Hi everyone, welcome back. Before we start this chapter, I want to clarify something. A lot of you are thinking that the Frozen crew is going to get involved in the New York gang war but let me tell you that is not the case. Perhaps I should have been clearer in my previous chapter. I said this story would mostly follow the premise of the Frozen II movie, while having elements from the "City at War" arc, but there isn't going to be any gang wars here. It's been more than a year since the heroes returned from their space adventure, so I'd say that was plenty of time to take down all the big gangs that tried to take over the city. Plus, with the story mostly taking place in the Enchanted Forest, which cuts itself off after everyone enters, how are they even going to get back into New York?
I hope that makes sense for all of you.
Now, with all that being said, let's get started.
Spiritual Wrath
It was mid-afternoon of the Autumn Festival, one of the annual festivities of Arendelle. All the kingdom would gather outside to partake in a large meal that would put even Thanksgiving to shame. Of course, it was not just the citizens of Arendelle that were taking part, and not just the royal family, but also the humanoid Turtles of the Hamato Clan, their master, and their allies including Karai, April, Casey, the Mutanimals consisting of Slash, Leatherhead, Rockwell, Pigeon Pete, and Mondo Gecko, and even the newly befriended kunoichi named Shinigami.
"Is it… always this… vibrant here?" Shinigami asked, referring to the cheery setting that was the kingdom of Arendelle.
"Pretty much. You get used to it." Karai replied as they sat alongside Mikey, Olaf, and Anna.
"Awe, what's wrong?" Anna teased the kunoichi. "Too happy for the wicked witch of the west?"
"First off, Japan's in the east." Shinigami responded. "Second, how the heck do you know about the Wizard of Oz, when this place clearly doesn't have any TV?"
"Our best friends are mutant teenage turtles from another dimension. You do the math." Anna said with a blank look.
"Hey, speaking of math, did you guys know that all science stems from math?" Olaf asked. "Like the Law of the Conservation of Mass?" Shinigami, Karai, Mikey, and even Anna looked toward towards Olaf in surprise. "I've been looking through many of Donnie's books. Science is a most fascinating subject."
"Is it a weird that I'm picturing him with an Einstein-shaped wig or something?" Mikey whispered to his sister, with Ice Cream kitty eating a bowl of food in front of the Turtle.
"Let's just keep him away from anything nuclear." Karai whispered back.
"But seriously, what do you think of Arendelle, Shinigami?" Anna asked.
"Honestly, it's alright." Shinigami replied. "It's a little too vibrant for my taste, so don't expect me to move here or anything. But, it does seem like a nice little vacation spot."
"Really?" Mikey leaned awfully close. "Think maybe like going for a swim? Or a hike up the mountains? I can even take you to this super cool ice palace. Just you and me, and a whole bunch of cute little snowmen." Shinigami however looked amused before she playfully pushed Mikey back.
"Awe, I think they like each other. What do you think Ice Cream kitty?" Olaf asked the mutant cat, who only 'meowed' in response, while Anna and Karai both rolled their eyes with humor.
"So, wait…. How big was he?!" Sven questioned as he, Raph, Donnie, Slash, and Casey all sat at their own table.
"Like a human blimp!" Casey replied. "Seriously, that Don Vizioso guy was huge!"
"Bet even you would have trouble lifting him." Slash cracked as he teasingly patted Sven on the back.
"How does someone even get that big?" Sven wondered.
"Let me put it this way, Sven." Raph said as he offered Chompy Picasso a piece of chicken. "He'd probably eat everything here at this party and still have room for dessert."
"Dang." That was all Sven could say.
"I'm honestly surprised the guy hasn't had a heart attack or a stroke at this point." Donnie pointed out, causing most of the group to laugh.
At the same time, Leo and Elsa sat down at a separate table alongside April, as she was catching up the queen on what she had learned since becoming a Kunoichi.
"The dragon's tail?" Elsa asked before chuckling. "And you kicked him where?"
"The same weak spot all guys have." April smirked.
"Ouch." Leo winced.
Elsa continued to chuckle. "I suppose it's ironic since they're called the 'Purple Dragons' and their leader got taken down by the 'dragon's tail'." Her laughter soon died down. "So, April, can I ask you something more personal?"
"Shoot." April replied.
"What's going on with you, Donnie, and Casey?" Elsa asked, causing April to look in surprise. "Oh, come on, it's kind of obvious to see. They both like you."
Leo gave a laughing scoff. "You wouldn't believe all the fights those two got into because of stuff like this. I'm surprised they managed to work through all of it."
"Unless April is planning on… being with both of them." Elsa said in a teasing manner. "I have heard those sorts of relationships exist."
April's face turned red as Elsa and Leo both laughed. "Guys! Knock it off!"
"Sorry… sorry." Elsa was the first to calm down. "But seriously April, I feel like you're gonna have to talk to them. It's clear that they both like you, but I have a feeling that you may only have room for one of them, and if it's neither well… like I said, you're gonna have to talk to them."
"Yeah, I know." April said as she looked down slightly. "Casey's reckless and he's not all that bright; but at the same time, he's loyal, very dependable, and is always willing to stand up to guys bigger than him. While Donnie does the same kind of thing, I feel like he's always been there a bit longer. Honestly… I… I don't really know. It's… it's hard."
Leo placed a hand on her shoulder. "I get it, trust me, I do. But no matter what, I'm sure you'll make the right choice."
"And if you need advice, I can give you some." Elsa offered. "Probably not much though, considering I don't have a lot of experience but… I'm here too."
April smiled sincerely at the pair. "Thanks guys."
As everyone in the town square mingled and made conversation, Master Splinter watched everything from his own table that he shared with Leatherhead, Rockwell, and others. If one would tell him five years ago that his family would be able to walk out in broad day light and not only be accepted by normal people, but even find new friends and even more people for their makeshift family, he would never have believed it. It has been a very unique life for the rodent master, it had its ups and downs, with moments of levity and happiness, to rage and despair, but he had no regrets, as it seemed everything had all worked out.
"Hey, Master Splinter." Kristoff walked up. "Can… can we talk? I need some help with something."
"Of course." Splinter stood up and followed the young man to a secluded area. "Let me guess, you want advice as to how to propose to Anna?"
That caught Kristoff off guard. "Wait… how did you…?"
"Raphael told me as I arrived." Splinter answered. "His exact words were 'he's desperately needs help'."
"I'm not desperate!" Kristoff replied.
Splinter looked toward him with a half-smile and a cocked eyebrow. "The fact that you asked Raphael and Casey Jones on how to propose to someone alone speaks volumes."
