The next day.
Santana drops her head cursing underneath her breath as she hears another knock on her office door silently cursing herself for forgetting to lock the entrance and sighs. ''Come in.''
''Hey you.''
''Mami!''
''Sanny!''
She looks up from her laptop the second she hears Brittany, her daughter and Liam entering her office and smiles brightly. ''Hey.'' She grunts as the kids jump on her lap and chuckles wrapping her arms around their waist to keep them in her lap. ''To what do I owe this nice surprise?'' She asks them in amusement as she sees the both of them wearing nice clothes and happy grins.
Sofia turns back to her mami after Brittany slightly nodded her head at her silently telling her that they can tell and smiles brightly. ''It's date time mami.''
Brittany chuckles softly as she sees her son wildly nodding his head in agreement and walks over to them, she runs her hand through the kids hairs making sure not to ruin the hairstyles they chose today and locks eyes with Santana. ''You getting called into work didn't ruin anything at all.'' She tells her softly knowing she felt bad to leave right after breakfast. ''It just gave us more time to prepare before picking you up.'' She glances at the laptop still turned on and smiles sheepishly. ''If you have time, but we can also move it.''
Santana quickly shakes her head the second she sees the beautiful blue sundress Brittany wears and bites her lip. ''Nah I was just about to lock up, all of this can wait til Monday.'' She murmurs with a slight smile, she glances down at her clothes after shutting her laptop and chuckles. ''I feel under dressed tho.'' She confesses as she sees her daughter and Brittany both wearing a sundress and Liam wearing a button up and jeans.
''You are not under dressed San, you look beautiful.'' Brittany replies smiling sweetly after glancing down at the black skinny jeans and red top she wears, the kids both nod their heads in agreement and smile brightly.
''Beautiful Sanny.'' Liam agrees with a big grin, Brittany smiles helping both kids off of her lap and looks down at them.
''The both of you want to give her the gifts before we leave?'' She chuckles as they excitedly nod their heads and watches them sprint out of the office, she turns back to Santana and leans down pecking her on the lips. ''We mean it San, you look gorgeous in everything you wear.'' She reassures softly knowing she still feels under dressed.
Santana smiles opening her mouth to reply but quickly shuts it as both kids run back in squealing her name, she looks at them as Brittany steps aside and gasps softly as she sees her daughter carrying a big box of her favorite chocolates and Liam carrying a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
''This is for you Sanny, it is from mommy because she loves everything you do together and it is also from me to thank you for making my mommy finally happy.'' Liam tells her holding the flowers out for her with a cute grin, Brittany's eyebrows raise in surprise not having expected the last sentence coming from her son and bites her lip smiling lovingly as she sees the tears glisten in Santana's eyes.
''This is also from Britty, mami but also from me because you are the best mami and I love all time I get to spend with you, Britty and Liam together because those are the best days but having you as my mami is the bestest!'' Sofia exclaims with a big smile holding the chocolates out for her mami.
''Best mi corazón.'' Santana corrects softly as she sniffles, she slides down her desk chair and pulls them both in her arms after placing the flowers and chocolates on her desk. She kisses the top of their heads and closes her eyes. ''Thank you sweeties, I love it.''
''It was Britty's idea mami.'' Sofia whispers softly as she and Liam both kiss her cheek, Santana hums softly standing up after kissing their heads once again and reaches out pulling Brittany closer as she feels the kids wrap their arms around her legs. ''Thank you Britt-Britt, I also love every day I get to spend with you.'' She whispers softly as she tilts her head up to kiss her softly.
Brittany smiles lovingly pulling back with a chuckle as she hears the kids giggle and looks down at them raising an eyebrow.
''Kissing is yucky.'' Liam exclaims giggling as Sofia burst out into a fit of giggles nodding her head in agreement, Santana and Brittany exchange a glance and smirk.
''Is that so?'' Santana asks chuckling, she tilts her head as they nod their heads still giggling and smiles. ''Run.'' She tells them softly.
Brittany laughs as they immediately squeal loudly jumping away from them and leans aside grabbing Sofia around her waist before she can run away, she smirks as she sees Santana also quickly scooping her son up before he can make a dash and repeatedly kisses Sofia's cheek enjoying her giggles in delight hearing the same sound coming from her son knowing Santana is attacking him. ''Still yucky?'' She asks smirking.
