Chapter 51: Thunderstruck
Renji sat on a bench as he waited for his call to be answered. "Hello?"
"Bulma, it's Renji. Are you guys still with Connie and Buelle?"
"Yasui and I are, yeah. Where are you?" Bulma asked.
"Deep into Upper Yard. Where are Shuhei and Zika?" Renji asked slowly.
"They figured you guys would end up in Upper Yard and set out to find you." Bulma replied.
"Asuka and Mugen are here in Upper Yard too. They're heading toward Gin's territory." Renji said and sighed.
"Buelle said that Shuhei, Zika and Hama would run into his soldiers as they entered Upper Yard." Bulma explained.
"You and Yasui need to get over here. There's too much to explain but there's gonna be an all out war tomorrow. Gin is gonna make his move."
"Shit. We'll set out on the Flying Nimbus as soon as we can. Where can we find you?" Bulma asked.
"Head as far west over Upper Yard as you can and look for a bronze tower. There's a town around the tower where the Namekians live." Renji explained.
"Namekians?"
"Just get here when you can. I'm gonna sit tight until the fight starts."
"Alright, see you soon." Bulma said and ended the call.
Shuhei, Zika and Hama dashed through the jungle as arrows and lightning bolts hailed down around them. The large golden bird flew above the trees and the short man leapt off its back and propelled himself through the air after them as they ran.
Zika pulled a demon wind shuriken off his back and expanded it as he hurled it at the man. The man swatted the shuriken away with his scepter and blasted a bolt of lightning that Shuhei ducked beneath.
Shuhei used the Afterimage as he Shaved at the short man, they exchanged rapid blows as Zika and Hama bounced off of the trees around them. The man blocked and dodged Shuhei's strikes and he kicked Shuhei in the side of the head. Zika and Hama bulleted down with their Fang Over Fang and the man easily dodged them.
"Ka ka ka ka! Missed me!" The man shouted and blasted a bolt of lightning that struck Zika and electrocuted him!
Shuhei Shaved forward and the man ducked beneath a swift kick and tripped him. Shuhei stumbled and blocked a punch as the man jabbed the scepter into his chest and zapped him. The man laughed as Shuhei gritted his teeth and struck a powerful punch into the man's chest.
The man leapt back as Shuhei stumbled back and popped his neck. Zika stood up and patted his shoulders as Hama growled and snarled.
"Who the hell are you?" Zika asked.
"Ka ka ka, I am Azuma! God Gin's Eastern Priest!"
"A higher up, eh?" Shuhei raised an eyebrow.
"Look at his wings, they're different." Zika said as he pointed out the large downward facing wings on Azuma's back.
"He has good reflexes." Shuhei muttered as he stared at the priest.
The large gold bird swooped down between trees and shot a bolt of lightning from its mouth! Zika barely dodged the bolt as Azuma dashed forward and slammed a swift kick into Hama's head.
Shuhei skipped at Azuma and barraged a flurry of punches that the priest easily avoided. Zika hurled a handful of shuriken that Azuma deflected with his scepter, Shuhei sent a kick flying up and the priest ducked beneath it.
Azuma struck Shuhei in the chest with his scepter and zapped him as the large bird struck Zika with a bolt of lightning. Zika cried out in pain as Shuhei gritted through the pain and jabbed a Finger Pistol into Azuma's left arm.
"Zapdos!" Azuma called out and leapt onto the bird's back as it swooped over him.
"Shit, that hurts a little!" Shuhei spat as he kept his eyes on the priest.
"You alright, boy?" Zika rasped as he patted Hama. Hama whined and got up from the ground.
"The bird can shoot lightning from its mouth…" Shuhei thought for a moment and dashed off through the jungle.
"Hey, Shuhei!" Zika called out as he and Hama chased after him.
Azuma rode on Zapdos as they flew after the Blue Sea dwellers. Azuma wielded a gold scepter with modified Thunder Dials attached to the base and tip. He wore thick rubber gloves to prevent himself from being shocked by his own weapon. Azuma aimed and blasted several bolts of lightning down at Shuhei, Zika and Hama in the jungle.
