Veil Of Greed: Hunt For The Numbers
Chapter 10: Bye Agram
Date: August 25th, 2022
Where we left off in the story. After the Core Hyren was spotted, the team including Swiftdrawer plus the others all split up to help rebuild or try to confront the hyren who was headed for Cald. Swiftdrawer realized they left Chur behind by accident so they went ahead and got him. Soon after that, the battle began. The Core Hyren being possessed by 10 number cards targeted the Cald Hyren only for multiple individuals to get in the way. The possessed hyren seemed to destroy everything and put up one hell of a fight. The allies struggled against him but things soon got worse. Agram possessed a human and finally returned to the Moonlands. He waited for the right time to possess the already possessed hyren. As Agram fought for control over the Core Hyren, Swiftdrawer, Tony, and the others got to work sending out attacks on the Core Hyren. It was a failed attempt to free the hyren of Agram and the numbers by defeating him and forcing him into the Core dreamstone to rest. That failure allowed Agram to become incredibly powerful once he gained control over the hyren. A new battle started and pit most of the heroes against clones of Agram. Swiftdrawer fought incredibly hard and risked so much to try to defeat one of the clones. But, they collapsed after lots of fighting and eating 2 HP bananas or so while trying to stop Agram clone's strongest attack with their own attack. They were rescued and tended to by Evu. After waking up, they drank a energy restoring drink, learned more, and went back into the battle. There, they helped Bray knock out a clone for a bit and then got further restored by one of Bray's spells.
The Great Sage and I ready our weapons. The Agram clone wakes up but before he could react, we attack at the same time: "Darkeye Slash!" "Righteous Anger!" This doesn't do much damage but it provides an opening to attack again: "You fools! I will destroy you while my original destroys the Final Dreamers! You will not make it out of here alive and I will take your powers for my own!" "Not so fast, buddy! Haaaaaa! Super Spin Slash!" "You shall not forget me either because it would be a costly mistake to do so! Ultimate Tower Of Flame!" Again, not much damage. The villain laughs at us: "Is that all you can do now? How disappointing. One of you managed to get healed and yet neither of you have come close to beating me!" "You do realize that we knocked you out, right?!" "Overconfidence is the antithesis of success. You, Agram clone are stronger than Swiftdrawer and I are currently but that means little in a battle of life and death." "Don't make me laugh! Your arrogance is even worse than Korg and Zed's! I will destroy you unless you wish to change your minds and side with me instead. Together, we could rule the Moonlands and Earth forever!" I grit my teeth and more firmly hold onto my sword while taking a firmly grounded stance: "Who said we want power like that? The power to oppress others and rule over them with an iron fist? What a useless and disgusting use of one's life. True happiness can never come from something like that. If you're going to be like that, we have no choice but to put you into the ground. Haaaaaa! Extremely Risky Spin Slash!"
The clone groans in anger and says while forming a ball of void energy: "Fine! Do I have to do everything myself? This ball of void energy will be more than enough to crush you annoying mortals! There will be nothing left of you!" My attack won't come in time to stop it. Damn it. But Bray has a counter measure: "Then I shall counter with something that I have perfected over decades. I've spent much time exploring the world of Miitopia, taking on a apprentice, and researching all I could. I have a surprise for you! Spicy Double Claw Dish Slash of Flame!" She combines attacks from different Miitopian jobs/classes and uses them to make the ball of void energy use all of itself up. That gave me time to finish my attack just as Bray casts a simple Miitopian fire spell that is cast fast and hits quickly. I release it and the clone has no time to react thanks to Bray launching another swift attack. He is incinerated in seconds. The two of us high five each other, quite uncharacteristic for both of us but it worked anyway: "Well, that's one down. Orwin is closest to us currently. It is optimal that we go help him next and stick together with whoever we help. Ya know, process of elimination." "I agree. I just looked around us. Everyone will be able to hold on long enough until we can go help each of them. I shall prepare my next attack as we move toward Orwin." "Great! ..Damn it! I can't do that with my Extremely Risky Spin Slash! Oh well, guess I should just warm my muscles up for more fighting."
I swing at the air in front of us with my sword as we run toward Orwin. By accident, I get the Agram clone he's battling with with one of those air slashes: "How dare you interrupt my fight with Orwin?! The old fool needs to be taken care of as soon as possible! It would be too hard to make him join my ranks again so I have no choice but to destroy all of you as my original takes time finishing off the Final Dreamers for good." "I wasn't even going for you yet! But it works anyhow so I can't complain." In 2 minutes, we fight with Orwin against the clone so heavily that no one is able to say another word. Bray's spell after my accidental attack caused the vocal cords of the clone to literally collapse. That was followed by an uppercut from me and a spell from Orwin. The clone soon collapses and disappears: "Thank you, both of you for saving me. None of my dream creatures were able to stand up to the clone of Agram I was forced to fight instead of the real Agram." "It is our pleasure. Come with us, we shall require your help in helping everyone else defeat the clones they are facing right now. All of us must hurry." "Okay, I will come with you. You have proven to me and the other Magi that we can trust our judgement. You're wise beyond your years, just as I am said to be by the people I hold dear to me most." The 3 of us run to go help the others. More and more clones fell as myself and Bray stuck with everyone we helped to more effectively beat the clones. It became easier and easier to fight the clones the more individuals we helped and then promptly teamed up with. Things were going well.
