Chapter 59: Around the World
"Buster Cannon!" Richter jabbed his swollen right arm at four marines and blew them away as it ruptured.
The Richter Pirates had landed on Banibo Island and were wreaking havoc across the town. His crew shredded through marines and busted the windows of houses and shops as they raided the island.
Basho, the Vice-Captain charged forward and twirled his sickles around as he dismembered three marines that stood in his way. "These guys are losers!"
"Fire!" Marines fired down at the pirates from rooftops and more of them came charging down the main street.
The Richter Pirates aimed their own guns and fired back at the marines as they reloaded. Chad, the Navigator, walked calmly passed the others and unloaded a large automatic machine gun that ripped through surrounding structures and blasted the marines to pieces.
Richter Shaved down the street at the approaching marines as both of his arms quickly swelled. He leapt up in the air and swung his arms down at them, "Double Buster!" His arms ruptured and obliterated the marines beneath him as it propelled him up into the air.
The townspeople stared up at Richter as he used Moon Walk to stand in the sky. He grinned down at them, "Surrender! The Richter Pirates have taken over this island!" Richter laughed and raised his hands in the air, "Give up all of your valuables and nobody else will die!"
Lucilfer D. Volcier walked slowly down the docks of Rumbar Island. The cold air clawed at his face and blew his hair to the side as he made his way into town. He passed by townsfolk without giving them a second glance, he had business to attend to.
Volcier walked into a slanted pub and looked around at the crowd of pirates who drank and loudly sang around him.
"Oi, kiddo!" A booming voice cut through the chaos of the bar and caught Volvier's attention.
He smiled and made his way into a corner of the pub and toward a large table where Clarke Gamble sat. The man was a kind of healthy heavy, large and powerful. He had silvery black hair and piercing green eyes. Gamble wore a large black coat around his shoulders with a white silken shirt and olive green pants.
"Kahahaha, good t'see ya boy!" Gamble cheered through a mouthful of lamb and potatoes.
Volcier sat down across from Gamble and nodded, "Congratulations are in order. I hear you're a Warlord now."
Gamble chugged a glass of ale and laughed, "Yessir. An ally of the Navy I am."
Volcier smiled faintly, "And they didn't suspect that you're up to something?"
"Kahahaha, they know I'm up to something." Gamble grinned, "They just need me for the moment." He took another large bite of lamb and potatoes.
"Oh?" Volcier raised an eyebrow.
"That Wakaba bitch got taken out, but I hear you had a hand in that. Kahahaha! And I'm a strong replacement." Gamble guffawed.
"I simply robbed Wakaba." Volcier smiled, "She survived the bombs we planted."
"Kahahaha, I got the poster of the brat that did her in." Gamble grinned, "Aizack really wants him and his crew taken out."
"Anyway." Volcier reached into his jacket and pulled out the Swamp-Swamp Fruit.
Gamble grinned, "Wonderful. I'm lucky your old man taught you how to do that."
Volcier stared blankly at Gamble.
"Kahahaha. Here's the Beli, two-hundred-and-thirty million." Gamble picked up a bag from beside his chair and placed it on the table.
Volcier placed the Devil Fruit on the table beside the bag of money and said, "The trick is simple once you know how."
Kahaha! How do you do it?"
Volcier smiled, "You couldn't afford to buy that knowledge from me…"
Gamble grinned, "Your father said the same thing to me, kahahaha!"
"He left me instructions on how to commit the taboos. I resent him and thank him for it every day of my life." Volcier picked up the bag of money and stood up from his seat.
Gamble picked up the Swamp-Swamp Fruit and grinned, "Thank you, kiddo."
Volcier nodded and walked away from the table as he thought about his father.
"Sir, we have the reports from the four Blues." Kalifa said as she handed a stack of papers to Siegfried.
He took the papers from her and skimmed over them, "Very nice. And of the Navy's movements?"
"We're gathering more information at the moment. Though, we're sure that they're planning something big." Kalifa said matter-of-factly.
"Hm. We still need more time before we can make our move." Siegfried thought for a moment and looked out across Maltese. Siegfried stood at eight feet tall. He had a handsome face with dark skin and pale white hair and; he wore a large black trench coat with gray underclothes.
"When the time is right, we'll hit the World Government with everything we've got." Kalifa smiled. She wore a dark green blouse with black pants and boots. She had tan skin and short orange hair.
"The entire world is waiting for us." Siegfried sighed, "We need to find out what the Navy is up to… And how it involves Yellowbeard."
"Do you think that they're actually gonna do it? The Navy declaring war on an Emperor of the Sea..?"
Siegfried glanced at Kalifa, "We've all been at war for a long time now. Taking down an Emperor, especially the old cat, will bolster the people's confidence in the Navy and World Government."
"And if the Navy is busy fighting an Emperor… We can launch our own attack on Marie Jois!" Kalifa smiled widely.
"Don't get too ahead of yourself." Siegfried smiled softly, "We need to gather all the facts and act accordingly."
Kalifa pouted and said, "Yeah yeah, you're right." She raised an eyebrow and asked, "And your son..?"
"What about him?" Siegfried asked and made a confused face.
"Huh?! What do you mean?! He's your son!" Kalifa scolded.
"He could be anywhere right now. And he's no concern of mine at the moment."
