Hello everyone. Before anything I just want to say thank you to everyone who's been support. It truly means a lot to me, just to know that I'm not only making these chapters for myself but for the small amount of people who actually follow it is really motivational and inspiring to make this the absolute best I can.

I can admit at times I feel like I'm rushing Adam pacing wise and I apologize if it comes off like that.

90% of the time fan fictions that have to deal with oc's always start of weak then get extremely strong as time goes on. With Adam I wanted it to be presented that he was already an established character in the world in a sense.

Kind of similar to if you've ever watched Seven Deadly Sins all of them are already established in the world so to speak. Only difference is Adam isn't broken in their regard XD.

Also I don't really have set in stone Arc's so to say planned out. The farthest arc I have thought about is the Oracion Seis Arc and even then I have no idea what I'm going to do there. So if you any suggestions on what you want or think should happen feel free to express it in either reviews or pms.

But I think I've done enough talking let's get into the chapter :)

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any Fairytail or any characters outside of my Original Characters.

Chapter 3: Stubborn As Iron

Magnolia: The Caledonia

It's currently 10:15 in Magnolia. Adam Alastair is fast asleep in The Caledonia Estate a luxury apartment space where he's been staying.

After spending a few days with the Fairytail Guild, Though it's still weird being in the dynamic of the Fairytail guild. Adam has begun to get a general feel for the guild and some of there members.

Like how Natsu Dragneel reminds him a lot of Leonidas Regula, one of the five Division Commanders of the Guardian Unit. Very hot headed, impatient, and stubborn. And then there's Erza Scarlet who reminds him of himself in a lot of ways.

But it seems like the young man is waking up.

Adam's eyes slowly begin to open as he wakes up. He sits up slowly doing an involuntary stretch and yawn combo.

Then as if gravity no longer exist falls right back into the king sized bed he has just staring at his ceiling. After about a minute of just staring at his ceiling he lets his thoughts roam for a bit.

"It's really been almost a week since I've been with Fairytail." Adam says out loud in minor disbelief.

Another minute passes before he snaps out of his daze and gets out his bed wearing nothing more than boxers. He walks down a flight of stairs downstairs to his kitchen and grabs himself an energy bar.

While peeling off the top of the wrapper he walks over to his balcony taking a deep breathe of fresh air and looking around at the world in front of him.

"Magnolia..." Adam says taking a bite out of his energy bar and chewing for a bit before finishing his sentence. "How I hate how this place is growing on me."

Magnolia is actually a very calm and peaceful town, you would think that it would be pretty loud all the time due to the amount of people living here. Ironically that's not the case at all.

Magnolia: Fairytail

The Guild hall is finally finished being built after weeks on construction. Currently inside, it's very quiet. Though this is because Team Natsu is currently out on "vacation".

Cana Alberona is currently at a table drinking as per usual, at her table is Macao Conbolt and Wakaba Mine as they're talking.

"No way in hell!" Macao expresses firmly to Wakaba as they're currently having a debate about who's survived worse situations.

"A tribe of Lizardmen is definitely worse than a couple of Vulcan." Wakaba says to him looking at him disappointed and confused.

"You can't even touch Lizardmen, their scales will impair you at the slightest touch." Wakaba tries to explain but Macao just shakes his head.

"Yeah but all you gotta do is lightly hit them in the stomach and they're practically done." Macao retaliates back before turning to Cana.

"Cana what do you think?" He asks the young woman who was chugging down another glass can only look at him and respond the best way she can.

"Huh?" She says plainly and then burps lightly. Macao sweatdrops. "Were you not listening to our conversation?" He asks her.

"Of course not, you two always argue about the dumbest thing." Cana says before putting her head on the table.

Macao looks over to Wakaba who just shrugs. "Alright... in that case." He says before looking around before landing on Elfman who is currently talking to Mirajane.

"Hey Elfman!" He shouts over to him waving his hand to get his attention. Elfman notices him and after saying some words to Mirajane walks over to the table.

"Wassup?" He asks Macao when he gets over to where they are. "Which do you consider worse a tribe of Lizardmen or a pack of Vulcan?" Wakaba asks him.

"A real man would take on the Lizardmen." Elfman says crossing his arms. "Vulcans either go down or give up pretty quickly."

"You see Lizardmen are definitely the more tedious task." Wakaba says as Macao crosses his arms clearly defeated.

