Chapter 6

Weeks had passed since that stormy night. David was over quite a bit since that night. He had become friends with Nicole and Becks. It had been odd for him since he still had a possession tag on Becks. He had possessed her often over the last couple years to keep tabs on Josie. Becks was a nice girl and magically had not made the connection that he had possessed her. At least he hoped that she didn't. Then Nicole and Josie stepped out to get dinner one evening. Becks came home and David had been left to his own devices in the bungalow. Becks had stopped cold when she had noticed him and asked about Nicole and Josie. He had told her they stepped out.

"Finally. Take a seat. We need to talk." she said and sat.

David sat across from her. He was in for a bit of a shock.

"Are you here to hurt Josie?" she asked him.

"No." he answered giving her an odd look.

"Good. Now stop possessing me." she stated with venom.

"I..." he said and faltered.

"I may not be very versed in the craft, but I know you have possessed me alot and that you are a vampire after Josie." Becks stated.

"Yes. I have and I am. I really like Josie." He answered.

"You're the one that killed Ed, Al, and Zoey? Put Sam in a coma?" she asked.

"Yes." he answered,

"Why?" she asked.

"It's a long story." he said.

"We have time." Becks answered.

David nodded and told her. It was a long story like he had said, and she was right that there was time. When he finished Nicole and Josie were still not back. Becks sighed heavily when he had finished.

"Look, I get they did some pretty shitty things. Y'all did some pretty shitty things, granted, you were forced to do them. But unless either Josie or you go back in time, I don't see this turning out good for you." she said.

"Yeah." he answered, "I really do like Josie."

"I can try to send you back. Or at the very least send your memories back to the past you. It's easy." she said, "Easier than sending a person back."

"You can?" he asked.

"I can send a person back. But since you've been around for a pretty good while it would be easier just to send your memories back. Now sending someone like Josie, who isn't part of that timeline is easier than sending you back. I can have a time set where she can return automatically when the allotted time ends." she stated.

"That... I mean... thanks." he said.

"Josie is my best friend. She deserves to be loved and she is nuts about you. After everything with her mother dying and then her father being in a coma, things changed for her. Josie hardened a bit. If we can change what happened, then we can change now." Becks explained.

"Alright. I was not a very nice person then. I have changed over the years. The bitterness I held is gone. Josie is my focus." he said.

"That's why I can send the past your memories." she said with confidence.

"Becks, you home?" Josie's voice came suddenly.

"Yeah, we're in here." she answered back, then hurriedly to David, "We'll start tonight.

Nicole and Josie wandered into the living room and had take-out in their hands. They had decided on Polynesian cuisine. It smelled amazing. David appreciated cuisine from many cultures but Polynesian, Chinese, and Indian were his favorites. They all commenced to sit and separate the food amongst themselves. When they had well tucked into their food and the atmosphere was rather calm did Becks begin to speak.

"I would like to do some magic tonight." she said simply as she ate another piece of Moa Fa'Asaina.

Nicole and Josie stared at her. Josie shrugged and looked over at David. He shrugged as well giving his consent. Nicole murmured ok and ate some of her coconut rice.

"Why now?" Nicole asked.

"Well, I want to do my time spell. I can't guarantee where anyone would land but it would be a fun adventure." she said between bites with a slight shrug.

"Alright. You've been chattering about that spell for years. Why not?" Josie said and polished off her pineapple chunks.

"Good. We can start when the moon rises." Becks said and stole a piece of David's chicken.

The evening continued and before they knew it the moon had risen. Becks met them on the back deck with all her supplies. She had Nicole and Josie pack bags of clothes. Thie was a volatile spell at best. It would pick and choose whom it would send. As long as she focused on a specific date, time and location she could pinpoint them to just there. But she had to concentrate on those specific things very well. David had shared an exact day, place, and all details that she needed. And to make things all the clearer for her, he had projected it directly into her brain.

After she had all her candles and herb bundles ready, she had everyone set in place. While girls had packed, she had transferred David's memories to his past self. His past self would awake with all the future memories and come looking for Josie. She really hoped she was able to send them all to the past, she prayed she could. David would stay in the present. She drew her symbols and runes and set everyone where they needed to be. When the moon had reached its zenith in the sky, she started her chanting.

The candles seemed to explode higher, and the symbols began to glow. The moon became very bright in its glow. David watched from the window and then they were gone. No sooner did the realization of them being gone did his mind flood with past memories of himself come to him. It was like a flood gate had been opened. He watched them all in quick succession. When they had stopped for the moment, did he move away from the window and up the stairs. It was time for him to wait. Becks's spell would have them gone for two days in this time while they would be in the past for two months. It was going to be a long two days.
