Snaketooth and Feathershine

It was a cold, leafbare night, clouds and stars covered the night and the full moon glowed that night. At the center of the Lightclan camp, a crowd had gathered around a dead body and mourned; it was Snaketooth's mother, Poppycloud. Snaketooth laid his head on top of Feathershine's and mourned. Feathershine was on the verge of tears as she looked at Poppycloud's old, sickly body and wondered if this is what was like? To have your body look so old but clean, and to be surrounded by your love ones; that would make life complete. She felt a tear land on her cheek and looked at Snaketooth. She smiled, every time Snaketooth showed his true self; this was one of the many reasons why she loved him and became his mate. Snaketooth always acted like a tough cat, but when around Feathershine, he was kind, scared, and sometimes more emotional than he usually was. Feathershine looked around and saw Icetuft and Daisypetal sitting down together with their ears down and crying, and everyone else sat down with either their ears flatten or not and were either crying or not. Another tear landed on Feathershine's cheek and she looked at her mate. Snaketooth looked at Feathershine with a worried and scared look.

"Promise me…promise that you'll never leave me." He meowed.

"I promise." Feathershine meowed calmly.

Snaketooth looked at his mate surprised, she was so calm, but then he realized that he could never dare make a cat promise something like that, he should've known that. Snaketooth licked her head as an act of love and a apology.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you keep such a promise, I know that you can't live forever and it wouldn't be fair to you or anyone else but…" he apologized.

"Snaketooth, it's okay. I know we can't live forever, but can you promise this; if anything were to happen to us, we'd guide the other to Starclan. Can you promise that?" Feathershine asked.

Snaketooth was surprised, but smiled at the wonderful idea. He licked Feathershine's head again.

"Of course I will, I love you." Snaketooth whispered.

"I love you too." Feathershine whispered back.

Many seasons later

Many seasons have passed and Feathershine was laying on the ground and was bleeding to death. She could hear the battle cries of cats all around her as cats from all clans were battling the dark forest. Feathershine looked and saw the dark forest tom she fought and saw him collapse to the ground and faded away, but Feathershine was no better. Her vision was getting blurry and she was in a lot of pain.

"FEATHERSHINE!" a voice yowled.

Feathershine looked and saw Lightstar run up to her and stop. He was catching his breath and had a few scratches on his pelt and had a horrified look on his face.

"MOM!" a voice yowled.

Feathershine looked and saw her daughters run up to her; following them were their mates and their kits. Feathershine was overjoyed to see her family surround her and care about her; even after all the mistakes she's made with Blightshine and Deertuft. Nearly everyone around her were crying and tears were streaming down their eyes. Feathershine felt at peace, like for the first time in a long time, she felt like her life was complete. Feathershine said her final goodbyes to her kits, grandkits, her son-in-laws, and to Lightstar. Lightstar surprisingly apologized to Feathershine for the pain he had caused her; he wasn't wrong, he did kill Snaketooth after all. Lightstar and Feathershine talked one last time, then Feathershine slowly passed away with the pain and vision fading. Feathershine woke up and saw Snaketooth in Starclan form, in front of her. She smiled and got up, she was now a Starclan cat and was going to Starclan and be reunited with her friends and family. Feathershine was overjoyed to see Snaketooth again and he licked her head and smiled warmly.

"I told you I'd keep my promise." Snaketooth meowed.

"I know, I love you so much" Feathershine purred.

"I love you too." Snaketooth meowed.
