunter! Ceci decided their best chance was to team up. The question was, how? He hated her guts. Still, she flew over to him. "Get away from me, freak! I'm saving you for later!" snapped the Blue Baron angrily.

"Listen to me! There is no way either of us can overpower them by ourselves. However, if we work together, we can."

"Are you out of what is left of your human mind?! I won't work with ghosts! You're all so disgusting!"

Ceci decided to play the one card she could to get him to cooperate. "If we don't work together, who do you think those two will pursue next? They'll likely go over to the Masters home. I'm pretty confident the new dude would hurt children. I can only imagine how they'd butcher them."

If she'd x-ray vision, she'd known his expression morphed into pure terror. Because she already knew Diego was crushing on her as much as she crushed on him! So the idea that two lethal hunters could honestly kill her? It was enough to persuade him to call a truce long enough to vanquish the two hunters.

Working together, they eventually got rid of the hunters. But the banter they'd shared throughout the battle left Ceci uneasy. Again, those two had too much in common. This Skulker undoubtedly had hunted a half-ghost before. Furthermore, he'd mentioned something regarding a black hole. Combine that with the peculiar noise and earth-shaking? Something wasn't right!

Either way, it'd have to wait! She had to find her date! She only hoped he'd believe her excuse! She returned to her human form before heading out to find the twins and Denise. So much for a ghost-free weekend!