Kristoff winced. "Okay… when you put it like that, it does make me sound desperate. And… now that I think about it… I kinda am, because I'm really bad at planning these things out." He scoffed slightly. "Ya think that I was raised by 'love experts' that I would be a master at this sort of thing, huh? But… yeah, I could really use some help. If you don't mind me asking… how did you… ya know… propose to Tang Shen?"
Master Splinter gave a genuine and reminiscent smile before answering. "I proposed to her during the Cherry Blossom festival in Japan. I remember those were her favorite flowers, and the time where they bloomed seemed like the best time to ask her that question. I even did it as we rowed down a river as the petals began to fell."
"Wow… that sounds really cool." Kristoff said.
"Indeed." Splinter replied. "However, Tang Shen is not Anna. The relationship I shared with her is quite different from the one you share with Anna."
"Yeah, I get it." Kristoff replied. "So… I gotta do it in front of her favorite flowers? No, she doesn't really have a favorite. Maybe a ride up the mountain? Like how we first met? No, it might bring back up too many bad memories. Not to mention Sven's literally different. I guess we could do something with the Trolls again just for laughs, but she could think it's all just a joke. I don't…"
He stopped when Splinter placed a hand on his shoulder. "I can see that you really need advice." The mutant master commented, causing Kristoff to look more than a little embarrassed. "Kristoff, you have the right idea of wanting it to be 'perfect' or 'special'. But… you're overthinking it."
"I'm… over… what?" Kristoff honestly had no idea how to respond.
"What do you know about Anna?" Splinter began. "It is clear that she enjoys festivities, but do you believe her the type to be where she thinks everything has to be perfect or properly prepared?"
"No." Kristoff answered. "Really, she gets excited over even the simple stuff."
"Exactly." Splinter confirmed. "She has always been one to seize the moment. It doesn't have to be 'perfect'."
"So… just a simple… 'will you marry me', works?" Kristoff asked.
"It can, so long as you mean it." Splinter answered. "When it comes to the people that you love, especially the one you wish to spend the rest of your life with, but what's truly important is not what comes from here…" He pointed to Kristoff's head. "But from here." He placed his hand on the young man's heart. "Trust your feelings and you will find your moment."
That seemed to be all Kristoff needed to hear. "That… actually helps a lot. Thanks Master Splinter."
"Of course." He nodded. "Now, let us rejoin the others. It is a time of celebration, is it not?"
The rest of the feast went along quite pleasantly. Everyone appeared to have a good time as the sun slowly set and all the food was finished. Every person and mutant helped in putting all the tables and stuff away before everyone went back home. All except the Turtles and their friends and allies, who went to the Royal Palace to spend the night with the royal family.
"Rar!" Anna motioned a roar as she, Elsa, Leo, Donnie, Mikey, Raph, Kristoff, Olaf, Sven, April, and Casey were playing a game of Charades while everyone else was either asleep in their own quarters of the castle, or attending to their own business. Raph had Chompy Picasso on his shoulder, while Mikey held Ice Cream Kitty in her bowl on his lap.
"A lion!" Kristoff tried.
"A bear?" Donnie tried.
"A monster!" Olaf guessed.
"Tiger Claw!" Casey assumed.
"A Triceraton?" Mikey asked as Anna then began motioning chopping with an axe.
"Hans!" Elsa guessed as Anna brought her arms together and gave a deep scowl.
"Shredder?" Leo assumed.
"Dregg?" Raph also tried to guess.
April seemed to get the answer as she snapped her fingers. "Villain?"
"Yes!" Anna confirmed.
"Time!" Sven clicked the watch he had.
"Hey that's not fair, you got mind-reading powers." Kristoff said playfully toward April.
"Her powers don't work that way, Kristoff." Donnie defended her.
"Actually, they do, Donnie." April said. "But I just got lucky."
"No powers, that was the rule." Elsa reminded everyone.
"That only applies to you and April." Leo pointed out.
"And you're point is?" Elsa asked. "Alright, who's next?"
"Oooh! Me! I'm next!" Mikey tried to get up, only for Sven to pull his headband back.
"Nope. April guessed right, so she's next." Sven told him.
"Ah man." Mikey sulked as April walked forward with Anna sitting back down. April then looked in the basket and pulled out a random sheet of paper before getting into character. She then proceeded to stomp around as everyone else tried to guess.
"The Creep?" Raph wondered.
"A giant…?" Casey asked.
"Mega-Shredder?" Mikey guessed.
"Kraang walker." Donnie assumed as April took a stance and began pretending to blast something from her mouth.
"A dragon?" Leo guessed.
Olaf was quickly able to figure it out. "Tokka!"
"Yes!" April confirmed with Chompy Picasso giving a happy squeal from Raph's shoulder.
"Oh, my turn! My turn!" Olaf then quickly walked up as he took out a piece of paper. "So much easier now that I can read. Lightning-round, humans against non-humans."
"Does April count as human or non-human, cause she's part alien?" Anna asked. "No offense, April."
"None taken." She assured.
"Let's put April and Elsa on the human said because we got five mutants and a living snowman, might as well make it even." Donnie said.
"Fair enough." Elsa seemed to accept it as the lightning round began.
Olaf then reshaped his body to take a four-legged stance and placed the carrot nose on his forehead. "Unicorn!" Sven guessed right.
He then stacked himself with the carrot on the bottom and his snowman parts on top. "Ice cream!" Leo also guessed correctly.
The living snowman then took the form of a blob-like creature with his stick-arms, snow legs, and carrot nose acting like tentacles on the bottom. "Kraang!" Raph got it.
Olaf then stacked himself like a tower with the stick hands holding his rocks at the very top. "Tower of Sauron!" Donnie guessed right.
He then took the stance of a heroic figure, motioning holding a sword. "Crognard!" Mikey got it on one go.
"Time!" Sven gave the call as he and the Turtle brothers and Sven all gave each other high-fives.
"Hey, what happened to 'no powers'?" Casey questioned.
"Olaf doesn't have any powers." Raph replied. "And I'm glad he doesn't."
"It's not fair that he gets to re-arrange." Kristoff pouted.
"Doesn't matter." Anna said as Elsa stepped forward. "We got this." She said to April, Kristoff, and Casey. "Two sisters, one mind."
Elsa took the paper from the basket and read the contents before the round began. She motioned her arms out, spreading them as her sister guessed first. "Nothing? Air?" That didn't appear to be right as Elsa tried to take a stance, in which April tried to guess.
"Posing?" The younger redhead assumed, but Casey was able to get it.
"Skating?" He guessed, where Elsa pointed to him before making the motion to say he was on the right track. "Hockey!"
"Yes!" Elsa confirmed. However, right before she could move on to the next thing, she heard something. It was the same singing that she heard yesterday, the same mysterious tone that was sung through the air, causing her to look confusion.