After about 20 more minutes, the last clone has been defeated. This allowed us all to begin going for the actual Agram who still controls the body of the Core Hyren who was previously controlled by the 10 number cards he came into contact with. It's annoying how this all was partly my fault but at the same time, it's awesome to be fighting alongside all of these Moonlanders. I pant and rest a little by sitting on a funny shaped rock. It was uncomfortable but worth it. Besides, any sharp edges didn't harm me because my new armor is just that good. All of us rush to the aid of the Final Dreamers. Things are really not looking good for them: "Tony! Edyn! Strag! Furok! Ugger! Freep! We can finally help you! Sorry about that, those clones were much tougher than anyone could have expected. Not even my close scientist friend Dominic could have predicted something like that. Anyway, we're going to fight with you." None of them can reply as they are badly hurt and on the verge of death. They are only alive enough to try to resist what Agram is working on doing to them. While Agram is distracted by the arrival of all of us, Bray casts a quick healing spell to help them out. We are in for one hell of a fight now: "You managed to defeat my clones? Impressive but not good enough to stop me and my plans to conquer the Moonlands! All of you will be destroyed, just wait your turns or else!"
We don't listen and go in on the attack, our initial charge does no damage to Agram but it does tick him off: "You mortals are all the same, annoying and persistent. I wonder how much of that you would keep up if your hero Final Dreamers weren't your Final Dreamers but were my Final Dreams instead!" He laughs as he speeds up what he was trying to do to the Final Dreamers. A wave of void energy is sent towards them and no one is able to stop it. Orwin gasps: "No! If we lose them to Agram's influence, we'll be finished! Edyn, Tony, and Strag! Whatever you do, you must resist Agram! It's the only way for us to win! Don't let his void energy corrupt you into Shadow Magi!" We are helpless to watch, no one is able to move fast enough to counter or get there in time to take the energy themselves. My eyes are wide: "Not them! This is really bad! It is so cliche that void energy and darkness is tied to malevolent deeds in this world but still! Damn it! There's nothing I can do to help. Agram's advantage over us will increase so much with all of them on his side by force. Things are not looking well for our side.." That's when Bray extends her arms it and jumps right in front of the Final Dreamers: "During what feels like a lifetime ago, my greatest ally and friends and their friends had just defeated the biggest threat to Miitopia at that time, Dark Lord Melvin. I saw the fight and came to congratulate all of them for their hard work. I knew it was their fate to defeat him. But then, the Dark Curse came out of the Dark Lord, restoring him to regular banana worker Melvin. It turned out that Dark Lord Melvin was just possessed by the Dark Curse the entire time. I refused to let harm come to Miitopia's greatest hero, Adam. The Dark Curse tried to possess them but I got in the way and became possessed instead."
As the void energy continued to go inside her, she went on: "I saved my friend from the Dark Curse and gave up my own freedom, allowing the birth of a Darker Lord who then transformed into the Darkest Lord for the final battle, taking on a form similar to the Sun. Adam and the others fought so hard and managed to save me. And then, they saved the Dark Curse from an eternity of hatred and suffering as well. I tell this because I shall take the full force of your void energy and.. defeat its influence. You won't control anyone against their will ever again, Shadow Magi Agram." When the last of the void energy went into her, we all held our breaths. Suddenly, an explosion of green energy rocketed out of her body and turned into an aura. The void energy was pulled out and destroyed through this. Agram is shocked: "No mortal has ever resisted me like this! This is impossible! I have no choice but to destroy each and every one of you at once! No one will defy me ever again and I will rule over all of the Moonlands!" Bray's eyes glow green: "We shall see about that. The real battle begins now." I'm so glad I took the opportunity to charge up another of my 2nd best attack. While Agram is fixated on sending Bray flying, I release the attack and it knocks him back: "Don't hurt my friend without hurting me first you asshole! Haaaaaaa! Don't forget about mortals who follow the path of the sword! We're always on the frontlines, directly engaging the enemy and risking serious bodily harm. We put ourselves between the life forms we care about and whoever is trying to cause pain and suffering. That is the way of someone who truly follows that path!"
The Shadow Magi is forced to use all movable parts of the Core Hyren's body to hit all of us. With a simple flick, myself and others are sent flying and fall pretty hard. In the fall, my armor took a bit of damage but nothing to worry about at the moment. My sole focus is on defeating Agram. I barely pay attention to anything that is going on around me. I must do this with a focus earned through years of insistent work on creative art stuff, sword fighting, and more. I get up to my feet, my windpipe is pretty winded from that exhilarating experience. No option but to first take a few heavy breaths to settle things down: "I-I must return to the battle. The will of the sword lies inside of me and I won't let it down or ignore it. This isn't about pride or what is most fun for me. Fuck that crap. This is about insuring Agram loses for the 4th time in Moonlands history. Alone, I don't stand a chance. However, Earth Science among other things taught me that rocks break down over time and change shape and form as a result. That means, Agram can be slowly worn down until his strength decreases. I will stand my ground and show him what difference creativity makes." After my little spew, I take off in a run right for Agram. The stability of the area we are fighting in has been waning this entire time so I had to do a lot of jumping and turning as I ran to reach him. Interestingly, he is staying just above the ground, not moving in order to focus on hurting all of us from a far and close up at the same time. In a fight with Beerus, it feels like Agram could put up a decent fight for a couple of minutes so that means my armor will hold out against Agram but I fear it will crack and that cracking will land me in all sorts of trouble. But, I cannot be worried, I must keep going until Agram's down or I can't keep fighting.
Every time myself and others go on these sort of missions, we know that we might never return from them but still give them all we got. Without anymore HP bananas, it will be even tougher to stand against Agram. That will not make us back down, however. I slice and slice away at Agram with my sword, opting to put in as much effort, speed, and force as possible while doing so instead of just big attacks. To the Shadow Magi, my attacks don't really do anything. To him, they barely tickle. As such, he doesn't even acknowledge me or my sad attempts to deal damage. Too busy being mad that the Final Dreamers are really fighting back now I guess. Anyway, it's such a repetitive thing that I can just formulate what I could do when Agram notices me and sends me flying again. In fact, I can also hear the sounds of a lot of action going on including the shaking of the ground and a volcano just about to erupt.. There's yelling, flashing, magical blasts, and more happening as the battle site becomes hard to remain on for long. Shit! I'm starting to lose my balance. I keep my mouth shut but Agram notices me anyway: "So you think that flimsy little sword could actually hurt me? Don't make me laugh, a useless dream creature could do more than that to me easily!" "In that case, Darkeye Slash!"
