After reaching Fuyuki, the first thing Rias and Karna did was renting out a place to stay.

The house that they rented was located in Miyami Town, a suburban area of the city.

It was a large two-story western-style mansion with all the facilities that they would ever need there.

Karan insisted that, at most, he and Rias accommodate in nearby rooms so he can protect her in case of an attack. Rias agreed and they stayed in adjacent rooms.

Karna entered his room to get comfortable and he was definitely pleased with the room. As a warrior, he had no need for luxury or comfort, but he nonetheless was grateful to it.

The room had a double-sized bed, a large bathroom, and other necessities. Karna opened the window and let the fresh air and sunlight enter the room.

It was the time of morning and Karna can see the sun from his window. He folded his hands and prayed to his father, Surya Dev, with the utmost respect.

Rias was taking a bath so he went to explore the mansion. It didn't take him much time to go through both the floors and terrace. He felt the remnants of a servant in the area.

His keen vision spotted a mansion from where the energy was most prominent.

'There was definitely a servant there.'

Karna thought and went back inside.

"Hey, Archer, do you like this place?"

Rias asked.

She was sitting on the sofa in the living room. She was wearing tight-fitting blue jeans and a white top that showed her ample cleavage and slim waist.

"It's good, Rias. I believe that there's a master and a servant living in the area, I felt a slight trace of a servant in a mansion."

Karan replied as he sat on the sofa nearby the Rias'.

"Really? Then we should investigate it."

Rias declared. Karna nodded in agreement.

Both of them quickly left the house and Karna led Rias to the mansion he suspected which was a few minutes of walking distance from theirs.

The mansion was similar to other houses in the area with a western-styled appearance. It looked more like a haunted house as no one properly took care of it.

"Looks like no one is here! I'll ask the neighbors about it."

Rias commented.

They walked to a nearby and pressed the doorbell. After a minute or so, an old woman opened the door.

"How may I help you, pretty lady?"

The old woman asked like she had been charmed by Rias' beauty.

"Ma'am, do you know when the residents of this house will be back?"

Rias asked while pointing towards the old mansion.

"Oh, Rin? She should be at school."

The old woman replied. Because of seeing Rias as a harmless foreigner, the woman didn't ask why she was enquiring about Rin.

"Is she a teacher?"

Rias inquired further.

Karna stood silent behind her. He found that Rias is good at this.

"Oh, hehe no, she's a student. She studies at Homurahara Academy."

The old woman answered.

"And what about her parents?"

Rias asked her last question.

"Oh dear, she leaves alone. She doesn't socialize with her neighbors!"

The old woman said with pity in her voice.

"Thank you, ma'am."

Rias gave her a smile.

"My pleasure, dea-"

Before the woman can complete, Rias took her finger in front of the lady's forehead and a red light came from it.

The woman seems to have forgotten about the conversations she had with Rias. Without saying anything, she went back and closed the door like there was no one present in front of her.

"You erased her memory, that's smart Rias."

Karna complimented her.

"Thanks, Archer. Should we go to the school that Rin is at?"

Rias proudly smiled at him and asked.

"No. A fight might occur. I would prefer if we don't involve kids in it."

Karna replied sternly.

Rias nodded.

"Then let's roam around the city, we will deal with Rin at night."

She decided.

Karna was pleased with her decision.

The duo took the car from their mansion and drove it to the Shinto district by crossing the bridge.

The district was a modern business district. Tall buildings, people in hurry for their work were a regular occurrence on the streets of the district.

Karna parked the car at the biggest shopping center in the town, Verde. They decided that it would be nice to spend some time here.

They got off of the car and walked to the building.

Being extremely good-looking and not being Japanese attracted a lot of stares to them.

Rias grabbed Karna's arm such that it rested between her soft melons.

Karna didn't mind it as fewer guys will stare at her like a piece of meat.

Rias felt good as because of Karna's domineering frame, rarely any guy stared at her. It was mainly women who were looking at her jealously and want to take her position.

Karna had a look that was implying "not to bother Rias with their degenerate looks". He was extremely tall for anyone to dare disrespect him.

Meanwhile, nothing stopped the women from staring at Karna lustfully. Women started gossiping about how handsome, strong, and exotic he looks.

The lustful and jealous stares continued which they ignored.

They entered a beautiful tea shop to eat something. The shop was built with a western-styled theme.

Rias and Karna took a seat on a table that was at a corner, near a window.

"This is pretty!"

Rias said as she observed the beauty of the shop. It was an elegant and beautiful shop.

"Do you like visiting these types of shops, Rias?"

Karna asked to strike a conversation.

"Yup, if it's like this. The atmosphere is so calming."

Rias replied as she picked up the menu.

"What would you like to have, Archer?"

She asked.

"Anything that you order will be fine."

Karna replied.

Rias nodded and gave a look at the menu.

"Excuse me!"

She finished deciding and called out to a waitress.

"Yes, ma'am"

A waitress walked to them.

"Please bring us two chocolate pastries!"

"Sure ma'am, anything else?"

"No, thanks!"

After taking the order the waitress left.

"I bet you never had pastries or did you, Archer?"

Rias asked curiously.

"Quite a few times. It's not the first time I am summoned in the modern world."

Karan replied.

"Really? You were in many grail wars before. Did you won all?"

Rias asked with a surprised look on her face.

"Won some, and lost some."

Karna replied.

"So what you asked for the wish when you won? And what's your wish now, Archer?"

"Wish that I ask from holy grail is not important. I want to become the strongest archer. And that too without wishing it from the holy grail."

Karna replied with a gentle smile.

"And how... you lost... some?

Rias asked. She was surprised that he had lost in a fair fight.

"That's the part of life. My opponents were stronger so I lost. Though I would very much like to fight them once again."

Karna said with a smile as if he wasn't worried about losing.

He believed that a warrior had to taste defeat sometime in his life, what's important is what he learned from it.

'He's wise!'

Rias was impressed.

"Here's your pastries, ma'am, sir!"

The waitress came with the plates and served them on the table.

"Thank you!"

Rias and Karna thanked her together.

"Enough about me. Tell me about yourself, Rias, other than how you got pulled into holy grail war."

Karna asked as he picked up a spoon and dug into the pastry.

"Umm...I'm heiress to the Gremory Clan. It's one of the 72 pillars of the Devil clan. And about my non-supernatural life, I'm a student at Kuoh Academy."

Rias said.

"That's interesting, how come you are not an evil person like how devils are supposed to be?"

Karna asked playfully.

"My, do you want me to be evil, Archer?"

Rias said with a smug.

"I prefer you the way you are."

Karna said.

"Thanks, I guess."

Rias turned red hearing his words.

Karna was amused that her master was born in a privileged family unlike him who had to face numerous hardships. But she wasn't arrogant about that. Being humble was an attractive quality in his eyes.

"I'm finished, it was so tasty!"

Rias exclaimed as she finished her pastry.

Karna noticed that there is a little amount of chocolate on her lips.

"There's something remaining."

Karna extended her hand and took the chocolate with his finger, touching her luscious lips in the process. He brought the hand back and licked the chocolate from the finger.

"Archer!"

Rias was blushing like crazy. She hadn't expected anything from that.

"Oh, I thought it would go to waste. Did I startled you, Rias?"

Karna replied innocently.

"No, no, it's fine."

Rias barely replied.

"Shall we leave, Rias?"

Karna asked and Rias nodded in agreement.

After she got her composure back, they left the shop after Rias paid for the pastries.
