Chapter 46: Asuka Vs. Wakaba
Asuka dodged a slash from Wakaba's Straw Sword and leapt away as she sent a swift kick at him. Asuka opened his eyes and grinned at Wakaba. They stared each other down and dashed, clashing wickedly in the street.
Wakaba blocked a kick and swung her Straw Sword down at Asuka, he evaded the swing and struck Wakaba with a swift punch. She growled and kicked Asuka in the gut, he stumbled back and ducked beneath a swing of her blade. Asuka sprang up and headbutted Wakaba in the chin, knocking her back hard.
Asuka spun around in the air and slammed a kick down on the top of Wakaba's head! She fell to her knees as he landed on his feet and Asuka lunged at Wakaba from behind. Wakaba swung her right arm back and slashed Asuka across his stomach as he jabbed a Finger Pistol into the back of her head.
"Life Minus." Another voodoo doll emerged from Wakaba's back and fell to the ground as Asuka Shaved away from her. Wakaba stood up and turned around slowly, an evil smile on her face.
Wakaba Shaved suddenly and struck Asuka square in the nose with a powerful punch. He staggered back and quickly ducked under Wakaba's Straw Sword as she lunged at him. Something else snapped, this time in the right hemisphere of Asuka's brain. His fatigue disappeared as a wave of energy rushed through him.
Asuka Shaved behind Wakaba and struck a barrage of savage punches that sent her staggering forward. She spun around quickly and hurled a flying slash at Asuka, he Shaved again and slammed a powerful punch into Wakaba's chest. The air was knocked out of Wakaba's lungs and Asuka barraged swift punches into her stomach and chest.
Wakaba Shaved away from Asuka as a voodoo doll emerged from her stomach and fell to the ground. Asuka Shaved and appeared beside Wakaba, he sent a swift kick flying at her head and she ducked beneath the attack. Wakaba's left fist was covered with a black sheen and she slammed a savage punch into Asuka's stomach!
Asuka coughed up blood as he was lifted off the ground and Wakaba leapt up after him. She appeared behind Asuka and slashed him down his back, Asuka cried out and Wakaba sent him crashing into the ground with a swift kick.
As Wakaba lunged at Asuka and swung her Straw Sword downward, Asuka rolled to his right and jumped up to his feet. "Chop-Chop Rocket!" He sent his left fist flying at Wakaba and she ducked away from it. Asuka Shaved behind Wakaba and jabbed a Finger Pistol that she dodged and sent a Tempest Kick flying at Asuka.
He ducked beneath the flying slash and directed his flying arm at Wakaba. The Chop-Chop Rocket flew at Wakaba from behind and she dodged to her left and avoided it. Asuka reattached his arm and dashed at Wakaba.
They exchanged a quick flurry of blows and Wakaba slashed Asuka across the chest as he slammed a kick into her left side.
Asuka skipped away from Wakaba and breathed heavily. "I'm starting to understand your ability."
She Shaved behind him and swung her Straw Sword, Asuka ducked beneath the slash and leapt away from Wakaba. She glared at him and said, "You're a quick little bastard. But I'll cut you down soon."
Asuka Shaved around and lunged at Wakaba from her left. She spun and swung her Straw Sword as he ducked down and pointed a finger up at her, "Chop-Chop Finger Dartgun!" Asuka's left finger flew from his hand and pierced Wakaba's left cheek!
A voodoo doll emerged from the side of Wakaba's head and fell to the ground as Asuka skipped back and yanked his finger back to his hand. Wakaba glared at Asuka and began laughing as dozens of armed goons appeared in the street.
"Fill him with holes!" Wakaba bellowed and pointed at Asuka. The goons aimed their guns at Asuka and fired a hail of bullets at him!
"Tornado Tempo!" Bulma appeared beside Asuka on the Flying Nimbus and blasted a twisting current of air that formed into a tornado in the street! The tornado threw the bullets in random trajectories, ripping into the goons and ricocheting off of concrete. Bulma popped open a DynoCap and a riot-shield appeared in her hand.
Bulma shielded herself and Asuka from the bullets as the tornado twisted down the street and tossed goons into buildings as it slowly faded away. Asuka grinned and said, "Thanks, Bulma."
"What's up with this chick?" Bulma asked.
"She can produce and control straw. And she can shrug off death and major injuries by using voodoo dolls." Asuka said as he stared down the street at Wakaba.
"Voodoo dolls?"
"I haven't figured it out yet, not entirely." Asuka admitted and sighed, "She's used five of them so far."
"Got it." Bulma dropped the riot-shield and flew into the air on the nimbus.