I jump up with the stamina I have built up from staying in one place and slash at one of the wings of the hyren he is possessing. I make a small dent: "HOW DARE YOU?! You're going to pay for that!" Before he can strike at me, Bray sends a gigantic fireball and everyone moves away from Agram. I join them in doing that, jumping from rock to rock to get to more stable ground. Just in time too. The fireball was the last straw. The ground below and around Agram collapses. An all out assault hits Agram directly and causes him to fall down with the land and lava into the Core through an old shadow geyser hole. We all gather together and Orwin speaks up: "We cannot just stand here. We must fight Agram down there. Not even he would be able to recover very fast from a fall like that." All of us agree with that logic and so, we end up going down there through various means of transportation to find Agram standing proudly with rage clearly present, the malevolence coming from him was felt by all. I have a bad feeling about this too. By now, the Sun has nearly reached the beginning of its setting. In the night, Agram will be too powerful to stop. This is where we make our final stand to beat Agram once and for all, surrounded by a dimly light at times but mostly dark realm that was twisted by the Shadow Magi over a period of 3000 years. He yells: "YOU ARE ALL GOING TO PAY! I will destroy you and everything you love effortlessly. Your doom will be now!"
He attacks all of us at once so we respond back just as fast. I switch out my sword for my guitar and scream: "Its time to shred! Yeeeeeaaaaaah! We won't give in, we won't let you have everything you want just like that. If it is your desire to rule over everything, you're going to have to earn that by stopping everyone who wants to stop you! It's hard to see, it's hard to strategize against someone like you. But we won't go down without one hell of a fight. You can break our bones, break our self esteems, and crush our dreams but giving up isn't something we'll let ourselves do anyway! You're in for it, the accumulation of determination, experience, pain, fear, anger, resilience, wounds, and dreams! We're going to fight for a Magi Nation! Until it's all over!" I stop and put away my guitar so I can get serious. I easily draw my sword out again and Agram laughs: "That was annoying but absolutely pathetic! You mortals don't stand a chance against me but seeing you try is so entertaining I don't want to destroy any of you right now anymore! Go ahead, do your worst. I will be able to take it and prove you don't stand a chance against me, Magi!" We all respond in our own ways. I yell: "In that case, try my 2nd best move multiple times in a row! This will keep you waiting around for sure! Haaaaaaa! Extremely Risky Spin Slash!"
I more quickly than ever form my attack and send it right at Agram, dealing damage to surrounding rocks but not him. Luckily, my attack is also a temporary source of light for all of us, temporarily increasing accuracy for the attacks unleashed by the others. That was especially helpful to the likes of Tony. But wait, there's more. Agram is actually shocked I managed to unleash my attack so quickly: "How could a mortal send out such a powerful and cowardly attack so quickly?" I smirk: "Up until this point, I've not been taking the creation of my move completely seriously. I just did it calmly and thought about other things, I still was able to do it in good time of course but I wasn't fully pushing myself. But now, I have decided to focus on my attack and put in the effort to create it faster than ever." Since he's decided to let us live for now, I take my time to rest a little after that. But then, Bray unleashes a powerful blast on Agram, providing an opening for me to quickly form my signature attack and release it just as fast as before. It doesn't do much damage to him but it does help wear him down a little bit. And for that, I am very happy and grateful. Once this crap is over with, I'd love to have a real nice and relaxing chill day. I'm going to work to that even if it means I have to take on another mission today and deal with whatever is going on there.
Before I can charge up my 3rd instance of the attack this round, I spot Yu commanding Libra to use Infernal Fire Blast. Instantly, I yell over to him: "Yu! Don't do it! We are underground and if you do it here, the whole Core could collapse on us and take much of the surface Moonlands down with it!" "Oh yeah! Sorry about that! In that case, Libra! Sonic Buster!" And just like that, Flame Libra goes underneath Agram, trapping him in a sand trap created by the power of Sonic Buster. The Core is big enough to where those sonic waves only really got the rocky floor around our enemy. Agram struggles to get out of it: "You fools are even more clever than I thought! I will get out of this and let you have your fun until I get sick of watching you all try to defeat me! That will make destroying all of you that much sweeter!" As this went on, I unleashed my attack for the 3rd time and then, concentrated so much that I only spent 100 seconds making and sending out 5 more of them. In the end, I'm completely beat: "Arg! My muscles! They burn! I reached my new limit with this attack! Fascinatingly, this body of mine is able to keep increasing in physical strength without the same limits as my original body has. So interesting but damn it! I only put a few scratches on Agram with all of that and further entrapped him with the sand Libra created by those sonic waves. Now that he's free, Agram must be furious! Crap!" Agram sure enough is furious: "Ive had enough of all of you! You mortals must die! I'll start with the pathetic sword fighter!"
