Daenerys and the Dothraki Empire

Lecture III: The Coming of the Khaleesi

by Mr. Theon Sorryn

As we've previously discussed, the figure of Daenerys Targaryen made her unprecedented rise in the world of the nomadic horse lords, and during the period of her husband's incapacitation successfully defended against rival khals.

While Khal Drogo himself has earned the well-known moniker Khal-of-Khals in modern media, and is well deserving of much of the adequate attention often received by scholars, but, as modern historians have been able to discover, his rise to domination of the entire Dothraki, and more importantly, the foundations laid for further conquest and control, would not have been possible without the efforts of his wife, Daenerys Targaryen, a descendant of the ancient and royal Targaryen dynasty.

We've already touched on her history beforehand, from the coming over from Westeros to being made a bride to Drogo himself, and how she initially managed in this strange new world. In this lecture, we are going to see how Daenerys was vital in instructing and encouraging her husband to unite the disparate Dothraki khals under his rule, aided in their conquest of the then-named area of Slavers Bay, reintroduced the dragon species to the world, and helped establish one of the largest empires to exist in the world at that time.

All of these, will have vital effects on the future of the continent of Essos, leading up to the Nine-City League, discussed in later lectures, and paralleled to the incredible administrative and political strives overseen during the long reign of King Tommen the Good in Westeros.

Now, before we begin, any questions?

A/N

Another simple short. This one is supposed to be the beginning to a an audio lecture, the type that many college professors give and such, and focuses specifically on the "what if" idea that Daenarys and Drogo remained together. I have also posted another chapter in Tale of Stories, so if your interested go check it out.