Wakaba and Asuka Shaved down the street at each other and met in a flurry of heavy blows. Asuka dodged several swings of Wakaba's blade and struck her in the jaw with a powerful punch.
They leapt around and exchanged rapid blows as storm clouds began forming above them. Asuka kicked Wakaba in the side and she jabbed a Finger Pistol into his abdomen. He gritted his teeth and dodged Wakaba's Straw Sword as a bolt of lightning struck down into her chest!
Wakaba screamed and a flaming voodoo doll fell from her chest and hit the ground. Asuka skipped away from her and caught his breath as Wakaba glared up at Bulma. The straw fell from Wakaba and piled on the ground around her. She grinned maliciously and straw began pouring from her body and knitting together to form a gigantic scarecrow behind her!
The giant scarecrow had long white hair and glowing red eyes. Wakaba waved her arms and the scarecrow mirrored her movements, waving its arms and hurling a rain of large iron needles from its fingers.
Asuka dodged around on the ground as Bulma zoomed between nails on her nimbus. Bulma charged a Thunderball on the end of her Climate Baton and hurled it at the massive scarecrow. Wakaba and the scarecrow glowed pink and the scarecrow moved at a tremendous speed. Asuka watched as the scarecrow bulleted forward and backhanded Bulma out of the air!
The Flying Nimbus erupted and slowly began reforming as Bulma flew towards the ground, unconscious from the scarecrow's devastating blow. Asuka leapt through the air and caught Bulma before she hit the ground.
He landed on his feet and held her tightly, "Bulma?!"
Bulma's eyes had rolled back and blood leaked from her mouth and nose. She spasmed slightly and coughed as Asuka held her.
Wakaba cackled and waved her arms again, the scarecrow raining more nails down at the duo in the street. Asuka bobbed and weaved between nails as he dashed down the street away from Wakaba.
"You coward!" Wakaba bellowed and laughed. "You can't escape me!"
Rage bubbled throughout Asuka's entire body as he dashed down the street with Bulma in his arms. The scarecrow sped through the air at Asuka and attacked him from above. He Shaved to his left and dodged the scarecrow as his rage erupted from his body.
Asuka's right fist burst into flames as he hurled a Chop-Chop Rocket with incredible speed. The flaming flying fist slammed into the scarecrow and sent it crashing back into a nearby building! Asuka yanked his arm back to his body, fist still flaming, and watched as a voodoo doll emerged from Wakaba's chest and fell to the ground.
The scarecrow steadied itself as Asuka used his left arm to lay Bulma on a bench. The flames on his fist spread up to his forearm and pain began to pulse from his right arm. He had no time to worry about the flames, he Shaved down the street and leapt up into the air. The scarecrow swiped its hands at Asuka, he spun around in the air and kicked off of its left hand.
Asuka flew at the scarecrow's head and slammed a powerful flaming punch into its nose! The scarecrow reeled back and erupted into long strands of straw as Asuka fell and landed on the ground. He quickly got away from the straw and watched another voodoo doll emerge from Wakaba's side.
Wakaba dashed at Asuka and created a Straw Sword on her right arm. She lunged forward and unleashed a flurry of slashes that Asuka easily evaded. Asuka shot his knee from his left leg and it slammed into Wakaba's mouth. She stumbled back and Asuka slammed his flaming arm into Wakaba's chest.
Another voodoo doll emerged from Wakaba's chest as she reeled back and she ducked beneath a swift right jab from Asuka. Wakaba Shaved away from Asuka and hurled a flying slash at him. Asuka ducked under the flying slash as Wakaba hardened her Straw Sword.
They dashed at each other and clashed with powerful blows. Both moved quickly to evade the other's right arms as they clashed in the street. Wakaba Shaved behind Asuka and slashed him through his side with her black blade!
Asuka screamed ducked beneath a high kick as he aimed his next punch. He hurled a flaming Chop-Chop Rocket up at Wakaba and she barely dodged the swift attack. His arm flew up and curved back around as Wakaba skipped forward and swung her blade down.
In the blink of an eye, Asuka split his body down the middle and moved the halves of his body to dodge Wakaba's downward slash! Wakaba shattered the ground with her blade and Asuka's flying fist slammed into the back of her head.
Wakaba was knocked forward hard as another voodoo doll emerged from her back. Asuka reassembled himself and breathed heavily as Wakaba slowly turned to face him. She had an angry and horrified look on her face as she glared at Asuka.
"You punk..! This ends now..!" Wakaba spat as she hurled a large flying slash at Asuka.
Asuka leapt over the flying slash and it ripped through several nearby buildings. He Shaved at Wakaba and sent a barrage of powerful punches flying at Wakaba. She moved quickly to block and dodge more attacks than she had throughout the entire battle.