"Um… confused?" Kristoff guessed, thinking they were still playing.
"Dazed?" Anna also guessed.
"Guys, stop!" Elsa told them as she continued to hear the song. "Stop the game!" She exclaimed, causing everyone to look toward her in surprise.
"Elsa? What's wrong?" Leo asked.
"Do you hear that?" Elsa asked back.
"Hear what?" Mikey questioned as Elsa heard the song again.
"That!" Elsa stated as she walked toward the window, with everyone looking toward each other in confusion, with Anna and Leo appearing the most concerned
"I don't hear anything." Donnie said.
"Me neither." Kristoff added.
"Same." Sven also said.
"Think I need to get my ears checked." Olaf rubbed the side of his head.
"You don't have any hears, Olaf." Raph told him. However, April placed her hand on the Aeon crystal she wore around her neck and began to close her eyes as she focused her own mental powers.
Elsa opened up the window and stuck her head out as she heard the song again, with everyone else eyeing her closely. She tried to listen in the air and pick up the source of this mysterious song as it sang again, but the more she focused, the harder it seemed to pick up the source as it sounded like it was coming from everywhere. And then, it stopped.
"Are you okay, Elsa?" Anna asked.
"It stopped." The older sister said as she walked back.
"Welp, somebody's cracked." Casey noted, causing April to elbow him in the side. "Ow!"
"Elsa, what did you hear?" Leo asked.
"Someone singing." She replied.
"Singing?" Kristoff questioned as he and Sven shared concerned expressions.
"Well, what were they singing?" Donnie asked.
"Nothing… it wasn't like a song but… just vocals I… it's hard to put it to words." Elsa found it difficult to describe. "None of you heard it?" Most of the group shook their heads in response.
"Actually, I did." April said, surprising everyone, especially Elsa.
"Wait, you heard it?" The Ice Queen asked, quickly getting closer to April. "You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." April confirmed. "It was definitely someone singing. A woman's voice."
"Okay, so you're both cracked." Casey said, only to get smacked upside the head by Donnie. "Ow! What was that for?!"
"They're not cracked, Casey!" Donnie told him. "The fact that they can both hear it, in fact says that neither of them are cracked!"
"I don't see any cracks on either of them." Olaf said, trying to get a good look at Elsa and April.
"Cracked means crazy, Olaf." Sven told them.
"So, you're both hearing this song that none of us are hearing?" Leo asked.
"Well, it's more like I'm overhearing it." April tried to clarify. "I think… whatever this is… it's being directed more to Elsa."
"How long has this been going on?" Anna asked her older sister.
"Yesterday." Elsa replied. "But it was only once. I just thought it was the wind."
"Dudes… do you know what this means?" Mikey asked as he paused in suspense. "It means… we got ourselves a magic adventure!" He announced excitedly.
"Hooray! Another adventure!" Olaf cheered.
"Well, so much for time off." Raph said with reluctant acceptance.
"Let's not jump the bandwagon just yet." Donnie advised everyone.
"Agreed." Leo also said before turning to his girlfriend. "Elsa, we believe you that there's something going on here. There is a voice that somehow only you can hear, well April can technically hear it to, probably because of her own psychic powers, but let's try and take this slowly so we can figure it out."
"Trust me, I know." Elsa assured before walking toward the exit. "I'm going to see if I can talk with Master Splinter. Maybe he's got some meditative spiritual advice or something? A way for me to focus more?"
"Why does it sound like you're unsure?" Anna asked.
"Cause I got no idea what this means, and I can't think of anything else to do." Elsa clarified.
"Can we do anything to help?" Anna asked again.
"Not unless any of you got any magic or psychic powers or are spiritually wise." She replied.
"She's got a point." Olaf said. "There's nobody wiser than Master Splinter."
"Thank you, Olaf." Elsa smiled before leaving.
Kristoff then glanced towards Anna to see her concerning expression. "Hey, she'll be okay. I mean, if anyone's got an answer to what's going, it's Master Splinter." He said as he put an arm around her.
"I know, but still…" Anna said. "Nothing like this has ever happened before."
"Well, you also didn't expect for you and your sister to befriend mutant turtles and travel into space." Leo put in.
"No, I didn't." Anna confirmed with a humorous grin.
"Ten bucks says we're gonna end up on another adventure though." Mikey said.
"Yeah, that always seems to be our luck." Raph agreed.
"Agreed." Everyone else said at the same time.
Elsa kneeled on the floor, in front of Master Splinter as he sat on the floor of his guest quarters as she had told him what had been happening and he paid attention to every detail, even though they didn't have a whole lot to go on.
"Hmm, so you are hearing the sound of a woman singing, and yet you cannot find the source." Splinter summarized. "What's more, only you are able to hear it, though April can also hear due to her own psychic abilities."
"Yeah, that's the sum of it." Elsa confirmed. "I heard it before, yesterday. And again, earlier. I'm not entirely sure but… I think it sounds like… someone is trying to call to me."
Splinter stroked his thin beard. "I won't pretend I fully understand magic, but perhaps if you were to meditate yourself, focus your mind on what you are hearing, listen closely, and maybe you might find what you are looking for."
"Okay, I'll give it a try." Elsa adjusted herself to sit in a meditative position as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Focus your mind, Elsa." Splinter began. "Clear it of all distractions. All your thoughts; your kingdom, your friends, your family, allow those thoughts to fade. Think only of the emptiness, allow your mind to go blank. As it does, I am certain the answer will come to you."
Within Elsa's mind, she had let her thoughts disappear as she steadied her breathing. At the moment, all she could see was darkness. Not the kind of unnerving or frightening darkness, but the peaceful kind that one experiences when they are in a deep slumber. However, she saw a twinkle of light in the corner.
"Alright… I think I see something." Elsa said.
"Focus on it." Splinter told her. "Don't open your eyes, don't think of anything else. Tell me what you see."
The twinkling light sparked as it swirled throughout the darkness. "It looks like… stars… they're moving… almost like they're dancing." Elsa began to describe as the 'dancing stars' began to grow and change color, to an almost vibrant pink and purple, before taking the same of a humanoid. "I think I see a man and he's… on fire…" The humanoid's body was lit aflame, but he appeared to dance with the flames as opposed to screaming in agony. "But he's… not in pain. It's like… like he's one with the flames." The lights and color changed again, to a navy blue as it appeared a different person was riding atop a horse, a horse that moved fluently like water. "Now… I see someone… riding a horse… I think they're swimming almost…." They changed once again, as the lights changed color to a vibrant gray as they grew to enormous size, taking the form of a what can only be described as a walking mountain with somebody at the top. "Now I'm seeing giants… like people… living mountains." It then changed again to a sky-blue color, flowing everywhere like a gust of wind, alongside another humanoid that ran and leapt along with the wind. "Now, someone is running with the wind… he's not following the wind, I think the wind is following him…"
Suddenly, it transformed again, the lights becoming blood red as two figures appeared in the darkness. One was smaller and took the not-so-unfamiliar form of Master Splinter, who stood boldly before a shape she did not recognize; it was massive, but it wasn't human. The only way to describe it was something akin to an abomination, raising its arm before slashing down at Splinter to strike him down.
