''Can I kiss you?''
Brittany leans in stopping shortly before their noses touch and smiles slightly. ''Now that is a question that doesn't need a lengthy answer.'' She breaths out, she gazes into brown orbs seeing the stars sparking in them and swallows nervously. ''Yes.'' She whispers softly knowing she waits until the answer.
Santana smiles slightly seeing the nervous spark in Brittany's eyes and slowly leans up closing the small gap between them, her eyes slam shut at the first touch of their lips hearing the deep intake of breath Brittany takes through her nose and slowly slides her hands up her back to cup the back of her neck.
Brittany parts her lips slightly capturing Santana's bottom lip between her own and smiles into the kiss as she feels her hum softly, she leans further down bracing most of her weight on her hand beside her head and exhales slowly through her nose.
Santana slowly pulls back keeping her arms wrapped around Brittany's shoulders and leans their foreheads together biting her lip. ''Well damn.''
Brittany laughs softly nuzzling her nose against San's and smiles slightly. ''Damn is right, I'm feeling like my heart is about to jump out of my chest.''
''I don't think I can describe the jumbling mess I call feelings at the moment.'' Santana whispers softly as they lock eyes, she bites her lip smiling nervously and exhales slowly. ''All I know is that it fucking scares me.''
''Why?'' Brittany asks softly as she pushes herself up to look at her, Santana bites her lip her hands falling down to hold her hips again and sighs.
''I don't know how you do it but I never felt like this before B and it scares the hell out of me, you make me want to drop every damn wall I build up to protect myself and to let you in completely.'' She pauses gazing up into sparkling blue orbs and swallows thickly. ''We know each other for about three months now but it feels like a lifetime.''
''Don't do that.'' Brittany murmurs softly slowly pulling back to sit up, she moves off of Santana helping her sit up too and leans against the bank they just sat in leaning her arm on her knee.
''Don't do what?'' Santana asks in confusion, Brittany turns her head to look at her and smiles slightly.
''Drop everything, you build everything up for a reason San and only the person who manages to break through or kick those down deserve your time.''
''Are you telling me to make you wait?'' Santana asks chuckling softly, Brittany shakes her head and smiles slightly slowly reaching out to grab her hand.
''No I am asking you to give me a chance to give you what you deserve.''
''And what do I deserve?'' Santana asks with an eyebrow raised. ''Don't get me wrong you will be the first person in almost six years I would like to give that chance, but I fell for it once before B and I jus..''
''You don't need to explain yourself San, I can understand.'' Brittany murmurs softly gently cutting her off, she runs her thumb over the back of her hand and shrugs. ''As for what you deserve, you didn't tell me much about your ex and I honestly don't need to know much because you calling her a bitch says everything and well I think she doesn't give a damn about Sof.''
''She doesn't.'' Santana breaths out smiling sadly.
''Yeah thought so..'' Brittany replies with a soft sigh. ''Look we both have two little hearts to consider into this too and I would love to spend some time together with our kids too so I can get to know Sof and she learns more about me while you get to know Li and he learns more about you, I don't want to dive head first into this and I don't expect that from you either.'' She looks up from their intertwined hands her eyes locking on soulful brown orbs and smiles slightly. ''I can start promising you the world but I think we both know that relationships are not always just sunshine and rainbows.''
Santana nods her head and sighs. ''Yeah we both experienced the worst part of loving.''
''Exactly, so I won't even start promising you that and we still have that small problem that I am working for you.'' Brittany squeezes her hand softly as she sees her opening her mouth to reply and grins slightly. ''Changing agencies will never be an option for me, not now and not when we date. But I do think we have to set up a plan because private and career life do need to be separated seeing you are my boss.''
''Ugh I hate it when you call me that.''
Brittany laughs pulling her closer by their intertwined hands and shrugs as she leans against her side. ''Yeah but on paper you are San and we can't allow to let our private lives involve into our career, at the agency you will always be my boss and outside of it you are my friend and well only god knows what the future holds.''
Santana hums softly leaning her head against Brittany's shoulder and sighs softly. ''Nobody knows what the future holds and even though it scares me a bit, I don't want to allow it to ruin what could happen between us.'' She murmurs softly. ''But I do like the idea of the both of us spending time with the little ones too, I would love to get to learn more about Li and I know Sof will love hanging out with the both of you too.''