I gulp and then, he comes at me with no one able to stop him. If they tried to stop him, they'd only get pushed back so everyone has little choice but to fight him from a distance while he's occupied with me. That's when I realize something painfully obvious: "My arms may be toast but my legs aren't. In fact, my legs are more muscular than my arms due to so much walking and running over the years. I should have figured this out sooner. Oh well. A kick would only hurt me instead of you and I cannot use my weapons with my legs or feet so there's only one thing left I can do. RUN!" I take off in a sprint and move in a zig zag direction while Agram flies after me and tried to fry me with energy blasts. After several minutes of this, my legs gave out and I collapsed into the rock. "You thought you could outrun me forever? Hahaha don't make me be even more amused than I already am! Now it's time for me to destroy you!" In seconds, he pummels me and is able to rip a part of my cloak off and destroy part of my helmet before blasting the exposed hair and skin: "Damn you Agram.. This hurts and you're going to kill me in cold blood right here. I'm finished. You're using your full power now, I can see that since you are sending out so much void energy. Oh look, the Final Dreamers are coming to save me from death. They're charging at you from behind. You'll take a considerable amount of damage if you keep trying to snuff the life out of me instead of focusing on something that requires your full attention."
"How dare you tell me what to do! Fine, I will look! But if you're lying, I will destroy every fabric of your being right in front of everyone!" He turns around and I use the chance to shout: "Quantum Leap! Take me to an area I could watch the battle and not be attacked again while my life fades away!" I teleport away right as Agram turns back around and is about to completely obliterate me. Now I'm on a rocky ledge with a severe wound that is bleeding. I don't have much more time. I don't know if I will make it out of this mission alive but if I do, I'm willing to risk everything again if it means someone who hurts others for their own benefit and amusement is beaten in the end. The homeostasis in my body is collapsing, my organs will shut down soon without enough oxygen being carried around. I have a hole where much of my hair should be. It hurts like hell. I hope someone is able to save me because right now, no one could without failing miserably and suffering a horrible death. Pulling my phone out, I weakly try to communicate an urgent request for help but my hands are trembling and my throat is dry with a knot in my throat. My phone falls from my unsteady hands. I barely manage to pick it up and put it back in my pocket successfully. Yu and Libra are taken down next. The blader and the bey combine their spirits into one, forcing Agram back with sonic waves. It works really well for about 30 seconds: "Come on Libra! We have to keep this up together! Agram can't be allowed to hurt anyone else! Must push on. Come on, you can do it Libra!" Just when that stops working, Anna tried to help them out: "Go, Gustav Max, run over Agram! You too, Rocket Arrow Express and Dreadnought!" But the trains don't make it in time.
Our foe groans in frustration: "Enough of your annoying attacks, mortal! You and your spinning top will be destroyed! I don't know where the one I have destroy already went but I'm sure he's dead now! No mortal could survive an injury like that for long! Now join him in the misery of death and destruction!" Him? I may be dying but I still don't think it's cool for people to assume gender identities or misgender others. Yesterday, Dominic told me that there were an enormous amount of missions to deal with today. It's looking like I will never see him again while alive. Libra is heavily damage and is sent flying with Yu. They land in awful shape. Yu is on the verge of death now too. And it still takes too long to slip away from Agram while fighting him using Quantum Leap. At least I can watch the last stands of everyone before my life ends when my life isn't flashing before me. Memories flood in. The dream Miitopia world. That batshit nuts jerk who tortured me and Austin Halloween 2018 in the town of Fun Land. The forced retreat of the SDL the first time we fought him. That magical school. Acquiring my first sword and over 109 number card. Austin and I's romance before we called it off, preferring to be close friends instead. The day I arrived in Fun Land. Meeting Pirate Blaster and collecting eggs to trade in to Zipper T Bunny. Being sent to Kings Island's Soak City while fighting Gorganan and chasing after him there. So many memories.
Anna's trains arrive to crush Agram but he has other plans. With a simple touch, he destroys all of them, even the number card train Anna possesses. I forgot that he counts as a number because he is merged with 10 numbers. And Anna's explosive rockets do nothing to delay the beat down she received. Agram then defeats every dream creature and forces all of them back to the Dream Plane. That put Tony, Orwin, and several others in tight spots. The strength of Magi relies on the bond between human and dream creature. Oh how I wish some of the more pompous and egotistical heroes could see this. Maybe they'd understand finally what being a hero should truly be about. That's why I kind of agree with Hero Killer Stain's ideology but I don't agree with the method of killing heroes mercilessly. It's better to skip the heroes and go at the people who are really responsible for the illusions of safety, freedom, stability, and happiness created by society. Anyway, it takes mere minutes for Agram to decimate the rest of the Magi Resistance and those of us from BRAINS who came here to obtain number cards and stop this crap. We are all hurt really badly and so very much out of energy and strength. But, Tony stands up defiantly right in front of Agram even though his right arm has definitely seen better days. My vision hasn't even blurred from all that I'm losing, I'm grateful for that because this is one of those infamous hero moments that always seems to catch whoever they're fighting off guard and irritate them at the same time.
"I.. I won't give up. Not when all of the Moonlands and Earth are at stake! I can't just give in when there are people counting on us to stop you and bring peace back to the Moonlands! Edyn! Strag! Everyone! Are you with me?" I slowly get myself to my feet with the sheer power of adrenaline, I am so exhausted and so close to death right now. It turns out we are all not far from each other: "I have so little *coughs* left. I can barely talk as it is. *heavy breathing* But I'm still alive. That's what matters. I will stand with you, Tony. There's one last set of things I can use before I perish." "I shall not give up either. My magic is on low and it's been a long time since I've been this close to death. Regardless, I have a duty and I will see it through to the end!" Everyone else make their own speeches as I use the very few Miitopian sprinkles I forgot I had on me. The HP sprinkles slow the bleeding a little and heal a small part of my wound, the hyper sprinkle gives me a short term surge of energy and causes positive emotions to flood my brain, and the shield sprinkle will protect me from one attack of Agram's. With all that I have left, I send out one last Extremely Risky Spin Slash with more passion than ever and yell until I lose my voice: "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! If I'm going to die, I'm going to go out my way! EXTREMELY RISKY SPIN SLASSSSSSSSSH!" My powered up attack stuns Agram and I collapse again as the others send out their last attacks as well.