"No!" Elsa screamed as she fell on her hands and knees, startling herself out of the meditation as she felt her forehead, her face already drenched with sweat as she took multiple breaths trying to calm herself, almost as if she awoke from a terrible nightmare.
"Elsa." Splinter put his hands on her shoulders as he attempted to help her up. "What happened? What did you see?"
"I… I saw…" She glanced up toward Splinter, but the second she did, an awful memory resurfaced. She saw the image of the Shredder stabbing Splinter in the back. The very same act that happened during the Triceraton Invasion, just before they met Professor Honeycutt and went on their space adventure. Though they were able to go back in time and prevent that horrible incident from occurring, nothing would ever make that memory go away. And whatever vision she saw, somehow brought that memory back to the surface.
"Master Splinter… I…. I think something terrible is about to happen…" Elsa said in a frightened tone. "I… what… what do I do…?"
The old master helped to steady Elsa as he closed his eyes for a moment before giving his answer. "I believe, there is nothing that can be done at the moment."
"What?" Elsa looked to him in shock.
"I know that may sound wrong, but these visions you are seeing, they don't appear to give you a clear picture." Splinter began to explain. "And we are still uncertain as to what the meaning is to this mysterious voice you are hearing. Whatever you saw, it is something to be concerned about, yes. But we don't know what is. And it is simply impossible to prepare for what we don't know."
"Oh… I see…" Elsa looked down in disappointment. She knew Master Splinter was right, but it didn't seem to help.
"Elsa, do you know what I do when I realize there are powers outside my own control?" He asked.
"No?" Elsa replied.
"I focus on what I can do." Splinter said. "One of the truths of life, is that no matter how strong we are, or how strong we become, there will always be events that we cannot control. So, we do what we can with what we are able to do."
"So, what can we do now?" Elsa asked.
"We can protect those we care for." Splinter told her. "Those that are closest to us are in these halls now. We tell them what we know, and we do what we can to protect them, but equally important, we allow them to protect us as well. Whatever threat you believe may descend upon us; I believe we stand a greater chance at victory by standing together."
It may not have been the answer she was looking for, but it was the one she needed. She smiled to the individual that she considered a second father before wrapping both her arms around him.
"Thank you… sensei…" She said as she tightened her hug. Though surprised at first, Splinter smiled as he returned the embrace.
There was a knock on her door. "Come on in." Elsa said, the door opened to reveal Leo as he stepped inside to see Elsa wearing a certain scarf over her shoulders.
"Hey Elsa." Leo walked in to join her as she stood just before the balcony door.
"Who else is out there?" Elsa asked in an almost humorous tone, trying to lighten the mood.
"Just me." Leo replied. "But everyone is a little worried about you, especially Anna. Everything okay?"
Elsa gave a sigh before answering. "I talked to Master Splinter." She said as she sat down on her bed.
"And? What happened?" Leo asked as he sat down next to her.
"I… I had a vision." Elsa began. "I… I think something bad is coming, Leo."
Leo gave a slight scoff. "What else is new?"
"This is different." She said, her voice laced with worry. "I… I don't think it's as big as that whole mess with the Black Hole generator… but… I just… can't help but get rid of this dread I'm feeling." She sighed. "I'm supposed to be stronger now… I know I've gotten stronger, I much more confident so… so why… why am I afraid?"
"There's nothing wrong with that." Leo told her. "Elsa, you are stronger, much stronger than when we first met, that's a fact. But, it's okay to still be afraid. No matter how strong we get, we're still human. Well, you are but… I'm well… you get what I mean."
Elsa giggled. "Yeah… I get it." Her smile however faded. "Leo… Can… Can I confess something to you?"
"Of course." Leo assured.
"I haven't told anyone this, not Master Splinter, not even Anna…" Elsa began. "I love Arendelle, I love being it's queen, I love everyone in this kingdom, I love serving them and making them all happy, I love it, I really do. But, at the same time… I get this feeling… like I'm supposed to be… somewhere else." Leo listened closely as she continued. "I don't know where… or why I feel like this… I just get this feeling, and it makes me… kinda shameful. I'm the Queen of Arendelle, I've got so much responsibility. But… when we were in space… I know it was a serious mission, but… when we flew across the stars… when I first formed my wings… I got that same feeling I got when I left Arendelle for the top of the mountain and my palace. I… I felt… free. Is it… is it wrong that I feel this way?"
"No, I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all." Leo said, getting her attention. "You have a big responsibility, and even though you love doing what you do, you still gotta take a break. Just… take the burden off and… be you. I feel the same way. I like being the leader, but also, I like to just kick back and watch a movie with my family. I don't really know 'where you're supposed to be', or whatever it is, but I do know that you have people here are going to help you with whatever you need. If you find someplace to be that makes you happy, and you really wanna stay there, I know that every single one of us is going to support you. That's what family does."
Elsa smiled emotionally as it felt like a weight off her chest. "Thank you, Leo."
Trying to change the subject to something more light-hearted, Leo noticed the scarf she was wearing. "That's a really beautiful scarf you have."
Though she still smiled, it was something of a sad smile. "It's… my mother's actually."
Leo's smile turned into a look of shock. "I didn't know… I'm sorry…"
"No, no it's okay." Elsa assured. "I'm glad you like it; I think it's beautiful to. Having it here with me, kinda makes me feel that she's still here with us in a way." She looked out the window toward the starry night. "I really wish, she and father could have met you; you and everyone else. If nothing else… I wish there was a way to let them know how alright everything turned out for me and Anna. That… I have my magic under control… Arendelle is peaceful… and we have friends and people to love and… we're happy." She almost felt like crying even as Leo wrapped her arm around her shoulder to pull her in close.
"I'm sure that wherever they are, they're watching down over you, and are beyond happy at how far you've come." Leo said with a smile before kissing her on the lips.
Elsa shed a few tears of joy as she leaned in close on his shoulder. "Leo… will you please… stay with me tonight? Just, keep me in your arms?"
Leo briefly let go of her so that he could take off his mask, put away his katanas, belt, knee and shoulder pads. "I'm not going anywhere." He said before pulling her in close. Elsa then pulled him back on to her bed as they scooted toward the pillows, closer together as she made herself comfortable in his arms, leaning her head along his chest and shoulders, both of them smiling as they closed their eyes.
