Author's Note: I am not too familiar on gambling like Blackjack and the story is more about the effects of gambling then gambling itself.

Prologue

Years ago...

Johnny's Casino…

Larry was tired after spending several hours with his friend Leonard Philbrick and a couple other scientists of card counting. All to prove a point to Johnny's and other casinos of what people like him and his fellow scientists could do and he was starting to wonder if it was really worth the time and money and, not for the first time, if he should just quit all together, as he felt they pretty much did.

Leonard, however, wants to go further and hit more casinos to show others what they can do more than what the original goal was. Leonard's wife has not been thrilled with what has been going on and has been threatening to end things between them if he doesn't stop, which he has been promising he will as soon as possible, but Larry knew that he wasn't going to soon.

Larry had started feeling uncomfortable at how seemingly obsessed his friend and colleague has been for the past few weeks with proving themselves, as he wondered if something happened to him to cause him to get really into all this gambling, while Larry had been obsessed and fascinated by the whole experiment, he felt like he was losing himself to the whole thing and wondered if something bad was going to happen.

Just as Larry was deep in thought as he and Leonard were leaving the Blackjack table they were at and were deciding where to go to next, two big and intimidating men approached them, which made Larry nervous, which got worse as one of the men told the young man that he and his friend had to come with them to meet with the Casino manager.

As he and Leonard were led to the back, Larry began to wonder as to what they were going to do to them and would they get out of this unharmed.