The enemy freaks out: "How do you mortals have that much left? Just collapse and die already!" He attacks me but the shield protects me from harm. I weakly smile at that as he gives up on me and focuses on others who have longer to live than I do. As my last action, I hold my sword up high with my right hand to show a little bit of symbolism. The meaning is that I will die without losing my passion and spirit. Now that is an honorable warrior's death. I gave it my all, that's what matters. My vision begins to go black as the pain that is causing my entire nervous system to scream intensifies in my last moments of life in this body. Every sound around me feels distant like they're far away and I'm underwater. Soon, I will only live in one body which I'm more likely to quickly die in on a planet with a dying ecosystem. A smile is plastered to my face as I hear and see less and less. My thoughts slow down and become far and few in between. But as my vision is about to go black for good, an overwhelming green light becomes the only thing I see. Just when I thought I was experiencing my final thought, the pain I felt vanished and my vision became full and clear again. Next, the fatigue I had melted away like chocolate in the mouth. Something or rather someone has saved my life at the last possible moment. Bray is only 30 meters away from me but all I can really see of her is her overwhelming aura obscuring most of her features. She did it. Bray triggered her ultimate strength right when we needed it most.
Looking around, I see through the glows the aura is giving off that everyone else is okay now too. With that in mind, I stand back up and proudly raise my sword higher than before: "I have the greatest friends I could ask for! Magic users have strengths that compliment the flaws and weaknesses of warriors such as myself, meaning they aid us so we don't have to worry about those flaws and weaknesses! Bray, thank you so much for the save. Now then, it's time we push back against Agram, isn't it?" A familiar voice I've only heard while watching the Magi Nation show shouts out: "Not without us!" To our shock, more Magi show up to help us. At the same time, the Citadel is magically sent through the sky and stops right on top of the widened hole originally made by that old shadow geyser. Agram tries to destroy it: "You persistent mortals! You don't know when to give up and be destroyed already! I can't stand any of you! But how would you feel if your precious Citadel were completely destroyed right now, right in front of you as you helplessly attempt to defeat me?" He tries to destroy the Citadel but Bray is ready for that: "Ultimate Righteous Anger! Fire! Tower Of Flame!" From what Blaze told me after they trained with Bray for an intense 2 hour session, she has been able to up the limit of her ultimate power to 10 minutes. That means Agram won't be killing anyone for 10 minutes. Thank goodness.
Her attack stops Agram's and deals a decent dent on his body: "That was awesome! Come on, let's keep up that momentum! We'll make you eat your words, Agram! Extremely Risky Spin Slash! Haaaaaaaa!" It's an all out attack, we're pushing ourselves again but this time, Agram won't be able to kill or hurt us very easily. In fact, Edyn casts an illumination spell and Bray casts a healing spell. Combined, those two spell turn the tide of battle toward us for once! Finally, I can go crazy like I wanted to after I used that hyper sprinkle: "Enough is enough! It's time to go beyond, go Plus Ultra! Haaaaaaa! I am now allowed to shatter my own physical limits. Check out my strongest attack! At long last, I can use it again! Let me reveal our collective resolve and forged bonds! An attack so wonderful and well designed it transcends far beyond the scope of most art forms! Great Infernal Tornado Slash!" I create a massive fire tornado, it previously devastated Tomura Shigaraki and now, it gets better: "I'm healing so fast that my muscles are refreshed while firing that attack so fast they should be shredded up! You're so going to take a lot of damage now! Now then, everyone get back! I'm going to keep sending out these attacks until my body visibly aches at which point I will simply rely on my 2nd best attack!" And so, a torrent of fire tornadoes nail Agram and combine into an even bigger one.
Bray shouts towards me: "My healing spell will only last a little longer! Be prepared to drain yourself again! I shall keep you and everyone else safe!" "Got it! This tornado should damage and hold back Agram more than enough for our wants and needs. Comrades, combine your moves with my tornado! Let's see how much damage we can deal to Agram at once now!" And so, things get so wild that not even Agram could send out any sort of counter, he has to wait out the storm so to speak. Bray's spell wears off. I simply smirk: "I ain't done yet! I can do 3 of my 2nd best attack at once but it will drain the energy and strength I regained thanks to you, Bray. It's worth it though, we need to keep amplifying the giant fire tornado. Luckily, it won't touch or hit the ceiling so we just have to watch our steps." The others agree and I do my thing wordlessly to preserve my also restored voice. I'm now wiped for the upteenth time and on my last legs in terms of energy. My tornado dissipates to reveal some really bad news. We barely made a few dents in him with ALL of that. This can't be happening! I calm myself down and raise my sword up again to get the attention of the others: "Listen please! I just came up with an idea. I don't care if you want to do it or not. It's completely optional. I'm doing it with what I got left. We can't damage Agram with our attacks, he is simply way too powerful to be beaten by us like this. Instead, let's drain his energy! He's looking a little exhausted right now. We have forced him to use his full power. If we can drain him enough, we might have a fighting chance of winning this and making it out alive. We might even force him into the core dreamstone which possibly could undo Agram's possession of the hyren. It's risky but what other options do we even have?"