''Go with the flow?'' Brittany asks smiling slightly, she laughs as Santana tilts her head up to look at her in amusement and shrugs. ''Why think much when we can let our action speak the loudest? We will be the same around everyone we know and around the kids so we don't confuse them and will take that opportunity to see how our relationship progresses, but..'' She cuts herself off turning her body so she is facing Santana completely and takes a hold on both of her hands with a small shy smile playing on her lips. ''I would like to take you out on a date if you allow me.''
''I think I will love that.'' Santana murmurs with a small smile, she gazes into bright blue orbs smiling lovingly as she sees the shyness still on her face and bites her lip. ''You are one of a kind, you know that?''
''Nah more two of a kind, sometimes three.'' Brittany replies with a slight smirk. ''Hanging out with HeMo most of my life taught me a lot of things and well sometimes people tell us that we are more like twins then cousins and I hope my little boy will be just like me.''
''He sure will, he is adorable and has your amazing eyes.''
''What is it with you and our eyes?'' Brittany asks amused
''You tell me Mrs Mesmerize.'' Santana quips with a soft laugh as Brittany pushes her softly. ''Seriously you have fans around the world just because they love your eyes.'' She grabs her hands before she can push her again and smiles shyly. ''But I love blue eyes and the second I locked onto yours the day you knocked me over also made all walls I build crumble, just one look and I was intrigued and wanted to know more about you.''
''Same goes for me though.'' Brittany confesses with a cute smile. ''I always curse my clumsiness but I thank god for the day I ran you over, the second our hands touched because I wanted to help you up send a shock through my body that shook me to the core and even though I tried to ignore it I just couldn't.''
Santana smiles slightly cuddling back against her side as a cold breeze hits them and shivers slightly. ''Yeah I am glad you ran me over that day too.'' She tells her with a soft chuckle, she reaches for her phone on the table to look at the time and sighs softly. ''It's way past midnight.'' She mutters slightly in shock as she realizes that they talked for hours.
''Well fuck, Li wants to go to the park tomorrow around noon.'' Brittany murmurs softly as she takes the last sip of her beer, she reaches for her own phone on the table and looks at the messages she received.
She chuckles softly as she sees a picture Nick send her and turns her phone to Santana showing her Li and Sof both cuddled up together on Micheal's chest. ''Well both kids are out cold.''
Santana laughs nodding her head in agreement and smiles slightly. ''Sof loves spending time with Nick and Mychal, every time she comes home after that she completely crashes and could sleep for days.'' She smiles lovingly as she sees the little ones cuddled up and sighs happily as she sees the small smile on her daughters face. ''I love to see her this happy, she was before but the day she befriended Li she came home bouncing off of the walls exclaiming she made a new best friend, watching the both of them together on the playground at school is amazing and her teacher also mentioned that he has a good influence on her.''
''Good influence?'' Brittany asks softly, Santana nods her head and sighs.
''Sof sadly didn't only inherited my looks, I had some major anger problems when I was little and it continued throughout my teens thanks to my parents and Sof has the same. It's quite toned down and allowing her to run around the backyard or park after school also calms her down but I sometimes get a call from school asking me to pick her up because she is too angry.''
''Thanks to your parents?'' Brittany asks softly not really trying to pry because she already noticed that it's a sore object for the Latina, Santana hums softly downing the last bit of her wine in one go and sighs.
''Yeah my parents are against my lifestyle as they like to call it which means my sexuality of course and kicked me out the second I was old enough to earn my own money, now that I am a bit older the contact is a bit back to normal but they still disagree with it and only stay in contact with me to spend time with their grandchild.''
''Well that is good right?'' Brittany asks carefully, Santana scoffs softly and shrugs.
''If you call those few hours they spend with her to maintain their perfect image in the small town they live in good, than yeah sure.'' Santana shakes her head reaching out to squeeze Brittany's hand and sighs. ''Sorry I didn't mean to sound so harsh, they just piss me off.''
''No need to apologize.'' Brittany reassures with a sad smile. ''I will sound the same as soon as I start about my folks.''
''Bad too?'' Santana asks smiling sadly.