At the same time, Anna had been just outside her sister's room, having heard the entire conversation. It may not have been her intention to eavesdrop, but she couldn't stop herself from listening. Though she was a little worried about this vision Elsa had and whatever this bad thing was that seemed to have her on edge, but she was more focused at how happy Elsa was right now, alone in Leo's arms. Nothing made Anna happier to know that her older sister had found someone to love be there for; she knew Leo would protect her as much as she herself would, and that was enough for her. With a content smile, Anna walked away to let them have their peace, before letting the rest of their friends know that everything was alright for now before they would all get some sleep.
A few hours passed as Leo and Elsa laid sleeping on the bed. However, the peaceful slumber was interrupted by the mysterious song that rang in Elsa's head once more. She tried to brush it off at first, but found herself awoken by the second sound, causing her to look around before glancing at the sleeping Turtle beside her.
"Leo… Leo…" She shook him slightly, trying to wake him up as she heard the song again.
With a slight groan, Leonardo opened his eyes. "Elsa…?"
"I hear it… the song…" Elsa told him as Leo pulled himself up from the bed.
"What… right now?" He questioned.
"Yeah." She confirmed as she heard it again and stood up from her bed. "I think… they want me to follow."
"Alright, let's go then." Leo said as he got up and quickly put his mask back on, as well as katanas, knee and shoulder pads.
"Really?" Elsa looked to him minor surprise.
"I mean, it wants you to go somewhere, and I get the feeling it's the only way we're gonna find out what's going on." Leo said. "So, lead the way."
Elsa smiled. "Thank you." She was glad she wasn't alone on this as she and Leo left her room and began to follow the song that only Elsa can hear as they were guided through the castle's halls.
"So… what exactly are you hearing?" Leo asked. "I mean, I know it's a song, but are they're lyrics or something? Is someone actually saying anything?"
"No, it's more like this." She attempted to sing the note herself but tried to keep it down to not wake up anyone else on accident. Right as she did however, she heard it once again. She followed the sound again, with Leo right behind her, as they came outside on a balcony before looking northward, in the direction of the open sea that laid past two massive cliffs. "I think… they want me to go there."
"Where exactly is 'there'?" Leo questioned. "Seems to be north but…"
"I don't know." Elsa replied before turning around to go back inside. "Come on, we should…" However, as she turned the corner, she ended up literally bumping into someone and they both fell over. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't… April?!"
The redhead gave a nervous chuckle. "Hey guys, let me guess… the voice again?"
"Yep." Leo confirmed as he had helped Elsa up before extending a hand to April, which she accepted. "And you can hear it, too."
"Well, like I said, it's like I'm overhearing it." April replied. "But yeah, I can hear it. Should I wake up everyone else?"
"No, let's see what we can find on our own." Elsa said as she followed the song that rang in her head again, with Leo and April close behind.
The trio exited the castle through a small door that led down to the fjord, once they got there, Elsa had an uncomfortable look on her face. "Where are we?" April asked, looking around.
"This is the spot where… where I lost control during my coronation and… accidentally froze Arendelle." Elsa recalled. Leo quickly placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, knowing how painful that memory was to her.
"So why have we been led here?" April asked.
"I don't know." Elsa replied before stepping up to speak loudly toward the sky. "If this is some kind of idea for a joke, it's not funny!" She called out, hopping this mysterious person singing the song could hear her. She appeared to get a response, in the form of the same tune again. "Can't you sing anything else?! Is that all you can literally say?!"
"You do realize that you look and sound completely crazy right now, right?" Leo said, attempting to lighten the tone with a small joke, but Elsa was far from amused.
However, as she looked down toward her hands, a part of her was thinking, maybe it was someone who was a bit like her. Maybe someone with special magical powers? Another possible kindred spirit? She had already found a loving family with plenty of kindred spirits with the Turtles, Master Splinter, and their friends, but the thought of meeting someone magical like her… It was starting to make her excited. Acting on instinct, Elsa threw up her hands to cast a few magical sparkles in the air, getting Leo and April's attention.
Suddenly, the magical sparkles began to act of their own accord as they shined a bright blue color and shot out in front of her before forming what appeared to be a portal of bright blue smoke. Immediately, Elsa grabbed Leo's hand and pulled him into the smoke, with April right behind them.
The second they entered, all three of them appeared to be surrounded by a black void that was quickly illuminated by a series of blue sparkles that took the shape of a forest that shined around them.
"You guys are seeing this, right?" Elsa asked, almost excitedly.
"Yeah, definitely seeing this!" Leo confirmed in surprise as April could feel the same thing Elsa was feeling, the Aeon crystal she wore around her neck glowing brightly.
"There's just… so much energy… and I feel like there's a whole lot more somewhere!" April said as they saw the sparkles taking another shape, this time of a group of reindeer that ran around the trio. They were quickly followed by the image of a boy running after the deer, with a girl running right behind him before leaping into the air and appeared to be flying.
Trying to get another response, Elsa threw out her arms to cast more of her magic, in the form of white sparkles, that shined through the black void, along with a symbol of a snowflake right under her.
"Elsa, what are you doing?" Leo asked.
"Receiving a message." Elsa answered as this mysterious force appeared to respond back. The sparkles all magically condensed and changed to a vibrant violet color that took the form of a flame that hopped around the group like a circle. It then changed again to a navy-blue color, and in the form of a flowing horse, almost like water. It then changed a third time, this time with the color being a darker purple and taking the form of a trio of giants made entirely out of stone. Finally, it condensed and took the form of a bright blue breeze of wind that blew around them.
Leo looked nothing short of surprised at all of this, while April found herself almost intoxicated just by seeing this display of magical power, her Aeon crystal glowing even brighter. But Elsa seemed even more excited, almost like a small child having found a new friend as they were brought out of the black void and brought back to reality, but the magical particles shined around Elsa before shooting out.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Elsa chased the phenomenon, like a child playing tag.
"Elsa! Hold on!" Leo ran after her, with April right beside him. Elsa didn't even stop at the small cliff that she ran toward and outstretched even further on a large ice pedestal she extended from the ground as she reached toward the distance. Before she even realized it, she sang out the same sort of tune she had been hearing, and had activated her magic to create thousands, maybe even millions, of tiny ice crystals that hovered not only in this area, but throughout the entire kingdom of Arendelle.
"Whoa…" Leo looked nothing short of shocked as he and April looked around at the hovering ice crystals. They were all shaped like perfect diamonds and carried symbols that were unfamiliar to the pair.
Those that were sleeping in the castle found themselves woken up as well as Anna stepped out on to the balcony of her room to look in surprise at the floating crystals. And she wasn't the only one; Raph, Donnie, and Mikey walked out, the former holding Chompy Picasso, as they looked all around in awe.