"Finally you guys are done, now shut up and keep it that way." Cana says with her head still on the table.

Over at the entrance Adam walks into the Guild Hall, Cana sees him walk inside and rolls her eyes before picking up her head to face a different direction.

Wakaba picks up on this and looks at her. "What's the matter with you?" He asks Cana who grunts in annoyance.

Elfman decides to step up to try to explain. "I still don't think Cana likes him all that much." Cana hears this and puts her right thumb up confirming Elfman assumption.

"Can't see why, he helped a lot with the rebuilding process and Master seems to like him a lot." Wakaba comments as Elfman just shrugs. The group of men look at Adam as he's currently having a chat with Mirajane.

"Truth be told at first I was a bit wary of him, but now in my opinion he's pretty cool for the most part." Elfman says.

"He's a dick." Cana thinks to herself still listening to their blabbering.

On the other side side of the Guild Hall, Adam is having a conversation with Mirajane. "I don't think that's a good idea if I'm being honest."

Adam looks at Mirajane confused and slightly disappointed. "Why?" He asks her about the topic they were discussing. "Because, Cana can be a bit abrasive at times and her drinking tends to enhance that tendency."

"Well then what should I do if I shouldn't apologize, because I'd rather not feel a light wave of animosity every time I look at her or she glances at me." Adam says.

Adam has come to the conclusion that Cana is the only member of the guild that doesn't like him, or atleast the only one that isn't afraid to show it. Though he's not surprised based off how their first interaction went.

"Honestly I think you're on your own with this one." Mirajane says chuckling as Adam exhales admitting is defeat for the moment and changing the topic.

"Well is Makarov in his office?" Adam asks Mirajane who nods. "But he's currently talking to-" She starts but is interrupted by Makarov shouting.

"Laxus come back here this moment!" Makarov shouts furiously drawing the attention of everyone in the Guild Hall, even Cana looks up to see the commotion.

Laxus is currently walking down the stairs from the second floor. "Yeah whatever old geezer." Laxus says ignoring him.

Adam stares at Laxus. "So this is Laxus Dreyar, Makarov's grandson. And the spoiled brat he complained about yesterday." Adam says recalling Makarov saying he was going to try and talk to Laxus as he was considering retiring.

"Laxus stop right now!" Makarov shouts at his grandson from the top of the stairs. Laxus looks back at him. "Or what you're going to send your group of weaklings after me?!" He responds back.

Before Laxus could even react he is sent flying through multiple tables. "Learn some manners won't you." Adam says with a crimson aura flowing around him and his Grimoire which is flying next to him.

Everyone is shocked at Adams speed and strength as he covered such a distance in a blink of an eye Mirajane didn't even see him move let alone cast the spell to begin with. Laxus looks up at Adam from the rubble of wood from chairs and tables smiling at him.

"Well I'll be damned, finally some backbone from someone!" He says laughing crazily before noticing he doesn't recognize Adam.

"And a freshy at that!" Laxus says turning into lightning going straight to Adam moving extremely fast before turning back to normal going to punch Adam who catches his fist sliding back a bit from the momentum and force.

"2nd Pentacle of Jupiter : Motion." Adam says as his aura changes from Crimson to Indigo as a similar aura envelops Laxus.

"Hey, I can't move." Laxus says trying to break free. "This spell isn't meant for trapping people but it will work for you." Adam says releasing his fist as Laxus is still struggling.

"Is he really manhandling Laxus?!" A lot of the members are thinking watching his play out. Makarov coughs before walking down the stairs to them.

"Adam release him." Makarov says to him. Adam nods as the indigo aura around him vanishes and Laxus falls from the statis he was in.

The two young men glare at each other with pure animosity in their eyes towards the other. Though Laxus is the first one to break eye contact walking past him not saying a word.

Makarov is about to say something before Laxus can reach the doors to leave the guild but he speaks first. "Regardless of whatever you say old man one way or another the Guild is gonna be mine for the taking." He says looking at his grandfather.

He then looks at Adam lightly glaring at him. "What's your name?" The Dragon Slayer asks the Vice Captain.

"Adam Alastair." He responds back simply and calmly. A small grunt is heard from Laxus before he leaves the Guild.

Everything is quiet for a bit before Adam starts apologizing. "Sorry about the tables, I don't know what came over me truly. My body just reacted."

