INTRO:
Wiz: Godlike power. Many villains seek to obtain it, only more than often to be destroyed by it. But what if they managed to succeed?
Boomstick: Both of these guys are immortal, but there is NO WAY this fight will last forever. Because there can only be ONE deity.
Wiz: Zamasu, a benevolent being who seeks to destroy all mortals.
Boomstick: And Salem, the ultimate threat to Remnant. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
ZAMASU:
Wiz: What consumes the thoughts of a god? What do immortals dream of with all the time in the world? In Zamasu's case, his one goal was divine justice.
Boomstick: Yeah, this guy's got major Final Fantasy big bad energy all over him.
Wiz: As the assistant to Universe 10's Supreme Kai, Zamasu prized, above all else, cosmic order and natural beauty.
Boomstick: Ooh, that reminds me! Did you know I can burp and fart at the same time? Here, let me try!
He inhales and does exactly that.
Wiz: Unsurprisingly, Zamasu despised the inherently chaotic nature of mortals, being seemingly unwilling to lift themselves out of their own cycle of violence and stupidity, like some people I know.
Boomstick: Yeah, I know those people, too. His heart was clouded, until the day he met Son Goku.
Wiz: With God Ki, Goku could match blows with the God of Destruction, Beerus. Their clash nearly destroyed the entirety of Universe 7, a cosmological structure at least nine times larger than our own universe. At most, it could even be as large as 13 times greater than ours. Uh, side note, it's worth mentioning that when two Gods of Destruction fought, they were capable of casually destroying two of these universes.
Boomstick: And since the shockwaves from their punches traveled across Universe 7 in seconds, they'd have to be hitting way faster than light.
Wiz: Goku was tapping into his Super Saiyan God form for this, though clearly not at its full strength. While the exact multiplier for Super Saiyan Blue is unknown, Toriyama himself has directly compared it to the original Super Saiyan form.
Boomstick: And don't forget, Goku trained with Whis and fought in the Tournament with Universe 6 before Zamasu caught up with him, so by that time, he was way stronger.
Wiz: And then, someone just like Goku showed up one day and killed his master. This…was Goku Black, Zamasu's past self from an alternate timeline. And he would help him bring his secret plans to fruition.
Boomstick: Long story on that one. A very…VERY long story.
Wiz: As if one Zamasu wasn't bad enough. But after being pushed to their limits by a mighty Saiyan trio, the two used Potara Fusion to finally become the almighty and immortal deity that Zamasu always desired to be.
Boomstick: And his name? ALSO Zamasu!
Wiz: More specifically, FUSED Zamasu to avoid further confusion. Not only was he devoted to ending all mortal life in THIS universe, but ALL universes. With both immortality and limitless potential growth from the Saiyan body, Zamasu was a near-perfect entity. And although Potara fusions could last about an hour, to Kais like Zamasu, it was permanent. And permanently in a Super Saiyan Rose form due to Black being in that form upon fusion, Zamasu is able to easily crush the likes of Goku, Vegeta, and even their Potara Fusion. In fact, it was stated by Shin that Fused Zamasu's standing as a god is beyond even their understanding.
Boomstick: Damn! He's like Dragon Ball's Madara Uchiha! Always plotting and nigh-unkillable! And Vegito was the guy that easily kicked the ass of Majin Buu, the being who had the power to destroy all of Universe 7! And that was AFTER he absorbed the bodies and powers of Gohan, who pushed back Cell's solar-system destroying Kamehameha, and the fusion of Goten and Trunks, Gotenks, who could scream so loudly he could rip open a hole in space and time! And Buu could do the exact same thing! Damn. Maybe they'd have a better time as Gogeta.
Wiz: Well, to be fair, they canonically didn't know the dance yet. Still, it's possible that Zamasu is still stronger than even HIM. As his Holy Wrath was so powerful that Goku couldn't destroy it with his Kamehameha, even at full power. All he could do was pierce it at the cost of paralyzing his arms. And given how both fusions of Vegeta and Goku could do a Kamehameha, and since Goku Black could do so as well, it's reasonable for Zamasu to do the same, as well as possess telekinesis like both Goku Black and Future Zamasu. And by created a Barrier of Light, Zamasu takes on a Haloed form, utilizing his Halo for numerous purposes, but its primary function is defense - though it can be destroyed by a powerful attack and when this happens Fused Zamasu reverts to his normal Super Saiyan Rosé form.
Boomstick: And he's also got that time-altering protection Time Ring, which means he's still around if you kill his past self. And if you thought that ugly scar he got wasn't bad enough, once he zaps himself with that Light of Divine Justice, he becomes this bigger half-ugly monster guy! He can even electrocute you with his own ki energy, and stab you with a ki sword! And he's even STRONGER now!