"Dudes…" Mikey uttered.
"Hmm." Donnie got a good look at some of the symbols on the crystals. "I've never seen markings like these before."
Raph groaned in annoyance. "What's her royal iceness done this time?" He questioned as Chompy gave an excited squeal, the crystals shinning in the reflection of his eyes.
Anna had no idea what to make of all this. She knew her sister was likely involved, but she had never seen anything like this before. She was slightly startled as a firm hand fell on her shoulder and looked up to see Master Splinter with a serious expression on his face.
"Leo… has this ever happened before?" April asked as they looked around at the floating crystals.
"No… this is new." Leo said before glancing toward Elsa, who seemed to recognize the symbols on the crystals.
"Air… Fire… Water… Earth…." However, she, along with Leo and April, gave a gasp as they saw a flash of light out toward the sea. It took the form of four diamonds in the sky; one was a vibrant pink, followed by navy-blue, dark purple, and bright blue. A bright white light shinned in-between all four diamonds before the phenomenon vanished completely, and all the ice crystals fell out of the air.
"What was that?" April questioned.
"No idea." Leo said before looking toward the Ice Queen. "Elsa. What's going on?" Suddenly, their attention turned back to the kingdom as they saw all the torches go out, as well as the waterfall stop completely. But then, April suddenly keeled over as she felt an enormous pressure on her head.
"April?!" Elsa quickly came down to help her along with Leo as the girl's psychic powers picked up something.
"Something's… coming. Something really big…" April tried to make sense of it. "I can sense… four of them. And… they're not happy."
"Four… no fire… no water…" Elsa's face paled as realization set in. "Oh no." Before either Leo or April could ask what she realized, she spoke to them with a sense of urgency. "We need to evacuate the kingdom! Now!"
A powerful whirlwind had blown into Arendelle as the Royal Family, Turtles, Mutanimals, and their other friends, along with the castle guards and staff began to spread out through the kingdom and evacuate all the citizens from their homes.
"Keep moving dudes! Keep it going!" Mikey exclaimed as he, Leatherhead, Mondo, and Pigeon Pete went over by the docks, where the water was growing incredibly restless.
"Just keep going! Follow the guys in green!" Mondo directed the frightened citizens to follow the guards, when Leatherhead turned toward Mikey to see a wave of water about to collide with him.
"My friend! Behind you!" Leatherhead warned, but it was too late as Mikey was swept by the wave and pulled underwater.
The orange-clad Turtle panicked at first as he tried to swim back to the surface, however, something caught his eye. Mikey looked in complete surprise to see a horse, made entirely out of water, swimming through the raging ocean. At first, this horse seemed angry, but once it set its eyes on Mikey, it appeared to calm down as it made its way toward the youngest Ninja Turtle, looking at him with curiosity. Mikey, who was more than confused himself, found himself almost entranced as he looked into the glowing eyes of this horse.
However, Leatherhead had suddenly dove into the water and slashed toward the horse, causing it to back off before swimming away. The mutant alligator picked up Mikey and swam back to the surface, pulling himself back up onto the docks.
"Michelangelo…?" Leatherhead asked as the young Turtle coughed to get his breath.
"Mikey, you okay dude?" Mondo Gecko also asked a he Pigeon Pete helped him on his feet.
"Dudes! There was a horse down there! A horse made out of water!" Mikey exclaimed.
"A seahorse!" Pigeon Pete exclaimed.
"Yeah! A literal seahorse!" Mikey exclaimed back. "You saw it too, right Leatherhead?!"
"I did." Leatherhead confirmed. "But we must see to the people's safety first. Come." He led the mutants to continue assisting in the evacuation. Meanwhile, Mikey couldn't help but gaze down toward the water one last time before joining with his friends.
"Let's go! No stragglers!" Slash exclaimed as he, Raph, who still carried Chompy Picasso on his shoulder, and Casey helped several people out of their homes and follow the soldiers in an organized fashion down the streets. Suddenly, the night illuminated with vibrant pink flames as many roofs were set on fire.
"We got pink fire! Pink fire!" Casey shouted.
"We can see that Casey!" Raph shouted back.
"Help! Please!" They heard a woman screaming as she tried to get back into her house, but a guard was holding her back as the roof continued to burn. "My daughter's still in there!" Almost to confirm her panic, the screaming cry of a little girl was heard on the upper most floor of the house.
"Casey, take Chompy!" Raph handed his pet alien turtle to his friend before turning to the other mutant Turtle present. "Slash, give me a boost!" The larger Turtle nodded as he cupped his hands together for Raph to jump in, before Slash threw Raph into the window of the uppermost floor.
After crashing into the room, Raph could see the pink flames that seemed to be burning through the roof as he also saw the little girl huddled in the corner, crying out of fear. The red-clad Turtle quickly ran toward her.
"It's okay, it's okay, I got you." He spoke in an assuring tone as he picked up the girl in his arms. "I'm gonna get you out of here. Hang on." Raph prepared to brace himself and push through the flames, only to look in surprise to see the fire actually part, clearing a path to the window for him. Though he was shocked, the life of this girl came first as he ran back out and leapt out from the window, allowing himself to be caught in Slash's arms.
"Thanks pal." Raph said before putting the girl down just as her mother came.
"Mommy!" The girl cried as the mother embraced her, holding her tightly. The little girl then looked back towards Raph with a smile. "Thank you."
"Dude Raph, we gotta go." Casey told him as he gave him back Chompy.
"Alright." He nodded back as the group helped to evacuate the last of the citizens from this area. However, Raph paid one final glance towards the pink fames with a serious expression before catching up to his friends.
Meanwhile, Donnie, Anna, Master Splinter, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven led more people out from those that lived closer to the town square, with Olaf holding on to the bowl that contained a distressed Ice Cream Kitty.
"Everyone, stay together!" Splinter told the evacuating citizens as a powerful wind blew in that began to blow many people down.
"Get to the cliffs! It'll be safer there!" Anna directed everyone.
"Oh no! I'm gonna blow!" Olaf shouted as he felt his body almost being blown apart by the wind, along with the edible mutant cat in his stick-arms. "Hang on Ice Cream Kitty!"
"I got you!" Kristoff was able to catch both of them before they could be literally blown away.
A bit further back however, an elderly couple tripped and found themselves unable to stand back up, just as a wave hit the stone cobbled road, causing a wave of the ground to come closer towards the elderly.
"We got people in trouble!" Sven warned.
Acting on instinct, Donnie was the first to run toward their aid. "Donatello!" Splinter called out, but Donnie was already there.