Makarov shakes his head. "Trust me there's no need to apologize, everybody here knows that out of anybody in Fairytail Laxus is definitely the worse to deal with. You only did what everyone in here has hoped or dreamt of doing atleast once time in their life unfortunately."

Adam awkwardly laughs at his response but it does put him at ease just a little. The truth is he only reacted that way because his subconscious made the connection of Makarov being equivalent to Captain Menes and Laxus being somebody who didn't listen to an order and needed "discipline".

Mirajane walks over to them. "You sure do have a nice way of making friends." She says teasing him as Adam laughs at her joke.

"I need a drink..." Makarov says walking over to the bar looking mentally exhausted after dealing with Laxus.

"Also don't worry about the tables, I can have Jet go to the basement and get some more." Mirajane says as she walks over to where Jet, Droy, and Levy are sitting.

Adam then notices that his Grimoire is still levitating next to him, which confuses him as usually it would have went back into its pouch by now. Regardless he grabs the book closing it shut and manually putting it back.

The young man then proceeded to go to a table and sit down. "That spell drained a lot... damn he's strong I don't think I could have held in there much longer only using Motion." Adam says thinking to himself.

"What's interesting is that I didn't even invoke Assault, the spell just automatically activated. Maybe my connection to the grimoire is getting stronger?... or maybe I'm just getting stronger?"

"Maybe on whatever day the Planets correlates with not only can I use its full range but maybe I don't need the grimoire to invoke the spell... We are connected on a metaphysical level..." Adam thinks in complete deep thought with himself.

So much so that he doesn't even notice when Levy sat in front. "Hello, earth to Adam..." She says waving her hand in front of his face. Adam finally snaps out of it and notices the girl sitting in front of it.

"Sorry, I was thinking about something and got pretty lost in the thoughts." Adam says awkwardly trying to play it off and Levy giggles. "Yeah I could tell."

"Your... wait don't remind me... Levy right?" Adam says making sure that he could remember everyone's name. Levy nods smiling happy that he remembered.

"I just wanted to ask you something." Levy says as Adam looks at her curiously. "Yeah what is it?"

"Well... it's just that, everytime you use your magic that book you carry is always next to you. So I'm just really curious about it, I love books and reading and well I was wondering if you could tell me about it." Levy says shaking with excitement.

Adam smiles at her enthusiasm and cheerfulness. "Well you see it can be really complicated to explain my magic if I'm being honest due to how it literally varies by the day." Adam says trying to avoid talking about it but he made the mistake of actual increasing Levy's interest which is painfully obvious on her face.

He sighs before continuing pulling out the Grimoire out its pouch. "Well the official name for my magic is called Solomon's Seven Heavens-" Before Adam can finish his sentence Levy squeals at the mention of Solomon.

"Solomon as in thee King Solomon of Desierto?! Regarded as one of the strongest wizards of his time?!" Levy says as Adam slowly nods sweatdroping.

"Oh my god! Now I gotta see it." Levy says extending her hands to reach for the book. "Wait I wouldn't-"

By the time Adam could have warned her, the moment her hand touched to Grimoire a magical shockwave came from it. The force of it knocked her off the table putting her on the ground.

"Owee..." Levy says on the ground and Adam rushes to help her up. "Sorry I tried to warn you, the book is alive technically. It picks who ever it lets open it let alone touch it."

"Ohhh... that's interesting." Levy says feeling very lightheaded as she gets on her feet. "I know from personal experience the headache you have, I can fix it."

"1st Pentacle of the Sun : Burning Cure." Adam says as an orange aura covers him and his Grimoire also gains said outline and flips through pages before stopping.

As 5 tiny magic circles with the alchemic symbol for sun appears at the end of his fingers in his right hand. 5 flames appears at the end on his finger tips as he places it on Levy's forehead.

"Ahhh that feels nice." She says as he takes his hands off her head as the flames are still there but his aura goes away and the grimoire closes.

"The book uses spells revolving the 7 main alchemic planets. Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, The Moon, Venus, Mercury, and The Sun. Each planet dealing with a aspect of life." Adam says sitting back down at the table.

"Today is Tuesday which means that my ruling planet for today which in this case is Mars. Because of that I can use all of the spells correlating with it." He explains as Levy sits back down as well.

"I'm guessing you mean the level of pentacles as you say a number before it assuming they're multiple." Levy asks as Adam nods.

"Correct, the book has a total of Forty-four spells or pentacles though they vary by planet, for example today Mars has seven. Tomorrow Wednesday, which is ruled by Mercury only has five. But this is where it gets kind of tricky." Adam says.

