Chapter One Hundred-Sixteen

Different But The Same

A/N – As I wrote the last chapter I pictured the two little guys in their cowboy hats running around. I have heard you and will continue to spend some time with their relationship. With past Christmas chapters I would focus on gifts but this time I minimized that and spent more time on the love this family has. Wyatt getting a stone showed that the family can adapt to a need to welcome someone who may not be blood family but without a doubt can be a true member. His relationship with Lyndy notwithstanding, Wyatt had shown that he is a loved part of the family, especially how he is with JT. I will continue to keep an eye on that for you. Clay and Katie's announcement, although not actually a wrapped gift, means more to this famliy than anything. I expect everything will go well but we will see how that pans out. And the positive feedback on Mallory continues. As I have inferred, she was one of my favorite characters until she left and I am excited about building her character as well as little Trent. Well even though there should be a bit of a lull before the annual New Year's Eve gala for the company, I can't guarantee the week in between the two holidays will not be boring. Hold on for the ride. I am on a bit of a roll and the chapters are coming in hot and heavy so please continue to let me know what you think. And as always, idea are always welcomed.Mature Content Enjoy!

It had been one of the best Christmas Days in a while and the Borden family and guest were sleeping soundly. It was early so there was little movement. Wyatt had snuck into Lyndy's room to snuggle as he was still on a high from getting a stone. They talked for a bit and then fell asleep holding each other, nothing funny going on, just a need to be close. Ty and Amy were also in each other's arms still from the night before. Trent had snuck into his mom's room and was lights out in her welcoming arms. JT and the girls were barely stirring. The day would be laid back as the twins had a trip to the mall planned with friends and Maddie had Gwen, Sylvia and Trudy coming over for a trail ride, weather permitting. JT and Trent had a play date with the Stillman boys along with Billy Masters. All of this of course after the horses were taken care of and a family breakfast was consumed. Pretty typical for this loving family and something that meant more to them than anything else in the world. It was a little before 6:00am when they heard a little tap on their door. Amy got up and there was a very sleepy JT rubbing his eyes barely able to stand up. Amy stooped down and carried him to her arms. "Hey honey, what's up, can't sleep?" He yawned, "Yea, Trent went to sleep with his mommy and I am alone and I heard a big car drive up. It is sitting in front of the house running." Amy looked at him, "Really, why don't I take you in so you can sleep with daddy and I am going to see what's going on." He smiled and dove into the bed when she brought him. Ty stirred and pulled him into his arms looking at Amy. "Hey what's up?" She smiled, "I have to go check something, I will be right back. She took her phone and noticed that she had a text from 20 minutes ago. Confused she opened it up and her eyes grew wide and she dashed down the steps, even forgetting her coat. She burst out the door and the occupants of the car started to get out. As she ran across the yard tears flowed as she screamed, "Soraya!"