"Come on, I got you." He helped up the couple on their feet, just as the stone-wave was about to hit, but Donnie turned around and outstretched his arms, preparing to take the hit for them, only to find that nothing came. The stone-wave actually broke apart and split into opposite directions away from Donnie and the elderly couple. "What the…?"
"Donnie!" He heard Anna call his name, getting him back to the situation as Donnie helped the elderly couple rejoin the others.
Finally, the trio of Leo, Elsa, and April met up with Karai and Shinigami closer toward the castle. "Is that everyone?" The Queen asked the pair of kunoichi.
"The castle's empty." Karai confirmed as the wind blew in harder. "Looks like everyone else has got the town evacuated too."
"Then let's get the heck out of here!" Shinigami stated, urging everyone to leave. Elsa promptly generated her ice-wings and picked up April before flying to catch up with everyone; while Leo, Karai, and Shinigami leapt toward the rooftops and ran at break-neck pace, despite the powerful wind that blew against them.
Suddenly, Leo came to a stop as the wind seemed to blow harder against him. However, he wasn't about to let that stop him as he drew his blades, though he could see no logical reason behind it, he felt he had to do so. "Get out of my way!" He shouted to what he thought was an invisible enemy pushing against him.
But right as he said that the wind lessened slightly, causing Leo to look stunned. "Did… did you just…?" He had not expected the wind to actually respond to him.
"Leo! What are you doing!? We need to go?!" Karai called to him. Hearing his sister, Leo quickly sheathed his blades and followed her and Shinigami out of the kingdom, but not before he glanced toward the town square to see the flag of Arendelle be blown off its flagpole.
The entire population of Arendelle had been successfully evacuated to the cliffs as the heroes were making a quick headcount. "All men, women, and children safely evacuated, Captain Slash, sir!" Mondo reported, acting like a soldier.
"And nobody is seriously hurt." Pigeon Pete added.
"That's good." Slash nodded before walking toward the edge where Leatherhead and Rockwell were observing the kingdom. "You guys see anything?"
"No." Rockwell informed. "Whatever force that attacked the kingdom must have left, and the damage to the kingdom itself is rather minimal. Almost as if the force wanted the people to leave as opposed to trying to hurt anybody."
"They had a funny way of showing it." Shinigami commented as she walked up as well.
"Hmm, Michelangelo and I saw what could only be described as a horse made from water, near the docks." Leatherhead informed. "It was not a mutant, and I doubt it was an alien."
"A water horse, pink fire, is it always this exciting with you people?" Shinigami asked Slash.
"Usually yes, but this is something new." The leader of the Mutanimals responded.
Meanwhile, Kristoff and Sven appeared to be handing out blankets and other supplies to some of the distraught citizens. "Here, take one of these." Kristoff offered one sack to a woman.
"Olaf, what are you doing?" Sven asked upon seeing the living snowman with a pair of children playing with the ice crystals that Elsa had made.
"We're calling this, controlling what you can when things feel out of control." Olaf smiled as a little girl stuck the ice-crystals into his face, giving him a beard and mustache made from the crystals, while some of the other kids played with Chompy and Ice Cream Kitty.
At the same time, the Turtles, Anna, Splinter, Karai, April, and Casey all gathered around Elsa, hoping she could have answers to their questions.
"Okay, what the heck is going on?" Raph questioned first. "You're hearing a voice, seeing visions, now whatever the hell that was happened?! You better have a good explanation for that, Queeny!"
"Back off, Raph!" Leo calmed him down. "This wasn't Elsa's fault!"
"Actually, it might have been." Elsa said, causing the group to look toward her in surprise as she gave a wince. "I… might of… accidentally… woke the magical spirits of the Enchanted Forest."
To say they were shocked was an understatement. "Magical spirits?" Karai questioned skeptically. "Sure, why not?"
"Well, there was nothing natural or logical about what happened down there." Donnie pointed out.
"Well yeah, fire isn't usually pink." Casey said. "I wonder if the fire was a girl…" He muttered, only to get smacked upside the head by April. "Ow!"
"Not to mention I saw a real-life sea horse, dudes!" Mikey added. "And I don't mean the fish, but a horse, made from the sea! A seahorse!"
"We get it, Mikey!" April told him.
"Hold on… the Enchanted Forest?" Anna asked. "The one father warned us about?"
"Yes." Elsa confirmed.
"Wait a second." Leo stepped toward Elsa. "Enchanted Forest? Magical spirits? Elsa, do you know what's going on?"
"I think I do. Both of us." Elsa confirmed, referring to herself and her younger sister.
"Elsa, Anna, I understand that this may be a stressful moment for all of us, but if the rest of us are to help, we need to know what you know." Splinter told them.
The royal sisters shared glances before Elsa spoke first. "Okay. When we were little, just before I started to shut myself out, our parents told us a story about an Enchanted Forest north of Arendelle. This forest was said to be guarded by four spirits that embody the primordial elements: fire, water, earth, and air."
"And there were people that lived with the spirits too." Anna added. "Father called them Northuldra. They didn't have magic powers like Elsa, but they lived in harmony with the spirits. Our grandfather, King Runeard, built a dam for them to strengthen their waters. It was supposed to be a gift of peace."
"That's a big gift of peace." Mikey commented.
"Our father, who was the prince at the time, went with our grandfather to the Enchanted Forest to celebrate." Elsa continued. "But somehow a fight broke out. Arendellian soldiers fought against the Northuldra, and our grandfather was killed. The fighting angered the spirits, and they closed off the Forest with a wall of magic mist."
"Father was the only one to escape." Anna finished before she recalled something. "Hey Elsa, didn't he say that he heard a voice calling out to him?"
"He did." Elsa confirmed before catching on to what her sister was saying. "You don't think… that it's the same person calling out to me, do you?" Anna's only response was an unsure shrug.
"How come you guys never told us this before?" Leo asked.
"Honestly, I just thought it was a story he made up." Elsa replied. "Father never brought it up again after that… so…"
"So, these magical spirits attacked us because you woke them up?" Casey questioned, trying to make sense out of it. "Talk about cranky sleepers."
"I don't think it was an attack." April said, getting their attention. "I could… sense the spirits with my powers. And they were definitely angry, but… I think that if they wanted to destroy Arendelle, they could have probably flattened it and left no survivors."
"Well, that's not creepy or anything." Raph commented.
"Hmmm." Donnie began to think. "I won't pretend I understand a whole lot about magic, but Mikey, you said that you saw a horse made of water?"
"Yeah. A literal seahorse." Mikey confirmed.
"In Greek Mythology, the sea god Poseidon is often symbolized with a horse." Donnie theorized. "I wonder if the other spirits come from different mythologies as well."