''Forcing me to stay in an abusive relationship because it was the son of my fathers best friend, ignoring my pleas for help or pleas to take their grandchild the second he could be in harm too, trying to spend the money I inherited from my grandmother..'' Brittany shrugs her shoulders and sighs. ''Want me to continue?''
''They never helped you or took Li out of harms way?'' Santana asks shocked, Brittany shakes her head and sighs.
''No they always told me that I am exaggerating and that I was the cause of my own bruises, the only people that believed me live here and helped me get out of the hell I once called my hometown.''
''I am glad you got out of there.'' Santana tells her softly as she runs her thumb over the back of her hand. ''I know you are not completely safe but you have people here who will help you and Li whenever it's needed, Li will be safe with his grandparents, aunts or uncle and as soon as you hear that they are in town please don't hesitate to come here.''
''I'll try but I don't like the idea of pulling you into that shit too San, you have Sof to think of.''
''Sof won't be here, the second I hear that something is wrong I can call Nay or Nick and ask them to pick her up.'' Santana reassures with a small smile. ''Just please don't go off on your own, you have Li to think of and I don't want anything to happen to you or to him.''
''I will make sure nothing happens to him.'' Brittany promises softly.
''I know you will and I can understand your need to protect him, but you are not alone here Britt-Britt.'' Santana replies turning her body so she is completely facing her after placing her wine glass on the table, she grabs both of her hand in her own gently forcing her to look at her and smiles sadly.
''You have a lot people having your back in this town even people who don't know you that well, I only have to make a few calls and I have three security looking guys standing in front of my house to scare them off and if that doesn't help I am sure Nay and HeMo also have a few tricks up their sleeves.''
She pulls her closer kissing her cheek as she sees the worry clear in her bright blue eyes and sighs softly. ''I know that your mother instinct tells you to jump in front of everything and everyone that could hurt your little boy, but you have family and friends here who will stand beside you and make you look that much stronger.'' She continues. ''Q and Puck also have your back and only one call will make them jump up and rush over here to help us, the agency or well more Q, Puck, Nick and I are more than just friends we are a family and you belong right into that crazy mix.''
Brittany smiles slightly slowly relaxing into Santana's arms as she pulls her into another hug and slowly wraps her own arms around her waist. ''It sure is a crazy mix.'' She murmurs with a soft laugh, she turns her head kissing a tanned cheek and smiles slightly against the burning skin. ''Thank you.'' She whispers softly.
''You don't have to thank me.'' Santana murmurs softly, she pulls out of the hug and sighs softly. ''But I do think it's time to call it a night.'' She stands up holding her hand out and smiles slightly. ''I am not kicking you out and I definitely don't like the idea of you taking a cab this late, I have a guest room and I am sure I have a large shirt and shorts you can wear.''
''Oh no I don…''
Santana sighs reaching up to cover Brittany's mouth and laughs softly. ''You are not, I am asking you to stay Britt-Britt.''
Brittany sighs knowing she can't decline and slowly nods her head. ''Alright, but breakfast is on me tomorrow.''
''It's a date.'' Santana murmurs with a wink, Brittany laughs following her into the house after grabbing her beer bottle and shakes her head.
''Oh no Lopez, that won't count to the date I will plan for us.''
''Not? What exactly will we do that day?'' Santana asks smirking.
''You will find out as soon as I find the right thing and really asked you out on a date San.'' Brittany replies snickering, Santana turns on her heels to look at her after placing her wine glass in the sink and raises an eyebrow.
''I thought you already asked me.''
''Well yeah, but I didn't say what day right?''
''No you didn't.'' Santana murmurs with a small smile grabbing her hand to lead her up the stairs, Brittany chuckles softly looking around as soon as they reach the top of the stairs and smiles lovingly as she sees the pink door with Sofia's name on it.
''Don't worry, I won't make you wait too long.''
''I hope so.'' Santana murmurs softly as she leads her to the guest room, she points to the single white door and smiles slightly. ''The bathroom is there, I will grab some clothes for you.''
Brittany hums softly and smiles. ''Thank you Santana, I really enjoyed tonight and it was way better as what I planned before.''
Santana smiles lovingly and leans up on her tiptoes to kiss her cheek. ''There is no need to thank me at all Britt-Britt and I enjoyed it just as much.''
