Chapter Nine

"Bushy brows, this is Nami ne-chan," Naruto stated then looks at Nami and grin. Pointing his two friends, "This is bushy brows, and Neji, 'ttebayo."

Lee shook his hand with Nami as he introduced himself. "My name is Rock Lee, at your service!"

Nami laughed a bit from being enthusiastic but brush it off when she smiled. She noticed that the Neji- Naruto had just said, just nodded at her.

Neji stares at the lady. She did not seems to look older than him. Looking away from the orange haired woman and look at this blonde friend who is still grinning like an idiot while slurping his ramen. He took a sip from his soup as his eyes landed at the woman's outfit. A slight pink blush across his face. He shook his head. Was about to spoke to Naruto when Lee interrupt.

With a straight still, Lee smile at the beautiful lady showing his gorgeous teeth. 'What a wonderful lady! I can't get over it! I can feel her youthfulness through her! Gai-sensei will love to hear this!' his eyes twinkled in excitement. He cleared his throat while looking at the jounin and Naruto's ne-chan back and forth. "Genma-san," Lee took the jounin's attention. Genma raised a brow and Nami give him a smile while waiting for the next. "Are you two together?" He straight forward said.

Nami's face reddened at the question while Genma smirked. He didn't know why not prank them. Genma nodded. "Yes."

Nami's eyes widened. When she saw Genma's smugly smirk, she look down, shadow covering her eyes. Who even said Genma can say something like that? It was like she's hearing it from her pervert cook. Her fist trembles. That's when Genma saw Nami's expression and immediately tried to take his answer from Lee, Nami's fist landed to his hair and he felt like he's going to have a headache later. He let out a groan. .

Nami turned around to the bushy brows. "Oh, no he's just kidding. We're not together."

Lee's face from kinda disappointed, to light up. His face lit up when he hears Nami's correction. "Nice! I'm not kinda happy when Genma-san nodded," Lee said honestly.

Nami is confused. 'Why?' she was supposed to say something when she heard Naruto's burp. She smiles, remembering his captain.

Naruto looks at Nami. "Where are you staying, 'ttebayo?"

Her eyebrows lifts, narrowing her eyes to the blonde. "Oh, I have an apartment near Genma's."

"Then..." Naruto paused. Thinking for another question. "Ah! How old are you?"

"20."

"Um... Where are you from?"

Nami frowns a little. 'This... Ugh, so many questions Naruto!'

"I thought I'm done with the interrogation," She asked teasingly, looking at Naruto.

"Huh?" The clueless blonde said. His eyes then shut in a seconds and pink blush in his cheeks appears. "He.. hehehe... N-nevermind then, dattebayo," he embarrassingly scratch the back of his neck.

Neji sighed. He too wants to know where the woman lives before. He now know her age and as he expected, she's two years older. He sighed again. 'Not too long gap though... Damn, why am I even thinking this.'

"The bills' on me," Neji announced. Genma instantly shakes his head disapprovingly.

"No in way, Hyuga," he answered back.

"No. I already have said it, Shiranui-san. "

"And I disagree," Genma shot back.

"Like-" Neji didn't even finish his sentence when Naruto cursed.

"Dang it, 'ttebayo! Why are you even fighting over bills? Why don't you just share?!"

Nami nodded. Of course, she's on favor on this argument. She did not need to pay for what she eaten. They had just finished their ramen and those two gentleman decided to pay. They're so generous because of the numbers of Naruto's bowl, their wallet might cry.

"Very well Shiranui-san. The bills' yours. I thank you for the treat," Neji decided approvingly.

Genma chew his senbon as he pay in the counter.

Nami yawn. "What a nice evening, right Naruto?" She looked at Naruto. He nodded with a grin. She turned to Lee and Neji. "Thank you and nice meeting you two," she smiles at them sweetly.

Neji felt like he melted because of the smile. Such a sweet orange. He nodded. While Lee smiles widely that brought up a bright star in his teeth. "It's my pleasure, Nami-san!" He chanted. Nami smiled.

"Let's go Nami-san, we need to go," Genma who was back from paying the old man, said behind their back. They turned to look at him.

"Thank you for the treat, Genma-san!" Lee said. Genma waved his hand dismissingly. Lee glance at Naruto. "By the way, Naruto-kun, do you want to join our training tomorrow morning?"

Said blonde nodded. "Sure thing, bushy brow! Wait, is it your team?" He asked

"Yes!" He then looks at Nami. "Do you want perhaps to join us? It's just like— are you a shinobi?"

Nami shakes her head. "Nah."

Lee shook his head. "No it's okay Nami-san! I can teach you our taijutsu! It is if you like."

Nami tilted. "Taijutsu?"

"Yes. Taijutsu is my specialty because I'm not lucky to use ninjutsu." Lee nodded.

'Ah... Hehe. What the heck are Taijutsu and Ninjutsu?!' Nami thought furiously. She calmed herself. 'heh, it's a training... Is it like Zoro's training?' "Ah okay, count me in," she nodded then Lee and Naruto jumps happily.

She shook her head. A clear throat stop her and glance back to Genma. She looked around. "Okay. It's getting late, Genma and I need to go home."

Naruto, Lee and Neji nodded understandingly while Genma nodded with a smug face. The three growled at him. Genma laughed. Nami elbowed his gut.

"Let's go," she said to her neighbor. "Have a nice evening boys..." She walked away while Genma followed her.

Nami yawned again. "Wa, I'm tired! I wonder what my idiot captain was doing," she said out loud.

Genma still holding her shopping bags from earlier, "Why do you want to go back to your team?"

Nami stops her thoughts, "Yes, my crew," she paused. "Well, they're the reason why I'm not giving up. And now that I think about it, I missed them..."

Genma sighed, did not know what to reply, Nami continue.

"I- I want my friends to be here with me. You're all kind. From Tsunade-sama to Naruto. My captain will obviously like Naruto."

She didn't get a response from him so she smiled. They reached their apartment. Unlocking the doorknob key, they both got inside.

"Just put those bag in the couch," she stated, he did what he was told.

"What are you planning for your vacant room anyway?" He opened a topic.

She looked at the vacant room's way. "Ah, yes. I'm planning to set that as my study room or rather, my map room."

"Map room?"

"Yes, I'm a navigator after all."

Genma nodded. 'What a clever girl. With that vibes she's using... Damn.'

"Oh, I guess you're going to join me to join Lee and Naruto's training, ne?"

Genma sighed defeated. "Unfortunately, yes."

Nami smiled even wider. Smile faded when she forgot about asking Naruto for her problems. She shrugged. She'll talk to him tomorrow after their suppose training. After all, she needs to go back to her crew.