''Nooo!'' Both kids squeak out giggling loudly, Brittany laughs pulling back as she hears Sofia gasp for air and runs her hand through her long dark locks. ''Mh thought so.'' She murmurs softly, she leans over the little girl in her arms and kisses her sons forehead. ''Ready to go to our surprise?'' She asks softly.
She smiles as they nod their heads placing Sofia back down and walks to the windowsill grabbing an empty vase, she quickly fills it with water from the sink placed beside the window and walks to Santana's desk to put the flowers in. ''Thought your desk could use a bit more color.'' She murmurs shrugging as Santana looks at her with an eyebrow raised.
Santana smiles as she sees her place the flowers right beside the picture of her daughter and hums softly. ''I think it looks beautiful.'' She grabs her leather jacket as she sees both kids ready to leave and turns to the blonde raising an eyebrow. ''Where are we going?''
''It's a surprise San.'' Brittany replies chuckling, she turns to look at the kids and winks. ''Ready to go?''
Santana laughs as they excitedly nod their heads and follows Brittany and the kids out of her office, she quickly locks the door hearing the kids giggle and shakes her head quickly jogging to catch up to them.
She follows them out of the building smiling lovingly as she sees Brittany taking both kids hands in her own and quickly locks the building. ''Alright where to?''
''It's a surprise.'' The three of them answer in unison as they turn to look at her, she shakes her head laughing and squeezes the kids hands as they let go of Brittany to take her hands in their own.
''We will lead you mami.'' Sofia murmurs smiling cutely, Santana smiles as Liam nods his head in agreement and leans down kissing their heads.
''Lead the way sweeties.''
She smiles in amusement as they pull on her hands leading her down the sidewalk and turns her head as Brittany clears her throat, Brittany laughs as they turn to her and nods her head to the other side. ''Wrong way kids.''
Santana burst out laughing as both kids just giggle turning on their heels to walk the other way and shakes her head. ''Oh boy, I am in for a fun day huh?''
''Wait and see S.'' Brittany murmurs softly as she walks beside them smiling as her son takes a hold of her hand too, she walks down the sidewalk smiling as she hears Santana talk to their kids and leads them to their destination.
She stops shortly before they reach their destination and looks down at the kids. ''We are almost there.'' She tells them with a small smile, she laughs as they start jumping up and down in excitement and turns to Santana shooting her a wink. ''Ready?''
She smiles as she nods her down and reaches out placing a hand on the small of her back making sure that her son still has enough space to walk without bumping into them, she leads her around the corner to the old barely used train station.
Santana's eyes widen the second she sees the historic steam strain in front of her and turns to look at Brittany as she hears the kids also gasp while pointing at the train excitedly, Brittany smiles slightly as they lock eyes and shrugs. ''Thought we could enjoy a ride around LA while it's nearing sunset and a nice dinner, the kids can play in the children wagon while we enjoy the scenery in one of the private seating cabins near them.'' She explains softly.
''That sounds amazing.'' Santana breaths out as she turns back to look at the beautiful black and red steam train in amazement, Brittany smiles slightly as she sees her pulling out her phone to take a picture of the train and crouches down to look at the kids holding their tickets out.
''Want to show that nice man over there.'' She points at the conductor standing by the door. ''Our tickets?'' She asks, she stands up as they nod their heads with big smile while taking the tickets from her and watches them jog to the conductor slowly following them as she sees Santana snapping a picture of the two of them too. ''The conductor will take a pictures of the four of us in front of the train and also during the ride.'' She tells her softly as she sees her putting her phone away.
''Really?'' Santana asks softly, Brittany nods her head and smiles slightly stopping in front of the conductor thanking him as he wishes them a nice ride. She climbs into the train after helping the kids in and holds her hand out for Santana, she helps her inside and squeezes her hand softly.
''Mami.''
''Mommy?'' Both kids ask after looking around in amazement.
''Yes honey?'' Brittany asks with a loving smile.
''Can we go play?'' Liam asks while pointing at the children section of the train where other kids are already running around and giggling loudly, Brittany nods her head and smiles.