Ty had coaxed the information from JT and left him in bed as he walked down. He heard Amy's screech and smiled realizing what was happening. He put his coat on and grabbed hers figuring she forgot it. As he opened the door he saw Amy and Soraya hugging and giggling like he remembered them from High School. A tired Dillon, whom he had only met a couple of times waved as he approached them. Two young yawning girls also got out of the backseat a little bewildered at the sight of their mom hugging this woman. Amy finally broke away from her friend and hugged Dillon as well as the two young girls. She finally noticed Ty approaching and after he handed her coat to her Soraya came to hug him as well. He shook Dillon's hand as she introduced them to their two daughters. Soraya giggled, Amy and Ty this is Camilla and Caroline. Girls this is Mr. and Mrs. Borden, two of my oldest and dearest friends. They said hello in their english accents and unexpectedly hugged them both. Camilla, the 13-year-old, smiled and said, "Our mom has been so excited since we decided to move to Canada. And to be honest Car, sorry Caroline and I are as well." Caroline, the 10-year-old smiled bashfully at the Bordens. Soraya took the two of them in her arms hugging them tightly. Dillon spoke up, "we are sorry we are here so early mates, we took a later flight and had nowhere to go, so Soraya talked us into coming here. We were just going to wait in the car until you woke up but I guess that didn't work." Amy laughed, "Well our little almost 4-year-old boy JT, heard the truck running and came to tell me, so I had to investigate. I am so happy you guys are here." She hugged her again as the girls rolled their eyes and Ty laughed, "Get used to it girls, they will be hugging a lot." Soraya stepped back startled, "Wait did you say your little boy, did I miss something?" Amy laughed, "Yep we have 5 kids now, in fact we actually have 6. We took guardianship of a young 16-year-old boy who lives with us and is also Lyndy's boyfriend. And wait until you see who came back, you will never believe it." Ty interrupted, "You guys looked shattered, Let's get you settled and you can rest for a while. Camilla you can sleep in our twins room, they are 13 too and Caroline, our daughter Maddie is 10 so you can bunk up with her. I have to warn you she is a little overwhelming." Amy smiled, Soraya, you and Dillon can use Wyatt's room, he has a queen size bed and I am certain he can sleep in JT's room. They quietly went in as Ty and Dillon left the bags in the SUV. Amy took Caroline to Maddie's room and set up a cot. Ty took Camilla to the twins room, introduced them and did the same. They Ty went to rouse Wyatt to have him move into JT's room and found an empty bed. Holding his concerned he helped Soraya and Dillon settle and told them to sleep as long as they wanted. He grabbed Amy and quietly opened Lyndy's door seeing them both fast asleep. Amy grabbed his arm as he went to say something and pulled him into the hall, "Ty leave them be, he is on top of the covers and she is under and I don't think they are doing anything. I guess you forgot when I used to sneak out to the loft when I was her age." He huffed and the went back to a still sleeping JT. Amy was so excited but was able to fall back to sleep with her two favorite men.

After a couple of hours the hours the house began to stir. Mallory left her sleeping son and went to the kitchen to start coffee. Outside of Amy, Ty, Maddie and the twins, no one knew about the visitors. She glanced out the kitchen window and noticed an unfamiliar SUV but thought nothing of it. After a few minutes, a sleepy Trent and JT came down. She got them settled and she asked, "Who's SUV is that?" JT smiled, I don't know, it woke me up and I told mom. She went out and I heard a scream but fell back to sleep." Still confused she joined them at the table. She took a sip of her coffee and looked up startled. "Soraya, is that you, oh my god!" The two old friends jumped into each other's arms in disbelief. Simultaneously they both said, "What are you doing here." The ruckus caused the rest of the family to wake up and head down quickly to the kitchen wondering what was going on. Almost at the same time, Amy, Ty and the kids arrived. Maddie laughed, "Mom, who is this who was in my room? Then Lyndy looked at the twins confused at who they came down with. Dillon and Ty just stood there overwhelmed with the screaming, giggling and hugging going on. Trent was a little sacred not understanding why his mom was so emotional and JT, who came down in Wyatt's arms frowned telling his dad, "Really more girls, this is crazy." Everyone gathered themselves laughing at his comment. Finally Amy belted out a wolf whistle to get everyone's attention. "Ok everyone, lets calm down so I can tell the story and introduce everyone to each other." First she told the story of Mallory and Trent coming home to Hudson. Next she told everyone about the fact that Soraya, her oldest friend, Dillon, Camilla and Caroline lived in England and have decided to move back to Hudson. She then went around and introduce her kids and Ty, Soraya did the same for her family and Mallory for Trent. After hellos and hugs Amy smoke up, "Now kids, these two are going to be going to your schools so we need you to help them acclimate." "JT looked at her with a question. Ty smiled, "JT you have to show Trent around, make sure he meets everyone and help him be more comfortable." He laughed putting his arm around his new friend, "Dad, he already knows all my friends and don't worry we got their backs." Maddie enthusiastically hugged Caroline as the overwhelmed girl blushed, "Caroline, I got you on this. 4th grade is cool and we will have a lot of fun." Addie and Annie added their support for Camilla as well. Soraya and Mallory smiled tearfully as they knew their kids would be fine. As they settled, Lyndy spoke up, "Hey let's get dressed and take Camilla and Caroline out to see the horses, we can teach them how to muck out a stall." Amy smiled, "Great idea, us old folks will get breakfast or since it is late, brunch ready. Now go."