Wakaba spun and kicked Asuka in the side of the head. He stumbled to his left and ducked under the swing of her Straw Sword. Wakaba elongated her blade and swung rapidly at Asuka as he dodged around.
Asuka landed on his feet and caught the Straw Sword with his left hand! He held it in place and hurled his flaming right arm at Wakaba, "Rocket Fist!" Asuka's right arm slammed into Wakaba's face and sent her flying back. She skipped across the pavement five times and crashed into the lobby of the auction hall!
Asuka yanked his right arm back and tried to swat the flames out. Intense pain pounded through his right arm and his exhaustion began to rapidly return. He stumbled to the side of the street and kicked a fire hydrant out of place, causing an eruption of water that hit Asuka and extinguished his arm.
The Flying Nimbus appeared beside Asuka and helped him stay on his feet. He climbed onto the nimbus and zoomed toward the auction hall. Asuka flew into the lobby and found Wakaba lying in a pile of rubble, unconscious and bloody.
Asuka grinned and said to the nimbus, "Let's get Bulma."
Kosai looked shocked as she turned to the rest of the Flower Pirates. "He won..! That Asuka kid beat Wakaba!"
"What?!"
"There's no way!" Tiger Lily protested. "That kid beat a Warlord?"
"I saw it. I watched their whole fight with the powers of my Glare-Glare Fruit. I'm not lying." Kosai said firmly.
Sakura chuckled and said, "That bastard. He'll have a higher bounty than Richter after this." She smiled and looked back at Yorknew City for a second. "Let's go, girls."
The Flower Pirates got to work and set sail away from the city of sin.
The Flying Nimbus arrived at the Whore's Pocket watch carrying Asuka and Bulma. Both of them were unconscious as the nimbus floated down to the deck of the ship.
"Asuka! Bulma!" Yasui shouted as the others ran over to them.
"He won." Mugen said and nodded.
"How do you know?" Yasui asked.
"He's smiling." Shuhei said and pointed at Asuka's face.
"Guys, let's get them below deck and let's set sail." Renji said quickly.
Hama barked and Zika said, "Yeah, let's get the fuck out of here."
Zika and Yasui led the Flying Nimbus below deck so they could put Asuka and Bulma in beds as the others raised the anchor and unfurled the sails. Shuhei controlled the helm as the Whore began to guide them away from Yorknew City.
Renji stood at the stern and stared at Yorknew City as they sailed away from it. His perspective on the Akatsuki had been drastically changed but he would still need to eliminate them. Orochimaru had told him that the first life he took in the name of revenge would haunt him… He sighed and walked across the deck.
Across the seas at the G-1 Marine base, Norrington stood in an office being verbally assaulted.
"Are you a fucking idiot?! An act of pure idiocy such as this has never been recorded anywhere in history!" Admiral Law screamed in Norrington's face.
"Sir, I apologize. I was excited by capturing Nefeltari Bulma a-"
"But you didn't capture the Nefeltari girl, did you? It was some random bitch who can copy appearances with the power of a Devil Fruit! Just flow some goddamn Haki into her body and you can find out who she really is." Admiral Law spat.
"The thought didn't cross my mind, sir." Norrington said slowly.
"Clearly not you fucking idiot! It's the first thing I did when I got here. Simple common sense! As of now, you are Rear Admiral Norrington, got it? You will stay here and command G-1 while Inosuke will take your place as Vice-Admiral." Law declared.
"But, sir!"
Admiral Law backhanded Rear Admiral Norrington and spat in his face. "Shut the fuck up! Inosuke, get in here!"
The newly appointed Vice-Admiral Inosuke walked into the office with a cigar in his mouth. Inosuke stood at seven feet tall with very muscular shoulders and arms. He had silver hair and cold blue eyes. He puffed on his cigar and asked, "Yes, sir?"
"Brief Rear Admiral Norrington on how to run this place and then I want you to take that woman to Impel Down." Admiral Law stated.
Vice-Admiral Inosuke nodded and said, "At once, sir." Inosuke turned to Norrington and said, "Come with me, fuckhead."
The two of them walked out of the office and Admiral Law lit his own cigar as he sat down. He puffed on the cigar and made a call on his Transponder Snail.
"Hello?"
"Norrington fucked up. Nefeltari Bulma is still at large." Law puffed on his cigar and said, "I want CP9 after her."
"I'll arrange for agents to be sent out at once." Came a quick response.
"Her last known location was Yorknew City. I want her captured and her travelling companions murdered." Admiral Law ordered.