Wiz: But there IS a flaw in Zamasu's form: He's not completely immortal, since Goku Black was still mortal. Due to this, Trunks was able to use the energy of a Spirit Bomb through his sword to finally finish Zamasu off…or so he thought. While the body was gone, the will lived on.
Boomstick: Holy shit! Straight out of a nightmare! And since he was pissed that Trunks swung right at his wood, Zamasu began bombarding the entire world to finally bring his Zero Mortal Plan to reality.
Wiz: Zamasu seemed unstoppable, but there was still one being that could possibly hope to stand up to him: Zeno. Don't let his kid-like attitude fool you: this little guy is the strongest being in all of creation. With the power to erase a universe!
Boomstick: Damn! You know you're god-tier when the only way to kill you is to erase all of reality! Well, Hearts DID bring him back, but then he just killed him again later on.
Wiz: How ironic. Zamasu's higher calling was the eradication of all mortal life in the universe, and he stole the strongest mortal's body to do it. But in the end, he was always doomed to fail. His quest for power meant nothing against a being that would always be stronger, no matter what he did, or who he was.
Boomstick: And the universe ended up being destroyed anyway. It's like one big cosmic joke, with no one left to laugh.
Zamasu: My form is justice. And my form is the world. Worship me. Give praise unto me. Me, the beautiful, the sublime... Me, the invincible, the almighty and divine... All hail Zamasu.
SALEM:
Wiz: Once upon a time, there stood a lonely tower that sheltered a lonely girl... named Salem. Locked away by her cruel father, she desired only one thing: Freedom.
Boomstick: Luckily, that's what she got when this knight in shining armor Ozma came to save her. And they all lived happily ever after.
Wiz: Or at least, that's how it should've been. What the world had yet to realize was that the Girl in the Tower would soon become the greatest enemy they had ever faced. And it all began…with Ozma dying from an illness.
Boomstick: But she just couldn't let go. So when the God of Light refused to revive Ozma, she went to the God of Darkness, who did. But then the brothers got into a squabble, and ultimately Salem was cursed with immortality so that she'd learn the error of her ways. But like I said, she was stubborn for a mere mortal.
Wiz: Salem soon began to resent the gods, and thus had Humanity wage war against them. However, this would prove to be her greatest mistake yet. For the Brothers abandoned the world, shattering the moon, and destroyed all life save for her. Now, the world was but a Remnant of what it once was.
Boomstick: Damn! Dick move, Sally. Wish you let Ozzy rest now, didn't you?
Wiz: Desperate to end her eternal suffering, Salem threw herself into a pool that spawned the wicked Grimm. But instead of being destroyed, she became destruction itself. A powerful witch that would become the Mother of all Grimm. The goddess of a new world. Salem…was reborn.
Boomstick: Witch? I'd say she's a goddess for a damn good reason! Her immortality allows her to survive basically anything, such as this castle explosion and this huge Monstra blowing up! Not even an Atlesian bomb can get rid of her!
Wiz: Due to her immortality, Salem does not bother to defend herself from attacks, focusing purely on the offensive. She also has an incredibly high resistance to pain, able to keep going even when dealt lethal blows. And due to being of the first wave of Humanity, Salem possesses Magic.
Boomstick; She's got energy blasts, lightning, fire, telekinesis, flight, super strength, clairvoyance, smoke manipulation, tornado summoning, and she ain't restricted in movement when regenerating! Also, she may or may not have killed Ruby's mom…
Wiz: Salem is capable of controlling Grimm, and even transforming them! And she has the abilities of every Grimm out there, such as summoning Shadow Hands. And she can easily fool her opponents with astral projection.
Boomstick: But since silver eyes are basically a Grimm's bane, she's got a failsafe for that in the form of the Hound, which is basically a sentient Super-Grimm.
Wiz: Salem is also a master manipulator, having many join her cause to gather the four Relics to have the Brothers return to destroy the world, playing them all like pawns. However, it would seem that the only one that hasn't caught onto this would be her most loyal follower, Cinder Fall.
Boomstick: If she still stuck with Salem even AFTER finding out, I wouldn't be surprised…
Wiz: Yet Ozma was reincarnated time and time again, such as an academy headmaster Ozpin to a young boy called Oscar Pine. But resistance could only be not futile for so long…
Boomstick: Yeah, after the disaster that was Volume 8, Salem's got two of the four now. That just leaves two left, and hope seems bleak.
Wiz: It seems assured that Remnant's destruction is all but inevitable. But still, the story has not yet finished. Which means that, even in the darkest of times, hope still burns bright. They must return home…before all is truly lost.
Boomstick: But one thing remains clear: You'll need some real stupid amounts of courage to ever take on the Grimm Queen.
As an astral projection, Salem lets out a banshee scream at Team RWBY before lunging at them.