"Where are you going?!" Zika called out as they ran between trees and dodged bolts.
"We can't let the White Berets interrupt us while we take care of this asshole." Shuhei said and grinned as he looked over his shoulder at Azuma.
Zapdos shot a crackling bolt of lightning that struck a large tree and ignited it. Flames spread quickly up the tree as it crackled and spat cinders into the air. Zika and Hama leapt up and bounced around the trees quickly as Shuhei attempted to Moon Walk up at Azuma.
"Shit!" Shuhei exclaimed as he remained on the ground and he barely dodged a blast of lightning from Azuma.
Zika and Hama slammed into Zapdos and the large gold bird squawked in agony! Feathers flew from Zapdos as Zika and Hama kicked away from him and the bird began to plummet toward the ground.
Azuma leapt off of Zapdos and blocked Shuhei as he leapt up at him. They exchanged blows in the air and Azuma sent Shuhei flying into a tree with a powerful kick. Flames were rapidly spreading between the trees around them and Shuhei picked himself up.
"I can't Moon Walk but flames are unfazed up here…" Shuhei muttered, "Bullshit."
Zika and Hama dashed at Azuma from behind and pounced. The Priest leapt in the air and shot a blast of lightning down at them. The blast struck Zika and Hama and zapped them wickedly. They both fell to the ground as Shuhei leapt in the air and lunged at Azuma.
Azuma grinned and fired a blast of lightning as Shuhei aimed his finger and shot his Spirit Gun; the two attacks collided and exploded violently in the air!
"Two of my friends will be on their way here any time now." Shuhei said to Kami.
They sat in the room at the top of the tower. Kami sipped on his tea and nodded, "Some of your friends have already entered combat."
"Are they okay?" Renji asked quickly.
"Their voices are still strong." Kami said and nodded.
"Will the friends you called be able to arrive safely at our tower?" Dende asked.
"Yeah, Bulma and Yasui can fly here easily on the Flying Nimbus." Renji explained.
"Huh?! Your friend has a Flying Nimbus?!" Dende gaped.
"I'm really not sure what it is." Renji admitted. "I just know it's very handy."
Kami smiled and said, "There are five of them in total. Created a long time ago, shortly before I created the Dragon Balls."
"You created the Flying Nimbus?" Renji questioned.
"No. An old friend of mine… He had eaten a Mythical Zoan fruit; the Monkey-Monkey Model: Sun Wukong..!" Kami explained and smiled.
"Sun Wukong? I haven't heard of it." Renji said slowly.
Kami chuckled and said, "This was all a long time ago. There aren't many alive today that remember his existence or the Devil Fruit's for that matter. Even so, you carry his favorite tool on your back."
"Wha-?!" Renji grabbed his staff and pulled it from its sleeve, "The Power Pole?"
"Huh, that thing is the Power Pole?" Dende grinned and said, "They really are the ones that Grand Elder Guru spoke of!"
"Grand Elder Guru?"
Dende nodded and said, "He's a powerful seer."
"Guru helped me collect as many Namekians as possible when we fled our planet. He can gaze into the future as I can sense Earth as it is in the present." Kami explained.
Renji thought for a few moments and muttered, "There are so many questions…"
Kami smiled and said, "I'll likely have the answers."
Asuka, Mugen, God Farin, Puck, Leslie and the other royal guards trekked south through the jungle of Upper Yard. The smell of burning wood and smoke filled the air as they approached God Gin's territory.
"Did those assholes start a fire?" Puck questioned.
"Hold position here." God Farin tapped Barnum in the side and the mock Pegasus flew up between the trees and into the air. An explosion rocked a tree beside Barnum and he darted further into the sky as White Berets charged at the group of them.
Asuka struck a soldier down with a Chop-Chop Rocket as Mugen Shaved forward and swiftly cut another one down. The White Berets shouted and shot arrows and bazookas that exploded and blasted smoke around the battlefield.
Leslie aimed her Burn Bazooka and blasted a group of soldiers with an intense beam of fire! The Burn Bazooka utilized a Flame Dial and Jet Dial to create powerful flame beams to be fired from it.