''Go ahead, Sanny and I are in here okay?'' She murmurs as she points to the red cabin with her last name underneath the big reservation sign, she opens the door chuckling as they pull on her hands after kissing Santana's cheek and smiles lovingly as they kiss her cheek. ''Have fun crazies.'' She laughs as they run off giggling loudly while holding each others hands and turns to Santana holding out her hand. ''Ready for a amazing historical ride around the city miss Lopez?''
''With you I am ready for everything Britt-Britt.'' Santana murmurs with a loving smile as she takes her hand, Brittany pulls her close kissing the top of her head and leads her into the cabin both looking around in awe as they see the beautiful red seats and candle light flickering around them.
''Whoa.'' Santana murmurs softly, Brittany hums in agreement walking to the seats and turns to look at her.
''Want to sit looking forward or backwards?'' She asks softly, Santana turns to her and shrugs her shoulders with a slight smile.
''Wherever you will sit B.'' Brittany smiles sliding into the seat facing forward and pulls her next to her hearing the conductor's voice filter through the speaker announcing their departure in less than a minute wishing them a nice ride, she looks out of the big windowed door and smiles lovingly as she sees the kids running around with big happy smiles clear on their faces. ''They are enjoying it too.''
Santana cuddles into her humming in agreement and intertwines their hands on her stomach as she turns to sit with her back against her side so she can also look at their kids. ''Best date idea ever, how did you hear of this?'' She asks curiously.
Brittany laughs softly and shrugs. ''I jogged past this station one morning while I was here to visit HeMo and Nay, it just entered my mind last night and searched for it online immediately booking the tickets the second I saw that it was possible.''
''You keep surprising me Britt-Britt.'' Santana whispers softly leaning her head back to look up at her, Brittany smiles slightly kissing the tip of her nose and winks.
''The evening is only starting beautiful.'' She replies softly, she turns to look outside feeling Santana turn too hearing the train whistle filter into their cabin. They both look outside feeling the train slowly come into motion and watch the train station slowly disappear, Santana wraps her arms around Brittany's waist still looking outside and nuzzles her face in her shoulder with a happy smile watching as the scenery slowly changes from city buildings into one filled with nature.
Half an hour later
After engaging in some small talk while looking outside both girls pull back sitting up as a knock on the door interrupts their conversation and turn to look at the person that knocked, Brittany smiles nodding her head as she sees one of the waiters looking at her and watches him slide the door open pushing a cart into the cabin.
''Enjoy your dinner.'' The waiter tells them with a kind smile, Brittany smiles reaching out to hand him his tip and nods her head.
''Thank you.'' She stands up peaking out of the cabin as he walks off and whistles. ''Prince, Princess dinner!'' She laughs as she watches them skid to a stop bumping into each other and steps back as they sprint over to her, she looks down at them as they crash into her legs breathing fast and runs her hand through their hairs. ''Having fun?''
''Yes! This is so cool mommy!'' Liam gasps out smiling brightly, Sofia nods her head in agreement walking over to her mami and crawls in her lap.
''So, so cool Britty!'' She agrees, Brittany smiles lovingly closing the door of their cabin and walks back to Santana sitting down beside her picking her son up as he walks to her.
''I am glad the both of you are enjoying it.'' She nods her head to the cart and chuckles. ''Hungry?''
Sofia quickly nods her head and smiles brightly. ''Yes! What is for dinner Britty?''
Brittany chuckles pulling the cart closer to them and smiles. ''Let's find out princess.'' She places her son down smiling as he walks to the seats in front of her and lifts the lid off of the plates as she sees Sofia also walking to the last empty seat after kissing their cheeks.
''Oooh fries and nuggets!'' Liam squeals out bouncing in his seat, Santana chuckles helping Brittany with squirting ketchup on both kids place and turns to look at her.
''Nice choice for them.'' She murmurs softly as she sees a plate of paella and a plate of chicken Alfredo also on the cart, Brittany turns to look at her after placing her sons plate on the little table in front of him and chuckles.
''That was the only thing I know they would eat without complaining, they had a smoothie before we picked you up so I won't complain about them not eating any vegetables for once.''
''It's a date for them too, one night without vegetables won't hurt.'' Santana whispers softly, she turns her head to kiss her cheek and smiles lovingly. ''Good call on paella though, I love it.''