DEATH BATTLE:
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set! And we've run the data through all possibilities! Let's end this debate once and for all!
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!

Via Time Portal, Future Zamasu and Goku Black arrive at Remnant, overlooking Atlas and Mantle waging war with each other. Shouting can be heard. Zamasu grits his teeth.
Zamasu: Wretched mortal scum…
He holds out a hand, preparing a Ki blast.
Zamasu: Face justice, sinners!
He fires at Atlas, making the floating city explode in a violent display. Goku Black notices Mantle cheering, so he uses telekinesis to send Atlas crashing down onto Mantle, killing even MORE mortals, then fires another Ki blast to make sure no one survives.
Zamasu: Hmph. How pitiful.
Suddenly, a storm brews in the black clouds before them.
Goku Black: WHAT?!
A black tornado soon forms, and Salem soon emerges.
Salem: You…you killed Ozma…you destroyed the Relic of Creation!
Zamasu: Yet another mortal comes to repent for her sins. Yet your energy is absurd.
Goku Black: Only the gods deserve to have such power. You shall pay dearly for this…
They put on Potara Earings and fuse. Zamasu opens his eyes, and Salem seems shocked that they are silver, but shakes it off when she sees they're just gray.
Salem: What kind of Semblance is that? You'll find the hard way that I am no mere human…
DB Announcer: Fight!
Salem fires lightning at Zamasu, but he isn't even fazed. She gasps, and Zamasu chuckles. He then fires a ki beam right at Salem, disintegrating her.
Zamasu: How utterly foolish.
Suddenly, Salem reforms instantly. Zamasu goes wide-eyed.
Zamasu: WHAT?! IMPOSSIBLE!
Salem: It's hopeless. I have been cursed with immortality by the God of Light…
Zamasu: Immortality…? You…you…!
He clenches a fist.
Zamasu: THE GODS HAVE FORSAKEN THIS WORLD!
He charges and strikes, but Salem blocks a punch. Zamasu continues with rapid strikes before the two begin flying about, trading melee and energy blows. Salem manages to knock Zamasu to the ground, then commands the nearby Grimm to attack. Irritated, he begins to battle the Grimm. He uppercuts a Beowolf's head off, impales a Boarbatusk with his Ki blade, telekinetically crushes a Nevermore, fires a massive ki blast at a Leviathan, and catches the Hound, choking it as it reaches for him.
Zamasu: Wretched abomination!
He then blasts it full force with another Ki beam, and it screams before disintegrating. However, Shadow Hands begin to restrain him.
Zamasu: Unhand me, filthy bastards!
As he's distracted with fighting them off, Salem prepares a massive energy blast.
Salem: Die…
Suddenly, Zamasu roars out as his ki explodes, melting the Shadow Hands. He then pulls his hands back as his energy climbs.
Zamasu: KAAAAAA…MEEEEEEE…
Salem gasps.
Salem: His…his Aura! No one's ever had one so high and strong before!
Zamasu: HAAAAAAA…MEEEEEEE…
The ground begins to crack underneath him, and Salem has a Grimm river consume him to hold him back. She continues charging up, but suddenly she senses his Aura spike.
Zamasu: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
The Black Kamehameha evaporates the river, and Salem lets out a banshee scream as she fires. The energies suddenly slam together and clash fiercely. A split-shot of Salem and Zamasu struggling is shown.
Zamasu: I…will not…lose…to a mere…MORTAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!
He pushes the beam, and Salem is suddenly vaporized. However, she still reforms.
Zamasu: RRGH! WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY, YOU WRETCHED WICKED MORTAL?!
He charges forward, but this reveals to be an astral projection as Salem fades when he tries to chop her head off.
Zamasu: WHAT?!
He stops and looks around, before seeing the real Salem throws down a massive fireball. The fireball slams into the ground.
Salem: Hahahahahahahaha-WHAT?!
When the fire fades, Zamasu is gone. He then reappears again, having used his Time Ring to time travel a few seconds into the future.
Zamasu: This insolence cannot stand! YOU MUST PERISH!
He charges forward, and Salem catches his ki blade with her hands.
Salem: I could say the same for you, wretched god…
Zamasu: You dare call me WRETCHED?!
They continue clashing and flying through the planet, their battle having catastrophic consequences. Various locations like Haven Academy, Mistral, Vale, Argus, Beacon Academy, Shade Academy, Vacuo, Anima, and even Menagerie are completely obliterated, with NO survivors.
Eventually, the battle reaches the Land of Darkness, with Salem being knocked down into the ground. Angered, she uses telekinesis to send Zamasu falling into a Grimm pool. He doesn't resurface.
Salem: Good riddance…
Suddenly, lightning strikes from the sky above, piercing a Nevermore on its way down. It strikes the pool, and Zamasu emerges in his Half-Corrupted form.