Over the next hour, while they prepared a brunch for everyone, they reunited friends talked, cried and laughed. Ty keeping close to Dillon and whispered to him, "Hold on to your hat, this is going to be something." While Dillon and Ty starting setting up all the food preparation, the girls sat at the table and began sharing their stories. Mallory went over her challenging 5 years and Soraya in her usual manner listened intently looking directly at her in support. Amy had always been amazed at how she could listen and then calmly provide sound advice. As Mallory settled, Soraya spoke softly to her holding her hand. "Well I am setting up a practice here as a psychologist, in fact Dillon and I have found a house where I can set up an office. I already have my license to practice as well. Mallory, I love you and Amy like sisters and when you are ready, we can talk." Mallory smiled as tears came to her eyes she hugged her mumbling, "Thank you, I am not doing well." To lighten the mood Ty spoke up, "Who would ever thought that someone would tell Mallory they wanted her to talk?" The entire group laughed as Mallory got up to smack him, instead holding him tightly for support, crying in his shoulder. Soraya then continued and told her story. She apologized about losing touch explaining that although they loved England, they had some setbacks that brought on some struggles. Mom got sick about 9 years ago and her care consumed all of us. She was so brave but eventually the cancer won. One of the last things she told me is that I should bring my family back home to Hudson. Dillon and I discussed it, talked to the girls and here we are." As she tearfully finished, Dillon came over and put his hands on her shoulders as she leaned back. "You know Ty is pretty cool, but this guy is a keeper. So Amy least hear about you guys, man you have a lot of kids and the boyfriend living in a room right next to Lyndy, what's up with that" Mallory agreed, "I know really, Jack barely let these two be alone, but I do remember waking up when I was here at night seeing her bed empty. Can you say fooling around in the loft." Amy shushed her and began the story of Amy and Ty. She proudly talked about the kids, the business and the rest of the family. Most comments were received with excited interest especially their friendship with the Prime Minister and his family. Some of the more challenging things were listened to with compassion and love, especially for the both of them when they talked about Jack, Bella, Lilly and JT. Ty looked on as they talked and whispered to Dillon, "Look at them, it's like they were never apart."

Just on time, the kids came back into the house loudly. Soraya asked her girls, "So how was the mucking?" Camilla grimaced, "Well not on the top of my fun list but it was great when the stalls looked clean and the horses seemed happy eating. Lyndy said that her and her cousin Katie would teach us to ride, can we get our own horses?" Soraya looked a Dillon as he answered, "Well let's get settled first and we will see. You start school, I am starting my job at the hospital and mom is setting up her practice." Amy interrupted, "Until then don't worry, you can ride my horse Blaze and Ty's horse Triumph. But when you ride them or any horse, brushing and mucking are part of the deal, no excuses." Mallory looked at Ty smiling, "Really first Harley now Triumph, Ty Borden you are weird." The group laughed, even JT as he whispered to Wyatt, "See I handled that Ok!" He laughed and everyone continued to chat while enjoying all of the food. The group from England didn't even remember when they ate last so for them it was delicious. After they cleaned up they all decided to rest a little more as jet lag set in. By midafternoon they were ready to go so the girls spent that afternoon with the kids as Amy, Ty and Mallory went with Soraya and Dillon to look over the house and property they bought. It was modest but would work out perfectly for them. It was only 10 minutes form the Miracle Ranch, sat on 20 acres and had a small 4 stall barn. They got back late afternoon and Amy coaxed Mallory and Soraya to go for a short ride. Dillon and Ty volunteered to make dinner deciding on grilling some hamburgers, hot dogs and picking up some sides from Maggie's. The three friends decided to ride over to Heartland and surprise Jack, Lisa, Lou and Scott. While Jack was at the sink, he looked out and yelled, "Everybody let's head to the porch, you aren't going to believe it." The scampered out as Georgie, Steven, Katie and Clay saw them from the loft and headed out as well. Jack laughed as they approached, "Well look at you three. I used to see three beautiful young girls riding all the time and now I see three beautiful women." Soraya laughed, jumped off her horse and ran to Jack for a hug. She held on tightly for a while until she reached out to the others. Lou laughed, "Talk about DeJa'Vu!" Everyone laughed as they all headed into the house to have some coffee and chat. Soraya told her story, although several of them knew parts of it already. Mallory laughed, "You know Soraya, you can probably have a good client list just working with this crazy bunch." Everyone laughed although several felt that Mallory was reaching out for help." Georgie and Katie filled Soraya out on their life and families as Katie beamed about their newly announced pregnancy. Lou filled her in on Maggie's and bashfully told her that she had a picture of Maggie with a plaque put up after she passed. Soraya smiled with a tears in her eyes, "That's awesome, my mom really loved that place. After dad died I think it became her new love for sure." After a bit, Amy's phone went off and she spoke up, "Well the kids are back and Ty says it is almost time to eat so we better be off." Jack smiled and hugged Soraya again, You get settled and we want you and the family over for dinner. I need to meet this Dillon guy and your girls." Soraya smiled shaking her head yes. It was good to be home.