Most of the others not only listen to the idea but enact it. Together, we began to distract Agram. I pull out my guitar again and scream once more but this time, I scream as loud and as long as I can with a bunch of oooooooos. I even use the moves I've learned from performing on stage up till a year ago or so to avoid Agram's blasts. As I did this, a lot of other distractions went on. Yu ran around and mocked Agram: "Hey Agram! I bet you can't catch me even if you try your hardest! Also, you're grumpier than Yo Yo and I don't like that! In fact, you stink too!" "WHY YOU PESKY MORTAL?!" Yu sticks his tongue out: "You can't catch me! You can't catch me! You may have broken Libra but you haven't broken me! Take that! Why can't you just be nice like Ben Ben and Gingky? You're worse than Mr. Buttinsky!" At the same time as that, Bray summoned a magical rift. Immediately, it begins to slowly drain magic and other energy away from Agram. At first, he is too distracted by Yu to notice. But after Yu trips and then throws loose rocks at him, he yells: "WHY IS MY ENERGY BEING DRAINED?! IM THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER DOES THAT!" Judai replies as he fuses Neos and Yubel together into Neos Wiseman: "Our sage pal is who you should thank! While Yu was bothering you, she cast a magical rift that only affects you!" Julia adds: "That's Bray for ya alright! Woohoo! Tower Of Flame!" 5 more minutes of this passes and Agram only gets angrier until I react to the sky: "Everyone! The Sun is setting, we're going to fail at this rate!" His anger turns into triumphant joy. However, that joy is shattered soon enough. Orwin has Shirdor use Flying Vortex several times over after successfully summoning the dream creature back from the Dream Plane.
That ticks Agram off again and he sets his sights on Orwin with nothing but pure rage and hatred. But he wouldn't even put a scratch on Shirdor or Orwin. I activate my duel disk and draw until I get the right cards. "Accidentally" dropping a Defusion spell card, I declare: "I activate the spell card Polymerization! With it, I can summon a fusion monster using the required materials from my hand and/or field! I fuse myself with all of the Guardian Hyrens that aren't under Agram's control, the Magi Resistance, and my comrade teammates I came to this world with. That allows us to fusion summon." The Polymerization portal appears and sucks in everyone except Agram. As I get sucked in, I watch Agram's expression turn into one of pure fear and worry. I lay back and relax. Agram is going to get creamed big time now. In seconds, I see through the eyes, hear through the ears, and feel through the nerves of someone new. Their skin is blue, eyes are silver, hair is long and rainbow colored, and height is the same as an Enderman's. They are wearing a long forest green robe with a oddly shaped purple weapon that has a blue gem in the middle of it in their hand. This fusion's face is both soft and hardened, their shoes are orange and yellow, and their ears may be in the same positions as human ears but they look more like dragon ears. Out of their back is a set of beautiful and shiny red wings.
*Meanwhile on King/North Kai's Planet* "GOKU! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO STOP COMING HERE TO TRAIN?! You always wreck my planet! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS PLANET HAS GONE THROUGH EVEN BEFORE YOU SENT CELL HERE WITH YOU AS HE BLEW UP IN SIZE TO EXPLODE?!" Goku replies sheepishly: "Vegeta is too busy to train with Beerus. And Whis and Beerus are on a trip to find any good non Earth cuisine. The Supreme Kais are away meeting with Chappa from Universe 6 for some reason. Mr. Popo told me they can't have anyone at Kami's Lookout right now because there's something strange going on." "THEN TRAIN ON A UNPOPULATED PLANET AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" "But uh, I like training here." "Goku, that's no excuse. Now- Hey? Did you feel that?!" "Yeah, I did. I didn't before notice there's an incredibly high power level somewhere far away from here until now. Now, there's another one where weaker power levels used to be. I'm so confused." North Kai sighs. *With Dominic and others who are on a rescue mission* "Dominic?" "What is it, Pirate Blaster?" "There be 2 incredibly high power levels over yonder from another universe! Arrr! That can only mean trouble! Thrashbeak! Come here Thrashbeak!" "You don't need to call Thrashbeak just to vent about those power levels. But I can feel them too. One of my gadgets has identified the source: the Moonlands. Adam and the others are in grave danger. But we can't help them right now. As soon as we're done resolving this mess, we're going there, okay? Try not to worry too much, I have faith they will conquer whatever is going on."
*Back to the main adventure* Agram is shocked: "Fusion? But only the Final Dreamers could ever do that! Who are you?" "I am the Infinite Dreamer." "That's it?" "I do not need to talk much to get my intentions and identity across. I cannot be defeated by you in one single attack. Now then, I will defeat you once and for all with one attack of my own. I have calculated my power level and how much I can put into one attack. I have also discovered your power level amount and found that I will leave you facing the ground, speechless." "No, you'll be the one who is like that until I destroy you! With you gone, the Final Dreamers and all the others will be gone right alongside you! I can't wait to have my long awaited revenge on the Moonlands!" I am able to connect to the mind of the Infinite Dreamer and I very quickly learn a lot. They have 0 weaknesses or flaws. The sheer amount of power, knowledge, and energy they have is ridiculous. Their power level exceeds Agram's current power level and is greater than the sum of all of our power levels. Fused together, our weaknesses and flaws are erased by contradicting strengths from others. And with all that combined wisdom and knowledge, they have no doubts about the battle at all, they know exact what they're going to do. Few could stand up to the Infinite Dreamer in the majority of close by universes. Someone like All For One would be killed instantly by the Infinite Dreamer simply poking them lightly.
Then, the Infinite Dreamer simply says one word for their one and only attack during the battle: "Ending." They harness 95% of the power inside of them including the connection to the creative force I have to make one small but deadly orb of energy. Wordlessly, they throw it right at Agram and stare at him in a calm way that makes the Shadow Magi nervous. In response, Agram uses most of his energy to attack but his counter attack just vanishes upon touching the Infinite Dreamer's Ending: "Impossible! Noooooo!" The attack lands and Agram is sent flying and just as predicted, lands headfirst into the rock floor which has been broken up into many smaller chunks due to all the fighting. The Infinite Dreamer starts to split back into us: "I used much energy. I cannot continue to exist until I am needed again now. Bye." And then, poof. They are gone and in their place isall of us. Ow. Bray may have healed me but my wound is still there. I am so exhausted. The Defusion spell card I dropped is on the ground right by me but I can't even bring myself to try reaching for it. Edyn is next to me and is able to get up: "Edyn.. You must pick up that card I dropped. Do you see it? It reads Defusion towards the top. Take it and cast it with your magical abilities. I can't do it myself." "But what's the point of doing that?" I weakly point to Agram: "Him. Please do it, I insist. You are the only one of us all to have gotten up so far. If you don't, Agram will recover and kill us all. Quickly! The Sun has almost finished setting! There's no time! I can see it almost finished setting from here!" She picks up the card and holds it in the direction of Agram: "I cast Defusion!"