Zamasu: THIS ENDS NOW, WRETCHED SINNER! PREPARE FOR DIVINE JUSTICE!
He charges with a punch with his mutated arm, but Salem counters with a strong punch of her own. She catches a ki blade, but Zamasu kicks her away. She slams into the remains of Evernight Castle before her Magic explodes.
Salem: I HATE YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Her banshee scream sends millions of Grimm at Zamasu, but he obliterates them all with Holy Wrath. Salem flies at him, but Zamasu grabs her face with his mutated arm before slamming her against a rock wall and running, dragging her across it. He then begins to slam her on the ground multiple times, similar to one of Broly's moves. He then tries choking Salem, who only smirks.
Suddenly, she vanishes, having been another astral projection. Zamasu sees the real Salem use her telekinesis to throw down the entire moon. Zamasu dodges the fragments, but prepares another Kamehameha to destroy the massive moon meteoring down.
Zamasu: KAAAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAA!
The beam slams against the moon, but the moon continues to fall. Zamasu yells, pushing the beam so that it pierces the moon, then making it explode. Salem tries to dodge, but her entire right side is caught in the blast. She screams as it is vaporized, and she sends all remaining Grimm at Zamasu to buy her time to regenerate. Zamasu instantly eradicates them all, but it's enough time for Salem to regenerate.
Both then scream in rage as they fly at each other, colliding in a powerful blast of Ki and Magic. Zamasu begins to overpower Salem, but each and every time he lands a killing blow, Salem's immortality just allows her to reform. Finally, Zamasu screams in anger.
Zamasu: ENOUGH! I WILL SEE TO IT THAT ALL MORTALS, EVEN YOU, ARE NOTHING BUT DUST, EVEN IF I HAVE TO REDUCE THIS ENTIRE PLANET INTO NOTHING BUT ASHES!
Salem: Don't you get it?! That was the plan! Until the Relic was destroyed! YOU'VE RUINED EVERYTHING!
Zamasu: SILENCE, YOU INSOLENT WENCH!
Salem: I'LL SILENCE YOU FIRST! FOREVEEEEEERRRRR!
She fires down a blast of all of her magic, and Zamasu retaliates with one of her own. The struggle begins again, but this time, Salem is able to push forward with all of her rage as she screams.
Zamasu: NO! IT'S NOT POSSIBLE! I AM A GOD! I AM AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
He seems to be completely vaporized by the frenzy and fury of the magical blast. Salem is seen gasping and panting. She then looks at herself.
Salem: Now…I have…nothing…
Suddenly, she hears something. Laughter. The skies above her become filled with the will of Infinite Zamasu. Salem suddenly has horror in her eyes.
Salem: What? No…this is…impossible! Who…WHO ARE YOU?! SHOW YOURSELF! WHO ARE YOU?!
She begins to descend into insanity, and Salem begins firing out all of her magic all around her in a mad frenzy while screaming, but none of it works.
Salem (crying): IMPOSSIBLE! IMPOSSIBLE! IMPOSSIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
She breaks down into fits of hysterical and insane laughter, the trauma having shattered her as she falls onto her knees. Infinite Zamasu then unleashes a Chou Makouhou Barrage all across Remnant, completely destroying it all. Salem screams as she is hit full force with it in a similar fashion to the deaths of Future Gohan and Bardock.
However, with tears in her closed eyes, she only gives out a happy smile at the thought of finally reuniting with Ozma.
Salem is completely vaporized, and we see Remnant from a planetary view, being bombarded by Zamasu's attack, growing stronger and more viciously…
Before it violently explodes.
All that can be seen is the faces of Infinite Zamasu as they spread throughout the cosmos. The screen begins to go static…
Before it cuts to black completely, the connection having been lost.
RESULTS:
DB Announcer: KO!
Boomstick: Soooo….now that Remnant's kinda gone, where do you think Zam-Zam's headed for next? Hopefully not here…
Wiz: This was a pretty close match. Death Battles can get pretty tricky when neither combatant can die. Both Zamasu and Salem possessed immense godlike power, but there was one slight flaw that Zamasu had that proved to be his greatest weapon. While Salem could reform her body, Zamasu couldn't.
Boomstick: So he'd just come back as those freaky sky heads! And Salem's immortality was tied to Remnant's lifespan, so the only way to get rid of her for good was to blow up the planet! Which…Zamasu could resort to in order to destroy all mortals…
Wiz: Salem was undoubtedly the strongest being on Remnant with her powerful magic and immortality, but Zamasu was just all that and much MUCH more. In the end, he was a supreme divine god, while she was just nothing but a mere insignificant mortal.
Boomstick: Salem sure met her Grimm demise in this in-Saiyan battle!
Wiz: The winner is Zamasu.
