Chapter 64: Muscle Tower
"Wheel-Wheel Hurricane!" Yasui slammed a flurry of powerful kicks into Android #5's back and sent it staggering forward.
Yasui flipped around and changed his hands back to normal as he turned his feet into wheels. He sped around the right of the android and spun quickly, slamming a fierce kick into the machine's right leg.
Android #5 lost its footing and fell onto its left knee as it toppled forward. Renji Shaved forward and entangled the android with his Chain Jail. The chains wrapped tightly around the machine and it was rendered immoble.
More Red Ribbon soldiers arrived on the scene as the boys captured Android #5 and moved to stop the duo.
Renji sighed, "I hate these guys."
"I'm right there with you." Yasui nodded.
In the blink of an eye the townsfolk of Jingle Village appeared with old rifles and makeshift spears. They charged into the streets and stood between the soldiers and the two boys.
Elyse stood with makeshift armor and a rifle in her hands. She stared at the soldiers and shouted, "Leave our village! Leave us alone!"
Yasui and Renji glanced at each other and nodded. Renji tightened the grip of his chains and crushed Android #5 with immense pressure. It cracked and sparked violently as Renji directed his chains and hurled the shell of the android at the soldiers.
The townsfolk cheered and Yasui sped passed them as the android struck a handful of soldiers down. Yasui shined a Flash Dial that blinded the remaining soldiers and the townsfolk charged after Yasui.
Renji smiled as he grabbed his bandana and tied it onto the top of his head. He dashed forward and aided the others in taking down the remaining soldiers and reclaiming Jingle Village.
"Fang Over Fang!" Zika and Hama slammed into the soldiers outside of the looming tower and sent them sprawling into the snow. They hopped up and lunged at others as the skirmish raged on.
Shuhei and Asuka charged side by side and beat through a handful of soldiers as they made their way into the tower. They entered the main lobby of the Living Area where a dozen soldiers opened fire with their machine guns.
Bulma flew into the lobby on the nimbus and hurled a gust of wind that redirected the hail of bullets back at the soldiers, taking a few of them out. She circled around the lobby and twirled her Climate Baton around as she hurled Thunderballs down at the soldiers.
Zika and Hama came bounding into the lobby and launched themselves into another Fang Over Fang as they bounced around the walls and slammed into the remaining Red Ribbon goons.
"There are gonna be a lot of those soldiers in here!" Shuhei called out.
"Let's just keep heading up!" Asuka stated and ran towards the staircase at the end of the lobby.
The others charged after him and the group of them continued through the Barracks and Living Area where more soldiers stood with their weapons drawn.
Bulma threw a DynoCap and a large rock appeared in the hallway, shielding the group of them as the soldiers opened fire with their machine guns. Bullets ricocheted off the rock and Asuka leapt over it, evading the hail of bullets and charged forward as Shuhei, Zika and Hama followed after him.
Asuka and Shuhei fell onto the soldiers with powerful strikes as Zika and Hama bounced off of the walls and slammed into other soldiers with their Fang Over Fang. The group of them beat through the new coming soldiers as they made their way through the second level of the tower.
Colonel Beige stood in his office at the top of Muscle Tower, he poured himself a tall glass of whiskey and inserted the cork back into the bottle.
"Colonel Beige, sir, the tower has been infiltrated!" A man shouted as a unit of six Red Ribbon soldiers came charging into his office.
"Yes, I can see that." Beige grumbled as he waved his arms at Projector Snails that showed the many levels of the tower on his wall.
"What are your orders, sir?"
"Sound the god damned alarm and deal with these fucking kids!" Beige shouted at the soldiers and he downed his glass of whiskey.
The soldiers dashed out of his office and he set his glass down on his desk. He ran his hands down the sides of his beige colored trench coat and shook his head as he shivered. Fucking kids have infiltrated my stronghold…
The alarm began blaring throughout the tower and Colonel Beige smiled. He stepped out of his office and made his way across the top floor to Dr Flappe's laboratory. Unlocking the door and stepping inside, he scanned around slowly for the Doctor.
Dr. Flappe stood working on Android #6's left arm. He glanced at Beige and got back to the task at hand.
"Do you hear the alarm?" Colonel Beige chuckled and pointed at the android, "I need that thing to go down and deal with the intruders."
Dr. Flappe raised an eyebrow, "The others aren't enough?"
"#7 and #8 won't be necessary during this- incident." Colonel Beige laughed.
Dr. Flappe flinched at the smell of whiskey on the Colonel's breath, "As you wish." He finished up tinkering on #6's arm and patted it on the shoulder.
Android #6 looked at Beige and awaited orders. This android stood at four feet tall with pale skin and jet black hair. Her face was emotionless and almost too Human-like.
"Go downstairs and deal with the trespassers." Colonel Beige ordered.
The android nodded, "Affirmative." It quickly jogged out of the laboratory and out of sight.
"What's happening down there?" Dr. Flappe asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"A small group busted through my front door. The same group that assaulted my men in your village." Beige grinned and poked the Doctor firmly in the chest, "Maybe your wife hired some mercenaries to try and rescue you?"