''I know you do.'' Brittany replies laughing, she nods her head to Sofia smiling as she sees both kids munch on their fries and winks. ''I had two of the best date helpers someone could have wished for, Li helped me pick out my food while Sof told me what you love.''
Santana smiles standing up and leans over the cart to kiss both kids heads. ''Thank you for helping planning this amazing date sweeties, I really love it.''
''We are glad you do Sanny.'' Liam replies with a cute smile, Sofia nods her head in agreement and smiles brightly.
''You are finally really happy mami.''
''You all make me really happy.'' Santana replies with a loving smile, Brittany smiles lovingly pulling her back down so they can also eat and squeezes her hand softly.
''You all make me really happy too.''
She takes a bite of her chicken Alfredo humming softly at the taste and lifts the table cloth covering the cart, she grabs the bottle of beer and glass of wine she finds underneath and places them on the cart.
She reaches over Santana into the bag she brought with her and grabs two juice boxes, she places them in front of the kids and blows them a kiss as they thank her with a big smile.
After they finished their dinner she places their empty plates on the cart and looks at the kids chuckling as she sees the both of them running their hands over their stomach exclaiming how full they are. ''Too full for dessert?''
Liam turns to her and gasps softly. ''Mommy, no one is too full for dessert!'' He exclaims giggling, Brittany laughs as Sofia and Santana both nod their heads in agreement and reaches under the table cloth once again pulling four plates with cheesecake from underneath it, she chuckles as both kids squeak loudly and places them on the cart shooting them a wink as they turn to look at her.
She slowly nods her head as Sofia tilts hers and smiles as she slides off of her seat Liam quickly following. ''Mami?'' Sofia asks happily.
''Yes mija?'' Santana asks as she places her wine glass down after taking a sip.
''What is a girlfriend?'' Sofia asks cutely, Santana blinks slowly and turns to Brittany frowning in confusion. Brittany shrugs her shoulders and nods her head to the kids as she sees both acting confused while looking at Santana, she reaches into the hidden pocket of her dress pulling a rectangle box out as Santana turns back to the kids and smiles as she hears her hum in thought.
Liam turns to his mommy as Santana tilts her head thinking how to answer the question and giggles. ''Mommy?''
''Yes baby?'' Brittany asks chuckling.
''Do you know what that is?'' He asks as he climbs on Santana's lap, Brittany hums softly reaching out to pull Sofia in her lap and kisses their heads as they turn to look at her Santana slowly following their lead.
''A girlfriend is a girl or a woman who you like, admire, respect, and would like to be with, a girl who makes you laugh, smile and realize what true happiness is.'' She explains slowly, she locks eyes with Santana and smiles shyly. ''She is your perfect match, a woman who goes from friend, best friend to partner in crime all in one day.'' She continues.
She keeps her eyes locked with Santana and licks her lips. ''She brings out the best in you and is your favorite lady that makes even boring things like doing the dishes fun.''
She feels Sofia take the rectangle box out of her hand and feels her slide out of her lap, she watches her son follows Sofia's lead and sees Santana turn her head to make sure they don't bump into the cart.
She smiles slightly as she sees her eyebrows raise in surprise the second she sees the kids standing in front of them with shit eating grins while holding the box in their hands and chuckles softly, Sofia giggles as she sees the funny look on her mami's face and leans against her legs smiling cutely. ''Mami, Britty planned this.'' She looks around the train cabin and smiles brightly. ''For you because she loves spending time with you and with us.''
''You make my mommy happy Sanny.'' Liam continues with a cute grin. ''And you make me happy too, I like knowing I get to play with my best friend while my mommy gets to be happy with you.''
Brittany clears her throat and smiles as Santana turns to her slightly confused, her eyes glistening. ''They are both right, I love spending time with the three of you and I also loved every date we had together.'' she takes the small box from the kids smiling as they both sit down on the ground in front of them and locks eyes with her once again. ''You and the kids make my days brighter and my mood even better, at the very beginning I never thought that you would play such a huge part in my life but you do and it grows with every minute I get to spend with you and with the two lovely mini versions of us.''
Santana watches her open the rectangle box in her hands and looks down at it the second she holds it out for her to look at, she gasps softly as she sees the beautiful golden necklace with a heart pendant and bites her lip as it slowly dawns in on her what is happening.