"Regardless of what the day is I can use any pentacle up to the 2nd degree. But depending on the day will determine just how many higher level spells I can use because of what's called Ascendant and Descendant."

Levy is currently very invested is everything Adam is saying nodding at everything he says extremely focused on his explanations.

"Ascendant means whatever ruling planet will be in effect the next day in this case Mercury. I can currently use Mercury up to the 3rd pentacle because it only has 5 spells. Depending on the planet is on its Ascension I can use whatever the maximum amount of spells it has minus 2. Descendants on the other hand which is this case would be The Moon for Monday, I can only use its spells to the 1st pentacle and that's it." Adam finishes explaining giving Levy time to process everything.

"Wow you're right that is pretty confusing." Levy says awkwardly laughing admitting that Adam was right to say it was complicated.

"Nope that's only the breaking point of this book, like it said it's alive per say. It was enhanced with King Solomon's conscious before he died, so occasionally he'll say some message on a page or just simply talk shit." Adam explains. "Then you have things like Retrogrades, Conjuctions, Eclipses... honestly it's a lot that goes on with this stupid Grimoire sometimes I hate it." He finishes putting his head on his hand slightly annoyed.

"I wouldn't go that far I think it's pretty cool actually." Levy responds. "This is probably one of the most unique forms of magic I've seen."

Adam shrugs. "I mean what I can say for sure is that it's pretty convenient when it's not being inconvenient."

From the distance Adam notices the two males Levy is always with Jet and Droy approaching over to him. "Oh company." Adam thinks to himself.

"Hey Levy." Jet says placing his hands on her shoulder glancing over at Adam. "Is everything alright?" He asks her as she nods.

"Of course, I'm just talking to Adam. Actually he was telling me about his Grimoire he always carrying." She explains to them.

They both nod in understanding of Levy's love for books and reading. Adam can tell the two didn't come over to join in the conversation but instead swoop in to retrieve Levy, not really caring that much he gives them some help.

"Well thanks for the chat Levy, I hope I satisfied your curiosity." He says to her standing up from his seat at the table. "You definitely did, thank you."

"I may not be the biggest fan of books, but I am pretty good with ancient history and artifacts because of my dad." Adam says to Levy. "Alright I'll keep it in mind." She responds back to him as Adam smiles before leaving the table.

Looking around the Guildhall Adam glances over in Cana's direction noticing that it's just now her at the table. "Should I still try and say something..."

Unluckily for him before Adam can even decide to what he wants to do he hears Makarov call his name. He looks upstairs directly above him as that's where he called him from. So being a normal occasional lazy person takes a big jumps from the ground landing on the railings of the 2nd floor.

"What's up?" Adam asks him. "I have business to attend to, and that means so do you come on." Makarov says to him.

"There's somebody I want you to meet." Makarov says walking down the stairs. That statement peaks Adams interest.

"Who is it?" Adam asks him confused walking behind him as they go to exit the guild. He's already met the majority of the members minus a handful. "Somebody that's potentially a lot more stubborn than my grandson." Makarov responds as he opens the doors to leave to their destination.

Magnolia : Junkyard

"Ok we're here." Makarov exclaims at the entrance of the junkyard before walking inside as Adam at this point is just standing there very confused.

"Who in their right mind would meet at a junkyard of all places?" Adam says before following a small distance behind the guild master. The two walk deeper into the junkyard going down towards to other end of it.

"Gajeel!" Makarov shouts out loud. "Gajeel?..." Adam thinks to himself confused as he's pretty sure he's heard that name before but can't remember from where.

"I know you're here somewhere." Makarov says again out loud as a metal can is thrown at him from behind. The can hits his foot as both members of Fairytail turn to see where it came from.

On top of a pile of metal junk sits a tall muscular young man with long spiky black hair. Adam takes note of his blood red eyes and piercings throughout his body. Wearing a black sleeveless tunic with damaged edges, beige pants and black boots along with brown gloves.

Adam looks at the man. "I still can't believe you're doing this." Gajeel says to Makarov jumping down from the pile landing in front of the two. Once in front of him Adam notices that he's slightly taller than Gajeel probably by less than a inch. On the same note Gajeel also looks and examines Adam who he's never seen before.

"So who's this?" Gajeel says looking directly at Adam though talking to Makarov. "Gajeel this is Adam Alastair the Vice Captain of the Rune Knight Guardian Unit."