A little bit of magic comes out of the card and hits Agram but does nothing: "But you said it would work! Why is it not doing anything?" Agram starts crying out in pain: "Make it stop! No! I'm being separated! Stop it! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!" A few seconds later, Agram is in spirit form screaming while the Core Hyren lies unconscious with the 10 number cards coming out of him one by one. Bray's magical rift hasn't faded just yet. It opens wider for Agram. We all manage to watch as he screams as the rift takes him away: "I will make you all pay for this one day! The Moonlands will be mine and you will all be destroyed! Once I gather my forces back, you won't be so lucky ever again! Enjoy the brief peace you will have in the Moonlands because it won't last forever! I will return and you mortals will be doomed!" We hear him scream one last time as the rift closes upon taking him in.
*Following Agram's defeat, a different universe* Agram found himself on an Earth that has been ravaged by war and genocide. This Earth was in ruins, the remains of a once great bridge that connected 2 divided cities back together was in the background as were bodies and an army of destroyed sinister robots: "What is this? Where am I now? Is this the Earth in the aftermath of our battle?" The mysterious figure appears: "No, no it isn't. This is an Earth in a timeline that was devastated and eventually erased completely. This is what I desire to do to all worlds full of life. Join me, Shadow Magi Agram. Become part of the Annihilation Council. Together, we will conquer and defeat everyone and everything that has ever gotten in the way of darkness and cruelty. The Final Dreamers, everyone you fought today, and so much more will one day perish because of us. Embrace your fate, you are to come with me and see what working with others without hate for them can do for your devious plans! If you don't, you will have no future just like this Earth. The Meklord Genocide destroyed this world. The foolishness of mortals led to that, they got greedy and wanted too much for themselves." "Why should I trust you? I've been betrayed several times by Korg, Zed, and Chur!" "That may be true but I have so many reasons to let you into my life. You see, I have recruited others like you who have been completely humiliated by these so called heroes. Every one I recruit has died in some way. If I betray you, you have enough power to destroy some of my best recruits regardless. Think of what you can do together with me. Do you feel it? The power I have? Don't you want that power for yourself?" "On one condition, I lead your little group." "Not going to happen. You have said that tens of thousands of times before. And then, you begrudgingly accept my offer because you have nowhere else to go and I predicted that you would." "Fine but this doesn't mean we're friends." "Oh don't worry, we all hate friendship in the Annihilation Council."
*Back to Swiftdrawer's POV of the aftermath of Agram's 4th defeat* The Sun has just finished setting and it begins to really become night. We can even hear some crickets begin to stir in the darkness of nighttime. The Core Hyren wakes up: "Thank you so much everyone for freeing me from Agram and those cards! Being controlled again was horrible! Do you have any clue how painful it is to be possessed by a parasite for hundreds of years? I do! But anyway, I must get going, I have to get back to protecting my realm." The other hyrens have the same sentiment and say goodbye to all of us before returning to the Moonlands realms they guard and protect. Then, the 10 number cards mysteriously fly off to the different realms of the world and scattered among them. Edyn expresses concern: "Our new friends failed to get those numbers and they'll just spark more problems for the Moonlands! We have to get them back as soon as possible!" I slowly put my right hand on her shoulder as I finally managed to get back up and smile: "It's going to be okay. We'll discuss more in the Citadel but I have some things for you, Tony, and Strag. *pulls out 3 number cards* We've managed to catch 315 of the missing number cards so far. I want you to take these 3 and give one each to Tony and Strag while keeping the other. I doubt you will need our help. Take these numbers and use them to find and capture the other 10." She accepts and distributes them: "Okay, I will. I mean, we will." I smile again. Then, Bray teleports all of us into the Citadel's meeting room, easily bypassing all the magical protections placed on the Citadel.
She then heals all of us again to the best of her abilities with the remaining magic she has left. Orwin speaks up, causing everyone in the room to go quiet: "Thank you for joining us here in the Citadel. We have defeated Agram again. He was never this difficult to defeat before but thanks to our new allies, we were able to succeed. Each and every one of us had a brush with death today. I wish all of you a safe journey home and quick recovery. We are going to need it after risking our lives like that. As leader of Vash Naroom, I thank our allies from BRAINS on behalf of Naroom for helping us save all of the Moonlands from Agram's clutches. The Final Hyren may be gone but now, the hyrens are back and will protect us all when they are needed mostly. Additionally, I'd like to request the formation of a Moonlands BRAINS in order to keep contact with BRAINS. It is in our best interest to work with them in the event of future problems." Bray walks over to him and replies: "Thank you Orwin for your words! I shall on behalf of BRAINS accept your request. Adam, please present the necessary stuff to officially recognize the formation of the new BRAINS branch."