After a day of hanging with the Walsh family, it was back to work for the adults. Amy and Ty were busier than usual, even having to move some things to Saturday. Jack decided on that night for the big dinner and everyone was excited. The New Year's Party at the Miracle Ranch was ready to go as the tent was up with tables and chairs ready to go. Dillon had Orientation at the hospital for his role as Physical Therapist on Thursday and Friday and would be starting right after the new year. He had no problem being certified because of the pollical and cultural relationships between England and Canada. With some help from her daughters and Maddie, Soraya began setting up her office at their house. The rest of the Borden girls also helped them set up the house too. JT and Trent were inseparable keeping busy all week. Mallory was spending time at the Day Care meeting the manager Marjorie and basically following her around. Marjorie was so happy and whispered to Mallory as they observed one of the groups. "Mallory, I love this place and love the family but I need to get back to being retired. You are a godsend and I know that you will do well here. This company and this place are really something special." Everything was going well and everyone was very busy. The night of the dinner at Heartland was so familiar for Soraya. She was so proud to introduce Dillon and the girls to everyone including Caleb and Cass, Bethany and Will as well as Jenn and Ben. She joked that she had the hots for both Caleb and Ben when they first came to the ranch and of course Cass joked, "Caleb is there anyone you didn't have the hots for?" Ty laughed, "He was a gamer basically going after everyone. Remember the woman who was a potential bronc rider and the barrel racing champ. When he had a new buckle he definitely went to see what it could do for him with the buckle bunnies." Cass rolled her eyes as Amy helped her old friend out. "But Cass, you are definitely the one. I'll never forget when he showed me the ring he got for you. And you know he made me lie to you so you would go away and he could propose." Cass smiled, "Yea I guess I tamed the bronc out of him." JT had been listening to the conversation with Trent and they were both confused. He finally spoke up, "Buckle Bunnies and taming the bronc out of him. You adults are weird. Trent lets go see the horses." Everyone broke out in laughter as the group continued to reminisce about the old days. Jack sat quietly and listened when Lisa leaned over, "Hey honey, where are you." He smiled, "This is what life is all about, being with all the people that are important." She smiled and kissed his cheek as Mallory blurted, "Still so cute watching you two make out."