"Have you looked at his crew? If and when the World Government realizes who's on their ship… They could be massacred by Admiral level marines!" Kalifa crossed her arms and stared at him.
"Hm?" Siegfried rolled his eyes, "He's using my name. So Asuka could easily be targeted for assassination. There's the Nefeltari girl. And that Kurta kid, right? They're just kids."
"And a member of the Zoldyk family of assassins. And a relative of 'Mad Dog' Yamcha. There's some kid who's a Demon with a sword. And… Well, the last one is just some kid. But still."
"They're pirates. They chose to live free and in the face of danger." Siegfried said firmly, "They'll get stronger or die. The same odds as everyone else. Plus, don't underestimate Asuka. He is my kid after all." He grinned.
Kalifa rolled her eyes and sighed, "I always forget that you ate the Narcissist-Narcissist Fruit."
"...Your jokes are terrible."
"No worse than your parenting."
On Pompeii island, somewhere in the Grand Line, the Enigma Pirates sat in a pub together. Lucy, Lee and Ragnar chugged their large cups of ale as Duros and Willem pounded on the table to cheer them on.
Ragnar and Lucy slammed their cups down at the same time and Lee a moment after the two of them. The three of them laughed and Lucy cheered, "I win!"
"Huh? We tied!" Ragnar insisted as he pointed at their cups.
Lucy shrugged and grinned, "I don't believe in ties."
Chihiro and Pearl walked up to their table with their arms full of drinks. They set the new round of ale on the table and the others cheered.
Pearl took a drink from her cup and asked, "So, what's the plan for G-1?"
Lucy raised an eyebrow as she drank down her cup of ale. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and smiled, "I was just thinking of a sneak attack or maybe…"
The others looked at her and waited for her to finish her sentence.
Lucy instead nodded and grabbed another cup of ale.
"Or maybe what?" Duros and Willem asked in unison.
Lucy set her cup down and smiled, "Or maybe we get an army to help us."
"Huh?!"
Eiffel D. Lucy laughed and said, "The sea is full of pirates that will share our goal of raiding a marine stronghold."
"And what, we'll just ask them to help us?" Duros asked.
"Of course!" Willem and Ragnar laughed.
Just then, the doors to the pub swung open and five women walked in in single file. The woman at their head was tall and busty, she had pink hair and wore blue shorts with a white tube top. Behind her was an even taller green haired woman in a faded green robe.
Behind them was a Longleg woman in a purple unitard, a short brown haired woman in red and a very muscular woman with a tight T-shirt and cargo pants. The five of them walked over to an unoccupied table and sat down.
"Don't do it…" Pearl muttered.
"Hey, you lot!" Lucy shouted at the table of new arrivals. She grinned and said, "Come and drink with us."
The Flower Pirates turned and looked across the bar at the Enigma Pirates and silence hung in the building for a few moments.
Sakura smiled and said, "Alright. Iris, can you grab us all some drinks?"
"Of course." The brown haired woman in red said with a nod.
The Flower Pirates stood up and walked across the pub and pushed another table to join the one the Enigma Pirates sat at. Iris joined them all with her arms full of drinks and Lucy smiled at them all.
"This is unexpected." Sakura said and took a drink of her wine.
"It's not often that I get to meet pirates that I admire." Lucy chuckled.
"Oh?" Sakura raised an eyebrow.
"Don't play cool, Captain." Tiger Lily laughed.
Kosai chuckled, "I saw you all here with my ability and Sakura was ecstatic to meet you."
"Shut up!" Sakura shook her fist at her crew and turned red in the cheeks.
Lucy laughed and chugged her cup of ale, "Not all Pirates have to be enemies, right? But, I'm the one that'll be King of the Pirates."
Sakura laughed and said, "That's fine with me. I have no intentions of becoming Pirate King."
"Hm, why's that?" Lucy raised an eyebrow.
"It's like she wants a challenger for Pirate King…" Lee whispered to Chihiro.
"I just seek adventure." Sakura smiled, "And the liberation of the world."
Lucy laughed, "I can drink to that!"
The two pirate crews cheered and chugged down their drinks.
Captain Marsh was doubled over panting and sweating profusely. He gripped his knees with his hands and cracked his neck. He stood in the G-2 training grounds with Vice-Admiral Kadaro.
Kadaro shook his head and said, "I don't think you should use this technique. Where did you even come up with an idea like that?"
Marsh stood up straight and grinned, "Those CP9 agents we met a couple of months ago."
"Hm?" Kadaro shook his head, "It's too dangerous."
"I just need to train, Kadaro! You gave me this Devil Fruit, remember? What was the point of that if you don't want me to use its full power." Marsh groaned.
Kadaro smiled slightly, "You don't have to remind me. That technique is just dangerous, alright? It'll cut your lifespan down if you continue to use it so carefree."
Marsh grinned, "I know it's dangerous." He laughed, "I'm gonna be the Fleet Admiral someday, so I need to be the strongest!"
Kadaro chuckled, "What did you call it again?"
"That one is Gear Second." Marsh laughed, "Check this one out." Marsh bit into his right thumb and inflated his rubber arm by blowing into it, "Gear Third." Marsh swung his enormous arm at a tree in the middle of the training grounds and shattered it in two, "Giant Pistol!"