I nod, take my mask off, put my cloak hood down, and crack a smile as I pull out some papers plus a logo design: "I had a feeling we'd be needing these so I put them in a safe spot within my backpack. Welcome to BRAINS, Orwin. If anyone wants to join, just write your name down on that top piece of paper. Here's a pen for that. In a few days, the branch will be finished forming. I also have a request. Please find a secure and secret hard to reach location for a base for your branch of BRAINS as soon as possible. There is no pressure or rush though." The Moonlanders all sign up and just after they do, Pirate Blaster, Dominic, and Thrashbeak show up: "What are you guys doing here?" "Hey Adam! Sorry we're late. What happened to you? You look like you almost died!" "Oh yeah, I was on my very last thought, breath, and second of seeing anything out of my eyes at one point. We've had a really long day and battle." "Well, I'm glad we got here when we did because your new friends look really battered too. Give me a second, I have a machine I put inside a capsule for storage that will take care of those wounds scientifically in an instant! Now where did I put that thing?" Tony gives me a funny look: "Who are they?" "Some awesome friends I've fought alongside with for several years. The scientist is Dominic, the pirate is Pirate Blaster, and the parrot is Thrashbeak. Oh and my muscles are sore as hell. I'm going to feel that in the morning. Ow!"
Pirate Blaster greets everyone as Dominic fumbles around while mumbling: "Yar arr! Hello landlubbers, sealubbers, and skylubbers, I'm Pirate Blaster and this is my best friend Thrashbeak! No, he's not a pet, he's a friend! We know all about you because Adam is a nerdlubber!" "That was very corny, Blaster. Very corny. But it's funny." "Squawk! Everyone here is kind, everyone here is kind! Squawk!" Strag asks: "Is your friend always like this?" "Arr yes he is! Just don't anger him, you'd be wishing you were licking fake treasure instead if you were to!" I laugh at that: "This is why they're my friends and comrades. They're unique, badass, based, and hilarious!" Then, Dominic holds up a capsule: "Found it! I knew taking a brief field trip with the other scientists in BRAINS to the Dragon Ball Multiverse was worth it! Ah ha! Behold, my instantaneous injury reversing healing ray or IRHR for short! I spent hours tinkering to get it right! Almost cost me a whole night of sleep! I wanted a nap after our mission before we got here but now, I want to show all of you what this thing can do! Adam! You first!" "Wow, Dominic! You haven't been bouncy like this in a long while!" I go to him and he presses a button. Instantly, my wound ceases to exist, all that's left is a faint scar. My hair even grew back: "See! It works! Though to be honest, I now want to nap again. Socially interacting with so many faces is not something I'm used to outside of battles or BRAINS bases. Let's get this healing over with. Just please stand in place everyone, I will turn the machine around and around until no one looks like they just got out of a brutal war zone. Ugh war, just the thought of it makes me want to take a nap even more. Oh well."
30 seconds pass and everyone looks better. Plus, Bray easily fixes my helmet and cloak with a simple repair spell. An awkward silence fills the room. Julia breaks it: "I'm so bored! What do we do now?" Edyn replies: "We're having a party back in Naroom, everyone back home has already prepared everything even though the city was damage a lot! Evu told me through a spell that it's all been repaired now! And everyone here is invited to the party!" Dominic yawns: "A party? I'm not sure if I want to go." I respond: "I would say the same but Naroom parties unlike other parties feel like the opposite of a buzzkill and likely will not involve me just sitting around somewhere talking to nobody the whole time and thinking to myself. Come on dude, I can tell that that mission you were on was frustrating. We all need to let loose a little but I doubt the party will be enough to release all the tension from fighting for me." It's settled, Dominic teleports all of us to the party and we get to it right away. The night goes on with lots of smiles around and I actually spent the whole time talking to people, eating, drinking, and dancing casually. Nothing big because I'm too sore to go wild with the dancing. Bray and I actually have big joyful smiles for once in our lives. What a success.
After the party was over, Dominic collected the papers I handed out that we needed back and we assured the Magi Resistance that we'd take care of the rest soon. We then all went our separate ways and blah blah blah. What I didn't know was the strange mission I was going to go on next. *Read that adventure in Chapter 5 of Redundant Apocalypses* *At the same time, unknown location*
Don Thousand in his menacing red and black demon form chuckles: "It's all coming together very slowly. They all think I'm gone and defeated but no, I've tricked them all! For years, I have festered the seeds of chaos with Barian crystals and Barian's Force. Soon, I will begin my plan. Pmurt Nedib is going to betray Yappa Yappa and kill him. I will use that opportunity to take Yappa Yappa as my own. Together, we will use what's left of my loyal Barian forces and the United Mining Company's men, power, resources, and technology to lay waste to all dimensions one by one after he disposed of Pmurt Nedib. In this building, not even Astral can sense me. My little spawn, Number 96 just can't wait to get what he wants. He will definitely help me in order to get all that." He chuckles again while holding a blank card that is glowing with Barian power: "All of the numbers will be ours and Astral society and Heartland City will be the first to fall. I wonder how much of Leo Akaba's former Obelisk Force we can use and if we'll ever find Herobrine. I hope Demon Lord Morroc is able to be successfully revived. I will help him if he is revived. A strong ally like him will prove useful now that all my former Barian Emperors have become human and want nothing to do with me."
*In another unknown place* "How much longer until we can begin the nuclear war?" "About 2 years sir. Are you sure you want to go through with this among everything else?" "Yes. The more miserable the poor are, the better. There will be nothing left except the rich and powerful thriving and leeching off of everyone else like never before. It's going to be so much fun." *Yet another unknown place* "Project Mars has officially begun. The first human colonizers of the planet are on their way now. Remember underling, it is your job to make sure they stay in line and make us more rich than ever before. With Martian resources, we will rule the entire world!" "I know, I know. I won't let you down boss." Just what are these groups planning? Find out in 3 future stories: The Ultimate Interdimensional War, Extinction 2025, and Revolution Of The Martian Colony. Outro: Thank you for reading this pretty intense chapter of Veil Of Greed: Hunt For The Numbers! I have so much more in store for all of you! Stay connected with my stories and find out all of that and more gradually over time! I hope you liked it, I'd say it's a great ending for the 3 chapter Magi Nation arc. See ya next time!
