The next day, Danny and Stan woke up to the sound of vomiting, only to discover a very hungover Jack vomiting in the upstairs bathroom. "Goddamn it, M-Maddie! I am not that d-drunk!" Randy protested from the living room, taking the car keys off of the coffee table and drunkenly storming off, only to walk straight into a wall and fall down, dropping the keys on the ground. "Well you made it further than I thought you would." Maddie said in an amused tone, taking the keys. "So, my dad's hungover, and your dad's still drunk?" Danny said to Stan. "Yeah, my dad has a really high alcohol tolerance." Stan said. "Hey boys, can I talk to you for just a minute? You're not in trouble." Maddie said.
"Yeah." The two boys said in unison. She walked into their bedroom and sat at the chair at the computer desk. "Listen, boys, I wanted to apologize. I do want us to spend time together as a family but it wasn't fair for me to ask that you stay here instead of going to spend time with your friends. You guys are young, and I know this is kind of a tough and weird time for us so you deserve to spend time with your friends. Let your father and I worry about your Uncle Randy, go live your life and enjoy being a kid!" Maddie said. "Thanks mom. But, uh, about that..." Danny said.
"Yeah, I know. I wanted to apologize for that, too. It was a bad idea for your dads to go on a drinking binge, and I'm gonna wait to until your father is feeling better to kill him, but in a way I blame myself since it was my idea for them to bond, and I should have vetoed their idea to drink together instead of allowing it and only letting you boys spend time with the Spellman's to get away from that. I was so hellbent on cheering up your Uncle Randy that I've made several bad parenting choices to do it. I made mistakes, but I promise to do better. Can you find it in your hearts to forgive me?" Maddie asked.
Danny and Stan both could tell she was sincere. Stan in particular was shocked that she took responsibility for her actions, that was practically unheard of in South Park, especially as far as his dad was concerned. "We forgive you." The two said in unison. "Thanks, boys. Now here's $50 each, go have some fun! I know Sabrina wanted to hit up the mall today, and Hilda and Zelda were hoping you two could join them." Maddie said. Danny and Stan both hugged her. "Thanks, Aunt Maddie." Stan said. "Yeah, thanks mom." Danny said. "Aww! You two are very welcome." Maddie smiled.
The doorbell rang. "Speak of the devil! Have fun, guys!" Maddie told the boys. Danny got his coat and shoes on and the two answered the door to see Sabrina standing there. "Hi, guys!" she smiled and waved. "Hey." The two said. The three of them got in Hilda and Zelda's car. "So how are things over at the Fenton/Marsh household?" Hilda asked. "My dad's hungover, and his dad's still drunk." Danny said. Her and Zelda both laughed.
"Well, don't you kids worry. What we're gonna do will be way more fun than being stuck there." Zelda said. "It already is." Danny said. They pulled into an IHOP for breakfast.
Meanwhile, Vlad and Skulker were in Vlad's mansion again, as Vlad paced around in frustration. "That whole time, Stanley knew Daniel's secret!?! This is just great!" he vented. "I think it might be time we bring out the big guns." Skulker said. "And what would be the big guns?" Vlad asked. "There's a new ghost in the ghost zone. He just died a month ago, Eric Cartman. He was only ten years old at the time of his death, but he's already an extremely powerful ghost. He apparently was no threat when he was alive, either. Amongst other things, he had a kid's parents killed and had them fed to him in his chilli." Skulker said.
"Stupendous! He'll absolutely demolish Daniel! I'd love to meet him!" Vlad said. Skulker punched some numbers into his suit and a ghost boy suddenly appeared in front of them.
"Where am I? And what do you assholes want?" a young ghost who appeared to be about Stan's age asked with a very nasally voice. He was short, obese and quite ugly, with flaming jet black hair and matching jet black eyes, both of which were brown and normal when he was alive. He had a noticeable double chin, and a dark red jacket on and black jeans.
"Are you Eric Cartman?" Vlad asked. "Yeah, I'm Eric Cartman. What of it?" the boy rudely asked. "We've summoned you to help us. We know you're quite a powerful ghost already, and apparently you posed quite a threat when you were alive." Skuler said. "Go on." Cartman said, swaying already at having his ego stroked. "Is it true that you fed a kid his parents when you were alive?" Vlad asked with a smile.