Puck charged forward and twirled his spear around as he cut down soldiers. He ducked beneath an arrow and hurled his spear at a White Beret, piercing his chest and pinning him to a tree! More explosions rocked the area as God Farin swooped down on Barnum and struck down soldiers with his lance.
Asuka shaved around and struck down soldiers with a powerful flurry of blows. He looked up and saw a large gold bird shoot lightning from its mouth as it flew overhead! Asuka evaded the bolt of lightning and ducked beneath an arrow shot from a White Beret. Another explosion rocked the area and Asuka leapt away quickly.
"Water!"
"We need to stop the fires!"
People were shouting nearby as the fighting continued and a group of Shandians zoomed by on their hoverboards.
Gad Farin had a Heat Dial attached to his lance, it turned his weapon red hot as he pierced into surrounding soldiers. Mugen cut down two soldiers and charged further into the jungle as the White Berets began to retreat.
Shandians were blasting Water Dials at the flaming trees as they desperately tried to stop the fire. Mugen skipped up and swung his sword at the flames, "Chill of the Grave!" A wave of ice struck the flames and melted quickly as the flames were extinguished.
The Shandians turned and zoomed away on their hoverboards and Mugen glimpsed Shuhei, Zika and Hama being carried away on the backs of the fleeing tribesmen.
"Hey! Those are my friends!" Mugen shouted as he dashed through the jungle after the Shandians.
The soldiers fled the battle and Asuka regrouped with God Farin and his royal guard. The large gold bird circled overhead and Asuka stared at it as God Farin spoke, "We've arrived at Gin's territory. They know we're here and we need to act fast."
"Where's the swordsman? Mugen?" Leslie asked.
"Hm?" Asuka looked around and shrugged. "He'll be fine. I'm concerned with that bird."
"Indeed." God Farin muttered, "That is Zapdos. The steed of one of Gin's Four Priests."
They looked up as the bird flapped away quickly. Intense winds began to kick up and the trees bent dramatically as leaves and branches were ripped from them.
"Here he comes!" Puck shouted.
"Gin approaches..!" God Farin called out and Barnum neighed loudly.
God Gin landed in the jungle near the group of them and smiled widely as his red hair blew wildly atop his head. Gin waved his right hand and a small tornado flew at the royal guards and erupted into a powerful whirlwind that sent them flying!
Asuka Shaved forward and sent a powerful punch at Gin's jaw. Gin ducked quickly and struck Asuka in the gut with his palm and a blast of wind sent him flying back into a tree! Barnum flew through the air and God Farin lunged at Gin with his heated lance.
God Gin leapt back and flew through the air with controlled wind currents. He effortlessly dodged between trees and appeared above God Farin and his steed. God Gin hurled a powerful force of wind that slammed God Farin and Barnum down into the ground!
Asuka leapt into the air and sent a barrage of swift punches that God Gin easily blocked and dodged. God Gin smirked as he flew back and blasted Asuka with a powerful force of wind that sent him flying down to the ground. Asuka stumbled across the ground and remained on his feet as Gin bulleted at him through the air.
God Farin skipped up and lunged at Gin with his red hot lance. Gin spun around in the air and avoided God Farin as he flew at Asuka. Gin avoided a Chop-Chop Rocket and slammed a swift kick into Asuka's chest, knocking him into a tree.
"Wind Scythe!" Gin swung his left arm and sent a blade of pressurized wind that cut Asuka in half.
God Farin lunged at Gin from behind. Gin flew up into the air to dodge the hit and sent a blast of wind down. God Farin absorbed the blast into an Impact Dial and Gin quickly flew down at him.
Asuka reassembled himself and Shaved at God Farin as Gin zoomed down at him. God Farin blocked a powerful punch with his lance and Asuka slammed a swift punch into the side of God Gin's head!
Gin stumbled to his left and both Asuka and God Farin were struck by lightning! Azuma and Zapdos flew overhead and Gin hit Asuka with a wicked blast of air that sent him flying through the jungle of Upper Yard!
God Farin and God Gin continued their clash as Asuka bulleted through the air and off of Upper Yard. He flew and flipped between trees and began plummeting down through the clouds surrounding Upper Yard..!