''You are one of my best friends and my partner in crime, you not only make me happy but also my son.'' Brittany murmurs softly. ''With you I can be myself and if I act crazy instead of laughing at me, you join me.''
Santana chuckles looking back up and gazes into bright blue orbs, Brittany licks her lips and smiles slightly. ''You make me so insanely happy Santana and I loved every date with you because well it was with you.'' She continues softly. ''Yesterday we both introduced each other as friends which felt not right to me and I know we tried to hide our feelings for each other so nobody would find out what was happening and yesterday showed that it's impossible because the pull I feel towards you is just too strong.'' She smiles nervously as Santana starts nodding her head and chuckles. ''I didn't ask anything yet.''
''Don't care.'' Santana murmurs with a soft chuckle, she pulls her closer and leans their foreheads together smiling lovingly as she gazes into bright blue orbs. ''You are rambling Britt-Britt which is a clear sign that you are nervous.'' She tilts her chin up and pecks her lips. ''Yes I will love to be your girlfriend.'' She whispers softly smiling against her lips as she hears the kids cheer.
''Yes?'' Brittany asks smiling lovingly, Santana nods her head and smiles happily.
''Hell yes Britt-Britt.'' She replies humming softly as thin pink lips capture her own in a loving kiss, they both smile into the kiss as they hear the kids high five each other and pull back laughing softly.
Brittany turns to the kids smiling as they immediately lean against their legs and ruffles their hairs winking, she turns back to Santana taking the necklace out of the box and holds it up so she can clearly look at it.
Santana smiles lovingly as she sees all four of their initials with their birthstones right behind it and locks eyes with her. ''Put it on me?'' She asks softly.
Brittany nods her head unclasping the necklace as Santana turns her head and reaches out to clasp it around her neck, she runs her finger over the pendant the second she turns back around and smiles lovingly. ''Perfect.'' She breaths out with a loving smile.
''You are.'' Santana replies easily, she pecks her on the lips once again and turns to the kids leaning down to kiss their heads. ''Best day ever.'' She tells them softly. ''Thank you for helping to plan this sweeties.''
Sofia wraps her arms around her shoulders smiling brightly as Liam joins her and hugs her mami. ''Happy mami?''
''So, so happy mija.'' Santana whispers softly with a loving smile as she kisses their cheeks not noticing the conductor walking away after snapping pictures of them during the whole talk, Brittany smiles lovingly as Santana cuddles into her side and leans back in her seat as both kids crawl into her lap also cuddling into her.
She reaches out grabbing their slice of cheesecake and kisses their heads. ''Thank you for your help prince and princess.'' She whispers softly, she turns her head kissing the top of Santana's head as she also whispers a thank you and runs her hand up her back as she gazes outside seeing the sun slowly fading away.
The four of them cuddle into each other looking outside while munching on their cheesecake and enjoy the scenery outside while also enjoying each others warmth, Brittany leans her head on top of Santana's as she finishes her cheesecake and watches the kids place their empty plates on the cart while taking the last sip of their juice.
''Can we go back and play?'' Liam asks softly as he turns to his mommy, Brittany nods her head and smiles.
''You can but don't jump around okay?''
''Okay!'' Both kids squeal out as they slide off of her lap, Santana chuckles softly watching them run out of the cabin and softly kicks the door close.
''They will be hyped up tonight.''
Brittany shakes her head and laughs. ''They will power themselves out.'' She whispers softly, she reaches out cupping her cheek and tilts her head up smiling lovingly as brown orbs lock on her own. ''Hi.'' She whispers softly.
''Hi yourself.'' Santana replies with a soft chuckle, she tilts her head up and kisses her softly. ''This date is amazing Britt-Britt.''
''I am glad you like it gorgeous.''
''Like?'' Santana asks with a small smile. ''I love it Britt.'' She exclaims with a bigger smile, she turns in her hold so she is facing her and smiles lovingly as she feels her thumb run over her cheekbone. ''Getting to call you my girlfriend now is my favorite part of today though.''
Brittany smiles lovingly curling her fingers around her cheek and pulls her closer dipping her head to kiss her softly whispering against her lips. ''Mine too San, mine too.''