"N-No, never!" Dr. Flappe clenched his fists, "She knows not to get involved."
"Good."
Asuka slammed a heavy kick into the door at the top of the second level stairwell and knocked it free from its hinges. The group of them made their way into the third floor of Muscle Tower where more soldiers opened fire on them.
Bulma twirled her Climate Baton around and sent the hail of bullets up into the ceiling with a gust of wind. Zika hurled a handful of kunai that struck down soldiers as Shuhei Shaved forward and barraged Finger Pistols at them.
Asuka Shaved beside Shuhei and slammed a series of furious strikes into the soldiers as the group of teens beat them swiftly. Asuka turned and spotted a unit of soldiers rushing down the hallway toward them and he hurled both of his arms at them, striking two of them and knocking them back into the others.
Zika hurled a black powder bomb at the soldiers as Asuka yanked his arms back to himself. The explosion rocked the soldiers and the group continued onward through the third floor.
They passed weapon crates and vehicles as they went and were impeded again by more soldiers. The Misfits sprang into action as another skirmish kicked off on the Armory and Storage Floor.
More and more soldiers arrived on the scene as the Misfits beat their way through the others and hidden in their ranks was Android #6! Asuka, Shuhei, Zika and Hama bounced around as they slammed into soldiers with swift strikes and Bulma hurled Thunderballs and gusts of wind around at them.
Android #6 skipped into action suddenly, appearing beside Asuka and slamming its elbow into his head. Asuka stumbled backward and the android delivered a powerful punch up into his chin, lifting him up off the ground and sending him sprawling.
Zika and Hama struck down a few more soldiers and leapt around quickly as they dodged another spray of bullets. Hama pounced and slammed into Android #6 with a Single Fang Strike as Zika tossed shuriken at nearby soldiers.
Hama struck into the android and sent it stumbling to its right as Hama landed on all fours. The android spun around quickly and struck Hama in the side with a heavy kick that sent the dog sprawling as it whimpered loudly.
Zika sprang at the android and was met with a swift kick to the chest. Zika slid back on his feet and Android #6 opened fire with the machine guns in its hands. As Zika leapt around and dodged the bullets, Shuhei Shaved up and slammed a ferocious kick into the android's gut!
Android #6 leapt back and Zika lobbed three scentless smoke bombs that erupted and engulfed the area.
"I got this one!" Shuhei shouted and dashed through the smoke and clashed a flurry of blows with the android.
Asuka beat down a handful of soldiers as Zika grabbed Hama and helped him onto his feet. "Let's go!" Asuka shouted as he, Zika and Hama dashed off with Bulma flying after them.
Asuka, Bulma, Zika and Hama burst out of the smoke and into a large chamber where several trucks, tanks and vertibirds were stored. They continued onward as another wave of soldiers came to oppose them.
"Chop-Chop Rocket!" Asuka hurled his right arm and slammed his flying punch into the head of one of the soldiers, dropping him.
"C'mon Hama, we aren't done yet!" Zika and Hama leapt up and spun rapidly as they launched themselves at the soldiers, "Fang Over Fang!"
Bulma flew the nimbus over the unit of soldiers and twirled her baton around as she hurled Thunderballs down on them, "Thunderball Tempo!"
The smoke cleared quickly as Shuhei and Android #6 leapt around while exchanging a mad flurry of blows. The android struck Shuhei in the side with a swift kick and the boy grabbed hold of the android's leg. Shuhei caught Android #6's right fist as it swung and he swept its other leg out from under it.
Android #6 hit the ground and aimed its left arm up at Shuhei as it unloaded the machine from its palm. Shuhei dodged around swiftly as the android spun around and jumped back onto its feet. The android's shoulders opened up and a volley of small missiles erupted toward Shuhei.
Shuhei Shaved around as explosions rocked the area and sent the bodies of soldiers flying overhead. The android fired its machine guns at Shuhei as he dashed around the boy, leapt upward and flipped around in the air. He planted his feet on the ceiling and launched himself down at the android as it spun around to face him.
As the android raised its arms to fire, Shuhei flew downward and slammed a savage punch onto the top of the android's head. It stumbled back as Shuhei and he struck Android #6 in the chest with a swift kick.
Shuhei skipped back and his training Nail flashed through his mind.
"Ki or Haki, whatever you call it, exists in all living things." Nail explained.
Shuhei nodded, "I already know that. I just need to control it better."
"Ah, I see. Well all in due time. Patience is a necessity while training and harnessing your Ki." Nail smiled as he spoke.
Shuhei sighed, "Yeah yeah, alright."
Nail chuckled, "Show me what you can do. Let's see what your maximum is now and we can shoot to surpass it."
Shuhei grinned as he felt his energy flow into his right index finger, "Watch this!"
Android #6 moved its arms and its shoulders opened again as another volley of missiles erupted outward.
Shuhei took a deep breath and directed the flow of his energy into his right fist as he threw a swift jab, "Shotgun!" Small beams of blue energy shot from his fist and collided with the incoming missile strike, detonating all of them in the air!
Android #6 came hurtling through the smoke and flames and met Shuhei in another mad flurry of blows.