Since the Walsh family had settled in their house, the Bordens, plus Mallory and Trent walked in the door after another fun family dinner at Heartland. The kids joked with their parents about all of the stories that were told and how embarrassing some of them were. Addie laughed remembering, "This stories about Uncle Caleb are hilarious. Is there any women left in Hudson that he hadn't went after?" Wyatt took the little boys to their room and Amy looked at Ty and she whispered to the girls and Mallory, "Don't ever say anything about this but one time he kissed Lou, I mean really kissed her after he had punched Peter." The girls and Mallory stood dumbfounded and had no idea how to respond. Ty raised his hand, "Now before you get all weird, Caleb was going through a tough time after he divorced the same wife for the second time. He was a little messed up but later they laughed it off, well after Peter decked him at the family jumping show we held." Mallory went to speak, "I mean I was still here, how did I not know?" Everyone laughed as she sat in shock. Everyone headed off to bed and after rounds Amy and Ty settled in their room. As they laid next to each other Ty could tell Amy had something on her mind. "Ok, Mrs. Borden, what is up." She smiled and buried her face in his chest. "It is so nice having Mallory and Soraya back but it brings back memories of my mom a little bit. I am Ok but was just thinking about that." He smiled, "Well I was thinking that with all of our recent house guest, we haven't been able to have some quality time together." She smiled brightly and looked into his eyes that were wide with desire. "So what are you thinking we should do about that?" Startling her, he moved over top her and seductively started removing her T-shirt and panties. He slowly moved over her body as she barely had time to react. Somehow she discarded his boxers and their naked bodies moved together in harmony. Ty immediately paid attention to her taught breast licking and sucking to a resounding set of moans and deep breaths. With little hesitation he moved lower and using his fingers and tongue to bring her pleasure only meant for her. She was in complete ecstasy as she climaxed several times, barely being able to catch her breath. Ty was on a mission to bring her to the peak of passion. She saw a break and made her move, returning to the pleasure spot he enjoyed, moving her mouth and lips to his manhood. He arched his back as she slowly moved up and down humming and breathing heavily. He whispered her name as she continued to bring him almost to his release. She moved up his chest and locked into a passionate kiss, positioning herself over him, lowering herself onto him easily. They move together in unison as she bounced up and down, He held on to her hips , occasionally kneading her breast and reaching up to kiss he lips. They were in sync as their climax came. As they both felt the warmth inside they continued on several minutes after their release. The laid next to each other catching their breath. Amy whispered, "Well I think we made up for sure, Ty you are amazing." He looked over into her blue eyes, "I think we need to make up a little more." She giggled and rolled over top of him gasping at his hardness, "Most definitely, I say round two is ready to go." Their night was far from over as they loved each other completely into the early hours of the morning.

Over the next few days before the big company New Year's Eve party at the Miracle Ranch everyone kept busy. The Borden kids were excited because Max and Lilly decided to fly in as well. Lisa planned to speak to everyone with updates on the business and some items discussed at the last Board meeting. Everyone was excited about Katie and Clay's announcement and Mallory and Trent along with Soraya and her family were fitting in well. Like the O'Dell's, Masters and Stillman's they had become extended family and pretty much would be involved in all family matters moving forward. Soraya had already spoken to Mallory offering to sit down with her to talk through her life and its challenges, and she gladly accepted. Also after talking to the twins, she offered to meet with Bella and Maya as well. Bella had continued to receive state provided counseling, but after they met she was looking forward to meeting with someone who was close to the family. Her intention was to keep her skills honed as she built up a client base in the Hudson area. She was talking to Amy one day about how her and Ty were doing and Amy laughed, "Maybe we should put you on retainer as the family psychologist." Soraya laughed and looked at her best friend, "Amy I am always here for you and Ty, it doesn't need to be a formal thing. And, if you are Ok, I would like to spend some time with JT. I have researched the link some people have with those who have left us and I firmly believe it is real and would really like to talk with him. If it Ok with you guys." Amy smiled, "Of course you can, he has already deemed you and Dillon his Aunt and Uncle. He has support from the medical team and school staff, but I think with you he would be more relaxed. He is really struggling with his diagnosis, almost embarrassed. Maybe you can talk to him and make sure he understands it is not his fault." She smiled and calmly said, "Amy, it is only normal, he is a proud and confident little boy and is scared. It is only natural." They hugged and talked a little more. Amy told her she was excited to introduce her to Maryanne Trudeau and talked about how their relationship had developed. Amy was so happy to have her best friend ever back.