"Elsa, do you believe that maybe this mysterious voice is connected to these spirits and the Enchanted Forest?" Splinter asked.
"I'm positive." Elsa confirmed. "I can't quite explain it… but whoever's been calling me… I think they're good."
"How can you be sure?" Leo asked.
"That's right. Look at what happened." Anna added.
"I know, I know." Elsa replied. "It's just that my magic can feel it. I can feel it."
"I think she's right." April said. "I could feel that the Spirits were angry. But I couldn't feel any malevolence from that voice."
"That isn't a whole lot to go on." Karai said as the group looked towards each other with unease. "So, what do we do?"
Soon, the ground started to rumble. "Oh, what now?" Raph questioned as the group braced themselves. However, there wasn't a need as Kristoff and Sven came toward the source to see a gathering of familiar boulders rolling down toward them from the hill.
"The Trolls?" Kristoff looked in surprise.
"Kristoff! Sven!" Bulda unfolded herself as she leapt toward her adoptive son. "We've missed you!"
As the Trolls addressed the rest of the Mutanimals and the people of Arendelle, the leader of the tribe rolled up to the main group as he came to a stop on a rock to speak on equal level with them.
"Pabbie." Elsa addressed.
"Never a dull moment with you lot." The elder of the Trolls spoke to them.
"Nice to see you too, rocky." Raph said with minor sarcasm.
"Grand Pabbie, do you know what's going on here?" Leo asked, getting right to the point.
"I am afraid so." Pabbie confirmed. "I know you may not have done it intentionally Elsa, awakening the angered spirits is not something to be taken lightly."
"Why are these guys still angry?" Donnie asked. "Elsa and Anna just told us about the story of their dad and Enchanted Forest. Wasn't that several decades ago?"
"It was indeed." Pabbie responded. "But I don't know their intentions. These spirits are ancient forces that are far older than I am."
"That sure says a lot." Mikey commented, only to get elbowed by Raph.
"Is there anything at all you can tell us?" Karai questioned. "Not to sound rude, but we're all kind of in the dark right now. Literally."
"Let me see what I can see." Pabbie lifted his hands as a magical illusion appeared before the group. It took the form of a massive dam at first. "The past is not what it seems." Pabbie translated the images. "Three evils must be defeated. First…" The images shifted to silhouettes of the soldiers of Arendelle and the Northuldra shaking hands before clashing weapons. "A great deception, that must be unveiled. Second…" It changed once again, revealing the silhouette of a humanoid entity with long arms and claws, and bat-like wings. "…An insatiable hunger only for power. And finally…" The final silhouette was that of a massive hulking form with twisted spikes and blades all over his body, causing Elsa to look in shock as she recognized it from her vision. "… An unrelenting hatred, colder and darker than even the coldest of winter nights. If even one of these evils is left unchecked…" The magical illusion faded to nothing. "There is no future."
"No future?" Anna asked with worry, a feeling that everyone else shared as Kristof joined them.
"What does that mean?" Leo also asked.
"Deception… Hunger… and Hatred." Splinter said mostly to himself, trying to think what it could mean.
"It means… that I cannot see the outcome of this trial." Pabbie tried to explain it as best as he can. "Should you all embark on this quest, there is no guarantee that any of you will be returning. And even if you succeed… nothing will ever be the same again."
"Ominous." Donnie said. "Not very helpful, but certainly ominous."
"But it seems like our only option right now, is to go to the Enchanted Forest, find that voice, whatever these three evils are, and defeat them." Elsa said.
"So, we're going on a magical journey to punch some bad guys." Raph summed up. "Now you're talking sense."
"Guys…" Elsa turned to her friends about to say something, but most of them were quick to interrupt her.
"Elsa, if you think you're gonna stop us, you're wrong." Donnie pointed out.
"Yeah, we've travelled across dimensions, gone into space, fought monsters, aliens, and homicidal maniacs, so yeah, we're going." Anna added.
"Me too." Kristoff also stepped up.
"Same here." Sven walked up as well.
"Honestly, compared to all that, this seems like a walk in the park." Raph said.
"Just your typical hero adventure." Mikey added.
"You need all the help you can get, Elsa." April said. "And we're it, like it or not."
"Heck yeah." Casey agreed. "Evil magic spirits, be prepared to meet Casey Jones."
"I'm coming too." Karai stepped forward, with Shinigami right behind her.
"Wherever Karai goes, I go."
"Aw yeah! Welcome to the team!" Mikey exclaimed as he pulled Shinigami into a hug, only for her to kick him off.
"Elsa, no matter what, we're all here with you." Leo told her. "You don't have to do this alone."
"Guys, guys." Elsa stopped them. "Look, I'm grateful you all feel that way. In fact, I was going to ask if you wanted to come with me. I know I can't stop you and you would go anyway, but I wanted to ask just to be polite."
Everyone looked toward Elsa in surprise and even a little embracement. "Oh." Anna said. "Okay then." Master Splinter had the decency to chuckle as everyone got serious.
"Alright, let's get everything ready." Leo said. "We'll head out at dawn."
"I'll make sure we have enough supplies." Kristoff said.
"I'll bring snacks!" Olaf called out, as he wore a 'dress' of ice-crystals the kids made for him.
"Grand Pabbie, will you and the trolls help Master Splinter and the Mutanimals watch over our people?" Anna asked.
"Of course." Pabbie nodded
"The people will be safe, I promise." Master Splinter said.
"Let's go make sure everyone knows." Elsa said as the group walked toward the crowd of people, as well as their other friends to inform them of their situation.
"Anna, Leonardo…" Grand Pabbie addressed the two of them specifically as everyone else left. "I'm worried for her. I know how much Elsa has grown, it's clear to see she is no longer the frightened child I once knew, and I am proud of that. But… these evils that you will face… not all of them may be foe that you can defeat with physical force. we have always feared Elsa's powers were too much for this world. Now, we must pray that they are enough. You two are the closest to her, and whatever you may face, she will be essential to your victory."
Leo and Anna looked to each other with minor uncertainty before they nodded to one another with serious expressions.
"We won't let anything happen to her." Anna vowed.
"We're gonna find these three evils, put a stop to them, save Arendelle, and we'll all make it back." Leo vowed as well. "That's a promise."
Done.
And so, the journey to the Enchanted Forest begins. The group of heroes consisting of Elsa, Leo, Raph, Donnie, Mikey, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, Sven, April, Casey, Karai, and even Shinigami are about to depart into the unknown and face these mysterious evils, which are only identified as 'Deception', 'Hunger', and 'Hatred'. I'm sure you can al take a guess as to what they are.
Things are going to certainly get exciting from this point forward, and I look forward to what mysteries the group will find once they reach this new magical land. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy out there.
Booyakasha!