The people of Jingle Village ran around in their makeshift armor and thrust their weapons into the air as they cheered. They danced around in the main street as the soldiers were tied up and and Yasui smiled as they watched them celebrate the liberation of their small village.
"We did it!" Alice cheered as she ran toward the duo. She hugged both of them and smiled widely, "You saved the village!"
"But that's only one part of the situation." Elyse said as she walked up behind her daughter and smiled softly. "The Red Ribbon Army still has daddy as a hostage."
"Those guys will take care of it, don't you worry." Renji said and nodded.
"You aren't gonna go up to the tower?!" Alice exclaimed in disbelief.
Yasui laughed, "We did our part and protected you guys. Well, you protected us and saved our asses in the end." He smiled, "They'll win any battle that these losers throw their way."
Elyse nodded as the boys reassured her that everything was going to end up alright. She smiled as a single tear rolled down her cheek, "I'm still waiting to wake up from this… Part of me doesn't believe that this is real."
"Well believe it, sister, beating up bad guys is what we do." Yasui said proudly and Renji laughed before wincing.
Elyse laughed too, it really was going to be alright.
Asuka, Zika and Hama beat through soldiers as Bulma zoomed around on the nimbus. She twirled her Climate Baton and hurled Thunderballs down into the soldiers as she zoomed passed them.
The soldiers fired their guns up at Bulma and Zika and Hama slammed into them with their Fang Over Fang. Asuka Shaved around and struck down the soldiers that the others had missed and they progressed onward across the third floor.
Another swarm of soldiers appeared to oppose the Misfits as they entered another large chamber. "Bring out the rejects!"
Three shambling androids walked slowly toward the Misfits as the soldiers snickered and booed. The three androids had clear plastic-like skin that showed their metallic skeletons wires that lined their insides like veins.
Hama growled and Zika scratched his nose lazily, "These things are creepy."
"Just do us a favor and destroy these things!" A soldier shouted from the crowd.
"Kill 'em!"
"These are just the failures anyway!" The soldiers laughed and begged to watch the androids be destroyed.
"What the hell is happening..?" Asuka raised an eyebrow, "Is this a trap?"
"I really can't tell." Zika shrugged.
"HEY! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH ALL OF YOU?!" Bulma shouted from atop her Flying Nimbus. She gripped her baton so tightly that her knuckles showed white and she waved it quickly, conjuring a flood of storm clouds.
"Uh-oh." Asuka took a few steps backward.
"Get back, boy." Zika and Hama backed up with Asuka.
The soldiers snickered and jeered as the three androids shuffled forward and the storm clouds spread throughout the chamber. A handful of them aimed their weapons up at Bulma when she shouted again.
"YOU CAN'T THROW PEOPLE TO THEIR DEATHS BECAUSE YOU DON'T THINK THEY CONTRIBUTE!" Bulma screamed and swung her baton downward, directing a hail of lightning bolts to rain down on the large group of soldiers.
A majority of the soldiers were dropped instantly and the others opened fire on Bulma as she flew around on the nimbus. Asuka, Zika and Hama sprang into action and dashed at the soldiers.
"Leave the androids alone!" Bulma called down to them as she twirled her baton and directed more strikes of lighting down onto the soldiers.
"Fang Over Fang!" Zika and Hama bounced around rapidly as they slammed into soldiers and avoided Bulma's lightning.
Asuka Shaved around swiftly and slammed savage punches and kicks into soldiers as they turned to fire on his friends. The Misfits shredded through the soldiers and a handful of them ran away before they could get beaten up.
"Damn, Bulma, you went crazy back there." Zika chuckles and Hama barks.
The three androids shuffled toward the Misfits and Bulma hopped off the nimbus. The three androids waved slowly, "We appreciate your sentiment."
Bulma smiled, "You guys are incredible! As a scientist and more so a person, I couldn't stand them calling you guys failures."
"Who are you guys?" Asuka asked with a smile.
"Android #1."
"Android #2."
"Android #3."
Asuka laughed, "Good to meet you guys, I'm Asuka."
"I'm Zika and this is Hama." Hama barked.
"And I'm Bulma!"
"It is good to meet you all. We have been fitted with explosives in a desperate plot to kill you." Android #2 explained.
"And because of your sentiment, we would like you all to survive." Android #1 added.
"What?" Asuka and Zika asked in unison.
"That is evil! They turned you guys into bombs because you didn't fit their expectations?" Bulma frowned.
"No, we were created to be failures." Android #3 explained, "We are the first of Dr. Gero's creations. We are simply trial-and-error come to life."
"These guys are gonna blow up!" Asuka took a few steps back.
"What do we do?" Zika asked and Hama barked.
"Get out of here!" Bulma ordered. "I'm gonna take care of these bombs so you guys better clear out.
"Are you su-" Zika started but Asuka pulled on his shoulder and dashed off across the chamber.
"Let's go!" Asuka yelled as he ran.
"Right!" Zika and Hama took off after Asuka.
The three androids looked at Bulma, "You should go to safety as well."
Bulma shook her head, "I can get those bombs out of you. I'm not gonna let you guys die here."