Maddie, Addie and Annie had fully engaged Camilla and Caroline in ranch life and their friends. Caroline we very impressed with Gwen and Sylvia and soon became best friends with them. The had several chances to hang out, even getting to meet Ronin when they all went on a trail ride together. Maddie said, "He is not my boyfriend, just a good friend." Gwen and Sylvia laughed, "Yea right sis, you have the hots for him." Caroline laughed and blushed, "Well he is kind of hot, does he have any good-looking friends?" Maddie rolled her eyes as the conversation moved back to horses and school. Camilla had also blended in well with Annie and Addie's group of friends. One afternoon they went to movie together and she whispered to Annie, "Jeremy and Desi are cool, are you guys like couples?" She smiled, "Yea I guess so and so are Maya and Bella." Camilla smiled, "I figured and they are so cute together. Addie told me her story, it is so sad. A friend of mine in England had the same thing happen to her and she was a wreck. She had no one to help her and one day she just stopped coming to school. Rumors were all through the school and later we found out that her two brothers were also being abused and the older one attacked their father and put him in the hospital. It was ugly for sure. I just wish I could have helped." Addie joined the conversation as the others were getting snacks. "Cammy, it's not your fault, we were lucky because we decided to tell our parents and Bella came to them for help." They smiled as the rest of their friends came back. Camilla chuckled and whispered again to them both, "Those two are so nice and hot too, what a bonus." The girls giggled as Maya overheard the comment and whispered. "Yea and Bella is hot too." They all giggled in agreement.

For the most part JT and Trent spent almost every minute together. They fished at Heartland's pond with GG, hung out a lot at the barn with the ranch hands and had several playdates at Fairfield. One day, Mallory was in the office with Ty and Amy talking excitedly about the Day Care Center. "I can't believe what an amazing facility it is. Marjorie and the people that work there are great and have been so welcoming. Lisa has all but told them that I would be taking over her role and they have been more than helpful. Did you know that there is a small two-bedroom apartment attached to the building and Lisa offered it to me as a part of my salary until I find my own place. Amy it is perfect for us and so close to everything." Amy smiled, "I know, Lou, Lisa and I talked about it and after a little bit of remodeling we think it will be perfect for you two." Mallory smiled tearily and hugged her friend, "Thank you both, I have been here less than two weeks and have a job, a place to live and a family all thrown into one." As they hugged a frantic Trent ran into the office, "Mrs. Borden, something is wrong with JT." As they ran out of the office, he continued out of breath, "We were watching Rusty work with a horse and I said something to him. When he didn't respond, and when I looked over he was like not seeing me and mumbling. It was so scary. Caleb and Rusty went to him and told me to get you." As Ty and Amy approached they saw a bewildered JT sitting in Georgie's lap on the ground next to the round pen. She had heard the ruckus and along with a small crowd gathered all concerned about the little guy. Only close family knew of his diagnosis, Caleb and Georgie being two of them. Rusty and Caleb shooed everyone away so they could be alone. Trent stood in front of his mom still shaking. Georgie handed JT over to his mom after Amy joined them on the ground. Ty crouched down and put his hand on his shoulder. Georgie joined Mallory, Trent and Caleb as they stood in support. After a minute, a glassy eyed JT looked at his mom confused, "Mommy, Daddy where am I?" Amy fought to control her emotions but her heart was broken in two. Ty moved next to the two of them and held them both tightly. Caleb Whispered to Mallory, "Hey, let's take Trent away for a bit until things settle." She smiled in agreement as this was also the first time she had seen the results of an episode. As they left a frantic but controlled Lyndy came jogging over with Wyatt in tow. She immediately went to Georgie. JT was becoming more aware of his surroundings and looked again at his mom. "It happened again didn't it? I am so embarrassed." The comment broke Amy as she wept holding her little boy, "Baby, everything will be Ok, dad and I love you and so does Lyndy, Georgie and Wyatt, well everybody. You have nothing to be ashamed of." He smiled weakly and after a few minutes, Wyatt and Lyndy took him inside so he could rest in his room.