"Yeah, but that asshole deserved it. He scammed me out of $16!" Cartman said defensively. "Oh, it sure sounds like it. You see Eric, we need your help to destroy my hated arch rival, Danny Phantom." Vlad said. "Why? Is he a Jew? Or black?" Cartman asked. "Well, no." Vlad admitted. "Then why the fuck are you wasting my time? I don't just kill people willy nilly, especially not for some old man who needs a haircut." Cartman spat out rudely. "Listen, you fat little shit!" Vlad began to say venomously as he got in Cartman's face. Skulker got in between them to break them up.
"Guys, please. Eric, does this kid look familiar to you?" Skulker showed surveillance of Stan, Danny and Sabrina at the inner tube stations before the attack and he pointed at Stan. "Oh my God, that's Stan!" Cartman recognized his former friend. Actually, they were never friends, Stan, Kyle and Kenny were the only people to (mildly) tolerate Cartman. Kyle hated him the most, as he made anti-semitic remarks towards Kyle for being Jewish, followed by Kenny, who Cartman made fun of for being poor and the feeling was mutual on Cartman's end. While Stan also hated Cartman's guts, he didn't hate him as much as Kyle or Kenny since Cartman made fun of him the least and almost liked Stan.
"That kid next to him is his cousin, Daniel Fenton. At least, in human form. He's half-ghost and in ghost form he's Danny Phantom." Vlad explained. "That explains why Stan looks like such a dumbass. He got it from his cousin. Also, what is a 'half-ghost'? Everyone talks about it in the Ghost Zone. And is it the same thing as a 'halfa'? Because I don't know what that is either." Cartman asked. "Oh yes." Vlad said, turning into his ghost form to show Cartman what a half-ghost was. "Oh." Cartman said.
Vlad turned back into his human form. "So why do you want this Danny kid dead? What'd he do to you? Other than be related to Stan?" Cartman asked. "His fat moron of a father stole the love of my life from me! All I wanted was for Daniel to renounce his father to me and Maddie to realize what a huge mistake she made by marrying Jack, but instead he got in the way at every turn! You see that girl with them?" Vlad pointed at Sabrina and Cartman nodded.
"That's Sabrina Spellman, she and her aunt's are witches and she's friends with Daniel and Stanley." Vlad said. "Friends? With those two fags? No fuckin' way! She can do better than them. I sure wish I was still alive, I could get a girl like that easy with my boyish good looks and charm!" Cartman said. Vlad and Skulker rolled their eyes. "Christ, this child is deluded." Vlad thought to himself. "Anyway, Eric, Danny's parents don't know he's Danny Phantom. Both of them are ghost hunters, but they're terrible at ghost hunting." Skulker said.
"Daniel once told me that his parents would still love him if they knew, and that may be true for Maddie but I know it's not true for Jack. I found out the Spellman's are witches and wanted to either expose Daniel to them or vice versa, since witches are much more powerful than ghosts, they could easily kill him, which would eventually lead to Jack and Maddie finding out Daniel's secret and cause a divide between them. Maddie would have no one to turn to but me." Vlad explained.
Cartman looked at him and listened intently. "But the plan failed, I did expose Daniel to Sabrina but they didn't turn on him at all! Once I knew Randy was divorcing Sharon and moving here to Amity Park with Jack and Maddie, my next idea was to similarly expose the boy to Stanley in hopes that he'd rat his cousin out to his aunt and uncle and eventually I'd kill him myself and have Maddie all to myself. But Stanley already knew Danny's secret and the Spellman's told him theirs. Which is why I need your help. You're already one of the most powerful ghosts in the Ghost Zone in the short time you've been dead. I've decided to just kill the boy, and possibly the Spellman's if I have to. But I can't do it alone. Between the two of us, though, they don't stand a chance. Maddie will finally be mine!" Vlad explained.
"Dude, seriously, you need to move on. Also, why would I help you? What do I get out of it?" Cartman asked. "Well, Eric, I understand your arch enemy is Stanley's best friend, Kyle Broflovski. If we kill Daniel, it'll hurt Stanley, which I know wouldn't be the same as hurting Kyle but it'd be hurting his best friend, which in a way would hurt Kyle by proxy." Vlad said. Cartman smiled at this. "I'm in! Fuck you, Kahl!" he said. "Delightful!" Vlad grinned evilly.