"Vice Captain huh... I didn't even know they had those." Gajeel states. "Adam is currently staying with Fairytail for an undisclosed amount of time." Makarov explains.

"Adam this is Gajeel Redfox the Iron Dragon Slayer, used to be member of Phantom Lord now turned Fairytail wizard." Makarov says as Adam looks at him with a mix of shocked and confused.

"What?! I thought his name sounded familiar, I remember Natsu bringing it up. Isn't he the one that destroyed your Guildhall? Why are you letting him join your Guild?" Adam says completely confused and shocked as Gajeel kisses his teeth.

Makarov sighs before answering. "Because... nobody deserves a life of isolation in the world we live in today. And for me letting a young man fall into darkness when I know I could have done something to prevent it is far more unforgivable than anything Gajeel has done to me or my children."

Adam reflects on what Makarov said as he nods once he understands. "Well in that case." Adam says extending his hand out to the dragon slayer.

"Pleasure to meet you." Adam finishes as Gajeel slaps his hand out the way before crossing his hands before looking away. "Yeah whatever nice to meet ya."

"Figured." Both Makarov and Adam both think simultaneously. "But there's a very important reason I wanted the two of you to meet each other, but let's head back to the guild first." Makarov says the the both of them as he begins walking back. The two boys look at each other confused before following behind the old man.

Magnolia : Fairytail

Upon arriving back at the Guildhall a lot of head turns are directed to the convoy of Makarov, Adam, and Gajeel. Though they ignore it and proceed up to Makarov's office.

Once inside Makarov closes the door behind him and sits on his desk as Adam and Gajeel just stand there looking at the old man.

"The reason why I want the two of you acquainted was because quite frankly I want you two to work together." Makarov explains to them.

"Why I gotta work with him for?" Gajeel exclaims side eyeing Adam who is doing the same thing right back to Gajeel but in a less disgusted way.

"Because, Adam is here to watch over the guild for the most part. And I know that there will indefinitely be some members that won't accept my decision initially to allow you to join the guild." Makarov's says to Gajeel.

Adam raises an eyebrow at what Makarov is saying. "So you want me to babysit him?" He asks extremely confused.

Makarov takes a deep breath in putting his hand on his face before exhaling. "No my child that's not what I was implying."

Gajeel crosses his arms. "So what is it then, because if I'm gonna be put on a leash I'd take my chances with the streets."

Makarov at this point has lost all patience for the day after dealing with Laxus and now this.

"Listen! You both are very strong individuals are you not?! Adam you're the Vice Captain of a Rune Knights Division! And Gajeel you were an S-Class mage for Phantom Lord!" Makarov starts clearly snapping, the boys are taken back from his break in patience and just listen.

"If I could I had a good idea of sending the two of you and Juvia on missions once and awhile for the guild when the need for it arises!" Makarov finishes before taking a deep breath in again coughing regaining his composure.

"Juvia? Is that somebody I don't know?" Adam ask as the Iron Dragon Slayer who nods. "She was a member part of the Elemental 4 for Phantom. She's joining this Guild too?" He asks.

"Yes, in fact she was the one that pleaded for your case to join the guild. She was very adamant about not wanting to leave you behind." Makarov answers to Gajeel who just nods.

"So you said you wanted us to carry out certain assignments like what?" Adam asks getting serious raising his eyebrow at Makarov.

"Well actually right now I only need Gajeel for an assignment but I'll tell you about that later." He says looking at Gajeel before looking back at Adam.

"I just wanted to two of you to get along with each other because from time to time you'll be working with each other. Atleast until the council retracts your position from the guild."

Adam nods in understanding glancing over to Gajeel. "Well I need to talk to Gajeel in private for a moment to explain what he's doing." Adam nods before walking out the room.

As he's walking down the stairs he thinks to himself. "Yep things just get better and better here."

A/N: I AM SOOOO SORRY FOR HOW LONG IT TOOK TO GET THIS CHAPTER OUT!

I got caught up in a lot for the last week and a half and didn't have much time to write let alone think. Covid is really crazy in the states for anyone living in America right now.

But I managed to get a day to finish this chapter as it was almost done just had to finish the talk with Gajeel and Adam with Makarov.

Again I apologize for the wait. Until next time be safe and protected. And leave a like and review if you can it means a lot ;)

Take care!