Amy and Ty thanked Georgie and went to find Caleb, Mallory and Trent. Ty crouched down to a still shaken Trent. "Trent, it is Ok, you did nothing wrong, in fact you did everything right." JT has a thing where he sometimes kind of loses focus, kind of like a dream. He is Ok and he is getting help from doctors but I want to make sure you know this is not your fault." He gathered himself and shuttered, "But we were joking around and he said he would be able to help horses one day and I poke him laughing and said, Yea right. I upset him and caused this. He is going to hate me." Amy picked him up and looked directly in his eyes, "Trent, now listen, JT will never hate you, he is your friend for life. You did nothing wrong. These just come on out of the blue. We just need to be there for him and make sure if he needs us we help, like you did today." He smiled and went back to his proud mom, "You did good kiddo." Maddie came running around the corner with Caroline and Gwen right behind. "Mom, dad is he Ok, where is he, how bad was it." Ty calmed her telling her he was Ok but is seemed to be a bad episode. "Lyndy and Wyatt took him to the house so we will just have to let him rest a bit." She relaxed and went to her mom, "Are you Ok mommy?" All Amy did was hug her as her response. Things settled as a few others came over to ask how JT was doing. After a bit, Amy and Ty finished up and headed to the house walking hand in hand. Before they went in Amy stopped him, "We need to call the doctor tomorrow and let her know what happened. And I will call school later this week. I am worried he may not want to go back yet and we need their advice." Ty smiled, "He is a tough kid but today I saw a scared kid. Let's go see how he is doing" The went to his room just as Lyndy was walking out. They glanced in and saw him surrounded by Wyatt arms. Wyatt looked up and gave a thumbs up as JT was sleeping peacefully. Lyndy hugged them and filled them in, "He is settled but mom and dad he was really upset. I know he understands what is going on but he is just a little boy and shouldn't have to be going through this." Her voice became shaky, "I wish I could take the pain and fear from him." Ty smiled and embraced his two girls, "Lyndy, we all would but right now we just needs to be there for support and love. Mom and I are going to talk to his doctor and see if we can do anything else to help him." They headed back downstairs to fill the kids in. Addie and Annie had made it back from the movies and had been filled in. Soraya had showed up as well to get Camilla and Caroline. She smiled and hugged her best friend whispering in her ear, "We will get through this together. He is a Borden and tough like his parents." Amy smiled weakly and went to Ty. After Soraya left with her daughters the family sat and talked, ordering pizzas for dinner. After a bit, a tired JT came down in Wyatts arms. "I hope you ordered Cheese pizza for me!" They laughed as he made the round of hugs from his siblings.

The next morning was New Year's Eve and the Bordens had a quiet breakfast. To JT's surprise, GG and Max came through the door smiling. JT jumped up and ran to them both. There was no mention of the episode but they were aware of what happened as they both looked over to Amy and Ty, who hadn't slept much. Jack spoke, "Well a little change of plans for tonight. We still have the big company party after lunch but we want you guys to come over to the house tonight for a very low-key dinner and if everyone stays up, we can launch the new year, family style. It will just be immediate family including Mallory, Trent and Soraya's family. The rest of the extended family are all going their own thing so it will just be us. JT how does that sound?" "That would be awesome GG and Grandpa Max." Max laughed, "Well your GG and I were wondering if you were free for a little bit today. We need you help picking up the food for tonight, we are going to BBQ." Wide eyed, JT looked at his mom hoping she would say yes. Amy smiled, "Of course, someone has to keep these two in line and who better than you." JT jumped up and ran to his room to get out of his pajamas and get his coat. Amy looked at her grandpa with a teary smile, "Thank you grandpa, he has been a little down after yesterday." As she hugged him Max spoke for them, "We figured he could use a distraction and so can you all. He'll be good with us, promise." Amy then lunged into Max's arms as well. The girls joined into the hug parade as Ty and Wyatt shook both of their hands, Ty whispering to them both, "Thank you." JT came down as the hug fest was ending and laughed, "Geez, I am only going to the store unless we can throw a line in or two also." Jack laughed, "You bet kiddo." As they headed out the door JT waved and smiled brightly. Before he went out he turned around and ran back to his mom for one more big hug. "I love you mom, it's gonna be Ok."
