Otherworldy Arena (Morning)

Pointing his staff at the faunus, Connor blasted the man with a stream of lightning. The White Fang member picked up a nearby crate and used it as a shield, defending himself from the attack. He then threw the remains of the crate at the Schnee, whose eyes widened in surprise. Not because he was astonished by his opponent's strength, but by the unusual method of offense.

"Say hello to my bashing slab!"

"Wait, what? That's a shield. You can't use those to attack."

"Anything is a weapon if you simply put enough force into it!"

Regardless, the box was reduced to ashes within seconds of it being thrown. While the debris clouded Connor's vision, the White Fang member punched the boy. Reacting quickly, the boy brought up a barrier of green energy that took the blow. He smirked through the translucent wall as he waved at the White Fang member, who was struck with a lightning attack before he was able to pull his fist away from the barrier.

"Remember. Always strike when your opponent is off-guard, even if that only lasts a split second. It may end up being the difference between victory and death."

"Understood, Sensei."

Knowing a direct approach would most likely end in his loss, the faunus man punched the ground using his semblance, sending him flying into the air. He used the momentum of his fall to strike harder than before, only for his fist to phase through Connor's body as if it were made of smoke. The boy raised his arm, spawning a small black hole at the end of the room and forcing his opponent to it's location. He then willed the singularity to implode, searing everything around it. Despite the burns, the faunus still stood up, furious.

"I'm impressed. Not many people can withstand that attack." the Schnee praised, a hint of a smile gracing his lips. "Let's see if you're strong enough to- What!?"

Both combatants were caught by surprise when a ball of fire crashed into the floor between them. After a few seconds, the flames died down and Dominic appeared. "How the heck did I get here?" he asked himself as he turned to his partner. "I take it you need my help?"

"Some support wouldn't be unwelcome, yes." the Sorcerer responded, his eyes glowing green. He opened a Spacial Rift in front of the blonde, who jumped in without a second thought. Several more Rifts appeared around the faunus, and the Knight seamlessly executed Solar Eclipse, delivering blow after blow to the man's Aura. After the final strike, Dominic's neck was grabbed by the White Fang member, who smashed his skull into the metal floor.

Connor's eyes widened in shock before he threw his staff like a spear at the faunus' arm, piercing through it like a needle in a sewing machine. The Schnee then blasted him with a thunderstorm's worth of lightning, sending the White Fang member flying into space.

"Don't do that again." he said flatly as the room collapsed, the metal walls and ceiling returning as if nothing had happened. He ran to his partner, helping him back up.

"Why didn't you tell me your magic could do that!?" the boy yelled, referring to the astronomical background for the fight.

"I...didn't know I could do that until today." Connor admitted. Truthfully, he thought he was dreaming for the first half of the battle.

"Regardless, we are using that little trick for the Christmas party. The look on Yang's face will be PRICELESS!" Dominic said, rubbing his hands together in evil contemplation.

"I don't know why I didn't expect you to say that." the Schnee deadpanned. He raised his hand as his eyes glowed green, causing a prismatic aura to engulf part of the room. When it dissipated, Weiss' unconscious form appeared on the floor.

Dominic stared down at the white-haired girl for a few seconds before turning to her brother. "I'm not drunk enough for this." the Knight said as Connor shook Weiss' body to wake her.

"Wha-? What happened?" the heiress asked, getting up from the floor.

"You were knocked out." Connor explained. "It was a good thing Dominic got back here when he did, or I may not have won."

"When you're done with this, we should catch up with the others." the blonde said, exiting the room.

Trading glances with his sister, Connor followed his partner. As he left, the orange butterfly that landed on the floor behind him went completely unnoticed.

White Fang Secret Train (Morning)

With a full-force upward swing, Oobleck struck a Paladin with his weapon. But despite his strength and experience, the machine was able to power through the explosions. It raised it's arm, ready to crush the professor. Thankfully, Ruby's Semblance saved him before the attack. He then sped his way to the top of the robot before striking the cockpit. He then backflipped off of it, all while keeping his aim on the Paladin's weak point.

"Don't think you're getting off that easy!" the pilot said angrily, arming the machine's weapons. Then, everything around them went black. Confused, it took them a minute to notice the green device in their hands. On the pad was a simple question.

"6x8=?"

Wanting to get back to the fight, the faunus typed in an answer without thinking. As soon as they did, a deep nasal voice filled their head.

"I HEAR MATH THAT BAD."

Ruby and Oobleck watched in terror and amazement as the Paladin's paint job turned blood red and exploded. In the back of her mind, Ruby could've sworn she heard insane laughter from her former math teacher. And she would be even more unnerved when she saw the man walk out of the smoke cloud like nothing had happened. "RUBY. YOU SHOULD GET TO THE FRONT OF THE TRAIN WHILE YOU STILL CAN."

"What about you and Dr. Oobleck?" Ruby asked, worried. (Mostly for Oobleck.)

"Don't worry. It's time we taught them a lesson." the doctor said before running to the back of the train with Mr. Baldimore.

Looking down after hearing a whimper, Ruby saw Zwei staring at Oobleck as he ran into danger. "Go." the girl said, encouraging her pet. With a smile on his canine face, Zwei sped off to the battle. "Guess it's just you and me now." she said to Schrodinger, who jumped onto her shoulder.

As she got further to the front of the train, the rest of her teammates regrouped with her, as well as Team XICR.

"So, does anyone here know how to stop a runaway train?" Ivy asked, nervous.

"No, but we have the next best thing. Everyone, huddle together." Weiss said, walking to the front of the group. She thrust her sword into the floor after charging it with Ice Dust, engulfing all 8 of them in an icy cocoon just before the train hit the door.
